Sky High Fish Bar in Brighton and Hove

I've been visiting Sky High Fish Bar since childhood, and it remains a standout. The family-run establishment is always welcoming, offering delicious food with impressive efficiency. It's also very affordable, especially compared to other fish and chip shops in the area. A large cod and chips costs just £10, which is fantastic value. The current staff are lovely and provide excellent service. I highly recommend Sky High Fish Bar.

The WORST chips EVER!!!!!!!!! Disgusting and all the dinners got thrown away!!! How anyone goes here Totally shocks me!!!!

The sweet and sour chicken balls weren't very nice, poor quality meat and fried in fish and chip fat. They tasted of fish and chips and the batter was dark, hard and crispy rather than golden and light. Prawn crackers tasted stale and greasy. King prawn chow mein was good though.

Just ordered Chinese food - was fresh and tasty - as good as anywhere else locally

Disgusting, greasy, overcooked and stodgy food. Tried this place as our local is shut on Tuesdays. Never again!!

It was all pretty good apart from the chicken balls, they were quite a bit greasy... That said I will be ordering again in the near future.

Chips always seem to be burn or undercooked

Chicken balls was used in the same Fat as Fish! A combo of chicken balls tasting of fish 🤮🤮🤮 egg fried rice was ok won’t use it again, only if there is no food in the world!!! Considering there is a massive new buil near by, you would think they would up there game! Foods in the bin! Good Luck

Have just recently discovered this chippie and I’m so glad I have. I fed a family of 5 for £14 last week (Sep 2022). Unlike other local chip shops Sky High is incredibly reasonable and affordable, as well as tasty. I’m definitely going to be a regular here. 5 out of 5 stars !

Great fish and chip shop the food is Exceptional. We buy fish and chips twice a week at times it's that good and so tasty. And there Vegetarian curry is unbelievable. And delivery is very quick I give 10/10

Truly the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls and Chicken Egg Fried Rice. The Chicken in the Sweet and Sour chicken balls was really tough and I had to check that it was actually cooked properly and the rice was so greasy. Not a pleasant experience at all which is such a shame as I have had their fish and chips in the past and that was lovely

Gorgeous food. Best fish & chips I’ve found in a long time ! Usually chips are dry and fish batter is too crispy BUT these were perfect. Chips yummy, fish really tasty and batter just right 👍

This is our regular we’ve been too for a few years now. Exceeds my expectations. Food is amazing and the staff are amazing. One of the things I love most is they don’t just do fish n chips but they also do Chinese food too! So a wide selection. One of the best takeaway places in Brighton & Hove. The prices are also very very reasonable and food is prepared within 10-15 mins.

Cooked to order and with attentive care, this is more than a fish bar but also Chinese food place. I got the chicken chow-mein and I was very happy with the food. Not a very long wait, amazingly priced and expertly packaged.

Chips were good fish not well drained very oily. Overall near to 5 stars

Great food and good value for money. The chips were exactly what I wanted, fresh and crispy. No awful soggy chips! Would definitely come back again!

Food was cooked to order. A good sized piece of cod and chips that were still crispy inside the paper wrapping 15mins later. The only thing that could be even better is the batter on the fish. Whilst it was totally fine and crispy, I have tasted tastier batter elsewhere.

Me and my bf are delivery drivers so we're always looking for chips in between of our deliveries. Out of all the fish and chips place in Brighton and Hove this is the BEST. The chips are always perfect, nice and crispy. The service is incredible, the young man behind the counter is friendly polite and always smiles under his facemaks. And is always happy to see us

Stopped by to get a fish and chip supper on the way home tonight, unfortunately, relied upon past experience from 5+ years ago. It was 7:30 pm so no queue, but this may be everyone else already knows how disgusting their food offering is? The large haddock appeared disappointingly battered (the batter had not risen and just looked flat on the fish fillet) BUT how can a chip shop mess up frying chips? The chips must have been cooked well before being served and it's disappointing they can believe they can sell off toasted chips and NOT get a bad review. Hate wasting food but there was no way this could be eaten unless you were starving. Attempted numerous times on getting home to tell them how disappointed the meal was looking, amazingly the phone was engaged constantly. In summary the most disappointing fish and chip takeaway ever.

Succulent fish, perfectly cooked chips, pleasant staff and decent prices. Look forward to trying the Chinese menu.

The chips were tasty and a good portion, but I ordered at 630. Estimated 720 arrived but no message or anything by 735, I texted and it was revised to 8pm due to delays. I called at 815 and was told maybe in 5 mins j can find out if it'll be 20 mins. The food arrived at 850 - 2hrs 20 mins for some chips, rice and an egg foo yung with no info, updates or warnings given. I just can't say I trust I won't be left starving hangry if I ordered again

Worst Chinese I've had. Starters were greasy and dry. Quarter duck looked like it has been taken out of freezer and fried not fresh at all. Prawn sweet & soar ball were ok but the sauce they came with wasn't nice. Won't be ordering from here again

Good delivery time and piping hot, but both the batter on the fish and the chips are way better at Ramsdens in Blatchington Road. Will pay the extra few quid for theirs in future.

The fish was dry and fatty The foo young was scrambled egg The ribs where thin and mostly fat The sweet and sour Hong Kong style was frozen chicken battered in a sickly sauce that made me gag. Chinese is usually my favourite food, give this place a miss.

The honey bbq ribs were a little heavy on the garlic for my taste but otherwise everything tasted great

We were sent the wrong order. Dinner for 1 not 6 people. It was eventually sorted and delicious, but disappointing to be so late.

The chicken balls wasn’t nice at all, more like chicken nuggets. Undercooked in the middle. Chicken burger was awful like jelly in the middle. Fish was full of grease actually pouring off the plate. Worst meal I’ve eaten ever £28 down the drain. Won’t be using again ever

Was okay but for over £30 for just 2 adults I'd expect much better. The prawn crackers very oily and stale, didnt eat. The special chowmein was dry, had hardly any "special" in it, no bean sprouts. Tiny bit of shredded chicken, and about 2/3 over cooked prawns. My duck dish for £6.50 small amount and overcooked dry fatty duck. In general, I won't order from here again .

Stopped here for a cheeky lunchtime take away and was most impressed with the food. Basically wanted fish & chips so settled on their lunch time special for £3.60 for which I wasn't expecting anything amazing but what a surprise. The batter was light, delicate and tasty, the fish succulent and perfectly cooked and the chips were fantastic. Also for the money the portions were very generous all served by friendly and helpful staff. If you like good fish and chips I highly recommend this place.
