Excellent, good quality sourdough bread, focaccia and sweets. Very friendly, welcoming staff with foreign accent with comprehensive knowledge concerning food.

We visited the bakery’s site in Wykeham village which is takeaway. Absolutely delicious savoury quiches, and sweet treats. The currant teacakes are the best we’ve ever tasted! Highly recommend taking some home and having buttered. The depth of flavour is wonderful, you can tell the ingredients are good quality. Very good value too.

Spent lots of money with this guy who always promised to repay me for supplying food products. Sadly I'm still waiting, and waiting and waiting!! Such a shame as the food is OK but I wont be calling again. I know times are hard but always pay your bills.

I did message the page and give them the option to respond but it’s been 4 days so I doubt I’m getting one. We visit here often as the bread is lovely. It’s a shame about the customer service. You’re made to feel like you’re bothering them for going to the counter as they’re too busy talking. There are several reviews and I presume they’re all about the same woman. Bad for business.

Every sort of sour dough you can imagine, all freshly baked, baguettes particularly goo. Sweet treats are amazing too, Portuguese twist on things making it all extra special, if they haven't sold out, try one of their sausage rolls, you will be hooked

I visited twice during my break to Scarborough and tried the quiche, cheese scones and coffee and walnut cake and all were delicious, as was the coffee. I was not in a hurry so was more than happy to wait for my food as I hate to feel rushed as I sometimes do in busier restaurants

An out of the ordinary cafe. Good coffee and home made produce available. Great looking cheese scones and the cake and chocolate items looked divine. We specifically sought it out to purchase their artisan bread. Just tried the sourdough loaf. Tasty.

Visited many times under the old owners and have never been disappointed. Decided to eat here while visiting my sister. One of the waitresses was very friendly and helpful, less could be said about the second who needs to learn how to interact with her customers. My sister and I had a bacon sandwich each ,it was terrible the bacon was hard we had to remove the crust on the bread as neither of us could bite though it. The Menu is so limited, we were struggling to find something we fancied for lunch. And on visiting the toilets,I must say were needing a clean and update I nor my sister who lives in Scarborough will be visiting again .

We have been here a number of times and have recommended it. However, the last few times we have been the customer service really isn't brilliant. When we went a few days ago the service was even worse. Please, please improve or we will be going elsewhere.

Came here for the first time. Seats downstairs are in direct path of the door so constantly cold and in a draft. With hubby and after the lunchtime rush. There was a waitress making drinks for a table and a chap milling around. The waitress went to take our order then asked the chap to take it but he obviously couldnt work the till and it was all a bit muddled. Her attitude left a lot to be desired. There was another waitress who came in while we were sat waiting for our food and she was fine, polite and friendly but the other staff need to review their customer service - they have put me off returning. I dont need to hear that the waitress is going to the toilet when I am eating!! We also didnt get the option of which bread for our sandwhich and it was a long, long wait but............ Having said that, the club sandwhich was the best I have eaten in Scarborough in 13yrs of living here so well done just a shame about the customer service.

Website details Market opening times as Mom to Sat 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Drove over early from South Scarborough hoping for easy parking whilst I popped in for some fresh bread for breakfast. Arrived at 08.10; no lights on, when asked the guy at the stall if the bread was ready he told me the bread was but he wasn’t, would be about another half an hour. Why advertise opening times if they are not correct, or at least clarify the bakery stall opening times if they differ from the market hall. Very disappointed. Won’t bother again.

Meal was awful. Popped in for a BLT and a toasted BLT with chips, after waiting 30 minutes it arrived. Bacon tasted like it had been well pre-cooked and not even slightly warmed. Salad was going off as the lettuce was sour and the radish was dry. Chips were forgotten and after complaining they arrived 15 minutes after the rest of the food but by then I had to ask for them to be taken out as the rest of the meal was already finished. They tasted awfully greasy, a reminder of what cold greasy donuts. Another customer also complained he’d waited an hour just for a ham salad to which the waitress argued back at him with a number of excuses. Would not recommend at all.

Absolutely thrilled by the food here at Solange. A lovely friendly cafe serving delicious food! We chose the soup of the day and it certainly did not disappoint. I will certainly make a returning trip here as I was that impressed.

The café is actually on the town end of North Street. I visited for coffee at 10am on a Saturday morning and we were the first ones there and able to pick a table. While we waited for our order I bought a loaf of sourdough for £2. My friend had a scone which she really enjoyed. I had a pot of tea and a toasted teacake which was delicious! - large and very fresh. All the prices are very reasonable for a town centre café, the staff are lovely and there's plenty of seating with more upstairs and several tables outside. I will definitely be visiting their bakery in the market now

This cafe has outside seating as well as ground floor and upstairs room. The toilets are upstairs so not suitable for everyone. There was background music playing, not too loud. Reading previous reviews, there may have been teething problems when first opened, but from my visit these seem to have been overcome. I had a good coffee and a cheese scone which came with butter and, unusually, a butter knife. The cafe sells bread from their bakery.

We visited for lunch after calling in for a drink on a previous occasion and were not disappointed. The food was lovely, well presented and portion sizes were spot on. The drinks were also all very nice and the staff very welcoming and friendly. We also bought bread to take away and it was divine, we will definitely return and try other things from the menu. Our only improvement would be to have a children's menu.

North Street Solange café at lunch time. Busy so waited almost an hour for food to arrive - nothing came so asked and they hadn't passed our order onto the kitchen. Food came eventually - no sausage in the panini, dry bread, no salad dressing, no chips as requested. Asked for chips and some vinegar - the vinegar then came but no chips. Refund for 1 panini given but less than what we paid - they refunded us for vegetarian one. No offer of refunds or real apologies given. Never going back there again - dire customer service and waitress, the food mediocre.

We tried the Solange for the first time before Christmas and sat at a table near to the door, which unfortunately kept being left open and the elderly couple who were sat nearer to it than us, had to keep getting up to shut it to keep the cold out. We had a nice vegetarian sandwich, but it did take quite awhile to arrive. All in all it was quite good.

The Portuguese family who bake excellent bread, quiches and exquisite pastries in the Scarborough indoor market now, also have a cafe. Both the food and the coffee are first class - and you can also pick up freshly baked bread there - so long as you're early in the day. Not surprisingly, it sells out fast. The decor is comfortable, the upstairs room is snug and it is in every sense a most welcome addition to the centre of Scarborough.

We were visiting Scarborough for a day out and called into the market hall looking for antiques , it has been nicely refurbished since we last visited, no antiques today , but In the corner we found the Solange Artisan Bakery , another sort of treasure ! Delicious artisan baked bread, pizza, cakes . The owners were very helpful and friendly, we tried two different pizzas , both tasty and fresh with soft bread and generous toppings. Great value too ! We took away a millionaire tart and berry frangipani filo tart for later as pizza so filling. Just sad we live so far away as I’d be back every week .

I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served - by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

I came here during each visit from Canada and we were just getting ready to return again. I am just shocked to find out that they have closed permanently and I can only live with my memories. I wanted to bring my wife there for what I hoped would be another incredible weekend. I can only hope the very best for the family and say thanks for all of the memories and the fantastic bar towels that I still have after 20 years Thank you. Muchas gracias. Hvala, arrigoto, Merci,

We had a nice English breakfast for the start of our walk. Not the best ever perhaps, but enjoyable and open at 7:30. Prices are reasonable, but cash only

We had the unfortunate "luck" of spending a night at this place. Got a "suite" under the creaky flooring of the pub with noise-channelling ventilation ducts overhead, a substandard kitchen with no cupboards and wobbly table, a toilet with no ventilation, exposed pipes and disjointed faucet and a door with no handle in sight... All this came with a delayed check-in and service that leaves much to hope for. While the rooms above the pub may make for a better night's sleep, there is little hope that could improve this establishment's culture of hospitality.

What’s really interesting about this cafe is that it’s part of the now closed second funicular tram at the top. Loved the Yorkshire owner of the cafe ☕️. Great bacon rolls before we checked into The Grand next door 🚪 (which we liked ❤️ too)
