One of the best pubs in Southwick. What people call a 'proper old fashioned pub'. Small and cosy with an olde world nautical theme. No gaming machines but beautiful coal fires, friendly customers and superb real ales, beers etc at extremely low prices, served by excellent bar staff and Landlord and Lady! 10 out of 10 all round. See you there, perhaps - guaranteed a warm welcome by us olde locals. 🍻😁🍻😁

The Ship is so convenient for the train station, and central Southwick, I call in each time I pass by. Today was a quick visit, and I was served as always with a welcome and friendliness that is rare these days. The choice of drinks is vast, and always in plentiful supply. Today I was utensil less to eat my corner shop dinner in the train home. I made the odd request to borrow a fork until next week. Forking crazy I know! Dinner eaten, fork washed. Thank you The Ship Inn!

This has a real fire and real beers and cider, but sadly, no longer serves food - just chocolate bars and the like. Still the only place I know which serves Addlestones Cloudy Cider, which I rate as the very best!

Very good local pub. Been using it for last ten years. Prices are very good. £3.65 a pint. Locals friendly and fun. Sometimes they hold charity events for very good causes. Christmas discos. New year's parties. Not a Huge place but homely. In the winter the fires are roaring and snug. In the summer there is a quaint beer garden with beautiful flowers done by one of the locals.

Visited here on a pub crawl and frankly had one drink and swiftly left. Small, dark and stale inside and the outdoor area in basically in the car park! Sorry... but needs a fresh make over and a good clean to brighten things up and make it more welcoming.

Was told by a member of staff that I could keep my bike in their secure storage for the evening. Upon closing (11pm) was told that I couldn't get it back as the key holder had gone out, and that I'd have to wait till 3am. After much pleading and asking if I could then stay in the pub till 3, she eventually, and begrudgingly, unlocked the cage so I could get it, all the while being abusive, slamming the gate in front of me while giving me 'silent treatment'. Have never received such rudeness before!

It has a really nice mid 20th century feel to it.(minus smokers of course!) as there are two cosy bar rooms to choose from. A very good ale selection plus lovely snacks I recommend the bacon baguette.

The Ship is a real shock to the system for anyone used to the sanitized corporate pubs we've become accustomed to and long may it stay that way !!!! A proper homely pub with Wilton on the floor, brass ornaments adorning the walls, collection of pint pots hanging from the ceilings -exactly as it was 40 years ago. Along with a great "collection" of regulars you'll find friendly staff, good range of bar food between 10 am - 2 pm,several local and national real ales on the pump and last but not least- the best burgers you'll ever eat cooked on the barbecue every Friday after 4pm,and definitely the best value. Great pub, great atmosphere and great burgers what else would you need !

I have used this place for many years. It is a traditional pub filled with naval bric-a-brac, and often crammed. It can be noisy then. The staff are shall we say, old school, the place is crammed with character, just on the edge of a village shopping centre, and not far from either the station of the cricket green. Its limited wine list meets most pub food requirements, whilst it specialises in better local draft bitters and premium ciders. I am an Addlestones addict, (cloudy, with bits, slightly sparking, and REAL apple flavour) and also like some of the others.Food is served in generous proportions and represents excellent value. There is a fixed menu and a daily specials board led by what the local farmers and fishermen have provided, and this often yields gems. For those who want to sample what a small family run pub has been for the last xx years, this is the place to visit!
