Sky High Fish Bar in Brighton and Hove

Chicken balls was used in the same Fat as Fish! A combo of chicken balls tasting of fish 🤮🤮🤮 egg fried rice was ok won’t use it again, only if there is no food in the world!!! Considering there is a massive new buil near by, you would think they would up there game! Foods in the bin! Good Luck

Stopped by to get a fish and chip supper on the way home tonight, unfortunately, relied upon past experience from 5+ years ago. It was 7:30 pm so no queue, but this may be everyone else already knows how disgusting their food offering is? The large haddock appeared disappointingly battered (the batter had not risen and just looked flat on the fish fillet) BUT how can a chip shop mess up frying chips? The chips must have been cooked well before being served and it's disappointing they can believe they can sell off toasted chips and NOT get a bad review. Hate wasting food but there was no way this could be eaten unless you were starving. Attempted numerous times on getting home to tell them how disappointed the meal was looking, amazingly the phone was engaged constantly. In summary the most disappointing fish and chip takeaway ever.

Awful!!! After craving haddock and chips we were totally disappointed by the old dry chips and heavy battered fish!! Never again!!!!

Stopped here for a cheeky lunchtime take away and was most impressed with the food. Basically wanted fish & chips so settled on their lunch time special for £3.60 for which I wasn't expecting anything amazing but what a surprise. The batter was light, delicate and tasty, the fish succulent and perfectly cooked and the chips were fantastic. Also for the money the portions were very generous all served by friendly and helpful staff. If you like good fish and chips I highly recommend this place.

Popped in here on new years day after pretty much every other fish & chip shop being closed. I'm so glad we did. Awesome chips, amazing fish, all cooked fresh to order and huge portions for a great price. My new fave chippy in Brighton FOR SURE. Highly highly recommended

Chips are good too. Does Chinese food, but haven't tried that. All freshly cooked to order. East to park outside

I have used Sky High for many years and always good friendly service and great fish and chips, Saturday was no change fab cod and chips thank you.

Generous portions, nice crispy chips, the cod was cooked fresh to order, lovely bubbly batter which wasn’t excessively greasy. Recommend

There are two chip shops on portland rd,the other one does curry&chineese,sky high dont!. But the food is good given that chip shops have a limited choice of menu.

Been going here for ages one of the best about, would totally recommend. Only downside is they don't deliver

As this is near our home we sometimes call in there for fish and chips. The portions are a good size and are cooked to order. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable

We got fish and chips takeaway from here not too long ago. If you like your chip shop chips very crispy, you'll love it. Personally I prefer my chips a little softer so although tasty, it wasn't somewhere I would eat again - just my personal preference though!

I visit Sky High Occasionally at lunch time on Friday when working. It's always good to pre-order as everything is cooked fresh, including the chips. The lunchtime fish and chip special is really good value for money and the chip portions are decent sizes. Staff are friendly and prices are good.

Bought some chips today with a can of Diet Coke - today being march 28th 2017. Chips were nice as usual but the drink went out of date Dec 2015!! Blimey. Unacceptable and surprising from normally a good chippy.

Been going to this fish shop for years and I must say it's the best in Hove,the batter is never greasy and the chips never soggy and the two boys are really nice .

Had a long day Xmas shopping so decided on our way home to grab fish and chips... used this shop for last 5/6 years and always been amazing ... well what can I say horrific ... chips hard dark and dry ... and the haddock was the overdone and dry had to re over all the batter as that was overdone too ... after spending £15 on food I will never be returning

Once a week regular at Sky High for over 10 years now and just as good with the new owner as it has always been. Large portions of chips, Fish always fresh and tasty and best value for money in the area

Was excited to find this place so close to home. Whilst the chips were good the batter was stodgy and the sausages had little lumps of gristle in. Will give it a second chance though!

Never had a duff meal fry sky high although I don't eat fried fish so couldn't comment on it. Chips are always great though as are jumbo sausages and pies.

I haven't been back here for quite a while and having now done so do not intend to leave it so long next time. The usual high quality was still there and the great staff just add to the experience. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Check them out, you will not be disappointed.

I found the friendliness of the staff very refreshing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was of an excellent standard too. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit.

I have visited many times for great fish and chips, no complaints, always hot a freshly cooked. They were also doing fantastic Chinese food but, unfortunately lost their chef so have to stick to the great fish and chips for now.

This chip shop sells the best chips in Hove,with huge belly busting amounts I don't know what the rest of his menu tastes like but his chips are perfectly cooked they are always fresh hot chunky and fluffy inside,very friendly chinese guy and what I presume is his wife always pleasant to his customers ,despite having at least 6 other chip shops near my home I will always travel there,just for the chips alone yum yum.

Brighton a town trading on its sea side image, its a travesty therefore that this town has far more than its fair share of sub-par chip shops. It seems that anaemic greasy fries drawn from overcooked oil is all pervasive. For such establishments to be able thrive (or Fryve?) can only mean the locals have forgotten what a good chip tastes like. As a chip epicurean and resident of Brighton for 17 years I've roamed far and wide looking for the best establishments. Bankers (most will agree) is a good standby if your looking for somewhere decent not far from the Hove beach. However we regularly drive a 7 miles round trip to get our chips from the Skyhigh takeaway. If you want to sit-in and eat fish and chips then make your way to Bankers on Western Road. For take-a-way connoisseurs prepared to go a little off the beaten track this is the hidden gem you are looking for.Portion sizes do fluctuate depending on who is serving but we tend to find they err on the large side!
