Amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere. I went with 2 close friends for a birthday celebration, we had some gorgeous food and a great time. I was so ready for the food the my photos are not as good as usual 😊.

Used Uber eats to order a birthday meal - we had been wanting to try for a while, perhaps it was good we hadnt...! Food is on the expensive side, but happy to pay for quality....except thats not really what we got. The momos are essentially gyozas - which is dissapointing and also misleading - expecting something steamed only to get something fried. The duck baos were good. Our main issue lies within the 2 curries we ordered - one chicken and one pumpkin katsu. They sent the chicken katsu with the advertised rice and as a curry dish - expect there were bits of undercooked chicken. The pumpkin one however came with no rice or sauce....so we called the restaurant to try and resolve. They said they would send out the full dish and pick up the pumpkin here - perfect - fine. Lady on phone seemed unbothered by undercooked chicken. 35 mins passes - they advise they will not be sending anything out - so the incorrect pumpkin we had actually recieved has now been sat in a tupperware since it left their restaurant an hour and a half ago.....so now cold and soggy? Again...no mention of the undercooked chicken. They have also only mentioned the pumpkin issue to uber- meaning the ticket is now closed and we cannot raise any other issues. Dissapointing - unfortunately couldnt reccomend food or service - which is a shame.

Well priced and really tasty. The bun platter was outstanding and the sushi was really tasty too

First impression, this is a busy restaurant during meal times. There are 2 levels of sitting. The main level which is busy, and the basement, which is kinda sad. Remember to ask for the main level table. Wide range of Japanese and Korean food on the menu and we tried both. Overall, the tastes were pretty authentic. The portion was quite big also, so do ask the staff if you had over ordered. The bulgogi is a bit too dry to my liking but the ramen is on point. Also had some warm sake and I find the price quite comfortable.

i went there two nights (pretty close to each other) and the quality of the unagi (eel) rice dish changed drastically. one night was 5 stars then the next was 3 stars max. the playing sides for the same exact dish were also different. my friend got the beef bulgogi the second night and found it fairly unseasoned. the passion fruit mocktail was amazing both nights.

Amazing food, great customer service. Kimchi to die for would recommend for any occasion.

Such a lovely place! Came here on a recommendation and don’t regret it, thanks so much to the server who brought out a free cheesecake and sang happy birthday to my dad on their own accord - such a nice thing to do! Will definitely be returning. 😊

Great place to visit, friend staff lovely food, we will be back again

Tough one. My ramen was a bit underwhelming – really bland, just a tiny bit of pork and bulked up with tinned sweetcorn. BUT my friend had the beef teriyaki and that was incredible. Loads of tender beef, hot sticky rice, just the right amount of heat etc. Other reviewers have mentioned the loud music which is a bit much but they did turn it down when we asked. Prices very reasonable so I’ll go back for the super beef.

Unagi rice bowl was mediocre, the chicken wings were so bad, it tasted like the chicken was cooked ages ago and it was only reheated. Not crunch, not crispy, was super super soggy.

The staff here has never been very nice, but today they were straight-up awful. Once we ordered our food, the waiter came back and told us we had to change our order because the kitchen was busy and it would take too long to make what we wanted. We have been coming here forever and we've never had a problem with this dish before. The manager lady got all pissy and just turned her back on me and walked away. Then, they brought out everyone else's food, but mine was nowhere to be seen. I waited for like 5 minutes and then I asked about my order and was told the kitchen was still making it. I asked to speak to the manager who did not come to see me. When my food was ready, the waiter just threw my plate on the table without even looking at me. I was so offended, and they didn't even have the decency to apologize. Honestly, I've never come across such a rude staff in my life. But, at least the food was good, I guess.

We came for my partners birthday and we had a fabulous time. The food was amazing, atmosphere was lovely from the music to the overall decor so welcoming and a really lovely place to be so thank you! We would definitely recommend thank you so much for making our night so special!

The food was really not good and over priced, the kimchi stew didn’t have any kimchi in it it was just a spicy stew with no flavor ;(, I also ordered del dragon sushi and that too wasn’t good, rip bbq was just ok, the only good dish was chicken ramen only… I drove all the way to this place based on reviews said that the food is good and disappointedly it was not at all

Felt expensive. I would stick to the grill. Probably book in advance. - King prawns (BBQ on sizzling plate) looked impressive, but even though they butterflied them, they left the poop sac in so they were bitter. Not worth £14. - chicken wings had the inconsistent temperature distribution and fall-off-the-bone texture of wings that had been reheated in a microwave. Gochujang flavours were great though. - spicy lamb noodles were alright. The lamb was tender but I’d have preferred thinner noodles. - The nigiri platter was nice but the wasabi tasted cheap, the ginger wasn’t great and there wasn’t premium soy sauce.

Food was great and lots of it. Staff really friendly.

We ate here last night and although the food was lovely the service was terrible. We were sat at a table next to a speaker that was blasting music, to the point we couldn’t hear each other talk. I had to ask for it to be turned down. The doors were also wide open where we sat which made it very cold. Two of us ordered a set menu and the other two a small plate for starter and then mains. At first, both small plates arrived with both mains. We asked them to take the mains back so they could eat the starters. About 15-20 minutes later the first part of the set menu arrived, which meant the other two guests had finished their starters. This theme repeated when the mains arrived for the other two guests but the main part of the set menu didn’t arrive until the other two guests had finished their mains. This meant throughout the meal, only half the table was eating at a time. At one point I asked if they could check when the rest of the set menu would come and the person never came back to tell me. We were also never offered extra drinks, we had to flag someone down to ask. The same for cutlery, one person was sat with their starter for a while before we could flag someone down to ask for it. The food was really tasty but unfortunately the service really let the meal down and would prevent me returning.

The restaurant is clean and visually appealing- really nicely decorated, you definitely can feel like you are in a higher end restaurant and it is a very pleasant experience simply just sitting at the table. When it comes to prices, the menu offers cheap and affordable options which is greatly appreciated as it can fit all budgets. What caught my attention was the intriguing fact that this restaurant offers a split menu with Japanese and Korean food which is a nice option to have in Newcastle when you can't decide which cuisine you would rather enjoy that day. Another reason this restaurant caught my attention was because they have Ja Jang Myun on their menu, which in my experience is a difficult find. Despite this fact, I have actually not ordered this meal during my visit and have instead ordered Yuk Gae Jang and a Tuna Temaki Roll which are both pictured in my photo. The soup has stayed hot for very long and it made me fall behind when eating this dish so the company I had with me had to sit there waiting for me to finish- even so, I had to take the rest of the meal back home. The soup did taste nice, not as flavourful as I wanted it to be but the spiciness level was pleasant as it was not the type that you need to chug milk after. The temaki was also tasty and fresh but I feel like it could be more flavourful in some ways. I have not come back yet to this restaurant despite the pleasant experience, however, writing this review has made me wonder why haven't I visited again? Unable to find a reason as to why I decided I definitely will be coming back soon to try the other dishes their menu has to offer and I am looking forward to it.

Service was alright and the atmosphere was ok but the food wasn't very good. It was prenstented well, but lacked seasoning and flavour,the sushi wasn't fresh. It was not as authentic as it claimed to be, which was evident by the clientele. An overall disappointing experience.

Had a table booked for 6pm, had to wait ten minutes for it to be ready and then ordered five meals straight away with a member of staff, from the table. By 6.50 we asked when it would be ready and explained that if it didn't arrive soon we would have to go as we were on our way to a football match. We were told our order would be the next out of the kitchen - which it wasn't as I could see other orders coming out of the kitchen door. When we were eventually served, over an hour after we had arrived, only three of the five meals we had ordered arrived! There was no explanation why, no apology and no attempt to rectify this. Appalling situation. I feel sorry for the staff as it was very busy, but the restaurant should not take bookings for diners on match days if they cant cope with high volumes. The staff were running round like headless chickens - I watched one waiter carry a plate of soft shell crab around the place and in / out of the kitchen three times before finding the right table. The table next to us were given a random starter they hadn't ordered but did not get their mains, again with no explanation. Never again ...

Great place to eat in the city for those that like Korean and Japanese food. We had very good service and amazing food for a very decent price.

Excellent restaurant in a good central location in Newcastle. Menu includes the usual things like Teriyaki but lots of other interesting Japanese and Korean dishes. I opted for the Korean grilled squid which was excellent, perfectly cooked and a generous amount. Great value for money, great food and service.

Come here all the time with my partner and occasionally birthday dinners with friends. Lovely place, lovely staff and amazing food.

Food is horrendou, the seafood platter is a complete rip off, dont waste your time and money

The place looked clean. Waiters were helpful and discrete. Location is easy enough to get to from Eldon square and from any of the Multistory carparks. My friend who came with me will probably have noticed I was not overly excited over the food. Maybe we were chatting too much - but the food was cold when I started to eat it. Perhaps it's my ignorance, that Japanese/Koreans don't have their food piping hot. It was "nice" enough, but for the price, I wanted to be amazed. This was not amazing! It was "good enough" so as not to be "bad." The Sake (£2.50 for 25ml) was over rated; it was like a whisky that's gone moldy; not a fan. The grilled squid, whilst tasting grilled, lacked taste in the sauces that accompanied it. The sushi - was poor; didn't excite me at all. And the Miso Soup was bland; and was in very small bowls. All the portions were small. No salt too - and poorly seasoned. I will not be coming back - sorry. My friend loves this place, but my Filipino mam can make better squid and miso soup. Why pay the money for something inferior to home cooking?

Brilliant service with excellent food!!

I would like to give this a higher rating, but the seafood dish was meagre in the seafood it contained - perhaps trying to keep prices down is affecting portion size - and the pork dish needed more attention to the cutting up of the pork, unless that is, Koreans expect long stringy lengths of meat? Some dishes are very spicy, and unlike many sub-continent restaurants there is no menu symbol to indicate how how the dishes are. Staff were friendly and service was speedy, although it took a bit of time before anyone noticed us and came to take us to a table. It was also odd to be asked if we had booked in a restaurant where few tables were occupied either when we arrived or during the whole of our stay. I would give it another go, my companion might not be so willing to do so.

Food was really, really good. Our waitress was lovely, it was however a match day and the noise in the restaurant was phenomenal and not helped by the background music. Interestingly they switched the music off once everyone left and it was really nice. I would definitely go back but never again on a match day

Loved the Chicken Katsu Curry! The atmosphere inside feels like a high-end restaurant, and the friendly staff make the experience even better. While the waiting time can be a bit long and despite being slightly pricy, the overall experience makes it absolutely worth it! The chicken and beef are halal which is wonderful. Been a few times, would recommend!

The korean noodles were fantastic. I am going to come back the next week again. The waitress was nice and lool after us all the time.

A quick early meal required. Walk-in and quickly sat down. Ordered the meat platter meal. Food good, service a little slow. Bathrooms need some TLC. Slightly disappointed.

Never eating here again. My friend was served raw chicken with her ramen and when asked for it to be re made, the waiter didn’t apologise. The new dish came back with the wrong noodles and the chicken still raw. When bringing this up the waiter didn’t apologise again and just suggested we cancel the order instead of getting a new one? I woke up the next day with food poisoning. It was also very hard to get ahold of a server when needing assistance and they missed off a starter we had ordered.

Ordered Koran beef stew. It tasted very nice but a little oily. Chief complaint but a major one!!! Please advise customers that the dish is extremely hot. I burned my lips and tongue on the first bite and I still have a blister on the roof of my mouth ten hours later!!! Totally unacceptable. I’ve never had that experience in any restaurant I’ve visited ever. Horrific. Not recommended. Please ward customers if you are serving dishes that are extremely hot.

Went around 3pm on a weekday. Was very quiet inside with only 2 tables of guests. Food was decent for the price. Lady did only manage to eat half of her dish, as there was a lot of rice. Will try this place again maybe in evening. Staff were mainly sat around at a table chatting and playing on phone since it was quiet.

Bit of a waste of money, just bad food, one to skip

AVOID! The food was flavourless with no salt and seasoning. Tasted stale!

Attended here with my wife and another couple. It was the night of the Sam Fender gig and the bar was packed, but we found a table downstairs and when the servers got time to come and attend as they were very pleasant. They had a good range of beers and some nice cocktails. We shared a seafood platter, teriyaki beef, chicken noodles and some miso soup. Generally the food was very good. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was excellent, but each of the individual components on the seafood platter were really tasty. There was this grilled barbecue octopus which was really delicious. Also, as per other reviews, the scallops and the soft shell crab were both really good too! All in all, I would definitely attend again lunch or dinner!

On arrival we were put into a small corner by the bar, where we had the phone ringing in our ear all night with a wobbly table and wobbly chairs. My girlfriend ordered a ramen which was nice, and I ordered the ribeye steak medium-rare which came well-done and dry, with no flavour. The rice was tasty but was such a small portion that after the rice and a steak I had to get a pizza from tesco on the way home. We also ordered sushi that came way after we finished our meal, which looked and tasted like it had been sat out for hours. The wine was as expected and reasonably priced, and there was a good atmosphere. I'm willing to put it down to a bad day because most of the reviews are stellar but I left very disappointed and probably won't bother coming back.

Food was disappointing. It lacked flavor. Service wasn't great either. Their quality has gone down.

Ordered drinks and food at the same time. After half an hour I asked where the drinks were and I was told they’d be straight over. 15 minutes later, still no sign of them. 2 starters came, but by the time we had been there an hour, still no drinks despite asking. We paid for the two starters then left. Shocking service.

Amazing food and certainly don't skimp on portions was really good

My daughter and I went to Soho for dinner to see what it was like. We had the dumplings as a starter with a cocktail each, followed by beef sizzling BBQ and pork sizzling BBQ with rice and kimchi on the side. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. We both remarked on how tender both beef and pork were. Looking forward to returning to try other things on the menu.

The entire experience was special. The welcome, the service and food all top class. You have to try it!

I'd like this review to be useful and easily readable, so I'll write in bullet points: - We, a party of two 30-year-olds, visited on a quiet Wednesday evening (18:00) - Only 2 other tables occupied on arrival - Venue was very loud, we had to move table and it was still too loud - Waiter was suuuper moody, but we don't hold that against him - The order: Spicy Pork Belly Ramen (x2)- broth had zero flavour, noodles were completely waterlogged, mushy Prawn Tempura - crisp, the sauce was good, straight from a bottle, useless half a cucumber on the plate, however Takoyaki - undercooked, raw inside, octopus was the size of a grain of rice, somewhat saved by the sauce, again - straight from a bottle Kimchi Set - cucumber and radish dishes were fine, chilled and quite plain, but the cabbage was warm, and tasted and smelled very bad I have both lived in and travelled Japan and South Korea extensively and can confidently say that this is a very poor representation of their respective dishes. The cabbage kimchi should not be sold like that, it was disgusting. I'm still on the hunt for decent ramen in Newcastle.

We actually had 3 lunches here in the same week. The place has a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. The food arrived in good time and was superb, also well priced we though, especially the Korean Ribs as there was such a generous portion. We had a mix of Japanese and Korean dishes - all excellent. Will be back again!

Stunning food so reasonably priced can't wait to come back

Decided to give it a try since I tried most asian, sushi palces around. For the not very generous prices, the service and food were quite bad. My spicy korean fried chicken was ultra sweet, at least I had desert I guess. The portions are very, very small, you'd think fancy restaurants usually offer smaller portions but better quality in food, nope The second chicken portion I got was charred on the outside and close to undercooked on the inside (sign of the food just being thrown on an already hot pan, probably used to cook other dishes beforehand). Very low portion of salmon in the salmon dish, forgot one of the key ingredients in the tobiko dish. Literally no salt on anything. Staff was polite enough but hard to get their attention even though it wasn't busy.

Have visited here several times. The food is always delicious. We tend to go for small 4 or 5 plates and share.

Nice location, with friendly staff. The sushi is always lovely, and the Bao Buns are my absolute favorite. The ramen is a bit hit or miss, the first time the broth was incredibly salty, the following time the broth was perfect but the piece of chicken was chewy and gristly. On more than one of my visits our drinks have been forgotten & we have had to ask for them after our food arrives.

Brilliant atmosphere and accommodating staff

The meals were mostly fine, up to a competent home cooked standard. The kimchi pancake was sloppy and undercooked, fell apart when touched. The worst was that the server openly asked at the table if I was going to tip, and by how much, and then charged the tip on top of the service charge already included in the bill. Embarrassing and felt ripped off.

Delicious food, great service, good variety and reasonable prices. I recommend the Dolsot Bimbimbap and the chocolate fudge cake.

Now I love a big bowl of Ramen, this was mixed seafood, the broth absolutely delicious, seafood fresh and I also ordered Unagi ( eel ) delicious, will definitely be going back.

I don't recommend this place because - slow service - terrible customer service - the staff ask if you are okay but dismiss what you say as soon as they walk away - ordered my food several times, after an hour I cancelled this since I didn't receive it and still charged me for the food. didn't even get a sorry or anything from the staff, chef or manager. -Dont recommend wearing light clothes since they stained my light clothing.

Currently my fave restaurant! Wish could go more often but live 45 miles away! We always order temaki salmon rolls, the soft shell crab and ox tongue on hot plate. Spicy kimchi ramen and salmon tartare are delicious too. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Considering everything is booked to order, the wait time is relatively quick. Definitely recommend 👍

Terrible food with no taste, I had a choice between 2 salmon dishes and asked the waiter to recommend me one of them, he had no clue, just stood the murmuring to himself, tiny child’s portions, rice with small amount of rotten vegetables and tiny pieces of salmon for £14 daylight robbery, extra drinks added to the bill that we did not order, the place smelt like a public toilet, Not really a restaurant you’d want to take your family, more like a badly ran canteen, I can’t believe it’s worse than chilli paddi

I went with my daughter. We ordered a few things from the menu and drinks, drinks took ages to come and the cocktail was made wrong so we sent it back. The meals looked good but were terrible, very fatty meat in the lamb noodles. Staff were slow and there was no atmosphere. Definitely a place to avoid.

We ordered off the special vegan menu after researching this restaurant online. Unfortunately we were disappointed to be served fish and when asked the waitresses seemed surprised we didn't want it. Service was friendly but slow and the restaurant wasn't busy. Items were missing from dishes. The katsu starter had no sauce and the aubergine main was also missing any additional sauce/ dressing other than a slight glaze. We had our toddler with us and ordered a side of edamame which came with chilli as standard (our fault, we should have asked, but it wasn't advertised.) Overall a disappointing experience.

Food was delicious. Karagee chicken was my fave. We also tried dorayaki and mochi sesame ice-cream. So good! It takes a while to get service but staff was very friendly :)

The food was great we probably arrived on a shift change so service was disrupted, but it got there eventually Would go again.

Food absolutely delicious, but the service was a bit slow

Enjoyed a lovely authentic lunch, compiled of traditional Japanese/Korean small plates, sushi and cocktails. The veg tempura was a comforting and delicious way to start, and the meat on the Korean wings fell off the bone, very nice (we went spicy). The slow cooked pork belly was not to my taste as the fat was not rendered down and the pork was rather chewy for something slow cooked, however the octopus takoyaki was a real treat! The Californian rolls were nice enough and had a form of roe encasing the outside which was a lovely touch. Finally the Asia daisy cocktail was light and refreshing, the perfect tipple to accompany the meal.

Really lovely little place, with an intriguing mix of Korean and Japanese dishes. Great for simple sushi, or for the perfect bimbimbap if you're after something hearty on a Sunday. Plenty of tables and room for walk-ins. They did have a few items off menu due to freshness and stock concerns, but we're happy to substitute when required. Recommended for a lazy Sunday lunch, or a weekday casual evening meal.

Was OK. 4 tiny little chicken wings £8 😳 Mains weren't much to write home about! Not much atmosphere in the place!

Food was ok but I wouldn't say they are using the best quality of produce. I got some chicken wings which we only had 2 off the plate. They were poor quality. We did ask for a refund but was denied. They didn't do a children's menu either. My son enjoyed the chilli beef noodles.

Came for lunch on a Saturday with my other half - he had the Pork Bulgogi with a side of steamed rice and I had Seafood Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki. The Okonomiyaki was super filling and had loads of octopus and prawns in, and the Takoyaki was nice and chewy. The Bulgogi had great flavour, but check when ordering meat dishes if they come with rice - the Bulgogi didn't but luckily we checked first. Drinks are a little expensive, but the food makes up for it. Would definitely come again!

First visit to this restaurant after a recommendation. Amazed at the cost of a meal, two starters, two main meals, all for £39. Can't fault the food, menu and service, all excellent, and Stella on draught! Will definitely do another visit on one of my future visits home.

Went here with our sons who are at uni in Newcastle. Wednesday night, about half full. Pleasant atmosphere and warm inside. The food was lovely. We had four Japanese starters.. Spicy squid, Tebaski wings, Takoyaki octopus balls and Wasabi prawns, all superb. Then Beef teriyaki...

Sadly not the place for me 😔 I usually love Japanese and Korean food but I'd already heard mixed reviews before visiting. I didn't think the food we ordered tasted very authentic - it was quite bland. However, the presentation of the dishes was lovely. Staff were really polite and helpful. The restaurant itself was clean but not very Asian-looking - it could've done with a bit more of a Japanese/Korean vibe. I felt like it was one of those "boujee" places that people pose in for fancy Insta pics. I'm not in a rush to go back - I really hope the quality of the food improves because they are specialising in 2 brilliant cuisines.
