Silks Bistro & Champagne Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

The setting was lovely apart from chandelier needing that needed to be re-attached The menu options are the standard steak, burgers, fish and chips which you can find any hungry horse, but it was highly priced so of course I had high expectations. Ordered a glass of champagne, not only did it seem like it was being fetched from afar, but by the time it arrived, it was flat, poured from a bottle that was opened yesterday it seemed. I started with the muscles, it was fine, nothing out the ordinary apart from the odd bit of bacon thrown in, which is something I’ve not had before. I had steak for main, asked for it rare, then came over medium, had to send it back, it was re-made, but then came back after my friend had finished her main. The steak seemed to have been cooked in an old pan or old oil had a very bitter aftertaste, I ate the steak to save face and left everything else on the plate. I didn’t have any dessert as it totally put me off. Waitresses were okay, Asian lady was very sweet, the other waitress seemed to want to turn the table over quickly, even though there was only 4 tables in a 30 odd table restaurant, so felt very rushed. Overall, menu needs to be updated, or if keeping the same menu, the quality needs to be improved to match the expectation the place gives. Sadly disappointed.

In such a beautiful setting, you would expect the food to standard up to that, but it failed miserable. It took a while for our drinks, the champagne was look warm and almost flat. There was no ask at all if we had any allergies. There isnt much to choose from on the menu. I had the pate to start with, and there wasn't any texture. It would have been better served on toasted bread. The seabass and gnocchi was bland, the only taste was the sundried tomatos. My friends steak had to be sent back, he asked for rare, and it was over cooked, this was replaced. Everything is just so overpriced for what you got. The Chinese lady was lovely and friendly. The place is beautiful and clean just ashame about the food as it really let it down. I have been here a few times in the past and never had any issues, so I don't know what has happened or what has changed, but I won't be returning

I’d booked a table for NYE without issue online a week or so before Christmas. I had a phone call on the 28th December explaining there was a drama with their booking system and if I wanted to have a table it would be 135 per person. The person who called me was professional and no doubt had some difficult calls to make that day but the low score is to reflect the disappointment that at the last minute my party now needs to find somewhere else for NYE when everywhere is booked up.

Lovely, friendly staff and good food.

I enjoyed my food . Wife said hers just ok. The chef did a really good job on his own. Waiting staff seemed to not know what they were doing. Spent most of the evening walking round holding plates .noticed other guests waiting a long time for food ..Overall would not eat here again even if we stay in the hotel.

I didn’t eat here, I came for a live music event, the drink I had was nice and the girl at the bar was smiley and friendly. The music was not my thing or many others, the place emptied pretty fast. Sad really it’s a pretty place. Perhaps French indie music is a little niche.

Very very dissatisfied and disappointed. Two waiters one chef, waited over an hour for our food so far. Ridiculously understaffed.

Really nice location. Service was very attentive and friendly. Food was ordered and delivered promptly. Steak was medium rare as asked for. Menu catered for an 11 year old, 21 year old 50 year old and 80 year old. Absolutely no complaints

Went with family to celebrate wedding anniversary. Staff took really good care of us, with really nice setting. Afternoon Tea with fizz was excellent. Only suggestion would be to add a little atmosphere with some music. Great memories.

This place feels like the doors of death. The waitress (deputy manager) was so depressing and made the experience feel sad. The chairs are stone hard and uncomfortable. The lady on table next to me even had to for a comfier chair from the lobby. I have given it a one star which only is given because of the chef who made our food which was brilliant considering he was the only chef there. But overall this place needs a revamp or something to bring it to life because it truly feels like you’re on the set of a very sad and depressing movie where someone has died or you are about to die yourself.

Food was really good, waitress was absolutely outstanding, she was polite and genuinely cared that we have the best experience. Atmosphere was great, I have given 4* for a reason, we really wanted to give a tip to waitress, but sounded like the business do not allow card tip on machine or amend the total sum what we asked. Only way to give the tip was to give cash which we didn’t have and I would assume many people do not carry cash around nowadays. Suggestion to give guests a chance to give tip to hard working waiters is something I feel should be fixed by the owners/management.

My new favourite restaurant in Newquay......food was exceptional, the decor is stunning and the service was excellent........it was that good we ate here two night's in a row with family that were visiting.

Amazing place that has an exclusive we won't do that policy. They won't open the front door because it's too difficult to lock. They won't serve you in the room with awesome sea views of the Atlantic ocean because they don't use that room They won't put lemons in your gin and tonic because they haven't got them yet They won't stay open because the waitress has gone home now (not 10pm yet) So if you'd like to walk round a building to find the way in, have beautiful views over Newquay town (and a Suzuki Alto) and leave before 10pm this is the place for you.

This is the 3rd time we have gone to the restaurant of the hotel where we are staying. Reserved at 7:45 p.m. (no way to reserve after) My wife arrives at 7:50 p.m. and I at 8 p.m. (last minute emergency) We are told that it is too late to order a starter... anything!!!! We went to eat in town! It's really incredible, you definitely don't want the chef to be a soap opera on TV... Otherwise this restaurant is in "show cooking" the chef's bowls make a lot of noise. He starts tidying up the kitchen and turns off the extractor fan before you finish eating; hello for the noise and smells of frying fries. The restaurant is not at all pleasant, iron chair and table, whereas the restaurant where we have breakfast is. And to top it off, it's expensive and it's not great cuisine if we compare it to another hotel where we have stayed multiple times in ST Austell (the one with a golf course)

We visited the bistro for a 7pm booking on Friday 26th august. I booked online and received fantastic communication from the get go. We arrived at 7pm and were seated promptly and politely. There only appeared to be one member of floor staff doing bar, clearing, meeting/greeting and waiting tables, one chef and one kp. The restaurant wasn’t massively busy but each member of staff was efficient and clearly very good at their job. Our food was absolutely delicious. We shared a main of mussels (a huge portion) which were cooked to perfection, I had the pork belly for a main which was incredible and a large portion, my partner had the fish and chips. We shared a cheesecake for dessert. All of the food was faultless as was the service from beginning to end. The waiter was friendly, personable and despite working the floor on his own, made the job look effortless. The chef was also efficient, we didn’t wait too long between courses and the food was absolutely incredible. The best meal out I’ve had in a very very long time! Obviously, not to forget your kp who was clearly very good at their job too! Every step of the way was perfect and completely faultless… I really couldn’t pick one hole in it! All reasonably priced too! We live relatively locally and so will most definitely go back in the near future! Thank you so much for a lovely meal, time and visit!!!

Visited twice & overcharged both times they refused to honour the menue price on the entrance door ,in the lift & in menue folders,the manager simply said they had to increase prices but no mention made of this when ordering.Manager of hotel also refused to honour the menue price & brushes my complaint off with Its a misunderstanding Quite unbelieveable, no wonder its poorly used & overpriced

Great setting and fantastic food for the for the price, I would happily eat there every night!! One of the best places I eat in my time at newquay.

The worst meal we had in Newquay. Booked this restaurant for a 40th birthday meal because a friend recommended it to us. We ordered the bread and olives to start with, the bread smell of stale bread and the olive oil dip didn’t taste of olive oil to this day still not sure what it was we were given. We ordered the sirloin steaks and we found the steaks were very tough and just terrible at the price they are charging. We are not fussy eater and we like most things. Definitely not worth the money or time. However our waitress was lovely and apologetic about our meal and experience. We won’t be coming back.

Lovely meal out, our server was great, very accommodating, food went down a treat. Recommend their bottle of Shiraz 🍷👍🏻

Very disappointed. My partner found a piece of metal in his muscles starter, (very dangerous) was offered a free desert but was too full, tried to still charge full price and only took the money off when asked. Later that night my partner was violently sick all night and a bad stomach the next day. (He is used to seafood) I had a steak, asked for blue, came medium rare and in my opinion it was not worth its £30 price. More like £20. But on the positive, beautiful setting, attentive staff but we wouldn’t go back. Also they deleted my bad review on their Facebook page!

We were very well looked after by Christian on our early arrival, who poured us out champagne and also seated us for our afternoon tea which was lovely. We kept changing where we wanted to sit and nothing was too much trouble for him. The terrace at the back of the hotel has a fantastic view over the sea. He made our visit very enjoyable so thanks Christian from Bolton.

We ate here for my birthday, as we we were staying in the Atlantic Hotel. Friendly staff, great food from an open kitchen. Relaxed vibe in a great location.

I visited the restaurant with my family. Staff very friendly and helpful. I had the salmon which was delicious. A very extensive wine and champagne menu but not many cocktails to choose from. I do love the Atlantic Hotel; it’s the best place to stay in Newquay with amazing views. The only criticism is the staff uniform. The men looked smart but some women looked very casual and even had flip flops on, which shocked us for a high end restaurant

I know this is a long read but please be patient. Ok being local and been to Silks many times this time was very different. We walked in to where we normally enter in the pouring rain with my elderly neighbour, hence we couldn’t enter eventually noticed an A4 sign not very noticeable that we had to use the main entrance, fair enough but maybe have a bigger sign out the front maybe. So we entered the restaurant and was shown to our table by Christian, all good. We sat down ordered a bottle of Camel valley Rose.As we took in the ambience we both agreed after many years of coming here our surroundings were looking very tired ie sofas seats and decor needed updating. Anyway as we wasn’t going to let this spoil our afternoon tea we sat and waited for our drink and food which was delivered by our waiter who was very good. Ok all good and enjoying ourselves our waiter came over half way through to check if all ok and had a little chat, he was not with us long and his supervisor/manager not sure which came over and grabbed his arm to pull him away mid conversation, I thought that’s rude as there was only one other table in. So not busy our glasses were not filled up once, that’s fine get it i suppose with covid etc. ( even though i had been to Rick Steiner the week before and they were very attentive) Then came the first of the crunches we were asked by three different waitresses if they could clear our plates when there was still food on our food stand and still half a bottle of drink left also. Then the manager/supervisor came over after I struggled for a while to get her attention. I asked for a coffee her reply “can you go and sit on the sofa to have it ?” I replied “No we can’t as my friend is comfortable at the table and she struggles walking at the best of times as per her walking stick” I thought maybe they needed the table.I asked “do you need our table when is the next sitting ?” She replied “no not until 7.30” it was 5.30 “ oh ok I feel like you are rushing us ? “ Her reply was very short and abrupt “No I’m not rushing you” I replied “I’m glad about that” After getting our coffees we drank them determined not to feel pressured and got the bill, our waiter came across dealt with our transaction and then went off. As we stood up not much as a goodbye and thank you just wiping our table down like there was a 100 people waiting to sit there ridiculous. Hence we will not be returning to silks sadly the whole experience for us had changed dramatically since before lockdown, if you want good clientele to come in and dine with you maybe also look at they dress of your staff very scruffy. If your want to charge and keep up with Rick Stein you all have a very long way to go !

We arrived to a practically empty bar/restaurant and after finally getting the attention of the young lady on the reception desk were allowed a table for a drink. I say allowed because after confirming we were non-residents the lady made us feel grateful for seating us. This establishment describes itself as a luxurious champagne and cocktail bar with leather chairs etc. The reality is there wasn’t a cocktail menu to be seen and there’s a mis-match of faux leather tub chairs amongst. I would say there are some really nice touches like all the different size and makes of champagne bottles, and undoubtedly this place has the potential to be so much more than it is.

Silks Bistro in The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay is a great place for an evening meal with a bit of style with a very friendly and easy atmosphere. We’ve visited on a number of occasions and had a big family meal here before our wedding in 2017. We’ve been back since and went again in June this year with family. Of course they had to apply the rules of max six to a table ( the sooner this ends, the better. Just ridiculous, but not their fault and we totally accept they have no choice ). The service was bang on and the menu really good too. Every time we’ve come away from Silks we’ve always said what a great time we’ve had. Thoroughly recommended.

I booked a table for dinner for May Half Term, well in advance, in good faith. We had some friends visiting us in Newquay and it was the last night of their holiday. A few hours before my booking my table was cancelled. Apparently they had over booked. No explanation and no remorse; it seems that customers are dispensable to this establishment. If you're planning a special night out and don't want to risk being let down, I recommend you don't take the chance. Arrogant and unattractive.

Whilst the hotel is lovely and there is a great ambiance to the place, the food we received on this special evening was far below the standard we had expected from the excellent recommendations we had received previously. One of the main courses had to be returned and as the chef had already finished a replacement couldn't be provided. After a discussion with the manager he grudgingly took the price of that main course off the bill but refused to take anything else off for the fact that a very special evening had been ruined. We had ordered champagne at £65 and 2 expensive bottles of wine so the bill wasn't cheap. I should have posted this review at the time but circumstances prevented me. I know the 4 of us will probably return to Newquay in the future but I doubt I will be returning to Silks.

On a recent trip to see family in Newquay we went for dinner at this restaurant which is within the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. The food is outstanding and the staff are an absolute asset to the business. The manager, Alan, is worth his weight in gold to the place - an absolute professional who has an obvious natural talent for the work his does and has nurtured a small team to provide a first class service. Unfortunately the owners obviously don’t care as much about the business as Alan and his team do. The building is falling apart which is an absolute shame as it would have obviously been a luxury venue in the past. The restaurant has a real strong 80s vibe with worn out animal print furniture, and furnishings that make me think of strip clubs from 80s films. On the night we were there it rained and obviously the owners are too tight to fix the leaking roof! Shame on them, as the staff are obviously too used to this and do a fantastic job at putting their plan into action to put wet floor signs up and clean up the water. The owners should be absolutely ashamed of themselves to allow this building to fall into disrepair whilst allowing their staff to suffer the embarrassment of managing this whilst still providing a first class dining experience. As I said, the food and service are impeccable; the staff are fantastic and should be absolutely worshipped by the owners. Perhaps they could take lessons from the restaurant team in how to provide the dedication that this wonderful building deserves!

Would not recommend. Very disappointed with the food and drinks that I had this evening. £15 for bland pasta and a further £15 for a gin and lemonade! Couldn’t believe the price of the gin. The only positive was the friendly waiter that served us.

Really nice place, but service really awful. We ordered starter, mains and of course drinks. We receive the starters and then the drinks. We order 2 cocktails which still I wait to get them. The steak we order it medium and of course was well done half and medium half.

We have always eaten here when on holiday in Cornwall & the food & staff are always exceptional .This was the first time ‘eating out’ since Feb 2020. I was with an 82 year old & a ‘shielder’. Most thoughtful protection I have encountered. Well socially distanced tables & hand sanitizer & one way system. However, the ‘stand out’ feature was the face masks. EVERY member of staff (even those working in the hot kitchen ) was wearing AT MINIMUM a visor & the majority , face masks . Eat here!!! They obviously care for their guests. Thank you so much for a relaxing & incredibly enjoyable experience.

Service was very slow. Took a long time to be seated even though there was no one in the restaurant. The scones were OK could of been baked a little longer was dough like in the middle, clotted cream was not handmade came from a sachet as well as jam.Very disappointing.

Lovely restaurant and nice to go somewhere a bit glitzy when on holiday in Cornwall as most places very casual. Had lovely meal, fish platter to share, braised blade of beef which was excellent and a lovely dessert which we shared and then a cheese board also very good which we shared.

‘Exceptional Customer Service”We just loved this place the staff are exceptional, professional, happy and the food is outstanding. The whole place is very 1930’s grandure, updated to suit modern tastes. Your never rushed it's all so relaxed, we've never had a bad experience hence we ate in the restaurant three times whilst staying in the hotel.The restaurant is very stylish, a bit art deco, spacious but with character, from our first experience in Silk’s the Champagne bar, pre dinner drinks we knew we were in for a treat, we just relaxed and enjoyed the atmosphere. All the staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Alan in the restaurant and Christian in the bar, what fantastic customer service.A lovely champagne before dinner followed by a lovely chardonnay with dinner. We don’t usually go for three courses but we did here as they all looked so delicious and we saw them all being served, so we thought it rude not to try them and we were not disappointed. I wish we'd know about Silk’s years ago, we will 100% come back soon.Well done to all the team!

Steak overcooked. Did not eat. Was still charged for it. Abysmal. Starter and dessert were very good however. Not the force it once was

Overpriced and mediocre food. Went for dinner last night and while the service was good and attentive, that’s where the praise for Silks stops. The two of us shared a starter of bread and olives which was fine but by no means amazing, and then ended up having to send back the steaks we ordered for our mains. One was severely undercooked and one was very overcooked. Even if the steaks has been cooked properly, the price (nearly £30 each) is far higher than it should be for the quality of food that was served. Only recourse offered to us was a 15% discount when we paid meaning it still cost us over £100 for two badly cooked steaks and a bottle of sparkling wine. Had high hopes for this place but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectation.

Visited yesterday for a cream tea with some family friends. Very friendly arrival, beautiful seating area and very clean.Couldn’t fault the service both young men serving where so polite and very chatty especially Justin (we think that was his name) told us about some history of the hotel and made sure we had everything we wanted.Will definitely be back, we would love to stay for the night next time. We are local so nice to find hotels we haven’t been to :)

Went for dinner last night and it was amazing! Excellent service throughout the whole evening. Best risotto I have ever tasted! Definitely do recommend!!

We had reserved a table for 8 oclock and was told the management would call back at 2 to take the deposit. They didn’t call until 4:30 and gave us The news we couldn’t have the table as they had overbooked!! Poor organisation and now we’re left on a friday night with no plans.

We wanted to book somewhere special now that lockdown is easing. Couldn't have picked a better venue. Yes, the one way system and the poor staff in their PPE is still strange, but they are doing their best and were engaging. The food was excellent and it was lovely to dress up and go out. Would definitely recommend

We had afternoon tea as a group. The pastries, fruit and sweets were delicious and clearly all fresh and homemade with a selection of about 6 to choose from. Savoury selection was very poor. All we had was sandwiches. There was cheese and cucumber, salmon and pickles and beef and mustard. The bread of the sandwiches was dry which implied the sandwiches had been made hours in advance and left out. The beef was thick cut, chewy and very pink. The beef had clearly been sliced too early after cooking as the blood was soaked into the bread. It was offputting. I would expect some savoury pastries with an afternoon tea. Not great quality control. However the location is lovely and the staff are friendly and professional. It’s also nice that they are dog friendly.

We ate as a foursome, the service was excellent, and the food good, the choice was sufficient, but the wine was overpriced. We had a good evening, and the portion size and time between courses where perfect.

Just spent a couple of days in Newquay with my husband to celebrate my birthday. W e needed somewhere special to have an evening meal on the day. Consulted trip advisor and saw all the reviews for Silks. We booked a table and we were not disappointed Silks certainly lived up to our expectations. The table had silver confetti on it. Our waiter was great. The food was delicious and my dessert came with a candle and Happy Birthday iced onto the plate I would certainly recommend Silks to everyone delicious. with my husband in Newquay to celebrate my birthday. We had our cream tea here and lovely meals on Boxing day + Friday in Silks. We loved the food and it's cooked before you in a large open kitchen. After great food, we had cocktails and beers in the adjoining lounge. Great ambient music in a classy setting.

Me and my 9 year old sister had a great festive afternoon tea here. The scones were fresh out the oven and hot to the touch, which was divine. All the cakes and sandwiches were delicious. Our waiter Matt was brilliant and made us feel so welcome, and he even provided a portable heater so my little sister could stay nice and toasty! Overall the whole experience was very good value for money and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea here with my partner today and was gobsmacked by how brilliant it was. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated for the festive season and the staff were ever so polite and smiley. The afternoon tea itself was splendid. It was clearly made from scratch and tasted just like home cooked food - especially the minced pies and gingerbread. Definitely worth the experience!

We were here for a family celebration, my mother's 98th birthday lunch. Access was easy with the wheelchair slope at the entrance to the hotel. The service here is very traditional and it is ideally suited to a special occasion. The staff are friendly and attentive The food is delicious, and this would be a first class choice for your family celebration. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Lovely art deco style restaurant. The staff are very attentive, they're there in the background when you need them. We had an evening meal and a cream tea during our stay and both were very enjoyable.

When visiting family we try different establishments in search of great Sunday lunches and here at Silks we certainly did find one Lovely surrounding , natural light streaming in and such a warm and friendly staff from the moment we walked in Delicious three course menu served extremely efficiently with hot plates and always a smile The joint if chosen, is brought to your table and sliced to your liking All 3 courses were of a good size and very well presented The design and layout of the restaurant ensures you have plenty of space which is not always the case these days in many establishments Big thank you again to the wonderful staff including of course the chefs I will certainly be back one evening to enjoy what must be a lovely atmosphere

Had a really lovely meal here last night! Food was delicious and our waitress was superb - really friendly and professional. The espresso martinis are amazing ! One of the best we’ve ever had!

I had lunch here 2 days in a row, whilst staying at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay.I loved the place, from the decor to the food. The service staff were extremely accommodating and personable. They couldn't do enough.The food arrived in good time and was absolutely delicious and fresh.The view from the window was fantastic, looking out over Newquay.I spent a relaxing couple of hours there each day and will return when in Newquay again.

Superb 3-course lunch for under £20, including a glass of wine! Great service and beautifully prepared food - many thanks! You'll be offered the a la carte menu - which looks great, but quite expensive. We just wanted a light lunch and couldn't fault the food that appeared after ordering from the fixed lunchtime menu.

We visited Silks on a Friday night for an impromptu dinner at around 2030. We were greeted by very friendly and professional service from start to finish. The food was also very good quality and well presented. Next time we visit our family in Cornwall, we will be coming back! Thank you for a lovely evening.

My daughter and I enjoyed afternoon tea here. The food was nothing amazing but good, the surrounding gorgeous and the staff very friendly. We practically had the place to ourselves.

We stayed in the Atlantic Hotel and were recommended to the restaurant. It is really worth going especially if you like Seafood or fish. We had both and were surprised about the reasonable prices and high quality. Moreover we enjoyed hot food on hot plates which is important to us.

We went here for a drink at lunchtime. The bar is very spacious with good views. We also chose to eat here on our last night in Newquay. The hotel looks lovely and the restaurant is very elegant and the waiters are very friendly and accommodating. The food is really good and well cooked and the service was very good. A lovely place for a really delicious meal. A great ending to our stay in Newquay. Would definitely recommend this place.

Champagne valley central drakensberg kzn south Africa has always been a stunning venue.

My husband and I have been coming here for years and actually spent our honeymoon here. It has changed over the years and only for the better, as if it could get better!!!

We travelled down to Cornwall for a weekend away and decided to come here on our first night for dinner and drinks, the service was amazing and friendly and the food was absolutely incredible. So as our night was so good we came back the next night and again we were not disappointed with the amazing service and delicious food! Loved everything about this place and would highly recommend!

We have been here many times before and we are always very happy customers. From the outset, the customer service is 10/10, super friendly, chatty, attentive and always willing to help. The atmosphere is exceptional, light music, beautifully lit and we always find the palm trees a great touch. ( This is the type of restaurant where you can really dress up for the occasion) Onto the food We simply cannot fault it. we ate here last night 14/06/19 and from starters to main course it was delicious, plentiful and perfectly presented. The prices may seem a little high at first BUT...once you sample the quality of this restaurant you will see that every penny is worth it. A huge thank you to the young waiter who served us and took pictures (including his own selfie ) just brilliant stuff, it really made our evening just that little bit more special.

Had a quick break here for a coffee to get out of the rain the other day. We were the only customers at that time and were treated well by the bar manager. Coffee and sandwich were nice and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the ceiling was leaking in several places which we had to be careful of but otherwise a nice relaxing visit.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch last week at Silks. Fantastic food , service and atmosphere. Terrific value for money. First rate resteraunt and would thougherly recommend it.

We arrived after a long journey. Had pre booked a meal in restaurant weeks ago. Turn up no booking despite email confirmation. Ordered food At 7.30. 9.20. No main course. It wasn’t busy. Terrible service. Walked out. Had table booked for dinner tomorrow night. Cancelled. What a terrible service. How this is a 2 star is is beyond me. In room eating Pringles. What a joke!! Do not recommend!!

Had a meal in here again after 5 years and to say it was disappointing is a understatement. Meat was over cooked and service was shocking. We are staying in the hotel and had a waiter walk up to us in the middle of our meal to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and question us about drinks that we had the previous night. We had seen them on more 1 occasion that day but they decided that when we were having a meal to approach us. My other half ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done, didn't tell us there was no peppercorn sauce until we had received the food then said he didn't know what sauces they had. I came here 5 years ago and had the most amazing time but I wouldn't come back to this restaurant again not for the prices that they are charging. I've had better service in wetherspoons.

Visited in a Friday and there was 1 waiter serving drinks so it did take about 30 minutes before we got them, however he was lovely and the drinks were very tasty. They have a "Friday Fizz " offer where you get a bottle of prosecco for £15.95, however they had none left when we arrived at 6.30. It started to get busy when we left at about 7.

This place is great and the afternoon tea is well worth trying

The best chips in the world so say my kids and I have to agree with them and the staff was the best and I will be back

Always stay at the Atlantic when visiting relatives ate there on our last night food superb never seen so many mussles in a dish and my Duck was perfect

Tonight was our 3rd visit in one week. We can't get enough of this place. Not only is the food the best we've ever eaten but the staff are fantastic too...making the whole experience second to none. The staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming, even remembering our faces from the last time we visited.

We have eaten here for over a decade and after a terrible experience at Lusty Glaze today they saved the day, squeezing us in at the end of service for an emergency roast when they really didn’t have to and then looking after us exceptionally well. So we thought it was about time to leave a review.

What a find! A real gem! Walked into this gorgeous restaurant at lunchtime today. (16/2/19) Straight away you're aware of the wonderful ambience. Fantastic! The calm and relaxing atmosphere seeps quality and charm. It provides the perfect setting for tranquillity!

Birthday meal with family and friends and although the normal restaurant is undergoing renovations, the service and food continued in another room in the hotel overlooking the sea.

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the last 10 years and it was always very good for a special occasion. After a good few years of not visiting I dropped in spontaneously and was expecting a top meal as before. On arrival I was struck by how empty the place was, there was just one other table occupied. Starters, the bread was very dry. Main, the steak was tough, chewy and fatty, the large cut chips seemed like they were cooked and reheated making them like cardboard! My wife had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was fantastic. I don’t think I’ll be going back after this visit unfortunately.

Went in for a drink and a snack. Glass of champagne excellent! The bar and dining area is just lovely but asked for a snack menu three times and to three different people but they were in no hurry but when we did get one we had ciabattas and fries which was very nice. Staff were very nice and chatty and will definitely go back for a Sunday lunch

Fantastic food , from the starters to the deserts. Scallops were perfection , followed by one of the best cooked and tastiest sirloin steak I have ever had. My wife’s pasta dish was fantastically cooked and well presented. Ambiance and setting / decor were really nice , seeing the open kitchen was good too. Staff friendly and helpful with quick efficient service Generally thoroughly recommend for everything . Well done

Went here on Sunday 23rd of December and had the Christmas party menu as we couldn't get in Christmas day but this was just as good

Recommended here to my friend for her birthday and we all had a fabulous time. Great service and fantastic food and the Sunday lunch is outstanding value with 3 courses for £20.

Excellent customer service and stunning environment

Visited whilst on a weekend break. I am a fairly fussy water which normally causes me problems. Spoken to front of house, I think his name was Alan, who took my requirements to the chef who cooked a dish to suit my needs. By the way the pudding was to die for.

Ok, we were staying at the Atlantic Hotel and to that extent, were captive customers. However having eaten here twice during our stay, we will enjoy this place again on our return. The quality of the food and service is second to none but something should be done to make the restaurant more comfortable. We did get the impression of eating in a barn ( which sounds excessive) but it may well be the time of year counted against the overall ambience. Do not be afraid however!

Very friendly staff and great views out over Newquay from the restaurant. Nice relaxing vibe and good food.

Just perfect, we went for the 3 course Sunday lunch and we were just blown away from the moment we walked in.
