The guy who served us was very rude to my partner and myself threatened to k8ck.ke out if I used a door that was open that had a table in it which was a fire hazard also let people smoke in the door way avoid this place was given 1 pot of tea between 4 when ordered 2 cream teas scones are not the best as well avoid this place unless you wany to be abused by staff

Wonderful food great customer service. Simple jacket potato sent to another level with the filling overflowing Burger was juicy and tasty Lasagna delicious Sides perfect Would recommend to everyone

Staff is rude. I ordered lasagne that was awful salad is stale just Garlic Bread is OK. Coffee is tasteless. I wouldn’t come again and wouldn’t recommend.

Polite Staff and affordable food, Fantastic Brunch and the eggs were done right £22 for 2 Pints of Orange juice and 2 full english breakfast. Will come again.

Give a zero if I could, RUDE STAFF , all arguing amongst themselves, 3 people behind bar only serving 1 person at a time, RUDE , avoid go next door.

A chilled couple of hours, with nice food, wine, and some decent weather, bar staff very helpful and easy going, it's not the poshest place in town and doesn't pretend to be, but it has a relaxing atmosphere helped by friendly staff.

Shiraz is a convenient location to sit outside and enjoy a cold beer on a hot sunny day.

Outdoor seating with large rain proof sun shades/ umbrellas. Great location adjacent similar bar/food outlets. On marina harbour-side we sheltered there when it poured down with rain late morning in May. Restricted movement along the harbour side as road works were in place. Purchased 2 large coffees very nice. No table Sevice cash or contactless. Friendly staff. Wheelchair accessible. No parking.

Always come to here a couple times a year and it’s definitely are go to place food was lovely , also staff are friendly especially Richard , perfect location to just chill and watch the world go by

Went in and was greeted horribly but a bar man shouldn’t have turned around and left but hunger and the wife made me stay unfortunately it didn’t get better as the food was ages to turn up all in all a horrible experience

Can’t find the words to Describe how bad this place is yes you’re in a prime location but we all expect an alimentary of value for money you won’t get anything except the most basic of food at the most expensive price for what ever they can pull out of a freezer and change as much as they can change for from the freezer to your plate and to say the staff are curt is putting it mildly there attitude is Consider the temperature lucky we’re here

WOW! a fabulous harbour front restaurant with a limited but spectacular menu, food was superb and very well presented and cooked, kudos to the chef, they have a great range of draft alcohol and are reasonably priced.

I went here yesterday with my partner and child for some lunch as we are on holiday. The last behind the bar is the rudest person I have ever met. She was extremely unhelpful, very blunt, unfriendly and didn’t even smile once or even say ‘Hello’ the only time she spoke was when she told me to pay. I had asked for a coke, wasn’t told there was only Coke Zero so I asked to change to a j20. I asked for it in the bottle as she totally disregarded me. My 22 month year olds chicken was pink inside and had a line of blood through it. I am pregnant and when I asked for the steak To be medium, she said no it’s already done so when asked how the steak is cooked she just shrugged at me. I then asked for prawns (fine if they’re cooked!) and she questioned me after rolling her eyes at me. I then explained pink prawns are fine but not grey. She went on to say they will be grey and she even asked the guy in the kitchen who told me they were raw and frozen and served like that ……(they weren’t, they were pink- one good thing!) whilst eating she kept coming by our table and vaping. Just a really horrible experience from Such a cold lady. Go elsewhere!

Called Shiraz but doesn't have any. Signs says Hop House lager but doesn't have any. Overpriced. Relies on location. Have to queue for service but staff members available. Didn't try food.

Beer is expensive £6.95 a pint a san miguel were not in central London

Loved this place. Owner was amazing to us. We loved the food. Really a little gem of a place. We will definitely go back when we visit Torquay again one day. Thanks to the owner for making it a great visit. Jo

We drank here a few times during our week's holiday, the drinks were great, especially the fact they have Thatcher's. The staff let this place down, no such thing as good customer service here unfortunately. The food was ok, with plenty of choice on the menu and all.

Ordered 2 pints of Madri and it cost £13.90 absolutely disgusting especially when you don’t even get table service way too expensive!!!

It was a morning out with my mum, we are both from the north so a hearty breakfast is in our blood. I thought it would be cool to find somewhere to sit outside, sun is shining of course why not. We wandered into the harbour and thought we would check this place out. To me and my mum I thought it was one of the the best breakfasts in town. Has quoted by a lovely lady ‘it was made with love!’ and has a chef of breakfast cooking back in the day, it truly was a tasty plate of food and the service was top notch. You have gained new fans, we will definitely visit again. We kinda felt the northern warm welcome and to us that’s all you need. Eggs cooked perfectly. Ace morning.

£7 for a lager and a smile wouldn't have gone a miss from the barmaid. No atmosphere and barmaid looked like she didn't want to be there.

Madly overpriced. Scaring off the tourists mate! £6.95 for San Miguel! Rock garden a better pub and priced at £5.40.

Great location, staff very polite and friendly, best pint of Thatchers in Torquay my husband who uses a walking stick due to mobility and balance issues particularly liked this venue due to accessibility, the owner should be immensely proud of his team, whenever in Torquay this will be our 1st choice of venue

Popped in as a walk by and we wanted to grab a light bite before heading back to our Hotel. Ordered a pint and half of lager, chips and a cajun chicken baguette... my wife asked for bread as we aren't a fan of overly crusty bread. It came unbuttoned, dry and quite frankly not tasty at all. Chips were OK but given cheap and tasteless sauces. Service not great and £23 for the pleasure, won't be going back

Second time of visiting had prawn sandwich full to the sides with prawns served with chips and side salad worth every penny.

Not been in such a clean welcoming restaurant for a long time, my favourite place for a coffee., try food later.

Called in for a drink and light lunch with our two children aged 10 & 12. Sat ourselves on a vacant table and was told we couldn’t sit there because we had children. We were told to move to the back of the venue. Needless to say we left! Discrimination at its best!

Although my order was wrong it was remedied quickly. The guy (who seemed like the manager) was very helpful and friendly. He seemed to be doing everything. Think they were short staffed. My meal was lovely.

Fast service from staff who were so welcoming and helpful, beautiful views over the harbourside, delicious food in large portions and excellent value for money, amazing atmosphere and my fabourite beer which I've only ever tasted in Spain and not since 2019 so a wonderful surprise. If you want somewhere to have a decent pint and meal that's not overly loud or boisterous like other places then I urge you to visit Shiraz :)

The service here is awful we wouldnt eat here again. We ordered a starter and mains now anyone who has ever ordered starters and mains they are meant to bring out the starters 1st then the mains, not all of it at once. You couldnt fit all the plates on the on the tiny table. The staff seem clueless on standards of service. Its shocking a bar doens't have merlot which is £1> cheaper than the other red wine. Didnt like how the serving staff hovering around and taking the plates so fast you blink they are gone.

Rubbish coffee, rude manager ignored my disability and told me to get in the queue while I supported myself at bar getting refund.

We weren't expecting much from the cream tea but chose the location as it had baby changing. Got served curdled milk so asked for a new tea, was again served the same curdled milk. Left a pair of Ray-bans sunglasses on the table but on return 10 minutes later they were nowhere to be seen... Terrible experience.

Food not the best, the Lasagna I had was Luke warm and my husband's meal, Cajun chicken was cremated. Wouldn't eat here again, infact we won't be back to Torquay again full stop. The place is a dive.

Came here prior to wrexham /torquay game .It was expectionally busy ,but staff found chairs for us ,only 2 bar staff on so very long queues for drinks ,breakfast was reasonably priced and excellent ....there was a wonderful atmosphere and enjoyed a few hours here in the sun .

We visited Torquay as it was my Birthday and popped in here for a spot of lunch. We ordered 2 Lasagnes which came with a side salad and garlic bread, we also ordered 1 side of chips. Well we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely visit again.

Terrible! Avoid for food. Ordered from the main menu, both meals came and were cold in the middle.. it was clear nothing was homemade and all microwaved. The glasses were dirty and had lipstick stains on both! The atmosphere was very cold and unwelcoming. Although the food was reheated no effort was made to offer discount on the bill or an alternative choice. Very disappointing. Would not recommend at all!

I have never witnessed such rudeness from a particular bar staff team member ever! She had no idea how to mix drinks, operate the till nor treat customers. She charged us well over the odds for our 2 drinks and when I confronted her she yelled at her collegue and asked for help. When her collegue tried to help her she yelled and snapped at her and verbally abused her and then started using foul language in front of me. The F WORD to be precise! She had a horrible attitude and possibly anger issues because of the way she conducted herself. Absolute horrible place and disgustingly over priced with really bad unfriendly staff..

Food was fab staff wasn't very pleasant we didn't feel very welcomed as soon as the food came out they started clearing around us and turning lights off its was 730pm on a Friday sunny evening I just got the impression that the staff working that shift wanted us gone as fast as possible as they had plans of there own. Popped in for a drink with my wife on Friday evening. Should of realised that there must be something wrong with the place as they were so quiet. Found all three staff members present to be totally lacking in customer service skills. At no point...

We visited this pub twice , with our two dogs and was made so welcome the staff were so pleasant and helpful , can’t thank them enough .

What aload of rubbish, I ordered a chicken burger that didn't even cover half the bun it was served in! My husband ordered crab cakes, don't bother they're not fresh and we're over cooked. The kids meals were passable but then again they have no standards where food is concerned as they are foster kids who were starved previously...absolute s#%;e! Sorry lots of room for improvement here, go elsewhere!

Not sure if this is just for locals, however it is around the marina so tourists are expected. We had been in a couple of other places for drinks around the marina, all welcoming and accommodating with children. We went inside here found a table...

Ordered large English breakfast just to try it out. No customers outside and only one inside at 930 am Sunday morning. Although it was typical and nothing noteworthy it still hit the spot. Two breakfasts and two coffees for 19 quid. View of the harbour, prompt wait staff. Not fine dining, the dining was fine.

It's alright. Nice coffee and half decent brekkie, bit marred by the fact that you feel like you're a pain in the ar*e

Normally love shiraz food no complaints drinks nice and cold just what you want on nice day but last night 19th May went down for a meal and drinks before going to show but we did not realise they close at 6pm staff started packing table and chairs away while we were still eating made us feel very uncomfortable was not pleased

We think the Guy and girl behind the bar need to smile a bit more,,,,the server had a lovely smile 😃

Last year I visited ‘Shiraz’ on quite a few occasions. Last year table service was available, hence the higher prices of drinks etc… I have now revisited ‘Shiraz’, and was told that I now had to order my drinks etc at the bar… Which I’m...

Not particularly customer friendly. Very expensive. Staff seem more interested in talking to each other than to customers. Cold atmosphere. Won't visit again. There are better places in Torquay.

Rude customer service, instead of explaining to customers not to take glasses outside he threw his hands in the air and shouted across the centre what are you doing… this is extremely embarrassing as everyone was then watching, instead of being professional and coming over to us to talk to us he chose to SHOUT at us from across the centre. We then explained how we didn’t know you couldn’t do this and we was simply asking other family members if they wanted a drink and he then proceeded to look down at us and act like we were stupid… would not recommend as other bars around here are extremely nice and polite, such a shame one man can put a bad name on a business… would not recommend.

While on holiday we visited shiraz for a meal they went out off their way to prepare the 8 of us a full english breakfast even though it was after 2pm and the breakfast finished at 12pm i would highly recommend them when visiting torquay
