Limited choice and boiled chips. Oily and soggy. There is an oil shortage so get a portion and squeeze it into a bottle.

Best place for Fish and Chips in Didcot town. Portions are generous and price is fine. A great thing is that Edmond park is only 300 meters away and us a great spot to seat, eat and relax.

The staff here are always very friendly and the portions are always very big, we've been getting chips here for around 5 years. It has everything you expect from a good chip shop, but don't expect any frills.

Great little coffee shop. Had a very nice lunch there. Good choice of cakes too.

We had 2 x cod and 1 x large chips between us, with a curry sauce. The chips were a very large portion all of which were scraps not a full chip amongst them. The fish was in a mushy batter and the fish itself was tough. I don’t know when the fish was cooked but it wasn’t for a good few hours before selling it. On the plus side curry sauce was okay but not much too mess up with that though.

Best local chippy we have found. The only draw back its cash only. The portions are generous the quality is great.

Best chips in town. Portions are always a good size. Fish is always excellent as well. The curry sauce from Smarts is veey good with their chips. Wait time for takeaway is very quick. I've never had ti wait long for my order. Highly recommend this takeaway.

Nice food, good price, friendly staff

Tried to give this review 0! Chips were either hard or greasy, the sausage in batter was not sausage but patty (reconstituted meat) it tasted disgusting and was inedible! Only went to Smarts because the chip shop on Ladygrove was closed. Will NOT make that mistake again - don't waste your money yeuk!

Completely different to my experience, Iceland bought portion of Haddock quickly heated up in oil and soggy inside six weeks ago yeuk

The food is always very nice, the price is good and the staff (owners?) are friendly and welcoming. Although the range is broad, if they also did fish fritters and scraps I'd give it one more star in the rating.

Decent chip shop with quite reasonable food.

This is a very good chippy. It is in the middle of a housing estate. It serves up a great variety of lovely foods. Fish,chips ,curry sauce and much more.

Haven't been in here for a few years because last time I tried it wasn't great. I'm guessing they have a new manager because things were much improved this time, decent chips and fair portion size for the price too. They seemed to be cooking little and often which certainly helps. 4* only because the service wasn't friendly and the shop has really weird, dim lighting which makes it look dingy even though it appeared to be perfectly clean.

Smarts have built a well deserved empire throughout Oxfordshire. I've had fish and chips from most of their shops and it is always delicious. The prices are great and the portions are not stingy like some places, they are huge!

Never had a bad meal from this place. Always fresh. Always polite. Great choices. A proper chippy with proper chips.

Best fish and chip shop in Didcot! Their battered cod is very good size and price, excellent quality. Chips always taste fresh and are always soft and warm! Never hard or cold like you get from other takeaways. Their curry sauce is one of the best I have ever tried. We always come to this shop for our fish and chips and would never go anywhere else. Very friendly and smiley staff!

Smar's is a brilliant chippy - easily one of the best I've been to, ever.After seeing how high Smarts came on Tripadvisor we decided to make it our first chippy experience in Didcot and we're glad we did. It's everything you'd hope for in a chippy - proper sausages, tasty chicken, good gravy and all the extras. And the chips? Amazing. Proper chippy style chips, Just bear in mind they're exceptionally generous with chips - we ordered 'large chips' which usually means a slightly bigger than normal portion. At Smarts they genuinely handed me a bag big enough to hold a small child in. Seriously, absolutely massive - easily enough to feed two adults. Brilliant.

Thursday night treat night is a Smarts night. Best chips in town. Always good service, decent portion size and reasonably priced.

As the title says best fish and chip shop for miles. We love it !!! Huge portions and clean and friendly shop. Always happy and wanting too help. Even a small portion of chips feed us both with some left over. So do not go anywhere else

Huge burgers, Generous chips, Fresh battered sausages. All you could hope for. I frequented this place often while i lived in Didcot.

Visited late on a Sunday - Cash only, but there's a cash point up the road. Food was fantastic and this is my new favourite fish and chip shop. My only tip: Make sure you're hungry!

Smarts have quite a few outlets in Oxfordshire. We use both the Broadway and ladygrove outlets. Both give very generous portions and food is always well cooked and tasty.

One of the best fish & chips around in Didcot where you can get several verity of food like sausage,chicken,burger,nuggets & so on. Apart from that kids meal with cheaper price. Always large portion. Friendly people, better service what else we need.

毎週金曜日にはたくさんの人が買いに来る人気店です。注文すると、すぐ横で揚げているチップスと魚を紙で包んでくれます。家が歩いて１分くらいのところなので、帰って早速熱いうちに食べます。衣はサクサク、魚は肉厚でふっくらとしていて美味しい。揚げ物なので当然油はすごいのですが、塩とピネガー、そして少しのマスタードを付けるとさらに美味しい。チップスは買った時にトレイに詰め込まれるので、潰れて蒸気でしんなりしてしまって少し残念でも、全体的にとても満足のフィッシュ&チップスです。また買いに行くと思います。

The Smarts takeaway near the fire station provides generous portions of freshly-prepared fish and chips, one of my favourites, at a reasonable price.

Serves a good range of dishes other than fish and chips. In a nice central location with easy parking right outside. I regularly use this fish and chip shop and have always enjoyed a brief chat and good service. The staff always seem happy too which is good.

Getting good fish in Oxfordshire is a challenge, one that Smarts don't help with. The chips are ok and same for the sausages and other bits, but greasy tasteless fish ruins the meal
