Amazing service so friendly so much better than wolfies!! The curry sauce is amazing and such good quality and prices this is going to be my staple fish and chip shop anyone who loves a chicken burger come here! The chips are also so good and crispy never soggy couldn’t recommend this place enough

In my opinion the BEST fish and chips in Hove by far. Tried practically all of them and wkll always choose this place. Had a few owners over the years but the new owners are so lovely. Food both eat in and delivery is always fresh and piping hot, not soggy, saggy chips. Delivered always in amazing time even on a weekend, no more than 20 mins. Food is generous portions and more importantly, individually wrapped (hate it when places box several items into one box I e. Fish and sausage together with chips). The biggest portion of chips and Huss I have ever seen. Will not go anywhere else now. Spotlessly clean and lovely couple running it!

Absolutely delicious fish and chips! Very generous portion of chips, perfectly cooked, and a HUGE perfectly cooked fish in fabulous batter. I'll definitely be returning and am worried that this may mean I will have to up the number of visits to the gym! I can't recommend this chippy highly enough!

I am adding a review - as I wrote a review at the time, and for some reason it didn't take. I only had sausage and chips, but these were the BEST chips I've had in many a year, exceeded my expectations so much it was an actual surprise! Totally recommended, and the lady serving was so friendly, delightful and relatable, I found the whole experience terrific - when I am in Hove, I will return!

chips were still hard where they were undercooked. the fish was mush due to the soggy batter. I was so underwhelmed. Will not order from here again, waste of money.

This used to be the best chippy in Hove. Don’t know what’s happened since I last ordered but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. Fish was tiny and chips were anaemic the curry sauce was like baby food and at nearly £20 for delivery I won’t be ordering again sorry.

Food was cold, chips were dry, ordered jumbo sausages but got battered sausages, they were very oily and savaloy was cold.

I came there a month ago people was nice but the food I ordered was 2 steak and kidney and chips and curry sauce was like cement I used for my garden wall the steak and kidney pie gave me a stomach ache

The food was really good, and it arrived super quick too.

I was very disappointed with my PLAICE FILLET which was more skin and batter than actual fish;. it was certainly not worth £10. To make it worse it was somewhat overcooked which made some of the batter inedible. The rest of the meal was very good, the cod and the other plaice fillet were excellent. So it is difficult to award stars on 'food quality' with such discrepancy between orders.

Nice new owners Lovely thick chips and back to a decent sized portion. Long may it last. I will once again make it my go to chippy even though it's not my nearest.

In my opinion this is the second best chippy in Brighton and hove the first being the chippy at the top of whitehawk hill

Has a Minimum of £5 spend on Card so i did not go in there. Ridiculous when you just want some Chips.

Rude customer service - very abrupt and tried to over charge us an extra fish. Batter on fish was overly greasy and dripping in oil, had to beg for an extra wrapping sheet to soak up the oil. Stingy portion of large chips and the scampi was definitely frozen and not fresh and gave my friend a poorly stomach in the night. Wouldn’t be coming back and certainly won’t recommend.

Some days the chips are so beautifully crispy but we have had days when they are soaked in oil and are all soft with a slimy texture. The vegetarian options are overpriced for what they are (store bought pasties or for a veggie burger with no condiments). Other than that, chip can be really lovely if cooked right on the day.

Have been using Seahorse for years but have to say really gone down hill,usually best fish chips around but last couple of time not great, chips are small bits and hard batter on fish and sausages soggy not good at all always seem rushed perhaps get extra staff and up you game very disappointed.

Something changed with this place. Always used to be guaranteed perfectly crispy batter and good chips, but the last 3 times I've ordered it's been overly greasy, soggy and too much batter. Opinion has gone down sadly as this was my favourite place for fish and chips

Best Fish and Chips in the area and most competitive price too! Every time I get and chips from somewhere else it's never as good as the seahorse and I always wish I hadn't tried somewhere else. What I love: The chips are crispy and properly cooked: in other chippies chips can be white, barely cooked chunks of potato. The fish isn't overly fishy, there's no tail or skin on display, just fish fillet covered in tasty crispy batter.

We order from Seahorse regularly. Always pipping hot excellent fish a chips and very reasonable price wise Friendly professional family run restaurant I cannot recommend highly enough

The regular fish is BIG and only £4.50 and tasty. The chips are nice too. The owner is friendly. It says they close at 10pm, but get in before 9 30pm as they seem to stop cooking chips!

Haddock was massive, chips a beautiful golden brown. Friendly service. Kids loved it, we loved it! Reasonably priced as well.

Best chippy ive been to in hove, better than wolfies. Lovely crispy chips and good sized fish size, often ask to eat in resturant, lovely to sit and watch the world go by. A lot cheaper than most places but far better quality.

The Seahorse is always a great bet for Fish and Chips. Always tastes fresh, clean oil and batter, and great value for money for a meal. Good sized portions too.

After trying most chippies in the area including the expensive one near Hove station which is so hipstery even the fish have beards, we discovered the Sea Horse. And what a find. The batter they use on their fish and sausages is so cripsy, and thick. They serve you super quickly and they are extremely good value. In the hipster place near the station a large cod is £8 at the Seahorse it's £5 and I much prefer it! If you're reading reviews looking for a good chippy then give the sea horse a go you won't be disappointed. Top tip: I always collect to ensure freshness, and always ask for no salt and vinegar on the fish and crucially ask for the fish to be wrapped separately! 😉

Ordered from Just Eat, food arrived 10mins early. One of the best fish and chips I've ever had, the fish was lovely and flakey and not too salty

Good ole family owned fish and chip shop. Food cooked to perfection. If you have bought fish and chips from Wolfies near Hove station, then try Sea Horse Fish & Chips and you will notice the difference in the quality, quantity, taste and price of Sea Horse. Sea Horse wins hands down.

Me and my dad have been coming for years. The best in Brighton ! If you can find a friendlier and a better quality of both fish & chips for value for money then goodluck!

So I came in and ordered 6 VEGETABLE rolls (for me and my pal who is vegetarians), after waiting 25 maybe longer maybe not, we went home only for me to bite into them and taste prawn and meat, it wasn’t a problem for me but this means my vegetarian friend could have bitten into it and eaten the meat and this isn’t acceptable, please do not false advertise or if this was a mistake please check ingredients and that staff are more careful
