The Biryani’s were hotter than we expected, based on numerous ones we’ve previously had from other restaurants.

These guys have the tastiest Indian food in Berkshire the set menu is out of this world!!

was massively late also missing the butter chicken and the sagg also was ordered as a main but only a side delivered the onion baji was about half the normal size. really disappointing

order was delivered incomplete. called the restaurant & they said they would send out the missing rice within 15mins. I called again 30mins later & was told it was on its way. nearly a hour later it turned up cold as was the dish I was waiting to eat due to the missing rice. the cost of the meal was pretty expensive considering it had a 40% discount when the order was placed. Will not be buying from here again

Used to be our favourite Indian, after a bad experience we hadn’t ordered for a long time thought we would try it again, the biryani wasn’t very nice no flavour and chunks of bone in it. Won’t be ordering again

Food either tasted like water or tomato purée

I have to wait for 17 minutes at least for my order to be ready.

Both dishes ordered was really bland, time to try somewhere else which is a shame

This is the 2nd time we had poor flavours in Naga, Bhindi & Chicken tarka. There was no naga and authentic spices to these dishes where it used to be delicious and so authentic. We’ve been your long term DESI customers. Chicken tarka had no naga,onions & peppers. Maybe chef has changed but we requested in this order and previous for authentic flavour improvement. We’ve spent so much money to be yet again disappointed.

I ordered over two hours ago and have still not received my order. I spoken to them over an hour after ordering they said 10-15 mins still not arrived so rung back again an hour later to be told another 10-15 mins. Even offered to pick my food up they said no as they haven’t finished cooking yet

portion sizes were small, delivery was over two hours late due to the restaurant being busy. Items missing from the order and the delivery driver didn't even ask for the code. we took a chance with the offer to stray from our regular but we will be going back to them from now on. Not worth the wasted wait.

Absolutely delicious. 11/10 lower in salt so can taste the food . Most places contain too much salt . So this was a nice change from that

Food was extremely good and totally enjoyed it

We were charged delivery fee which applies to properties over 5 miles away, we are 2 miles from Shapla

Been here many a times and they are better than other Inidn takeaways. Reasonably priced too. Their house special briyani is my favourite

The food is always delicious from Shapla but this time we did not have a good experience with delivery - we had an incomplete order with several items missing from our large family order which really disrupted our family celebration and the second delivery to bring the missing items was also incomplete and the food was squashed.

Excellent food, tasty, lots of choice and delivered on time

Our food took just under 2 hours to arrive from when ordered. We phoned the restaurant as the app said delivered but it hadn’t and it had gone past the estimated delivery time by 20 mins. We were told our delivery was just on its way out to us.

Sadly tonight's food was over spiced it was inedible such a shame as always had great food from shapla and never go anywhere else. Maybe different chef tonight

Wow! Best Indian food we have had in a very long time! fresh and tasty. Only criticism would be the naan bread was a little small but packed great flavour!

I have never had a bad dish from this place. The best Indian out there! Yet to find one that beats Shapla!!

Have known them for 3 years now. And they have not once disappointed. Always giving us extra bread/salad/poppadoms or a drink. The curries are spot on. You can taste the difference in the fact they're homemade. Also, being Halal, that tops it off 👏

Excellent delivery service to my hotel. Friendly delivery driver. Food was piping hot and bagged up great. No greasy spillages. Plastic containers. The food was excellent. Clean. Non greasy. Tasty and great portions. A tad on the spicy side for me but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the food. My veggie dhansak was full of veg and had the perfect sweet and sour flavour! The special rice was perfect. Came with salad, mint yogurt and onion salad. Well done, Team Shapla!

Ordered food online but what i received was worst. First of all no salt in food just flat dal tadka and saag paneer. By the way do you call that saag paneer i can cook better than that. And please improve your cooking standards so taht people can order again if possible. If don't have salt in your restaurant let me know i can send across.

Spot on everytime, best indian you will find in Reading. The Pathia is very nice along with the Keema Naan.

Order arrived missing a korma, this meant 2 orders of bhaji (6 total) and chicken tandoori went cold waiting 40 mins for korma to be re delivered at which point the rest is freezing and u able to warm chicken! Really really disappointing after being a loyal customer for 14 years +

Started using shapla again after a long time. We had not so nice chicken on one occasion so did not go back. Then 1 night they delivered to my neighbor and I got chatting with delivery driver. I rang that night to order and it was great but last time and this time , 10 mins ago, we got Onions in our egg fried rice which we asked not to have. Then they argued a bit on phone and stated no Onion is in rice, but it was. Anyway Eventually they offered to change but meal now cold and not as enjoyable.😡😡 Not totally happy. But that being said, THE CHICKEN WAS ESCEPTIONAL and food up u to usual level. The people who work there are really lovely and very professional. Just remember no onions pls as I have an allergic reaction and can make me real sick!! Mr Tim. Tot rd

Pedido para la recogida como es normal, pero nos habíamos dado por vencido en esta toma anteriormente debido al mal servicio. Llegó a casa y le dieron un pollo Tikka biriayni en lugar de uno vegetal. Llamé a la comida para llevar y nos dijeron que dijimos pollo en lugar de verduras, pero les dije que mi hija es vegetariana. Dijeron que cumplirían. 25 minutos después recibí una llamada para decir que no tenían un repartidor y tuve que volver a recogerlo. Es gracioso como yo saqué a su repartidor también lo hizo. No recibí una disculpa ni £ 1 de vuelta, ya que la verdura es más barata. No me molestaría en volver de nuevo.

I ordered a vegan vegetable Dansak and they really went out of their way to make sure it was a special meal and it was lovely but lacked flavour slightly. Very friendly and helpful and would love to try food from here again.

Madras was lovely, my friend said the garlic chilli masala was excellent.

This by far the best Indian takeaway in reading. I have been using for 10 years now and I have never had bad meal. Simple amazing freindly staff and 5 star food always delicious.

Naan bread size has been reduced.

Ordered 4 vegetable side dishes and naan bread. Each dish had a distinct flavour and all of them were lovely (although the brinjal bhaji was a touch oily). The tarka Dal was especially good with a wonderful smokey taste. The naan were soft and fluffy and the complementary poppadoms were crisp, fresh and tasty.

Lovely food and better than our local we normally use. Unfortunately it was closed so we opted to try the shapla and now we will just use the shapla from now on. Happy customers for sure. Cheers

haven't had a meal from here in a while. so thought I would treat myself. my salad was all warm and sweaty. the onion barjgis just fell apart. the mint sauce was warm too. as for the chicken tikka masala it was tasteless was like chicken added to a tomato sauce there was no flavour. I won't be buying from there again
