Abdul's in Wakefield is a very busy place. It was almost packed when we arrived. It seems some of it regular like it. Unfortunately the food was not for me. After a long day, I was looking forward to some nice food. Once it arrived and I looked at it, I felt I made a mistake. I got a mix grilled but this was not what I expected. The two lamp chops were nice, the rest I did not eat. The chicken tikka did not look like tikka and was not even warm. The kebab looked like something sorry and gain not warm. I filled myself up with some fried which I ordered as an extra. My wife claimed her curry was nice but she left most of it on the pan. She also had some onion bhajis which I also had. They were cold in the middle. It is nicely presented but it counts for nothing if you don't feel like eating it. Maybe they really need to revisit their menu and properly warm their food up.

It was my first time coming here and wow, I was amazed. The curry that I had (balti mushroom paneer) was gorgeous as it was really creamy unlike other Indians that I have been too. 10/10. Would recommend! 👍😋

Expensive but you get what you pay for

I don't live local (travel about an hour to get to Abduls) but it is so worth it. I have visited several times now and the food has been delicious everytime. A special thank you to Ahmed, he was polite, helpful and provided excellent service.

I am absolutely disgusted and shocked at the way we were spoken to as a family from the til staff! We have never felt so discriminated in our lives!! We will be avoiding this racist joint, and will be sharing our experience with all our family and friends. As a regular, I would rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Avoid! Teach your staff some basic manners!!!

Awesome Chicken Achari with mushrooms apna style with chapatis. The sauce was creamy and thick with the perfect tang from the achar. Would definitely recommend.

Great service amazing food. Value for money One thing I really love about Abdul’s is that they have table cleaner and blue roll available for use, it’s great when it’s busy to be able to clean your own table, unlike some places where you have to wait ages or just eat on a dirty table. All in all Abdul’s is an amazing curry house You know its good when Abdul himself is eating what he serves!

It's such a shame. You used to be the best indian takeaway in Wakefield but now I'm afraid that each time I order I get a different meal from what it should be and it's never good! Abdul is great when he cooks, but it's so rare now. Abdul, train your staff your recipes and do quality check, or close PLEASE. No point in been open if your going to let sub standard food be sold under your name. Even the chips are pale and soggy or so overly salted that it ruined the entire meal. I won't ever order again. The best thing on your menu right now is the onion bhajis and even they can sometimes come out powdery. If you were a cheap takeaway then fair enough, but charging £14 for a curry, chips and a Nann is just plain ripping people off when the quality is so poor.

Probably not impressed much with taste of food. Not very typical of Indian Pakistani taste. Good for those who like nice place to enjoy with very light spicy food.

Absolutely smashing! Visited while away with work... Tried somewhere different every night and this was best by far! Absolutely delicious food, brilliant fast service and unbelievable prices! I thought the portions would be small because the prices are so reasonable, so I got a starter to go with my mixed kebab. And chips! Flipping heck I was absolutely stuffed but I had to keep eating because it was so nice! Takeaway provided in good containers, really well thought out. Might stop in next time I go the restaurant looks nice. Seriously... The kebab I paid £5.50 for here would be almost £20 at home and nowhere near as tasty as Abdul's!

Always amazing food. They’re happy to amend recipes if it’s within their control too, we ask for Asian style on the more plain creamier curries to make them spicy and they’re always happy to oblige. Would always recommend.

Heard a lot about this place and surprised how good it was, was busy but service is quick and efficient. Ordered 3 starters and a main with naan, all fresh and really good with prices low compared to most places i have been to. The curry was spicy and well seasoned, came in hungry and left with a big smile.

I come to Abul's often. I came on mother's day and Abdul the owner was there. What a nasty horrid man he is. He was rude, intimidating and put his female staff down. I had asked the young girl on the tills for a curry and explained I wanted the one with sauce not the dry one, she knew what I was talking about and all was fine till the server gave me the food and said sorry we could not make that dish with sauce. I would of walked out with the food had she not approached me on this as it was for my daughter and I would not of been aware it was not what she wanted. Then he came Mr Abdul, what a vile rude nasty man he was. He was shouting at me, calling me a liar, telling his staff nothing will be good enough and more, I was just going to leave and another young girl wanted to make it right and he kept saying thing's to the point I had to leave and sit in my car. when I went back in he started again saying oh what is it now what does she want now, I'd gone to pick up my order, he was saying the girls on front are just girls not chefs and they don't know anything. The females said sorry to me for his behaviour and they were lovely but I will never go to Abdul's ever again for that man to speak to me the way he did Infront of my child who has autism and was extremely upset.

Very nice, great value for money. Order at the till go find a seat and bring your food to you. To say who busy they are the food comes out fast. Can't complain about nothing, great staff. Sometimes it can be hard to get a seat the place is that busy.

I have been going here for a few years but the service on my last visit was terrible, first I was told 15 minute wait for the food. Then when I got there it took another 20minutes and they had forgot my order so I had to tell them it once again. I asked for a plain naan they gave me a cold garlic one and the chicken burger was dry and frozen.

It was wonderful, I had delicious Asian food with family.

I’m so happy with the food from here. We have ate here multiple times in the last month and every dish has been delicious and gluten free available. All the staff seem helpful and have a smile on their face and my kids love the chicken korma. We have been traveling Europe for the last 2 years and apparently this is their favourite place so far 😂

this place needs shutting down, disgusting food preparation areas, cooked and raw meat left on the shelves without being refrigerated, stock being left on the bare floors how no one has got food poisoning yet is beyond me

Order asked for Asian style, Masala Fish.... too salty, no masala. Lamb biryani .. tasteless, no taste of Biryani Chicken Acheri ... wrong dish came out packed ... chicken makhni was received instead of Acheri.

Love the chicken Jafrani and the mango lassi is lovely. I don’t live in Wakefield so it’s a treat when I’m over. Did a phone order and it was quick. Fabulous as always.

Where do i start? Table sizes are like a kids play table...... we waited over 45mins when we was told 15mins. Do not listen to the waiter , archari isnt the one..... one guy in love with bringing sauces every 5mins , he must be on sauce commission. Vibe wasnt the one, starters served in unacceptable paper trays..... table was so small kept dropping stuff

Asian food,this restaurant surprised me,the service,i was amazed how quick it was,they got my food ready,it felt like being in a fast food restaurant but not,yes you heard that right,they were cooking dishes like flipping burgers! Today i would like to tell all of you about Abdul’s owner Abdul Ghafoor. I’m not gonna talk on food I’m here to talk about what he’s doing with his asian peoples staff who are basically the main role in his restaurant. I have never seen a stupid boss like him coz he tease his staff on daily basis he always shout on them he never appreciates his own asian peoples he never respect them he pays just small money and tell them to do everything this is what the reality and I’m sharing experience from one of his own employe Muzamil Khan who worked here. First he kicks him from the job and then he didn’t pay his 4 days wage and when he asked for his money he blocks him everywhere and never respond him. Muzamil is innocent guy and didn’t come to his restaurant again because he don’t want him to be ashamed for little money. I’m also living in wakefield and i swear to God if you didn’t pay his 4 days wage i’m gonna tell every asian community which are local to me what you’re doing to your staff. I’m mentioning his Acc details and name then you have to send his 4 days wage tomorrow otherwise it will make big trouble and I’m sure you don’t wanna ruin your business just for 200£. It’s his right because he works for 4 days of week from 16:00 to 24:30 every day so you can’t eat that I’m sorry Abdul. I stumbled upon the Instagram videos of the preparation, it is a disgrace to Indian cuisine. I would recommend Abdul to call the restaurant Pakistani or Bangladeshi to truly represent his roots, rather than lying about a cusine he has never witnessed. All the videos were with actors and models. I hope they didn't hype the reviews as well. Absolutely disgusted with the food and videos..

Abdul's food for me is one of the best Indian's I've ever hard and I am very hard to please! Lamb achari is mouthwatering alongside the peshwari and garlic naan which are so yummy. Mixed starters, pilau rice are good too! Very cheap as well! I can see why it's a hit!

The tables arw ridicilously small there was 6 of us and the table is same size as a table for 2 just the seating area is larger no space to put all the food

Went today and I have never seen such a disorganise place, I walked in and there was no waiters. I had to go to the front till myself to grab a menu. Once I ordered I did not get shown to a table and just told take a seat. My starters was given to the wrong table as there was no form of organisation with the eat in orders. I had 2 dishes which came to my table which was not what I ordered so this was sent back. I had to wait another 30 minutes for my food to come, it came out lukewarm and it was not up to standard or worth the hype and stigma around this place. The food was Mediocre and did not have much taste. P.S. The staff looked like they were forced to be there and had a face on the whole time they were serving. I could see the manager and all they did was walk around and not really involved in making sure the place is running fine or service is up to a good standard. Worst place I have been to by far from the food to the service. Was very disappointed Popadoms were left on top of the frying area with no form of box or cover, they was left there to collect dust and the staff was using this as-well for diner service

What a shame! We’ve been visiting Abduls over 20 years! The curries were watery & tasteless the last time we went! We are gutted! Please go back to how you were before! We paid more & travelled for your food because you gave beautifully cooked food! Please do not skimp on cost!!

Excellent food. Beautiful place. Not from around the area ended up here as a last resort as normal go to place back local was closed! Would definitely return. Service is 10/10 cant remember the last place that had this good customer service. The lad at counter absolutely top man! So reasonable priced all was fresh!!

Food was really good, atmosphere was good zal was absolutely brilliant with her service and recommended us with food.

This isn't your typical Indian restaurant. More like fastfood meets Indian food. A McDonald's of Indian food if you will. The food is actually pretty good. I have rated the service as 3 as its more self service and the seating waits are long as there isn't much seating.

Order 2 curry's, free chips, rice or naan not wanted, only to be told I can not have 3 pomperdom's, as it was not allowed. The fact I would pay for the pomperdom's was irrelevant. I think they need to train their young staff a bit better.

We’ve been visiting Abdul’s for over 20 years and it never disappoints. £12 for 2x chicken kebabs on naan bread, a portion of chips and 2x salads is outstanding value . Super tasty food, always freshly made, and friendly staff. So nice to see Abdul still working there! We’d recommend Abdul’s to anyone and I hope we’ll be visiting for another 20 years to come :)

Wow. Amazing quality and very very reasonably priced.

Absolutely awful. The curries were tasteless. The Dopiaza was unrecognisable. It was like a tasteless korma. It was creamy? The starters were bland and the naan looked like they’d bought it from a supermarket. So expensive for such terrible food. Avoid at all costs.

Very good food never had a bad experience here always absolutely spot on

Food used to be better than it is currently. Half the time the food we get is almost cold and all the curry's just seem to be very similar. A lot of creamy stuff and not much else. Hot Curries aren't spicy at all really and I'm a light weight when it comes to chillies. The salad bar looks questionable too. Some of it looks to have been there a while.

Amazing food, vast choice. Lovely staff. Kitchen is open so you can see how you food is being prepared and cooked. Quite busy, but I walked in and my order was ready within 25 mins. There is an option for pre order online or via telephone. Would definitely recommend for anyone local to wakefield.

We used Abduls as a team meal, we spent over £150 with a wide variety of meals and diets and the lady on the till double checked every single item to ensure we had everything correct. Top service and amazing food. If you have never been I highly recommend and you won't be disappointed

Recommended by family and whilst visiting from London came to Abduls for dinner. What can I say - just wow! Flavoursome food, spice levels just right, very reasonably priced and excellent customer service. We tried the lamb karahi and chicken biryani (without the veg) - definitely the best two dishes we have had when eating out. This will be a must place to eat from everytime we come. The only thing I'd say is the table are slightly small but we managed to put two tables together for 5 of us. Would highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed!
