Smashburger in Brighton and Hove

i really had a proper burger after a long time in the uk with a proper good taste

Although the inside of the burger was tasty, there wasn't enough of it to withstand the over dry rock hard gluten free bun which was an extra 50p. Such a shame. For a tenner, I expected more, Not a film prop. Feel like I just ate a dried out sink sponge. Sort the gluten free buns out please 🙏 they're gross

Lovely food, killer burgers and fries. Staff were super nice, smiley and chill, explaining their card machine was being a bit slow which they can't help. Only thing I can think which is a tiny little thing, a sign to the toilet would be lovely. Definitely will be coming back if Im around.

Love the burgers, always tasty but as all food these days, it's a little on the expensive side. £5.25 for "large fries" which are not large

Waited ages to be served in the resturant only to be told we are too busy to serve customers. Then couldn't get out the door as a delivery bike blocked the exit door opening. One of my worst ever experiences as a costumer. Sorry to inconvenience you with my time and attention by visiting you. I will never come again.

We waited for our burgers 40 minutes. And our waiter has been confused and gave our meal to another person. ! 5guys is better.

My wife & I went today 23rd February 2024. We went for the Double Classic Smash burger with fries and zero coke. 1st started eating the fries OMG real potato fries & absolutely fabulous. The perfect yes perfect fries, worth coming in for those alone. 2nd the burger was from another planet, it had to be nothing on earth tasted like it. It was on equal taste & flavour to my other favourite Uncle Sam's, now I have two favourite burger places. The pickles, lettuce, tomato & and onion was OMG what I love in a burger whole slices of tomato and onion, none of the chopped mince stuff like other international so called burger places. Atmosphere was great, music in the background my kind of music great soul. Staff friendly and attentive but not overly so, I like that. Now I only gave 4 star's would have been 5 stars, but for the fact the unlimited drink option on the menu was not on offer due to the machine being broken. I was looking forward to a couple of cold zero cokes just to add to my experience. My wife (The Boss) loved everything about it and so did I. Will be back again to try the unlimited drink option. If that is working then Smash Burgers should Smash the 5 stars! Lastly the toilets very much tidier & cleaner than other places I have been. Thank you Brighton Smash Burger. I'll be back! 😍😍😍😍

Wow. Totally inept of any hospitality. So called manager (really bad bleeched hair) made out that the till had broken even though they had served customers before and after us. I watched from across the street. This was down to two reasons. They were totally overwhelmed with online order's and, as the so called, Valentine's Day (14th & 15th February???) offer was exclusive to dine in only, they decided to make out the till was faulty to only concentrate on people who were paying full price. I work in catering, and I'm fully aware of every trick in the book. This so-called person in charge may not realise it, but he is slowly destroying this particular restaurant. His personal hygiene in between packing customer's online orders was terrible. Not once did he wash his hands after touching his nose. He didn't seem to have a cold but kept on rubbing his nose regardless of the consequences. I'm sure the food here is lovely, but after being turned away with two hungry kids and being fobbed off with the broken till story, I'm afraid this franchise will never receive any of my money. One star because the music was OK in a completely soulless restaurant.

Their burgers are excellent, possibly the best in Brighton, but whilst they use Just Eats for their delivery partners the service is appalling. I ordered delivery Smashburgers many times when they were delivered by Deliveroo and never had a problem. On two of the four or five occasions I have ordered delivery burgers since they switched to Just Eats they have delivered the wrong order. Last night was exceptionally bad. When I realised we had been given the wrong delivery I called Smashburger and they confirmed the rider had picked up the wrong bag but assured me my order would be delivered shortly. Twenty minutes later I called again and Conor told me that I would not be getting my order as Just Eats had refused to deliver it. Thanks for the warning Conor. Lucky I called as I could have been waiting longer. Conor told me that I should use the Just Eats app to ask for a refund, which I have. I think in the circumstances Conor and his team should hastily find another way of delivering their food, maybe a taxi at their expense?.. rather than leaving their customers hanging. I shall endeavour to contact the management of Smashburger in the week for a constructive chat. Whilst they continue to use Just Eats as their delivery partner I will be a very reluctant customer.

One of the best Burgers I've had in a long time. So glad we dropped in. Will 100% return.

My friends love it here. Don’t know if it was over sold to me or just wasn’t my jam. The server was very nice extremely helpful, just didn’t enjoy the burger as much as expected

Refused to give me tap water saying it was illegal, and their “freestyle” drink machine was out of order. Happy to take £30 off me though. Someone needs to use some common sense.

Different level of burger experience. To think I nearly went to Burger King instead!!! Madness. I could only afford the burger but they sneaked a few chips in to wash down. Class.

Good burger restaurant in the city centre. There are other options like chips with smashed patty burger and cheese, similar to hash potatoes. Refills drink available. Sweet potatoes fries option.

Call me a dinosaur but over £20 for veggie burger, chips and a choc milkshake just seems a rip off . Yes it was better, but not much better than MacDonalds . Staff cool, but no wow factor for the price sorry to say .

Ordered online and was unable to modify it so I had to ask the server to change my burger to have no pickles lettuce or tomato on my burger as a takeaway. So when I got home with my order I was quite shocked to see all of the above on it and was unable to eat it due to my serious allergy to pickles.

Today I came into store to redeem my free burger voucher that I got at my university freshers fair. I was denied from using it and informed that the worker had argued with the manager over this previously. The voucher was completely in date and I would have bought something alongside it. I was really upset about this as I am a struggling university student that has never tried smashburger before and would much rather give it a go for free and come back at a later date if I enjoyed it.

it was so nice here! i’ve just moved into brighton for university so still not really used to going out on my own for food, especially not in a new city, but the employees were kind and the food was absolutely amazing! i’ll definitely be back :)

Service was slow despite not being very busy. I was wondering if my food was going to arrive and when it did, it was so so. The burger fell apart into mince as I ate it

lovely burger and chips,but quite expensive

I visited the other day and ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger along with the BBQ Bacon Cheddar fries. The burger was super juicy and fries were nice and crispy. The service was really good too. My food was ready within 2-3 minutes and the staff were extremely friendly too (thank you, Craig, Debby and Myrtle!). I'd definitely visit again :)

Couple from Italy, we had dinner last night, super clean place and friendly and helpful staff. Fast service and generous and good portions.

We ordered dinner from Smashburger via Deliveroo. On the Smashburger menu on delivery app, there is so much choice for vegetarians, vegans & meat eaters alike. My partner ordered the Avocado Club & I ordered the Alternative Classic Smash & fries. We only had to wait half an hour for delivery. My Alternative Classic was a plant based burger with lettuce tomato pickles & vegan cheese & it was one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever eaten. It was so good. Would definitely order again & would highly recommend.

Really poor service, food everpriced . Asked for avcado club vegan and got normal burger, they did apologise and changed it . Asked for vegan mayo it took 5 min to get it. Definitely not the best value for money when you spend£ 37 for 2 burgers, chips and 2 drinks at fast good place .

Visited here today with my 12 year old son. Considering it was very busy the service was good. The food was excellent. It arrived piping hot and I highly recommend the smashed fries; cooked in oil, garlic and rosemary . We will definitely be returning when we visit Brighton again. Just gave it a four rating as it was slightly over-priced.

The burger and fries was tasty and very affordable. The kids meal was £5.50 and was even adequate for an adult. Soft Drinks aplenty. Nice place to eat in. Friendly staff and good service. Easily accessible from North Street and in the City Centre

What's with the salt guys? I used to like your burgers but the last two I ordered had so much salt in them you couldn't really taste the meat anymore. It was the same with fries. As it happened twice in a row it kind of put me off from ordering again to be honest.

I went at a time nobody was there so very quite, the bread in the burger came completely cold, so I asked the waiter to warm it up, she came back 5m later saying they couldn't do anything as it went through all the process already, so basically 5m later I had even a colder burger. Seriously you couldn't take the top off and put it in the grill for 30secs? Will never come again. And that was with me be the only one in the shop, imagine when they're busy..

I ordered a burger and chips and coffee. When the burger arrived I had to ask about the coffee and was told they were doing it . To be told later they don't do coffee. Then they refunded me for the coffee but if they don't do coffee why was charged for it when I ordered

I love smash burger! I usually get take aways with a gluten free bun. Thier patties are gluten free and their gf buns are really good. This occasion I visited instore and was currently on the keto diet so requested a no bun option with sweet potato fries and they displayed it in a way that made it feel really appealing. SMASH burger is always a treat when I visit Brighton. And their take away option is just as good as in store.

Impossible to order, we waited in line for at least 20 min before deciding to leave. There seemed to be a problem with some customers' credit card, which paralysed the entire thing, despite the fact that there were 3 staff members around. We had a very nice Burger King instead.

I've just tried to contact deliveroo as ordered through them. Over £70 for 4 burgers 3 chips and 2 drinks. All cold and the chips weren't cooked enough. Gave sachets of ketchup and mayo. Had high expectations for the price. The crispy chicken was good. But for the price the rest overall was terrible. Such a shame

Smallest burger I’ve ever paid for. Out of all the gourmet burger options this has to be most expensive and the least value. Also paid for refill drinks and neither machine worked. Small burgers, bad management. Ps.. the burger on my photo is a double!! … my glove size is medium … so I don’t have huge hands….

The best fast food burgers by far, their signature burger is next level where you can actually taste the beef in combo with a cracking salad and a beautiful sauce. Five blokes with bells on basically.

I adore smash burger ,its a great quality burger and is consistently good . Although on the more expensive end of the price range it is worth every penny . My favourite side is the loaded fries , being £7 makes them expensive but the portion, quality an taste makes them a winner for me . They make great shakes , although I would like more flavour choices what they do have are delicious ,thick and creamy .

Food came cold , Burger was soggy and cold as well as the patty being too fatty. The loaded fries came cold and was making me sick and cheese wasn’t even melted .The server just sat on her phone because of how empty the place was

For the first time ever I had to return food in a restaurant, my wife's burger was not quite cooked in the middle. Don't let this put you off though, staff were excellent & understanding. A fresh fully cooked burger was with us shortly after. The Mushroom Swiss & Oaklahoma Mushroom Blue were both fantastic

Unfortunately one very bad experience last week. I ordered through Deliveroo. The first order got spilled so had to be re-prepared. Driver took 1h30 minutes to arrive (nearly 1 hour on the first order) and when the food arrived it was stone cold. Asked for a refund and got refused. 2h30 minutes to arrive, cold food and the answer I got from customer services was: "you can leave your comments on the app to help restaurants improve for future deliveries" .. so here I am Had ordered several times before but won't be again. Sorry

Was left waiting for 45 minutes and when the food arrived I was served a beef burger even though I am vegetarian and had ordered the vegetarian version. The server was not aware and only when I asked if it was vegetarian they realised. They did not respond to us and simply left with the burger. When I got my correct order, after about an hour, the fries were practically drowning in salt. In response to the comment from smash burger: An apology over email is not “rectifying the situation”. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
