Quality Food Very enjoyable. Best cheese and onion naan ever. Stumbled across this restaurant when our usual place was fully booked. This is now going to be our regular first choice

Great food, can recommend the buffet, although an extra £2.50 for fish starter was extreme as only got 4 small pieces of flat fish, however the main was excellent, and they altered it to cater my wishes, bring yr own beer or shop next door,

First time ordering from here, will definitely pay a visit. Food tasted delicious and was hot. Even my picky partner really liked it!

Been coming to Shuhag for around 3 years. Although the customer service has never been great, we've always returned because the food was excellent and always left a good tip, Unfortunately last nights Curries were nothing like we've had there before. Bhuna was particularly poor. Karahi very watery and So many onions... Customer service really poor again!!! They need to remember customers pay there wages, Staff were verging on rude!! Last visit from us we won't be returning

Brilliant food. Freindly service. Thus has become our no1 Indian restaurant.... brilliant.

Good curry. Spacious restaurant and very clean. Staff very polite and welcoming. Bring your own beers but no issues as a little shop next door. Will likely be back soon.

A fantastic place with great food

Went for a meal there as a couple on 23/05/23, after it was recommended, they did not disappoint. Great food (I had chicken cheese masala) and friendly service, I would recommend giving them a try if you have not been before, we will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

Lamb like rubber,Nan’s burnt and said would take comments to chef still charged for inedible food.much smaller portions than red chill or Yusufs in castleford.would not return.

Had a take away awful food a real insult to my family no real depth of spice or flavour tasted very sweet as if a half a jar of mango chutney had been added at the end as a last ditched attempt to addfosort of flavour just awful so disappointing we won’t be going back 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎we like authentic Indian and Bangladesh food this was so far removed from that I would stay home and cook yourself you will do much better

First time in this restaurant and I'll be back. Ordered two curries rice bread and bajies. All portions of good size chicken in the curries good size chunks. Food was very very tasty. Service was quick and polite.

We have just moved to Featherstone and thought we would try the local Indian. Very glad we did. We had the Sunday (and Wednesday) deal - which is £13.50 for five courses. This is poppadoms and mint sauce, any starter, any main, nan or rice and then coffee or ice cream. The restaurant is currently BYOB and also has soft drinks to buy. The food was absolutely fantastic, some of the best Indian food we have had in a while. My main, the Chicken Kandahar, was delicious. Recommended, will definitely visit again.

First takeaway order from this restaurant. Order was wrong and went back for a replacement naan. No offer of re cooked dish. Owner looked angry with me for going back. Food was not very good. Fb messaged to complain and they gave a laughing emoji back.

After having takeaways from here for last couple of yrs tonight ended it for us, i called the order in at 7 o'clock didn't get the order until 8:55 the meal was cold & part of order missing il now be taking business to the other restaurant in featherstone!!!!!

A good place friendly staff good food

We have used this restaurant over the past few months owing to the situation with the virus as it is local to us and would comment that the food has become progressively worse. We ordered yesterday one mixed Tandoori grill and veg curry, one pathia, rice and aloo gobi. My husband said it was awful the chicken burnt and dry and the chicken tikka tasteless. The other food was runny, greasy and extremely spicy for one pepper guide and the aloo gobi mushy, in fact we hardly ate any of it and wasted £35:64. We were very disappointed and wonder whether the chef needs training in producing a decent meal as this certainly wasn't. To say the least we will not be having any more food from this restaurant .

Great food takeaways far better quality during the week must be due to how busy they are

Couldn't get home for dinner as the motorway was closed so found this on google. They were about to close but kept the kitchen open for us and we had a tasty meal and a beer after a very fraught journey.

Visited here yesterday. We booked a table for 7.30 but upon arrival they had people crammed in, despite having signs up saying they had a max capacity of 28 due to Covid guidelines. We had to wait outside until a table came free, which we were happy to do. Upon getting to our table, the previous occupants had spilled food and drink all over the table and floor, which nobody had attempted to clean up. We were a table of 6, so they had pushed two tables together. We asked for the filthy tablecloths to be changed, due to the food but also covid as no attempt had been made at all to sanitise the area after the previous customers left. The waiter took off the black top tablecloth of one table and went to replace it. One of our party asked him to change the even dirtier white one underneath too, which he did reluctantly only to put a dirty one back on. He then went to change the second table and when he pulled the black cloth off the top the tablecloth underneath was absolutely covered in dried food and drink and didnt look to have been washed in weeks.When this was mentioned he said they didn't have any other tablecloths. The staff were leaning over people as they were so busy and nobody appeared to even know what social distancingbwas. I didnt see any hand sanitiser anywhere. They weren't taking card, only cash, which makes me question whether everything is being put through their tills as they didn't even bother to ask our parties names for track and trace. We walked out before it even came to ordering so cannot comment on the food but they don't seem to care about covid or general cleanliness so we won't be back.

Probably one of the worst Indian I've ever tasted. Lamb dry and the rice is hard and dry too. Phoned up to complain about having no sauce in our curry because it's all over the inside of the bag. Seriously need to learn people skills.

Had my first takeaway from the Shuhag. Food was lovely. Arrived hot and on time. Very tasty. We really enjoyed the meal. Even had some food left over which we froze for another day.

This is an excellent curry house, the vindaloo, a hard dish to get right, is one of the best around. Naan breads are amazing, starters are top notch. Service great and well priced menu. I've had hundreds of curries and it's right up there with the best of them. Keep up the good work!

Which is odd as all 3 previous meals (chicken) were very different and fine. My general rule is you don't need a steak knife and a good arm to cut chicken in a curry. Apparently I'm wrong. Didn't accept a refund. Quite happy to just say our expectations on food quality isn't aligned with their's.

Well Came advised as the food was nice, build clean and tidy welcomed once walked in the door, starters were fab but the main course all three of us had currys and they were rather watery and lacked the original Indian flavour. Maybe was just an off day as other said it's great hear. James.

Last time we went, food not so good (to be fair every other visit food been ok ) service ok , place was very quite and seemed run down. Few days later place closed due to fire ? Opened back up few months ago and have not been back as yet. Hope it's back to how it used to be

Poppadoms pickle tray absolutely fine, main was ruined by the meat, just chewing fat! Rice OK naan bread OK. Just the lamb was terrible.

We were at the opening of the Shuhag several years ago and it remains a great place to eat. Efficient, friendly service and good food at reasonable prices. It will continue to be one of our favourites.

Had a takeaway from shuhag hockley on 12 Apr 2019. Very good. Good value. Good choice. I collected my food and although busy was on time.

I was introduced to Shuhag out through a friend and doesn't look much but the food is amazing I'll definitely go back and have another meal there.

Visited shuhag recently and really enjoyed it . This is now my favorite Indian resturant

Not good at all over hour and half for delivery food cold lack of flavours very greasy, waste of money over £40 for cartons of cold tasteless slop, telephoned to tell the restaurant not interested. Will not use again used to be great!!

The food here was perfect, well presented, tasty and at a really good price. Lighting needs to be lowerd to make it more cosy and i was quite cold hence 4 stars but otherwise highly recomend.

The food here was excellent. Well presented, tasty and really well priced. Drinks were a good price to not ridiculous prices like alot of indian restaurants weve been to recently. Negatives where lighting was to bright need it lowering to make it more cosy, it was a little bit cold heating needed to be on as its quite a large place and the waitors wernt overly friendly. But please do not be put off by this as they are small things and the food was superb. Would definatly return and recomend.

Only called in for a takeaway but have had a few meals there , if you dont like indian food thats to hot try their Hydrabarrdi Chicken , spicy but not too hot . The service is excellent and beers are served too .

Excellent value for money, we went for the £9.95 Sunday (and Wednesdays) deal. Poppadoms (but pay a small charge for pickle tray) a starter a main and a choice from rice, chips or nann bread, ice cream or coffee. Plenty as well and really tasty with good staff and a nice atmosphere.

This used to be a great place to eat or have a takeaway but not anymore .I've even rung up to tell them the standard of cooking is not the same as with the other owners but they don't seem interested in anything you say .We won't be back .your loss .

It's a lovely restaurant, wasn't overly impressed with the food but that could have just been the one dish, I'd not heard of a lot of the dishes on offer and went with the description, next time I'll ask the waiter for a recommendation.
