The food was like dish water and bland chicken Tikka. The chicken was tough and not the best. The sauce was well tasteless. The onion bhajis was well filled, looked good, but again lacked the taste, the pinky looking sauce well is shocking 😲 not a clue what that is meant to be

First time ordering from here for years. Absolutely amazing meal, everything from the starters to the mains and even the bread and rice. 10/10. My new favourite takeaway.

although the curry was nice it only filled half the container and was mainly oil and grease that I had to drain off

We ordered 2 vindaloo, and were looking forward to it, especially as it says very hot and you must be over 18 to purchase. So disappointed, not sure if they sent the wrong curry, but it wasn’t spicy at all, and this isn’t me being facetious because it wasn’t hot enough, it literally wasn’t spicy at all, it was korma level. Also, we ordered lamb tikka in the vindaloo, genuinely so tough we could not eat some of the meat. Chapati were nice, rogan Josh was ok, but what a let down the rest.

What can I say, this was the best Indian food in a long time. Generous size portions , staff very helpful. Take your own alcohol as only soft drinks are served. Great value for money, will definitely call again when in the area.

Don't go too often but absolutely love the kandahar dish..Can't get it anywhere else..

Awful Indian food. Poor quality meat, all overcooked and chewy, curries lacked depth of flavour. Onion bhajis were pure batter, tough to eat. The delivery driver was really nice at least.

Rubbish, oil on top of curry is disgraceful

We went for father's day having heard good things but soon realised it wasn't living upto the hype... After looking around the place it was looking a bit tired light fittings hanging down untidy bar area and not much atmosphere ie no music or anything to say it was an Indian/ Curry house... Having read the menu which was quite large I asked the waiter if the curry I was thinking of was spicy he said it was medium so I went with that as I can't eat the hot ones...my wife ordered a chicken curry that was described as creamy.. When it arrived it my curry looked good that was until I tried it...the taste was very strong and had a chemical taste which nearly peeled my lips over my forehead....the lamb was good though and we'll cooked but I knew I was going to struggle to eat it was quite spicy and the cumin seeds were very strong making it the only thing I could taste. My wife's curry was more mild but was very sweet to the point it was almost a desert it wasn't creamy either but bitty from all the desicated coconut... it resembled a sweet korma a dish of which my wife doesn't like. The description on the menu was nothing like what came . We left almost all of our food Having eaten little all day so we could eat our slap up meal but left hungry. Having been to another popular Indian restaurant in wakefield recently there was no comparison between the two Some people may like it here so make your own mind up....you can take your own booze in which is a bonus and the prices are ok but I guess this one just isn't for me I would liken it to just takeaway food in a drab setting... Wasn't terrible but bang average at best.

Had both eat in and take out and the food is fab. Service great and very friendly staff. It’s a BYO but there is a booze shop next door if you forget! Always our first choice.

Lovely food, only negative thing I’d say is the lamb was a bit tough. Apart from that all really nice 👍🏼

Beautiful curry. We had the korahi, saag paneer and keema rice with chapati. Absolutely delicious.

Hate leaving a bad review but was expecting more from a restaurant takeaway. Sag paneer was overcooked & burnt in places. Couldn’t eat it. King prawn madras’… king prawns were over cooked and chewy. Can’t eat them. Sauce was nice but was overly oily.

very poor compared to previous order. Arrived late despite ordering 2 hours in advance with no apology. Food needed warming up. Had to take 7 tablespoons of separated oil off mine. I always prefer quality over quantity but this failed on both. 5 prawns? half filled containers? At over thirty pounds for two mains and 2 rice we didn't expect to be still hungry!

Positives were that it arrived on time and the delivery driver was very polite and I was feeling a bit guilty I had no change to tip him. Here's what we ordered with a summary of each item: Chicken Pakoras, good portion, average taste. Onion Bhajis, poor and tasted reheated. Chips, definitely 100% had been reheated, stale Madras, we've never had a meal which was more orange grease than anything else until now. First time we've ordered, disappointing and will not order again, I think its bang offside paying over £30 for reheated leftovers, but thank you anyway, lesson learned

Been coming to Shuhag for around 3 years. Although the customer service has never been great, we've always returned because the food was excellent and always left a good tip, Unfortunately last nights Curries were nothing like we've had there before. Bhuna was particularly poor. Karahi very watery and So many onions... Customer service really poor again!!! They need to remember customers pay there wages, Staff were verging on rude!! Last visit from us we won't be returning

Delivered in good time however the food was dripping in oil , had to pour it off to make it edible. Popadoms were soggy, chips were not fresh definitely warmed up . Very disappointed considering the cost . Had food from here in the past and it was delicious. Reluctant to order from here again

Absolutely vile! I have never in my life seen curries that are as bad as what has just been delivered to my door, no way can we eat any of it, there is just mountains of grease dripping out of it and no sauce whatsoever just oil, I tasted the tikka masala and as well as just being all oil they must of put a ton of sugar in it too, it was horrendous and I’ll never order from this takeaway again! Very expensive too and the worst meal I’ve ever received! We have not touched it, it’s bagged back up

Delivered on time, the food was delicious and we’ll be ordering again for sure. Haven’t had anything from Shuhag for a good few years and it was a pleasure to see the food was still as good as I remembered. Especially the onion bhaji’s. Definitely highly recommend this restaurant.

Good curry. Spacious restaurant and very clean. Staff very polite and welcoming. Bring your own beers but no issues as a little shop next door. Will likely be back soon.

Went for a meal there as a couple on 23/05/23, after it was recommended, they did not disappoint. Great food (I had chicken cheese masala) and friendly service, I would recommend giving them a try if you have not been before, we will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

Simply appalling. Yet, again, Shuhag deliver - for the third time a meat dish when a vegetarian has been ordered. It’s as basic as that. Clearly this is our last time there, but we will pursue our experience through appropriate channels. As poor as it gets. The world is too competitive for them to get this wrong. Terrible levels of ignorance.

I am making this complaint as a loyal and regular customer of Shuhag. The food quality is usually excellent, and delivery is prompt. On this occasion, we ordered a delivery for 2 on a Thursday night. I’ll start with the delivery - the food took over an hour to arrive, and the restaurant is only 10 minutes away. When the food did arrive, the starters were cold and unenjoyable. Furthermore, my partner ordered the “Royal mix kebab”, which was not only cold but very disappointing, due to how small it was (2 pieces of chicken, 3 small pieces of lamb and a Shish kebab), and it did not even come with any salad. The bread of the prawn puree was also cold and had started to go hard. The main courses were moderately warm, but incredibly oily and the lamb flavourless. Unfortunately, this experience has put me off returning to Shuhag and I would certainly expect some sort of compensation for this poor delivery time, cold food and oily mains.
