I wonder about this place. It appears they cook everything to order. Which, I understand has its benefits, but does mean you wait a long time. I waited 15 minutes for an order of chips today. I could perhaps understand making the fish or burgers, sausages fresh. But you'd think chips were a given and the wait time would be the 30 seconds ot takes to scrape the latest batch into a box

Had takeaways from here now for about the 3/4th time, and every time I’m flabbergasted at how nice the food is. The fish is not over battered like most chippies, the chips are lovely and crisp, and buttery on the inside. If I could give more stars I would I would rate this as the best fish and chips in the UK

This place is fabulous for our family gathering, 12 of us. As we can order early & last family member passing, picks it up. Good value & generous portions.

My first choice for fish and chips, always had good service and the food has always been to a high standard.

It's a shopping mall, main shop former Debenhams still empty. Looks boring and clinical, staff all look miserable.

The Fish was cooked to perfection in a very tasty batter lovely vup of tea and friendly service.

The BEST chip shop in ashford! They offer GF Wednesdays and Saturdays! I cannot recommend them highly enough their food is delicious tasting of quality and flavour :)

Absolutely awful service. Ordered a very simple order and came away with 1 portion of chips out of 5 ordered, along with fish and scampi. Drove all the way there, ordered and paid to arrive home with less than half the order. Phoned to see what they’d do to rectify this - to be told we’re wrong, not sure what happened to “customer is always right.” Order was not listened to and no customer service offered. Staff training required here on basic customer service…having looked at previous reviews it seems there are a lot of people having similar issues. I’d go to ashford town or lenham for chips!

Catch Fish and Chips is a great Fish and Chip shop. We use them regularly on Gluten free nights. We order using their app and the food is always waiting when we arrive to collect. We always get great food and great service.

Absolutely disgusting fish and chips like rubber and tasteless,will not be going back there again. Not to be recommended.

Bought a large cod and chips twice now to find very little cod !? , it was batter with a touch of cod and at that price absolutely ridiculous .

10/10. I popped down while walking my dog this evening for haddock and chips. Despite being busy, the service was excellent. Piping hot food, clear batter- excellent. Thank you!

Overall this was a good experience. There were however a couple of disappointments. The standard cod was very small. The price was no different to other outlets but the portion was half the size. The chips were also a let down. Very light golden in colour indicated they had come out of the fryer a little too soon. As a consequence they were a soggy mess and had to be rescued with a short spell under the grill. There were some real positives, good service - no wait for a collection, a nice smart clean shop, and excellent homemade Tartare sauce. In the end the value for money was not as good as other chippies.

Second week in a row / ordered 2 cod and 1 potion of chips with Just Eat on Friday evening / received 1 cod and a potion of chips; missing 1 cod again. Food was actually good but will not order from them again. If we cannot get a refund from Just Eat we are about £20 out of pocket

I’ve heard good things about this place so I tried it out for my first time on a Monday evening, and let me tell you, this won’t be my last! Firstly I must say how clean this place is, no surprise of their 5 star health and and hygiene rating. You can watch your food be prepared over the counter, and was served up in no time. The staff over the counter were lovely and showed an interest speaking to me whilst I waited. I’m not sure what the fish trade is like on Mondays but this place seemed pretty busy whilst I was there, around 5 different groups of people popping in whilst I was waiting. I think they also do deliveries. I was ordering on behalf of myself and a few friends, we ordered some chicken balls, sausage, a few pies, some fish and of course chips. I’m still surprised at how little this cost me because the food is clearly fresh. Brilliant quality (in particularly the fish) I will certainly be back soon. Thanks a lot to the team at Catch, we are certainly satisfied customers!!

Thank you to all the staff last night. Being National Fish & Chip day it was extremely busy with pre orders and walk ins. I had a little wait on my collection but everyone was patient, the staff apologetic and very polite. Well done on a tough night. Our fish and chips were lovely and hot - thank you 🙂.

Best Fish and Chips in Ashford in my opinion The place to go to get gluten free fish and chips, battered sausage and all the favourites! Service is always great. Always order online for collection. Would recommend and return regularly!

After ordering the food then waiting 20 mins for it when we got there it was all cold. Chips look and tasted like they had been reheated from lunch. Even mushy peas were cold. Won't be going back there again, not worth the inflated price we paid!

Didn’t visit the restaurant but ordered online , Not long moved to Ashford and have tried a few other places - this knocks the rest out the park ! 10/10 great portion sizes and very tasty - not greasy.

Phoned in 25 minutes previously for an order, turned up on time and waited for another 20 minutes while Just Eat given priority. Had to ask for my order again. Poor service

we decided to try Catch today as we've heard great things about it! unfortunately due to staffing issues and a miscommunication we ended up waiting in total 55 mins for our food (collection) but the lady was very apologetic and cooked us fresh food and it was worth it! great fresh food and generous portions! we'll definitely be back.

Won’t be back in a hurry! I waited 15mins for a bag of chips when I was the only customer in the shop and had to wait while the server made up all the telephone orders first. If I hadn’t already paid I would have walked out. Mine would have taken seconds to wrap up. It wasn’t a busy time and there were 2 others working in there. Ridiculous.

A great place for fish and chips. We've used them a few times and the food is freshly cooked and tastes great. You can order online in advance too, which saves having to wait too long. Free parking in the car park too, which is handy.

Amazing. We will definitely be back. I love the alarm they give you so you can have a drink in the pub while your meal is being prepared. If you need a good takeaway definitely give CATCH a try. You won't be disappointed.

I'm so pleased I came here! Great for Coeliacs, large portions, I love that we can have battered options for gf (wednesdays and saturdays). Really felt safe here as a coeliac and my partner who was not coeliac loved it too even though its gluten free. Didnt have to question them about cross contamination with gluten, they knew exactly what they were doing so it felt like being a normal person! Definitely will be coming back!

I never knew this place existed until I see a post online saying it was rated one of the best fish and chip shops, sorry but i have to disagree. No vegetarian options i can get over that so went for chips, chips only come in one Portion size, ok, but the chips I had were all scraps, some people like that i personally don't, not one fresh chip, but my partner had all fresh chips in the same order. Bare in mind this was a Saturday early afternoon. They nearly forgot to put in part of the order and had to be reminded. Don't rate it being one of the best, I have eaten at one of the best in kent which is papas barn in maidstone, the quality every time never fails. Was disappointed to be honest. Reply to the owners Comment, Firstly that email address don't exist my email bounced back. When asked for a vegetarian burger my partner was told you don't do any vegetarian options. As for the chips only one portion size which was on the menu board at £2.50 and we was told and my chips were scraps and my partners were fresh but ordered in the same order. It doesn't matter because we won't be returning !

Once again had takeaway food from this establishment. Sausage and chips X 3 excellent. Cheeseburgers and chips X 2 excellent. Fishcake X 1 excellent. Jumbo sausage and chips X 1 excellent. Great food. Great prices. Keep it up.

Service wasnt great to be honest and its not like they was busy at this point, i was never asked wether i wanted salt and vinegar on my order.... The chips i could only describe as tasting stale and cold and my savaloy was warm on the outside by freezing in the middle!

Sorry guys but this was the worst fish experience ever. We ordered online and I was early to collect so the fish was not hanging around. I presume as I had a short wait the fish was being cooked as I waited, how wrong could I be. At £7.45 for a piece of fish I would have thought the frier would be able to cook it to at least a reasonable standard, sadly this was not the case. The large cod was so over cooked the only edible part was about two inches at the fat end, the other 80% was awful, in fact it reminded me of school dinners in the 70’s, which ain’t a good memory. My wife had a small cod, which although not as bad as mine, was still very over cooked. This is the only review I’ve done but am so disappointed I felt compelled to air my feedback. So, sorry Catch but couldn’t recommend you on this experience.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in years & with homemade tartar sauce. Crisp, tasty, good portions and not greasy. Nom! Nom! Spotless chippy with friendly staff. All recyclable packaging including cutlery. What more could you want! I’ll definitely be back for more.

We had been waiting for the weekend to arrive so that we could order from Catch. We decided to order directly with them and collect, after a couple of recent delivery courier issues, and we were pleased that we did, as it gave us a chance to look inside and get a feel for the place. Very bright and welcoming and most importantly sparkly clean! Staff busy working away, but friendly and welcoming to those who came in as well. As you can see by responses on TA thé management are active and passionate about the business, and this clearly passed down through the team. The food really is worth the 5* ratings given on Trip Advisor. This is good quality fish and chips at a reasonable price. Portions are beyond huge and we have enough food left to warm up a full meal again tomorrow! Whoops, we will bear this is mind with our next order. Meals - No complaints from anyone in the house! All VERY full and all pleased with the taste. Even my hard to please husband said it was the best fish and chips he’s had in a long time! Curry sauce - Like real curry sauce from the Indian takeaway, not anything like the usual version offered in other takeaways. Minted peas - again nothing like other takeaway, but in a good way. I went to catch on a lunch break with all intention to grab a meal deal from Tesco next door. Being new to the area I spotted catch and thought why not grab a more substantial lunch and boy was I not disappointed. The fish was so fresh and flaked into huge steak like pieces, hands down the best fish I have ever ordered from a chippy!! Would 1000% recommend this place to everyone. Can’t wait to go back next Friday!

The fish and chips here is much better in our experience generally than Marino's in beaver Road. It would be nice if they offered a option of coleslaw. The staff are really really good. Yes it's a good place I would recommend it.

We have had a delivery twice before and the meals were lovely. Just had our third and the chips were dry, wrinkled and hard on the ends. We ordered large and had to pick through them to get some decent ones. Scampi was nice and portions great but the chips are a main addition to the meal so disappointed.

I went there today at 4PM after school the fish cake was burnt and the Savaloy was stale and hard and the smallest pickled onion I'd seen in my life 😂obviously the food was reheated from lunch time

The food is usually lovely and fresh but things are a bit chaotic during busy periods and customers are usually a bit confused as to whether to ask for their order if the order was made online or to go back in to stand in the queue? Its all a bit confusing... Then it's frustrating when you eventually decide to stand in the queue even if you have placed an online order only for the staff to grab your food from the warmer! But as I said the food is always good 👍🏽

First time customer; found Catch by web search. Due to Covid did a click and collect order which was easy to complete. The highlight was the gluten free options (availability on the website). Food was delicious, very tasty said the kids, and excellent quantities. Good service and Covid management in the store; currently no more than 5 people with face coverings, and wait outside till you are called to collect your meal.

Taste was good but for just under a tenner the large cod & chips is poor value for money. The large portions at Catch are the same size as the standard at Marinos. I’d rather drive 10 Minutes to Marinos for an actual large portion rather than walk 2 minutes around the corner to catch.

The staff as usual very organised as was v v busy due to the one stop being closed as changing to tesco.. Fish and chips very good freshly cooked ...they do a OAP offer on regular/large fish and chips ..offer gluten free on a weds too.. They do all sorts of lunch time offers Goujons,..fish cake .sausage ..small scampi and squid with chips as a deal Mon to Friday 11.30-.14.30...... Cuppa for £1..cans for £1... All sorts of sauces like curry sauce for 60pence .... Very popular fish and chips shop ... popular to eat in and take out too

My Wife and I visit this Fish & Chippy normally midweek and fortnightly. It’s really clean and comfortable, we use the “Eat in” part where there is really fast service and the food is so fresh. We do pass quite a few other Fish & Chip shops to get to “Catch” but it’s always been worthwhile to drive that bit further. If you read the message boards behind the Counter you will discover what days are “Special” such as Gluten free, OAP etc. And it’s the only Shop that actually tells you about the Boat that has supplied all the fish etc used in the shop and the areas that they use to ply their Nets. I cannot recommend a better chippy.

We visit regularly as it is the only local shop that sells Gluten Free fish and chips. We have never been disappointed with our meals - we highly recommend Catch.

Ok but portions and batter not as good as Cheriton Seafayres

We went out of our way to go here, reviews sounded great, ordered large cod and large chips, large battered sausage and medium chips. Food tasted good, nothing special, but portion sizes, especially the chips where a lot smaller than our other two favourite chip...

Small portions, especially the chips, food decent but nothing special, only went there as reviews on google maps said it was 5 stars will stick to my other two chip shops. Not at all value for money
