Singleton Fish Bar in Ashford

Amazing staff, food and service! After breaking down less than 2 miles from the restaurant in the middle of a thunderstorm, I phoned to see whether they would be able to deliver to a lay-by to help some stranded travellers. The staff were so kind and told us they would be happy to help! The food turned up within 15 minutes and was absolutely amazing. We hadn't ordered any drinks as we had a bottle of drink in the car yet they generously gave us 2 bottles of water free of charge to help us get through our ordeal! The kind delivery driver also offered us help and also offered to get us any supplies needed. We cannot thank you enough for your amazing hospitality and you turned our cold, wet and miserable 6 hour wait into a nice, warm and pleasant one! We will certainly pop in again when we are next in the area to thank you all personally!

Absolutely rubbish, cold savaloy cold chips, soggy fish not cooked fresh. Very, very, disappointing. Will never use again.

Did a Google search after coming back from Europe on the Eurotunnel, and I've got to say, outstanding. Only went for the kids meal of fish and chips (twice) and a separate portion of chips. Firstly great service from the lady behind the counter. The chips were probably the best I've had in years and the fish, even though only a kids portion, was far bigger than I expected and was cooked to perfection, good quality cod and a great crispy batter. The shop is clean and tidy and it was cooked to order, so was fresh and hot. Will definitely visit again when in Ashford.

A really lovely fish and chips. We arrived 10 minuted before closing and we were served with a smile. The bathroom was not greasy and the fish brilliantly fresh.

Very good Fish Bar in Singleton, another great place for Fish & Chips in Ashford. The shop is clean and modern, services is very good and the portion size is good. They do all the essentials plus a lot more extras. Highly Recommend!

Fish was over cooked , had no taste, batter was over cooked and couldn't eat it, child had a strange taste too them, definitely waste of money, won't be going back.. chicken nuggets were burnt and tasteless.

This place has the best jalapeño bites I have ever had! I’ve had many before. Staff are friendly and courteous, food is reasonably priced and in 5 years,has always been perfect. We are very lucky to have this shop nearby, thoroughly recommend.

Excellent service and a lovely tasting Cod

Absolutly fantaatic fish bar where the Cod and Chips are lovely and nice decent portions. I took friends and they were pleasantly surprised at the quality. I will certainly paying another visit.

Always arrives quickly. They picked up a mistake on our last order and sent both options with no extra charge.

We have been going here for the last 2 years but after new management fish batter wasn’t really crunchy and it was yellow colour… we tried it again on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious perfect crunchy batter even better haddock and of course chips were fresh and delicious as well! We will be back as this was best fish and chips in Ashford! Definitely recommend

Staff always seem happy, food is great value for cost and quality/quantity. Even when busy, they get the food out quickly and never have had an issue!

I tried this fish and chip shop for the first time last night and was quite disappointed. I ordered a gourmet burger and haddock and chips. Sadly the burger was poorly put together, the burger itself a grisly unflavoured Pattie. The chips were ok, but the batter on the Haddock was a little soggy. I am not sure what they add to the batter but it makes it a little yellow and dense rather than light and crispy.

First time ordering from here, which we did thru Just Eat. We ordered quite late for a Friday (8.30pm) but still received our order in 45 mins despite being about 7 miles away. Great food, good portions - we've got enough left for lunch tomorrow! Definitely recommend and will order again 😀

Ordered online for delivery. I'm only a mile away. Food was delivered after 15 minutes by polite driver. Put straight onto plates but was all just warm. Would of been good if it was hot. Won't be using delivery services again

Best fish and chips in Ashford, and the burgers are to die for give the Chicken Hawaiian burger with BBQ sauce a go it is very tasty.

never ordered from singleton fish bar before been in ashford a while now, my sister uses now and then as a treat and suggested i try here. but let me tell you the chips lovely,cod burger really nice,nuggetts nice,garlic chips really nice(chips with a garlic mayo sauce over them ) my point is i recommend people who have not tried singleton fish bar give it a try !! ok it doesnt have the greek street food but hey the chips are way nicer,friendly staff and the whole family enjoyed their dinner i would 100 percent go here again to order

Great service, great food, friendly staff. The chips are a bit large and a bit pale, but plenty of them.

Gravy was literally like water. Chip went in and came out the same colour. Food was overly salted and so half the family chips were not edible. Really disappointed and honestly, feeling ripped off.

Found this place very randomly on the way to Ashford centre. The shop itself is very clean and smells good. The service was immaculate! Ladies working behind the till were very attentive and helpful. Not a massive fan of fish and chips but their quality was surprisingly good! Not greasy like in most shops. Fish was tender and felt very fresh, chips with garlic sauce were delicious! I could not leave them without a review! Thank you for your service 😊

Caution, after the first visit you will just keep coming back, 10/10, excellent.

Been here many times before as it's one of the best. This time though the chips were really hard and cold and the fish was horrible tasting and tasted nothing like cod. Highly disappointed

Fish is fresh and battered well, crispy. Not greasy and a soggy mess like other places in Ashford. Chips are the same. I also recommend the burgers, can fill big appetites.

Nice selection of food and drinks available, reasonably priced too. Quick service even if you have to wait for food to be cooked. Food is packed well and stays warm until we get home. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking spaces although can get busy during the week.

Best chip shop in Ashford, the food was so fresh, tastiest fish we have ever had, the staff are so friendly even on a busy Friday night they are still upbeat and happy and the place is absolutely spotless, we didn’t have to wait long for our order even though it was huge, and it was absolutely perfect, won’t ever go anywhere else!

Excellent fish and chip shop!!! Passed by here for the first time today. I must say the food was absolutely delicious. Portions were good, fish very fresh and the staff were very polite and efficient. I will only get my Fri night fish & chips from here from now on. Try it guys you won't be disappointed!!! 👍

Had a large cod and chips the chips was very under cooked and the fish batter was soft and the fish was very dry such a shame wouldn't use again

Lovely food and a very clean and modern looking setup.

The food here has always been fine, but on two occasions now my food has been given to someone else and I have been left waiting there, on both occasions I've been accused of it being my fault and never has an apology been proffered.

Me encanta este chips! El personal siempre fue muy amable, la comida es muy sabrosa, pero normalmente de 25 + visitas todas fichas implicados, sólo dos veces no tienen las patatas fritas me gustó por ser demasiado grasiento.

Tried a couple of other local places, but always end up back here. Good, honest food and it's never a let down. Well done singleton!

Mi marido fue a comprar un gran bacalao sin embargo que se había acabado. Así que nos ofrecieron dos por el precio de una grande. No me lo podía creer cuando abrió la envoltura! Me sorprendió que eran regulares, ya que eran enormes! Mejores patatas fritas alrededor, me alegro de la utilización apropiada de patata!! Qué comida fantástica... Gracias! :-)

Nos encanta la comida de buena calidad desde aquí, especialmente la enorme porciones. El personal siempre es amable, y aunque no comas aquí con regularidad, que parecen reconocer nosotros y nos da la bienvenida como amigos. Hemos probado otras tiendas al otro lado de Ashford, pero ninguno se compara.

He estado aquí un par de veces ya que mover aquí y en cada ocasión el servicio ha sido excelente y la comida ha sido excelente. En cada ocasión he tenido mucho que no he podido comer todo lo que he tenido! Es una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda lo recomiendo a todos.

Tasty and good value for money. Fish is always cooked to order so is really fresh. The fish bar is popular so a short wait is often required but it is well worth it.

Great place to go, top quality lobster claws and seafood in general! Nice beverages too! By the beach and has a great view!

This is our regular chippie as food is always top quality, loads of it & very reasonably priced. The team in there are always very friendly. Sometimes a wait but only because the food is cooked to order, so that is not an issue. Easily best in Ashford.

If you like good quality fish and chips at sensible prices then you can't go wrong here. Service is also very good.

Went here on a Friday night. The service was quite quick and the food tasted good, cant complain really, was just fish and chips, got what I expected.

Been going to this shop for over 13 years , reluctant to go back again, the last couple of visits the fish & chips has been awful , shop wasn't busy & even had to wait for an OAP meal so was expecting a decent piece of fish, sadly thick batter & undercooked chips, my neighbours have said the same thing & even complained but still got the most disgusting batter ??, I must say the most annoying aspect of my 2 recent visits is the childish attitude of the staff , one lady being there as long as I can remember & the other a chap frying who has no idea what he is doing , they seem more content in giggling & making remarks about eachother, if they are partners please leave it at home or somewhere customers can't hear, I won't go back & will be going to Mariano's from now on.

Purchased sausage and chips and fish and chips. Greasy and soggy. Wish they used better chips too! Disappointed with the service too, waited quite a while :-(

Really disappointed in the food I've just picked up from here, if I hadn't been up since 6am I'd have taken it back! Chips were inedible, blatantly double fried, used to be really good food from here! Won't be coming back!

proper chips and non brewed condiment YUM.I have lunch on the go so only want a small meal. They do a small bit of fish or fish bits and they are very nice.
