Green Ginger in Torbay

So went to order a breakfast at the bar went with the traditional breakfast and a coffee as I turned to use the coffee machine a lady bar staff was staring right through me she was holding a breakfast so I thought no chance that's mine 🤔 it was 🤣🤣🤣 just placed the order by the time I got to the coffee machine the breakfast was done 🙄 I shouted over to her is that cooked? She said yeah absolutely useless in there I've learnt my lesson with them now waste of time and money

Came for a midweek breakfast, smooth service at the bar and plenty of seats available at 10am. Food came very quickly, almost too quick but was hot and presented well. Coffee machines were serviced promptly by staff if they weren’t playing ball. Business was picking up when I left, so an earlier breakfast would be a good call if you prefer something quieter

Mediocre food. Wine and ale was funky. Service wasn't great.

The atmosphere was good for breakfast and also on Saturday Night but was a bit noisy on Friday Night when several Hen Parties were there. Staff friendly and helpful. Food is the usual Wetherspoons Menu however they did still have Steaks on the Grill Menu which most over Spoons have dropped.

Chloe behind the bar was unfriendly quite rude insincere, no please no thank you. Didn’t finish off our drinks order before she went off to do something else. Appalling !! The table next to us felt the same way. The boss ought to know. Not a welcoming place to come to. Met lots of friends there but won’t get coming back again Food was ok but could have been hotter

George was amazing when I come into this establishment, she was fully engaged in conversation & made me feel welcome. I hope she sees this review because it gives a reflection on how customers feel. I can not thank her enough for the way I was treated.

Wetherspoons understand what the people want

Interesting building and interior with views all round, well worth a look. As usual for 'Spoons, loads of captivating local history on the walls - Peter Cook, Agatha Christie, etc. Bit of a mess under table 43 that we sat at - Heineken can, egg shell and signs of a picnic (?!) bit good ale 🍺

The food was great and Gareth was pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. He made our visit more enjoyable with his attitude and interest in us. We had eaten here a number of times in March and the food was always good and well presented.

Everything was just ok but that’s what you pay for in a Wetherspoons

Only popped in for a coffee or two. The place was very busy for an early morning but the service was very efficient.

Large area with outdoor terrace (lovely warm afternoon for March) centre of town close to harbour, shops, bus stops, well worth popping in

Great food cider and the price is good

Excellent Service by all the Staff who were very helpful and courteous and very pleasant. You can order your food and drinks at your table by using the Wetherspoons App, this a very fast service most of the time. It is reasonably priced.

Called in for coffee on Saturday morning. Wasn't too buy when we arrived but it soon filled up. £1.71 for coffee - it has gone up - but when you have 2 or 3 it's great vaule. Always lovely coffee too.

Freindly staff and a great social space

Lovely venue. Quick service at the table. Staff friendly and keen to help. Food is also tasty , good portions, nice value of money. Situated in town centre, not far away from the harbour.

THIS IS A 3.5 STAR REVIEW, truly middle of the road, don't avoid this place, it's ok. I didn't shit myself after the burger, the but the lack of reaction to England's sold rugby performance against Italy got barely a clap from the rest of the people in the pub which made me wonder why I'd even gone to Torquay in the first place.

Really nice spoons, it was packed though, we managed to get a table on a Friday and Saturday nights without too much waiting. The staff were friendly as were the bouncers on the door.

My son and I had been on my boat, and this place is a short walk from the harbour. We found a window seat area, and my son ordered using his app. Drink arrived in about ten minutes and food in twenty. Most tables were occupied, but the service did not suffer. I have never experienced bad service or cold food, which was ordered as hot, The quality of food, in that case for me was scampi and chips with a dip. I had a small plate, which was just right for lunch. The Green Ginger is a very good venue for a casual drink with snack or a good meal, I recommend it!

Not a big fan of wetherspoons as no longer that cheap plus stupid not letting dogs sit our side , In devon it's as a very large population who own dogs plus there are loads of pubs cafe and restaurants that let dogs in for that reason ( maybe that's why they are not doing as well and closing pubs) but this spoons is good sevice is fast and staff very good I would go again and would more often if I could take my dog with me if only outside but that's spoons loss not mine

Typical wetherspoons in the centre of Torquay with expected range of beers and food. Nice outside area when sunny, a second bar with a reduced range of drinks, can be very busy at the weekends.

Worse steak I've had at a wheatherspoons, steak was very chewy alots of grissle. Air con was blowing out cold air, had to put my coat on.

The standard spoons offering and usually ok to get a table.

There are 2 bars. The one further in is quieter, and you get served quicker if there's a queue at the first bar in.

Very busy as usual. Plenty of seats however. Best place for cheap refillable coffees.

Had a pleasant couple of hours here good value nice and warm good ambience.

As a regular visitor to Wetherspoons across the UK, I’m sad to say this location has the worst breakfast I’ve experienced. I’ve visited four times over the past few months, each time hoping for improvement, but it’s been the same every time. The items are always cold, the fried eggs are hard and dry, and nothing feels fresh. In all honesty, it’s probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had.

Poor service from the strawberry blonde girl behind the bar. They were rude and claimed they were short staffed. I think the only thing that was short was her ability. Incredibly rude, incredibly stubborn. Customer service: 0/10. Couldn’t trust her to run a bath.

Food was half sized portions of any other wetherspoons we had been in. Very busy and lots of staff during the day. Went back in the evening, ordered some picky bits and drinks which were nice. Ordered some more drinks on the app and waited 20 mins . I asked a girl delivering drinks to another table if there was a problem with the app as I'd ordered drinks ages ago,she said I'm doing them,I've got about 50 tables to look after and I'm going as fast as I can! Rude! Don't think ill be going back in a hurry .

You always know what you are going to get at Wetherspoons, definitely not salubrious but always fantastic value for money!

Didn't eat there as we were staying in a hotel near there we sat outside as the sun was shining and quite warm 👍 great service 👍👍

It could do with a deep clean !!! the place was filthy and the toilets were a disgrace, people smoking in the entrance you had difficulty even getting in the place.

The pub was busy, we ordered using the app and were served drinks quickly, food took a little longer , the food arrived hot and was good even pleased my 16 year old grandson, overall very pleased.

below average for a wetherspoons , been in better . had the same food i would normally have ! portion size was good but i would rather have quality but quantity .this was off the new menu choice , over done with the spicy sauce covered in it . ruined it , rice was hidden away , had the same dish in bournemouth 4 weeks ago in the busy spoons there , noticed the presentation skills were different . we were in a short break to torquay . in a tatty area where most of the shops around it looked shut permanently . i know it’s cheap food but

Pre shopping breakfast and was disappointed. My daughter had eggs Benedict and this was ok. I had a traditional breakfast. It was cold. The service was ok. It was very quiet but no excuses.

Was a busy Saturday afternoon, but food and drink arrived fast

Extremely busy, food reasonably priced although slightly cold. Clearing the tables were the issue several times asking for other people's glasses to be removed from our table. Didn't appear to be enough staff. Bits of the ceiling fell off while we were eating.

Good food, nice ale, rammed. Toilets weren't as clean as they might have been.

Christmas service but ales were great

Good value food and free refill hot drinks and a pleasant enough environment. A not infrequent visitor.

Had two meals here in November. Both were well cooked and hot. Service very quick. The other 3 members of our group had good meals too. We were on holiday.

Scramin kids and drunk. Mom's, and tables not cleaned, go to the harbour instead it's cleaner

Wetherspoons Pub. Its changed. In a Poor state of repair. Even the tables don't have number on them. Food was a little cremated ..... and so was the replacement. Still has good beer.

It was a winter's Monday night, so this is probably why it was dead. Korean chicken meal with coconut rice was great though.

Got there and it was closed for building work. Travelled there especially for a breakfast. Wether spoons, you need toet people know on your website if places are closed.

Surprisingly very busy given I visited mid week lunchtime in November.

The quality of the food is very very poor.tastless, bland whatever words you chose to use. The products before cooking are definitely substandard or the cooks are useless . had better at the soup kitchen. Will not be visiting again

Awesome chicken wings, even better then the previous suppliers. Manager Richards customer service was great, nothing was to much trouble when I popped in. Excellent hot chilli garlic sauce too, annoying the bottles are always sticky but it's worth it for the taste

It's a Wetherspoon. Does what it says on the tin. Tasty simple food served politely and efficiently. Ideally located for a break when doing the shopping. Recomnended. 👍

Sadly the kitchen was having work done so no food available. Otherwise a good spoons on the whole.

Great place to have breakfast. Good prices, the only thing I can fault is that we had to clear our own table before sitting down. There were a lot of tables that needed clearing.
