Seven Stars in Guildford

The steak menu looked expensive at £65 for two, but included a very nice bottle of wine, and the steak, sauce and choice of two veg sides were excellent.

Lovely food and great service, went on a Monday and wasn't that busy but likely because with previous owners they never opened Monday. Reasonably priced and you get alot for your money. Ribs are to die for as was the stuffed Yorkshire on the specials starters.

Amazing Sunday roast, great value , my only criticism is I would prefer the meat sliced thinner (personal preference I realise) and they were huge chunks which were hard to cut with the knife’s. The meat was very tender, so maybe sharper knife’s 🤣… thoroughly recommend

Absolutely fantastic pub/restaurant, the food is excellent, service is non-intrusive with friendly staff, spacious restaurant with tables set at a good distance apart, great ambiance and they allow dogs in the restaurant which is a massive bonus. Well worth the visit.

There is always the warmest of welcomes and you feel like VIPs from the start to finish. We had booked for lunch and the restaurant was full, including a large family party. We did not need to worry about delays to our food and our starters arrived in good time. The goats cheese salad was excellent and the cheese at just the right temperature. Followed by a butternut squash risotto which was deep and creamy and bursting with flavour. Everything was first class.

A very good meal in a busy pub. On the night I visited it was busy and the ambience was loud. But given how busy it was it was understandable and acceptable. The food was excellent and service attentive. I am more than happy to recommend the Seven Stars without reservation.

Arrived and found it very hard to get to the bar as people sat around the bar which made of difficult. I found the roast dinner very expensive, not very good quality - beef a little chewy, only two slices, 3 average potatoes and a Yorkshire - vegetables separate. We treated our friends and spent alot of money so a costly roast - average taste.

Returned to the Seven Stars and was enjoyable but felt the food was not of the same quality as previously liked and admired. Service was friendly and efficient but did not make up for the reduction in the standard of the food.

Lunch was excellent. Service, as usual, excellent! What's not to like....

Lunch was fabulous! It is not easy to get everything right but Stef the landlady runs a very tight ship and I can safely say it was one of the best Sunday lunches I have had (eating out) in a very long time. Thank you and keep up the excellent standards - will be back!!!

What a gem of a gastro pub, found this local pub when staying nearby at a posh NT property, and can honestly say the food here was better in every manner, starting with the warm welcome, to recommending items on the menu and taking our order promptly, the food was delicious and plenty full, and the bill was less than half of what we paid at our hotel, the atmosphere was very pleasant with low level chatting at the bar. A fabulous evening, would most certainly go again when in the area.

I have visited this wonderful pub twice over the last week - I went for dinner with a friend last week & we saw the info about the pub quiz so we came back & took part with our families. The food is amazing - delicious, well presented & lots of choice. The staff are brilliant - so welcoming, attentive & friendly. The quiz was a lot of fun & a really good evening out for people of any age.

We stopped off at the Seven Stars for a light bite en route from RHS Wisley, and glad we did. The staff were welcoming and courteous, the toasties were tasty and the prices sensible. We will return.

It was a Thursday evening after a short group walk around Papercourt Lake. The pub staff were very accommodating as we had reserved a table and space for us inside. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was presented well and tasted very good. My husband had the Artisan Fish Pie with vegetables. Both l were cooked to perfection. I had the scampi which was delicious too. Thank you to Ollie and the staff.

The staff in the restaurant were very friendly, polite and obliging. Our initial table in the conservatory, for our age group averaging 72 years of age, was an impossible position for making any conversation viable due to the high level noise. To move though, presented the staff with no problem whatsoever and we managed to relocate to the far end on the bar area. There was one table available. The food choices were varied, including specials. The food was good quality. The prices were fair perhaps however, in some cases, like the vegetarian curry there were few vegetables and the flavour could have been better. A personal comment. A lively happy atmosphere but acoustics proved too much for our group of four in the restaurant area.

My partner had the prawns and crayfish. It looked particularly unapetising - a pink mess basically. It may have tasted fine I was too embarrassed to ask. I had the chicken skewers. The chicken was dry with bits of lemon grass embedded in it that were indestructible. the satay sauce had a nice kick to it but looked very unapetising. The chips were great!

I have visited this restaurant a number of times and is always a joy to return . The food is of a high standard and the choice is really great for both for all tastes. The wine and beer selection is excellent as well. but it is the service that is outstanding and makes the whole meal such an enjoyable event. We will be returning soon.

It's aptly named Seven Stars. I've give it seven stars out of five. The food was delicious, the staff extremely welcoming and friendly and the place itself is lovely. We were really impressed.

For the first time ever we chose a very poor main course. We had the venison stroganoff and it was undercooked, tough and of inferior quality meat.

We have visited the Seven Stars several times and have always come away delighted with our experience. The quality of the food is consistently good and interesting choices while wine and beer selection is excellent . However it is the friendly and efficient staff who really make the meal a really enjoyable and encourages to be back soon

A brilliant Sunday roast with plate full of lots of tenderly cooked vegetables to compliment the tasty and perfectly cooked beef. Puddings were amazing too! I couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day!

Very nice food and staff. This was our local pub for 17 years so it was nostalgic to go there without the old owners propping up the bar but it hasn’t changed too much. Portions are massive - shame the light bites menu stops at 230 on a Saturday as this would have been perfect for some of us but we went at 4pm so that our dogs wouldn’t be too much of a disturbance. Everything was delicious. Service was good. Prices normal for Surrey.

Four of us were at The Seven Stars to celebrate a birthday and we were not disappointed. The friendly service was given with a smile, and the food was exceptional. Steph and her staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend to friends.

When booking a table we assumed that we would be sitting in the main restaurant as we had stated it was a birthday celebration. However on arrival we were placed at the far end of the main bar area in the corner on L shaped pew seating which was not ideal especially with a round table. Plus we were right in front of the rear back door access to the pub which was in constant use and also let in a blast of cold air everytime it was used. This was not ideal and somewhat disappointing. We cut our visit short by not having desserts.

Really lovely food, great service and nicely refurbished pub. However it was very cold in the pub!! Might be worth putting radiators or fire on when it’s not that warm outside!!

Sadly. The restaurant was hugely overcrowded with overwhelmed staff. 40 mins wait to get a drink. Then I went up to ask for the menus as no one came to the table. Food was cold and mediocre. So we gave up. Paid and left. Either have more staff or accept less bookings. Ruined a special occasion sadly.

4 of us booked for Sunday lunch. 2 friends said their beef was a bit tough. My chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly. The gravy was wonderful. Very generous portions but we did make room for pudding. The crème brûlée was delicious and our friends said the same of the brownies.

The food, service etc were absolutely top-notch, but it is a very noisy space for a meal - we asked to move from the main restaurant -and the staff quickly found us a new table which was a bit better, but still noisy.
