Called in for lunch but only stayed for a pint! Dirty and needs an update. The lady behind the bar clearly wasn’t well, she was coughing and sniffing. Wouldn’t go back.

Food was nice and the man & his daughter behind the bar was so lovely however a very miserable angry blonde lady was so so rude to us. We was a party of 14 and we are not small spenders either! We sat down for lunch, there was no welcome or hello at the table. Was abruptly told 45 minute wait for food even though it was no where near packed, it was almost as if she didn’t want our order as it was too much effort for her. Once lunch was done we wanted to order ice cream for the kids but again was told a 45 minute wait for ice cream. Once the kids was done eating I placed all food onto one plate and piled neatly for the staff to take away, we also took the kids drinks with us when we left. However was told after we left the the miserable angry blonde lady come over to the few adults left who was paying the bill stopping her feet calling us disgusting for “the mess” when as said already the plates and food had already been taken off the tables and drinks taken with us so I am very confused at, to quote her own word “disgusting” attitude. I can only assume there was some plastic casing left over from the £s and £s of toys we brought the children from the machines they provided. I can not express how miserable she was and unwelcome she alone made us feel. So to summarise if you would like a nice relaxing family lunch DO NOT go to the Ship Inn or as we like to call it the Sh*t Attitude Inn”. Any one would think in this current climate a pub would welcome a party of 14 with open arms!

We stayed here for 1 night. The accommodation was very poor. Cold, dirty, stains on the bed headboard, and carpet The mattress was old and uncomfortable. White bed linen grey and old. The bathroom was cold the fan was covered in dust and grime. The sink had cracks which had black dirt in them. The heated towel rail was covered in rust. It was so bad we had no sleep, so we left early, we didn’t want to risk the breakfast. We paid £130 for this room! I have complained to St Austell Brewery but they have not responded to my complaints. This room should be decommissioned!!

have had better food here before which was served quicker and hotter. went on a Sunday evening was advised there would be a delay as lots of people had placed orders - took nearly an hour - steak had been ordered medium rare - one was, the other was over cooked- chips weren't hot - but by this point so hungry just ate meal - the pudding saved the day - if you are going on a Sunday - order about 645 when initial rush on orders has gone.

Disappointed. From the outside looks lovely, disabled access was okay, just a couple small steps. But when i was ordering food the staff member made me and my son in law very uncomfortable. As habit from having kids( and a bad memory)i write what we want down and usually just hand it over to wait staff. Never had a negative experience with this, usually they are really happy as saves them a job! However, the staff member thought it funny to joke about dyslexia and illiteracy ( the person i was with has limited abilities in this area) ,i took him seriously, apologised and said i would do the order verbally. He then said he was joking and started to critize my writing ( i write very clearly when doing these orders on purpose) Anyway, the person with me was embarrassed and stressed and so was I. To be honest, if it was just myself and my husband i would have declined to continue and go somewhere else. When the food came it was very ordinary, homemade, lumpy mash etc. Tasted okay, but not great. Nice pub to pop in for quick drink and the quirky surroundings but i personally won't be back ( yes, i am cornish and relatively local)

Ship Inn Looe Disappointing and quite expensive 882479273 Went for lunch on a coolish day to deliberately check on the value for money. Being food critics, had a look in and it was quite busy which is a good sign so found a table, selected, ordered, paid and waited. The service was OK - 10 - 15 mins so you would expect things to be cooked fresh and to order but not the case here. One of us had fish and chips - £12.95 which we was looking forward to - sadly very disappointed. The fish was a perfectly shaped triangle, was a frozen fillet, batter overcooked, frozen chips and the whole lot quite sickly - the fish had a definite watery taste as it had been cooked too quickly from frozen so clearly NOT fresh in a fishing port. Mmm. We also had a plate of nacho's with chilli and garlic bread. Again, this was stodgy and microwaved although the garlic bread was hot. It wasnt finished as one of the party only had a sponge pudding - overcooked and definitely piping hot as it has been microwaved. Drinks (being a St Austell brewery tied house) were very expensive so just had soft drinks (driving) which were also expensive - even for a soda water. Our bill was over £40. Advice if you go there is ask what is microwaved and choose something else that is fresh. The place itself is very dark, in need of a makeover which could have been done before the season kicks in but clearly hasn't.

The food was reasonable but children's pizza's were unavailable so an alternative was ordered and when we requested gravy for one of the children's meals we were taken aback when we were charged £1.75 for a small jug of gravy (which arrived when my granddaughter had almost finished her meal!) We have enjoyed many good meals in this pub but it is best visited at lunchtime. Evening service can be erratic which is why I have allocated a rating of 3. The menu states food is served until 9pm, however, 2 occasions my family have turned up just before 8 to order food, bought a round of drinks to accompany our meal and then had the meal menus taken off the table immediately we sat down, almost an hour before expected. Not ideal, and a slightly aggressive response from staff when the action was politely queried by my brother. Pity as the food is good.

Me and my partner were in Looe for a few nights to which we loved as it was our last night we thought we would visit the Ship Inn for food and a few quiet drinks to end our holiday. We went in ordered or food and drinks to no issue. However, as we were in the corner minding our own business and having a private chat we overheard staff and locals mocking our welsh accent and our welsh language. To wish we started to feel uncomfortable we rushed our drinks and barely eat our food which wasn’t of great standard anyway. This pub only has interest in the locals there and seem to forget it’s mainly tourists who bring in majority of their income. I would never visit this pub again and unless your from Cornwall or anywhere in England I would not recommend this pub as you’ll be mocked for absolutely no reason apart from the immaturity of the staff and their little groups. We’re only youngesters (20&23) so we knew they thought they were being intimidating and thought they got into our blood but truth is we weren’t stooping to their childish level and them ruining our holiday. Nothing but a racist, horrible, dingy pub. Would highly recommend staying away from this one.

Really needs a lick of paint and a good clean, but has great potential. The staff were okay, but looked a bit grubby. You go to the bar to order food and drinks and pay as you go. Food was at best average but good portion sizes. Baked potatoes appeared to be cooked a day before then nuked. With lots of other options in Looe, I would advise giving the Ship Inn a miss.

Popped in for a spot of lunch. Food was nicer than expected and good value. Lots of home made dishes. My other half loved the tomato soup. Worth a try, good product especially for the money.

Came in for some food as we saw it was dog friendly. A good pub but nothing special. It was very busy as it is also family friendly so there were a lot of kids. I had the gammon and it was a decent meal. Luckily we came on an evening when nothing was happening, they do karaoke and things

Did not eat here and would not consider doing so. The place was dirty tables full of glasses and plates. Landlord not bothered, watching sport on his phone. There is one year round hard working member of staff who does his best, but the whole place needs a refurb and a landlord that cares about cleanliness if they are to continue to serve food. Beers are from St Austell brewery and are good. Please just clean the place up and clear and clean tables.

Back again while in Looe, as always, a great meal, prompt and pleasant service, plentiful portion, steak and everything to perfection, cold Cider, price excellent given its high season. Would I go back? For sure, every time I am in Looe.

Me and my partner are staying local decided to dine here for the evening. Bad choice ordered drinks my drink was flat (wine n lemonade) my partner was clever n ordered bottled we ordered food with our drinks which was bad idea we ordered the fish n chips peas were rock hard still chips were not the best and the fish well where do I start it was tasteless, soggy, very oily and not a nice bit of fish at all. Won't be going there again. Flies every where, mould on the wall, carpets dated and very thin. Won't let it spoil the rest of our holiday.

most awful store ever, firstly, carpark full of abandon trollies. shelves full of empty boxes, if you remove the empty box you may find the item hidden behind, you need to climb the shelves to retrieve an item at the back of the top shelve, you will no doubt need to remove an empty box first, you need to get on your knees and remove an empty box to again retrieve the item you are looking for at the vey back of the shelve, chillers full of empty boxes, often empty boxed kicking around on the floor, never seen anything like it in my life, this store must loose thousand's in revenue due to shoppers not being able to see the item there are looking for. extremely poor management. I shopped at Aldi this week, saved about £30, shelves full, good quality food, friendly staff.

Although the limited amount of staff seem pleasant the actual establishment was what I can only describe as filthy !! The coffee machine and utensils used looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a week.l, used dirty blenders sat around on the side. Someone from upstairs definitely needs to do a spot check on this place. I most definitely won’t be returning.

A very busy and lively pub. The staff were helpful, the toilets were clean and well maintained. Nice cheap and cheerful pub just off the seafront and only a couple of minutes walk from the main town centre.
