The Taj Mahal in Frodsham is genuinely amazing! Kash and his team always provide excellent service, and the food is consistently brilliant. The korma is, without a doubt, the best for miles – rich, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked every time. If you’re after a top-notch Indian takeaway, the Taj Mahal is the place to go.

I was up vomiting all night and I eat indian at least 3 times per week. So out of interest I checked the hygiene rating. Well, need I say any more! Should be closed down

Another cracking meal for two from the Taj last night. Always cooked how we ask, rice nice and fresh, garlic naan exactly as is should be and a couple of extra popadoms thrown in for free. Ordered at 7pm on a busy Saturday night and collected at 7.30. Spot on as always.

Feel awful for leaving a bad review...but the food was below average. I appreciate modern Indian takeaways cook a wide menu from a small range of ingredients; but most parts of my dish were poor. Salty, full of oil, frozen vegetables, in short - poor. Felt like the whole dish had been prepared days before and just warmed up with more oil. Price was OK and the staff were friendly.

Excellent if you like a near 5 hour wait for food to show up. Thought we had actually ordered from THE Taj Mahal by accident. But a phone call confirmed we hadn't and the food had just left the takeaway, based a mere 8 minutes from my abode, this was just 2 hours and 10 minutes into our experience and the finish line appeared to be in sight. Imagine my surprise just 55 minutes later, we called back to find out it was yet to leave. The cheeky guy on the phone had pulled the wool right over our eyes! Oh well, these things happen I guess? This process repeated itself until they gave up answering the phone, customer service 101 there. When the treat arrived, after a 4 hour and 45 minute (ordered at 5.35pm arrived at 10.20pm) period of anticipation, the attempted hand off from the delivery driver like a grenade with the pin pulled did not go as planned as despite my uncontrollable hunger pains I realised I would rather wither away then give them business. Once it got to 3 hours we had been calling to cancel, but all out of excuses for their customers they decided to blank the calls, they would have known we had decided to eat elsewhere. The icing on the cake was the guy who told us our food had left, on multiple occasions, was our delivery driver. Unless he had put it in his boot for a few hours ago or is a timetraveller a fail to see how this is possible. The apology was, sorry but we are busy - I hope you are much, much, much less busy in the future.

Nearly £50 spent here at 6:30pm. 9pm still no food and it hadn't even left the shop. Absolutely disgusting service and won't be using again. And can't tell me how long the refund will be

Ordered about £50 worth of assorted starters and mains for a Friday night treat night in front of the fire. All correctly delivered just over an hour later. Really nice and tasty. Despite its small size Frodsham is very well served with Indian food options. For takeaway I would highly recommend Taj Mahal. For a sit down job I would recommend Naga. In fairness the others are very good too. I’ve heard very good reports about the Junoon in Helsby from friends and family, but I’ve not been myself.

My favourite Indian takeaway. Dishes are always full of flavour, my recommendation would be the Garlic chili chicken from the specials which has roasted chilies which adds a beautiful nutty depth of flavour. Jalfrezi is another favourite, full of perfectly cooked veggies. The rice dishes are class aswell, try biryani, mushroom or the egg fried rice! Customer service is excellent too!

Went to taj mahal this evening and won't be returning Again , food was so disappointing, we ordered onion bhaji and chicken takka and chicken was un cooked and crunchy and also bland no flavours at all . So disappointing.

Told 2 hour wait on delivery due to driver problems understood so ordered food too arrive at 9 o'clock. The food arrived and was stone cold had to heat up in microwave also some foods not with order which we paid for when we rang them they said we could come and pick it up as we had a drink we could not drive .will not order again

Ordered food which didn't arrive after 3 hours. Requested a refund 1 week ago and no closer to getting it resolved. Called yesterday and was told 'Manager was at Tesco and nobody else can assist'. Then later on the same evening was then told 'The Manager will not be back at all'.

Ordered a King Prawn Karahi Dish,a King onion Karahi dish arrived,I frantically searched through the mountain of onion thinking to myself there must be some prawns hidden somewhere,eventually I managed to find two which doesn’t seem very good value for money. First and last time I will use these,the one star is for it turning up on time and quite frankly that is over generous.

Passing through, ordered Chicken Tikka Balti, Chicken Tikka Madras, mushroom rice, chips, keema naan! WOW! We both think best Indian takeaway we've had, amazing! We'll done staff!

Excellent food and even better service. I’ve lived in Bradford and London, but the food here stands up to any Indian cuisine I’ve eaten. Personal favourites are the Ceylon, Pathia and Dopiaza, but all he curries are exceptional!

Perfect authentic Indian food. Good quality and brilliant tasting food all cooked fresh in front of you in this take away only restaurant. Both our meals just great. Well worth a try if you’re looking.

I wouldn't recommend Taj Mahal phoned up at 17.00 and I was told it would be 40 minutes arrived at Taj Mahal around 17.35 I was told it would be a few minutes I decided to leave at 18.35 as my food still wasn't ready so I basically waited 1.35hrs for nothing and in the freezing cold to 👌I won't be coming back I will be going to another curry house

We ordered online and was told it would be 40-mins before collection. My husband arrived on time, to be told the Chicken Korma, had been made with sugar by accident (we asked for it to be made without, as i'm pre-diabetic). My husband waited outside, for 1-hour for them to re-make the curry. Not once, did anyone let him know how long it would take, or apologise for the wait. My husband went in to ask how long it would be and they said "they have made it with sugar again, so we are going to have to re-do". Unfortunately we felt that this was not true. Many others were waiting outside too, with delays to their order getting frustrated. We felt this was an excuse, to give them more time. Honesty would have just been so much better. When it eventually was ready 1hr45 mins after ordering, there was no compensation. Maybe throw in a few extra poppadoms, or something? Arrived home and the lamb pathia was chewy and the korma had too much almond powder in it and was not good at all. We won't be returning again.

So i placed my order expecting it to be delivered in 60 minutes as the website said but actually received it 3 hours later! Within the last hour and 15 minutes i called and chased the food 3 times and was told the driver would be there soon, the last time apparently he was 10 minutes away but turned up 25 minutes later. As i live in runcorn (not far from frodsham) i thought i was being lied to on all 3 occasions and the food hadn't actually left the restaurant yet! On receiving the food i was probably told the truth as the food was cold (hard task in those foil containers) I wish i could say the food was worth the wait but it wasn't, apart from it being cold the madras had no flavour and was watery, it formed a puddle on the opposite end of my plate. I will not be ordering from here again

The food and service is always excellent, the staff are all so nice. We have been using their takeaway now for years and I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal, the orders are always correct and cooked and presented lovely.

If you need a proper Indian cuisine, try this place. I would highly recommend them for their great customer service and their tasty food.

First time ordering from here and it will not be the last time, we will be back my son loved the masala nice and spicy he said. Very busy wait time is more than most place but it is all cooked fresh in front of you(open kitchen) and not behind closed doors.

First time visiting the area and very funny with food from a new place. We find different areas in the country do the curries slightly different and might be spicer then we are used to. The service was started with a warm welcome and was quick and friendly. Our food was still hot after a 10 minute car journey and it tasted amazing! Would definitely recommend this place

I always drive to this Indian it is the best in the area, the food is great quality, a little more expensive than some others but worth the price and the drive to collect.

Been going the Taj Mahal for years and have never had bad food. If you're in Frodsham in the evening and fancy a kebab check out the 'Taj Mahal Special' it is a taste sensation!

This is the most popular Indian restaurant in Frodsham and it is not surprising as their food is delicious with beautifully prepared food that has generous portions, extremely friendly and helpful staff and a good wine menu all at a reasonable price.

Having tried lots of Indian restaurants and take always around the area this one stands well above the others for both quality and taste. Highly recommended

Just had a takeaway 2 mixed tandoori grills and a lamb tikka jalfrezi. Lamb in all dishes extremely tough and unchewable although our dogs did enjoy it! Chicken tandoori tasted like it had been soaked in salt again dogs enjoyed it! Even chutneys with our poppadums awful. Use to be one of our favourite takeaways but never again :-(

Arrived on a Thursday night and it was quiet but not dead. There's plenty of competition for indian food in this small town but we went on the Tripadvisor recommendation and were not disappointed.Friend had Lamb Jalfrezi and I had Chicken Salley. popadoms came with delicious sauces and the mains were fantastic. Flavour and spice to die for. Was thoroughly stuffed upon leaving as I just couldn't leave anything on the plate!

New to the area we decided to test the local cuisine. We've heard good things about the Taj Mahal so thought we'd give it a go. My husbands food was lovely but mine was a different story altogether.I had ordered a Chicken Madras and whilst it looked and smelt great there was a distinctive taste that I couldn't quite put my finger on, that was until I bit into a piece of chicken and was greeted with an explosive taste of rubber!A rubber band was in the middle of the chicken... Needless to say I was sick and will never eat from here again

chicken dansak is the best around. All the food is cooked start to finish right in front of you as you wait, the staff are friendly and are more than happy to talk curry noobs through the menu or give recommendations as to what new curries to try. little expensive, but so are all curry houses. Youll struggle to find a better curry within 50 miles

I am a regular visitor to the Taj as I live in the area. I have never had a bad meal from there and never felt the need to add a review, however a coupe of nights ago I had a chicken madras and my wife had a chicken jalfrezi and we have to say that it was the best indian we have ever had. Obviously it begs the question what about all the other meals we have had! Well as I have said they have been great and they are very accommodating cooking them to your specifications if you wish, its just that the one we had recently has motivated me to put this review. ypou won't be disappointed.

Ok, so it's not the best curry I've had in my life. I've lived in Asia, dined in posh Indian restaurant like the cinnamon club and there is no doubt there are better curry out there.But you'll have to put things into perspective. It's a take away restaurant, not competing for a Michelin star! And it's in middle of a small rural town. And when you consider that, I think their curry certainly tastes much more flavor some than any other takeaways (and restaurants nearby), with decent potions and friendly service. You can see the kitchen from the counter and its a reflection of their confidence in their own cooking.

As a family we regularly order food from the Taj Mahal and I cannot fault it one bit. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you want something a bit different from the menu they are more than willing to accommodate. We live in Frodsham and there are also 3 other restaurants that you can order Indian food from which we have tried but we have found that the Taj Mahal is the better option and have never been disappointed with the food. For the reviewer that said that the curry was runny I suggest that you order a different type of curry as they are all different in texture. The food is cooked in front of you including all of the breads which are made from scratch.

Peshwari naan delicious as is the chicken tikka. Salad questionable, but don't suppose you go for an Indian Takeaway to have salad anyway! Staff always really friendly and helpful.

sadly a very disappointing experience, chicken tikka was tasty and salad (well half a cherry tomato,shredded lettuce and cabbage and lemon)! was fresh, the curry sauce was the runniest I have ever clapped eyes on and totally bland. The chips were wrinkly and cold and they had put in 2 tub of chopped onion and yoghurt dip but no poppadoms for these and no mango chutney, and wasn't busy at the time either. not very impressed at all and there was also a 50p charge for credit cards under £10.
