The food was absolutely amazing, we couldn’t fault it. There’s a great choice of drinks, we really enjoyed those also. Food came out really quickly & was so delicious - 10/10, we will be back.

The online booking system is a nightmare and the prepayment offensive I almost gave up and went elsewhere because of it I won’t use it again I ll walk in or go elsewhere there’s plenty of other places to go nearby Having go there the food was excellent good service and pleasant and helpful staff I ll go again but I won’t be booking

Beautiful locally sourced ingredients cooked perfectly. Friendly speedy service. Premises made hash browns out of this world. Local tea and coffee excellent.

Had the breakfast special and a milky bar kid iced latte, been to a lot of places for breakfast but this was easily the best I have had

We ordered the steak and eggs and the toon pastrami sandwich with house fries. Firstly the steak and fries were delicious the homemade red and green sauces were lovely. The hash browns are the best we have ever tasted. However, the pastrami sandwich was like chewing shoe leather. The meat was so dry and overcooked and cut too thick you couldn’t chew through it. The sauces were watery so added nothing and the pickled seemed like just regular cucumber sliced and dipped in vinegar. The fries were soggy and disappointing. Overall the visit was hit and miss and we won’t visit again due to the inconsistency of the food. Shame because the setting is lovely and the service from the friendly staff is fabulous.

We visited on a Saturday morning (we did pre book) and the visit was amazing! We had our dog with us and the staff were great. They were attentive and very friendly. We decided on the Steak and eggs & Big Un breakfast. All was cooked to perfection and came in great time considering it’s all cooked on a live fire! Would 100% recommend the red pepper dip too 😍

We had been for dinner service and it was great before. But we had tried brunch and it was fantastic. Tried something different with the sheep thrills which was very nice and the breakfast muffin. Would fully recommend adding the home made hash browns on whenever you can! They are phenomenal and the home made ketchup is great too.

Came here for lunch and I was pleased we had booked as it’s just a small place and clearly very popular as people were getting turned away due to be full! Although only a small menu it there was plenty of choice and it was great value for money as the food was spectacular with great portion sizes, we left absolutely stuffed! The surf and turf which I ordered was so tasty, one of the best surf and turfs I’ve had. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese balls as a side, they were the best ones I’ve ever had and I literally can’t wait to have them again. The staff were friendly but the only thing that let us down was that the service was quite slow. The food was absolutely worth the wait however even still over 30 minutes was to long to wait for it but hopefully they were just having a ‘bad/slow’ day. I will go again and I would definitely recommend booking and visiting! I’ve heard the breakfast is great as well.

One of the best places I've been for steak - a small but excellent menu! The steak dinner is recommended.

Had couple of the sandwiches at lunch time The pastrami one was very good and about worth the price. The steak and chip one very disappointing. The steak was chewy and gristly and left bits that couldn’t chew. It was also bit too rare and not much of it in the sandwich which was expensive Not as expected. Nice bread Few average chips The ketchup ok but nothing special over heinz Without any alcohol it still cost over £30 for lunch and not good value Nice atmosphere and place but also not much room between some tables Expected better

We both had surf and turf … the meat was from a great local butcher block and bottle .. and beautifully cooked the prawns were also plump and tasty . Salad and chips just delicious … and I discovered a wonderful grapefruit beer xx Very comfy seating and lovely atmosphere ..

Wow - this place is EXCEPTIONAL! I came for brunch with my man and my bestie on a hungover and busy Saturday. Luckily I booked and we got a delicious coffee to liven us up. Every one of us THRIVED on our choices - my man got steak and eggs with hash browns, as well as half a biscoff croffle. THE CROFFLE WAS AMAZING!!! I got a coconut prawn sandwich, while my bestie got the halloumi and aubergine sarnie. The bread and fillings were so delicious and moreish - huge portion too! We also grabbed some mac and cheese balls that were rich and so flavoursome. We even got a doggy bag to take it home to relive the delicious experience. I can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu - easily the best brunch in Heaton!

Lovely vibe in here, staff are lovely! Had breakfast, coffee was fab and the breakfast was great, little bit steep adding a piece of black pudding for £1.50 as the breakfast wasn’t cheap, came with a fried egg and asked to change to scrambled but it came as it came, would be great if you could choose your egg type as this is the norm with most breakfast places! Would 100% come again, was delicious!

What a lunch! Just the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long time. Steak from the block and bottle which is just a few doors away. Presented beautifully and tastes amazing. This place is also clean and fresh inside. Absolutely wonderful Thank you!

Why oh why didn’t I take a pic of the most delicious sandwich I’ve ever eaten?!! The king prawns in coconut panko breadcrumbs we’re delish, as was the steak and fries and pastrami in sour dough (according to son and hubby). The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the tiny little place has a very cool, laid back vibe. Everyone who appreciates quality, fresh food made with love would come back here time after time! We will be most definitely back!!!!!

Absolutely delicious brunch! We ordered the daily special which was steak and chips sandwich on rye bread, steak and eggs and one biscoff croffle between us, all of it so tasty! My sandwich was epic, the bread was so soft and the steak from Block & Bottle so tender. We had one Coke Zero and one latte and the bill came to £35. Service was great, lovely friendly staff and dog friendly, always a bonus. We will definitely be returning!

Went here with a couple of friends after rave reviews from the wife. Was NOT disappointed! Staff were really friendly and the menu was right up my street. I opted for The Big Un, with extra black pudding. The sausages were proper butchers sausages, not the cheap watery crap that so many restaurants serve these days, and the hash browns were unreal! Absolute 10 out of 10 all round!

We have been a few times and every time the food and service is exceptional. They use the best quality local produce and have regular specials. Don’t stand in a Q down the road and give this place a try! It’s lush!
