We ate here twice during our stay at the St Moritz and thought it was great. Whilst the menu was refreshingly unpretentious the food was of very high quality on both occasions - the chef clearly has real talent! The staff were all very friendly and looked after us very well.

Great food, very well looked after by the staff. We return here to the hotel every January and will continue to do so! Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights, it sounds basic but the bed was so comfortable and the room was very quiet so two big ticks there. We ate in the restaurant each night and enjoyed every meal. Steak and the burger were some of the best I’ve had but the French onion soup was incredible. Will be back with the family especially when the new pool is finished.

Absurd difference in service from breakfast to dinner. At breakfast everything was streamlined and efficient, servers were polite and courteous and couldn't do enough. Come the evening, everything was sloppy, staff seemed confused and took far too much time to put a simple drinks order together. Not a great experience, though food was consistently good at least!

What a gorgeous place and even more gorgeous staff - we phoned after 5 asking for a cream tea - the kitchen had finished their daily scones by this time. Zoe and charlotte called the kitchen who offered to make a fresh batch and apologised for the 20-25 wait!! How lovely of them all - my elderly mum was with us and it really did make her day - we were served hot fresh scones which were fabulous and the lovely Harry on front of house was a delight - thank you to vicki and Ben in the kitchen who made our food as well as our day - we were expecting a much more expensive bill too but it was so reasonable we were shocked - thank you all for welcoming and bending over backwards to accommodate us even though we weren’t residents of the hotel / truly wonderful and would thoroughly recommend

This is a very nice hotel, with an ambience and decor in the main areas leading one to expect very good food. The reception and area and bar are stunning, but the restaurant itself feels more like a cafeteria. I could not fault the quality of the staff but service was very slow and they admitted to being under-staffed. Six of us each had a main course and we also shared some sort of bacon jam doughnut which was a main course option but the waiter very sensibly suggested we didn't have as a main course. It seemed interesting to try but it was terrible. He did at least knock it off the bill. I had crab cakes which appeared to be mainly brown crab meat and potato and I really didn't like them, disappointing as I love seafood. three of the party had burgers which I was told weren't very nice either. I would be happy to stay in the hotel but wouldn't want dinner there.

For a luxury hotel, this restaurant is disappointing. If you are vegetarian or vegan you have serious problems because they do not cater for you. There was no vegetarian or vegan starter and when the waitress asked the chef, we were told we could have a seasonal salad. The only vegetarian/ vegan option was an Asparagus dish. Given that Asparagus is not in season and they charge us £16 for this non-seasonal dish, it is robbery! My wife and I were incredibly disappointed as the restaurant is not reflective of how nice the hotel is.

The menu is quite small but we both managed to find acceptable options. I had the mushroom soup. I loved the pickled mushrooms but the base soup and the picked mushrooms didn’t quite work together. My steak main was not the best. It was quite fatty and cooked more than I wanted it. I must say the truffle potato was really nice though. All in all, the food did not hit the spot. Sadly, the service was poor too. The staff were lovely people but they felt so disorganised that the service felt almost hopeless. They offered water and bread but brought neither. Both only came after we asked again after waiting a good while because you sensed that the staff were very stressed. In normal times, I would’ve complained and might have been offered a free round of drinks but that wouldn’t make the food more enjoyable or the staff slick. We will return to the hotel but might not have dinner in the restaurant next time unless there are a lot of glowing reviews posted nearer the time.

I would highly recommend the Shorecrest Restaurant. The food was really lovely but what made the meal was the wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, in particular Jules. She made our evening and we will definitely be returning. Working in a customer facing job myself you appreciate good staff and Jules is definitely that!! Massive thanks.

The Shorecrest is the new name for the St Moritz's restaurant which seems to be a it less posh than it was with burgers and fish and chips on the menu, rather just at the bar. My food, hammock terrine followed by mussels was just lovely together with a decent bottle of wine for under £30. Will come back

Reading below reviews, I'm extremely surprised to read of such disappointment as our dinner in this hotel restaurant was fab. I very much enjoy eating out and not shy of spending money on good food. The St Moritz restaurant clearly put a lot of time and effort into the menu, service and food prep. Being able to see your food being prepared can be both negative and positive, but on this occasion I liked it; especially in anticipation of waiting on our dishes. It may not be the cheapest of restaurants, however every course we had was delicious and the portion sizes are generous (if not too generous; especially the risotto starter). I would definitely recommend eating here, a guest of the hotel or not*. *just don't wear a heavy wolly jumper as it was quite hot in the restaurant on our visit.

The Shorecrest Restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere with polite staff and lovely warm fire. I had a Steak for mains, which was cooked to perfection whilst being nice presented and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was very fascinating to watch the chefs work in the open kitchen and nothing was too much for the waiting staff. They walked around with a smile and happy to engage in conversation. I had a lovely evening and would highly recommend. Locals even get a discount card Thanks St Moritz.

My husband and I decided to stop here for a last minute dinner on our way to our accommodation in Polzeath. Expecting the standard fair for a hotel. Boy we were wrong...we were greeted by happy and enthusiastic staff. We sat in the bar area were we were treated to exceptional cocktails to start. Espresso martini is to die for. then shown to our table in a very chic and tastefully designed dining room with a big open kitchen( I am normally not a fan of open kitchens but this one just seems part of the experience). A small menu but offering more than enough choice. I had the goats' mousse and hubby the Boudin Noir. Beautifully presented (this happens all to often in London where the food looks wonderful but lacks any flavour), not the case here. The depth of flavour and attention to detail was phenomenal. Next, two lamb shoulder, cooked for 12 hours(according to the menu). I have never cooked lamb that long for fear of it drying out. Again, not here. It was succulent and tender like I have never had before. We didn't have space for dessert unfortunately. The service was slick and attentive. The only negative comment I could make was that it was not busy at all (only 3 other tables). I honestly don't understand why. It must be the best kept secret in the south west. We will most certainly return...

Amazing food and service at the Shorecrest Restaurant last night. Nothing was too much for the Restaurant Manager, Gus, who went out of his way to make our evening amazing (and accommodating my fussy diet order!) We were met by Gus in the bar, where they offer a wide selection of cocktails (and mocktails for drivers!) The food was brilliant, beautifully presented scallops and pork belly confit and the steak was cooked to perfection. My partner had the lamb, slow cooked, melt in the mouth! The waitress made sure that our drinks were topped up throughout the night and the staff were the perfect combination of chatty and friendly without being obtrusive. A lovely evening, thank you to everyone at St Moritz :)

The Deck in Perranporth is a nice spot right by the coast! They have a fantastic drinks selection, perfect for enjoying after a day at the beach. The friendly bar staff create a relaxed and welcoming vibe. A great place to unwind and soak in the Perranporth atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic food from chef Dan! I'm vegan so we called ahead to make sure I'd have something to eat since there's nothing vegan on the menu and we were told the chef would come up with options, but I wasn't prepared for how much care would go into those options. He came to the table to talk to me about how he could convert things on the menu and came up with several options for me to cater to my specific likes (well really to avoid my dislike of mushrooms). The food was absolutely incredible, and my meat and fish eating companions thoroughly enjoyed theirs too. Best birthday dinner I've ever had I think! The other staff were also very friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. We appreciated all their help 💗

I do volunteer work in a local shop and one of my friend / colleague came in to relieve me from my shift and he had chicken tikka roll which he was thoroughly enjoying. I asked him where he had got it from and whether Coronation Chicken was on the menu and the answer was Butter Bun and yes they do. I came and ordered one to takeaway . So yummy. Nice range of salad to go in it. I will be back as enjoyed it so much and good value for money . I forgot to take a photo

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious haddock, medium chips, and gluten-free cod and chips. The skinless fish was beautifully cooked in a bubbly batter, and the generous portions of chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The staff were lovely, and the premises were clean. Our only disappointment, whilst we requested large fish, it transpired that only small or standard sizes are available. The fish, however, was rather small considering that it cost £9 alone (£12.50 with chips) so not great value & disappointing after a couple of days of looking forward to it. Aside from that, we recommend this establishment.
