On a coach trip to Southport we happened across "SKIES" and called in for cake and coffee The cake was amazing and the place was lovely and clean. We did however notice that the chap behind the bar ( "Owen" I believe) was running around serving people as was the actual chef ("Jason) and I asked why they didn't have more staff than 2 only to find out that a person sat at a table the whole time we were there was actually a staff member doing nothing at all to help. I was told his name was "Akash" when I asked. Its not at all nice to leave your team members to struggle whilst you sit around doing nothing. Hats of to the other two for providing a sterling service.

Absolutely loved this place, went in with my daughter for a coffee, looked at the menu and decided to order what we thought would be a light meal each, so surprised when the food arrived, it was all huge and absolutely gorgeous, great atmosphere and lovely garden outside, couldn't fault anything, will be returning very soon,

Went for a meal here after hearing good reviews from this newly opened restaurant. From the outside it looks very small and you could easily walk past as you do for a lot of places when out for a stroll along Lord Street. There is seating and tables outside if you want to watch the world go by or take in the views of Lord Street with the church and beautifully lit trees at night. The photos outside give you a hint of what's inside but do not do it justice. We decided to go in and was pleasantly surprised. For the Doctor Who fans it was like a Tardis. It goes way back and has an outside seating area and beer garden, there is a bar towards the rear with a beautiful ornate ceiling. The food was fantastic and we have been back a couple of times now, the best for me was the Nachos, they are nothing like you would find in a packet and are hand made and come with a salsa and guacamole dip. We had a chicken burger and a chicken salad and could not fault it. We have also had the curry and meatballs but have yet to try the platter which looked huge. The menu seams to change regularly so please KEEP THE NATCHOS.

Lovely and clean. Sat in terrace for couple of cocktails. Staff friendly. Not sure how long it's been open but tasteful decor. Would visit again

What a hidden gem -lovely garden area to sit in and the food was excellent. We had the gambas in garlic ,salt and pepper chicken and lamb curry -we loved it all and can’t wait to return. Attentive and polite staff too-definitely recommend this place!

I often stay in Southport as I lived there for 7 years. I arrived last night for 1 weeks stay and searched for English breakfast – to find the Whistle stop café, which I had not been to before. So I went there this morning for the English breakfast. It lived up to the reviews on Trip advisor – quality ingredients especially the sausages, black pud and bacon. The latte coffee was so good that I had 2 glasses of it. The price of this quality breakfast was very reasonable by todays standards. I will be going back there for the English breakfast and Latte coffee before I leave Southport.

Bit pricey. Was a draught from somewhere and as it was a Saturday it was busy and noisy. Service was good
