Cosy Club Guildford in Guildford

We rented a private room a few months ago. The food was great and the selection of alcohol was great too! The only fault is the price for me, but it's not a deal breaker at all.

Came into the cosy club this evening expecting a lovely birthday meal but was heavily disappointed! First issue was drinks took half an hour and didn’t even order any cocktails understandable if was busy but was only 4 tables with less than 10 people in total in the restaurant. Second issue, when the meals were brought out one was not what we had ordered so got taken back. No mention of a wait time. No waitress was around or communicating with us about where the food was but continued waiting and serving the other 2 tables. After 20 minutes 4 parties food had been finished with no check back or interaction and the food that was made incorrectly had still not been served. After trying to find a waitress to cancel food we found a bartender to say the wait time was far too long and we no longer wanted the burger. The bartender then went to let the kitchen know and were told we had to pay for the food as had already been made despite the fact that it never reached our table and everyone else had finished so we asked for a manager. The young lady came over with no apology and once we explained the situation she persisted that as the food was made fresh we would have to pay for the entire meal essentially arguing with us making us feel as it was our fault that the food was not what we had ordered. We were not asking for a discount we just did not want to pay for the food that we had not eaten. The manager insisted that the restaurant was busy and they were doing other things which is why there was no one around and didn’t check back on us but was very quite and saw her check back on other tables but just ignored us. We were left without receiving one apology, it was a very disappointing experience and won’t be returning.

Went for brunch on a Saturday, (2wks ago) with my hubby and daughter and all enjoyed our meals..🍔 🥗 🥑 🍖 'healthy' option. All delicious and the service (Lewis!) was absolutely amazing!!! Will definitely be going back too.

Ordered fish and chips meal, have never had such a terrible meal. Wether spoons produce a better meal. The fish was tiny and appeared to be like a fish cake or something you would expect from a budget supermarket. It was presented well but the actual fish tasted and looked processed. Would not consider this meal again the future. Staff are lovely and prices fair.

Popped in Friday for some cocktails and was not disappointed. Great, extensive selection most of which are vegan and 2 for 1 till 9pm and you can mix and match. Gorgeous decor and super friendly staff

The vegan Breakfast roll was incredible and it’s so nice to go somewhere that has good vegan food as well as other verities of food.

The food was terrible. We ordered 5 dishes, including a vegan burger and 2 smash burgers, but the meat patties were so dry and brunt like cardboard. Also a ragu pasta that was undercooked, cold, and cod & chips, both of the dishes were very small. On the good note, our waitress Scarlet was very lovely

Was looking forward to trying the food, 5 of us and all the meals were terrible. The worst was my wife’s veggie smash burger which was burnt to a crisp and couldn’t be eaten. My meat smash burger was also burnt along with my son’s cod which was warm to say the best. Overall terrible food, the only day of sunshine during our visit was Scarlett who was amazing, Scarlett reduced the bill which made it a bit better. Well done Scarlett. Also one veggie option, need more options

Came in for a SMASHING dinner, food carried the most beautiful flavours and the service was 10/10, served by Eloise who was very attentive and quick! Will definitely be coming back !

The worst tasting cocktail I've ever tried but food is ok.

Food is ok but cocktails do not order cocktails called Matcha margarita and elderflower &Mint TRIP test bad

Drinking cocktails and eating decent food is always a pleasurable way to spend an afternoon. A great range of cocktails, other drinks and food available. All of which were extremely good value and delicious. Their cucumber cleanse is amazing.

The food is fine, it was a bit bland but at least it's different to the usual stuff in this price range. Inside the atmosphere is again different to what you usually get but it is just like if a Slug and Lettuce or a Wetherspoons had a different aesthetic. The Miso Caramel Custard Tart is probably the best dessert I've eaten though, worth a visit for that alone.

Visited on a Saturday night and the food was great. What really made the evening special though was the service from Lewis. Friendly, helpful and prompt without feeling rushed. Truly exceptional, thank you.

We booked for a table for Valentine’s Day. We did arrive a bit late due to traffic, by about 10-12 mins, on arrival, first thing we were told is that our table was just given away, without calling us to confirm if we are coming or not. We then were taken to a table in an area in the restaurant that is the least pleasant atmosphere while there are lots of empty tables around the restaurant, in areas that’s more cosy and romantic. The food menu was average, not much difference than a pub menu. We should have just left the place to start with

Service from Phoebe Mae was lovely - never feeling rushed on a busy Saturday night. Both chicken dishes myself and my partner had were fantastic!

Quiet Sunday night but food is over priced really

Dined at The Cozy Club, Guildford. Impressive grand decor but the food was average. The portion of rice that came with the fish curry was just incredible. Choosing from the menu was difficult as the choices were either too heavy or too light. Curries were Massaman which is not my cup of tea.

We had a lovely lunch here. Good menu including lots of vegan and gluten free options. We were served by Scarlett who was very friendly and attentive. She was also very patient and interactive with my one year old!

We regularly visit The Cosy Club and always have an enjoyable evening. The staff are lovely and the venue really is cozy (given the size, it's impressive they manage to deliver that feel!) Love it!

Poor experience today. There was a long wait for our 3 main courses. Mine arrived cold so went back. They did warn it may take 10-15 min to recook. After 20/25 minutes we gave up as the others had finished and we departed with me having no lunch. The waiting staff were apologetic and deducted the cost of two hot drinks we had been served. A shame as previous visit was ok which is why we returned. There seemed to be enough waiting staff so I can only guess a kitchen problem but would make me reluctant to return.

Never again will I go to this ‘restaurant’ We had booked for after church on 24/12/24 well in advance. When we arrived we were asked quite aggressively at the desk if we had made a booking. Yes, we replied, with that the person disappeared never to be seen again. So we waited. Another person turned up at the desk and asked if we were being seen to? I’ve no idea I replied, we did tell a member of staff. He found our table for us and we waited 20 mins until a waitress asked for our drink order. Then another waitress for the food order, which we immediately gave her. We waited 50 minutes for the food order to arrive and considering we had a two year old with us it’s not acceptable, particularly as 3 of us (there were 6 in total) only wanted a starter as a main. One order was for fillet steak £32 and no word of a lie it was the size a a birds eye beef burger. But we were all so hungry by this time we ate it and left immediately. I will find out who owns this restaurant because there appears to be no staff training whatsoever in hospitality. As a business owner myself I would want to know. None of the staff seemed happy at all, they weren’t rude but just not friendly and it was a real embarrassment to take my family there. I had to keep apologising to them. We’ve been there quite a few times before - just 2 of us and we’re always impressed with the food. But we weren’t impressed with anything at all this time and can categorically say we will never return. If you want a great restaurant with great food and friendly staff then go to Carmona, we went there the week before - again for a family dinner to celebrate our sons masters graduation. Food was fabulous and the staff could not have done enough. Learn Cosy Club from Carmona how a restaurant should function.

A nice place to be! Food is quite nice, with decent portions for all. Items are made to a high quality, but more of a variety in the menu, offering more unusual items (ie: more international) would be good. Service is adequate on the whole. Staff are relatively friendly, but responding to a question regarding the status of the food with, "It's probably ready I think. But I don't know," is a bit dodgy. Food did take quite a long time to arrive, even when there were not many. Atmosphere is nice to be around, and nice decoration throughout.

Absolutely fabulous New Years Eve ‘party’ with 2025 welcomed in wonderful style. Just could not be better….with a special mention to the chef as the food was perfect in every way.

Love the decor, we had good time, there was a deal on cocktails which our server didn't tell us about. The food was tasty but seemed a little pricey for what it was. Overall we did enjoy our evening

We absolutely love going to cosy club, the food and service is always great and we're never disappointed. We had a server called Lewis who was great, even though they were incredibly busy he did everything to make us feel welcome and accommodated. Definitely recommend this place

We went for breakfast and it was good value for money. Natalie served us. She was friendly and professional. Excellent food. We gave 4* because of a tiny detail, the scrambled eggs were not beaten very well, so a bit patchy looking. Apart from that the food and service were very good.

Appalling service. Considering there is only one starter for the Christmas menu (Sharing plater) it was over an hour from all our party sitting down before it arrived. Mains were small and the drinks overpriced for the volume you got. The restaurant itself was soo noisy we could barely hear the person next to you

One chicken goujon in a bap is apparently a £19 coronation chicken burger. Others had similar experiences. Bit cold too. Should be doing better if you want to stay competitive.

Our waitress Scarlett was absolutely amazing, so attentive, friendly, efficient and professional. Food was really tasty and served promptly. Once again Scarlett made our night, well done 👍

Visited on a Friday, late afternoon, nice vibe and well decorated for Christmas. Managed to get through 3 bottles of Prosecco. I would have preferred table service if I'm honest but no queues at the bar so not too bad. Bar staff could do with being more friendly. We recommend this place for pre-dinner drinks in central Guildford.

Brilliant atmosphere and staff as always was very prompt service and they catered to all our needs and allergies. Would happily recommend to anyone. Buzzing atmosphere if you want that and if you don't want they have quieter sections.

This place used to be my favourite brunch place in town, and I've seen it change from the first week it opened. The main problem is that the food here has become increasingly worse while the prices have stayed the same or increased. I mostly come for brunch so I can't speak to the other menus, but it's just massively decreased in quality and amount as well. The Garden Brunch for example looks like a joke now and it's 13 quid! One measly veggie sausage, 2 cheap hash browns (these used to be high quality rostis), one egg, bit of basic beans (used to be fancy spicy beans for the same price), a tiny undercooked mushroom and a spoonful of avocado. The avocado is advertised as "mint pea avocado", but basically it's clear that there's barely any avocado, just cheap peas. I can't really recommend this place in its current state. The one star it gets is because the bar area is cozy and usually empty and good for sitting with a laptop.

Love this place. Had brunch here last Saturday with the family, and we all thought the food and service were excellent.

It’s a beautiful restaurant to eat in, looks very excellently decorated and well maintained, the food is reasonably priced, my reason for the low rating is the service, no one at the door where it states wait, ended up going and finding staff after 10 minutes, finally find someone, took order and waited some time for the drinks to arrive, most places bring the drinks to your table within 5 minutes, not virtually at the same time as the food. It’s a shame this place could be amazing.

What a lovely place to enjoy great food. The setting is welcoming, the menu imaginative, the food outstanding and the service exceptional.

I cannot get over how expensive this place is, how small the portion sizes are, and just how mediocre the food is. It's "OK" food. It's literally food you can get in any half decent place, except it's 30% more expensive across the board, and the portions are TINY. The reason why I give service three stars is because I was starving, and asked if the chips were a decent portion size, with the waitress saying they were fine for "a good portion for one person, you'll be full at the end". She was correct, assuming the person eating the food happens to be a sparrow or a small child under three. My small cup of chips contained 17 French fries. Yes, 17. Just under half a potato. Imagine one of those cups you get with an office water dispenser. Fill it 2/3 with chips. That's your serving size. The burger was also pretty mediocre and small. The waitress led me to believe I was in for a feast, but I finished my food in about three minutes and was still starving. Definitely wouldn't return, although the atmosphere is pretty decent.

This venue is very hit and miss imo. Latest visit was for a business meeting and 2 for 1 cocktails were welcome, but there was no atmosphere and drinks had to be ordered and collected from the bar.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times but yesterday was the last visit we will make. As always, the food was excellent but the service was simply non existent to the point where the waitress in the "unacceptably" short skirt which showed off way more than we wished to see, simply ignored our attempts to get her attention and the restaurants was not full by any means. I had the Shakshuka, which was excellent as always - however it was served with one thin small piece of sourdough, so I asked for an addition slice and was irritated and annoyed that they charged me £2 for a slice of toast - really ???? I am sure that there are may good restaurants in Guildford that simply aren't as petty !!!

Lovely little place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Good food and good service

This place seems fine to go to for a beer, wine or food with friends, but save your money if you want a cocktail with any degree of sophistication- their menu items are expensive considering their quality and the staff are not trained to deal with any adjustment to the recipes to account for different tastes.

Definitely the name says it all. The place is very cosy and ambient. Professional service. The food is not bad at all but not any special. Lovey place to be at, nice vibes.

We went for pre-dinner drinks in the bar area. It's a weird space with low seating, small dining tables and high table with stools. We ended up having 2 of us sinking into low armchairs and the other 2 on little pouffy stools. So no-one was really comfortable. No table service for drinks which is fine I guess but you end up waiting for ages at the bar because all the staff are serving drinks to the restaurant tables. So we had to stand waiting at the bar for 15 minutes to get an overpriced cocktail. I won't be going back.

Great venue for a brunch. However the classic breakfast was disappointing with everything other than the beans luke warm at best however those that had the dirty breakfast butty really enjoyed it. Great Glutten free and dairy free menu. Would come again but avoid the classic breakfast.

Nice place, but shockingly slow service. Took 50mins to get drinks and over an hour to get food on a Saturday at 7:30pm. Chips undercooked and burnt burger. Disappointed, especially as not cheap at all.

Nice environment and friendly service. Enjoyed the Dirty Breakfast Bap however the smoothies are abysmal - zero value for money.

Ordered the Shakshuka and was very disappointed. Watery and bland, served with 1 small piece of bread. For a dish that is supposed to be rich and spiced it was extremely flavourless, price point did not match the meagre portion. Added and paid for feta (£2.25), of which about a teaspoon was sprinkled overtop. The most disappointing part was the watery base. This was more like tomato juice poached eggs, do not recommend.

The cosy club which can take a thousand guests 😂. As big as the venue is, the way it is decorated really makes it cosy. You can come here in ones and twos or tens and twenties. We had breakfast and it was super tasty and had a lovely variety to choose from... Not just the run of the mill items. Staff were attentive and friendly. Lovely vibe.

We had chorizo breakfast which was excellent it was quite so no waiting at all huge place so probably good for an evening beer i would imagine

The burger meat was overcooked, and the bun was stale, this really ruined the burger. Such a shame as the rest of the ingredients are very tasty. We were expecting more for the price we paid.

Had a beautiful breakfast at the Cosy club with my partner! The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant has an old style to it, you could almost say it’s ’Cosy’. Haha Definitely recommend and will be coming back to try the lunch menu!

Wonderful little spot. We had a private room on the top floor, which had two dedicated servers for our large group. Had am assortment of appetizers, various entrees, and lots of alcohol. I had the burger, which was hearty and delicious.

Tasty food and interesting cocktails. Definitely a cosy vibe. The matcha margarita didn’t quite work for us (massive marg fans) but would be nice for those very into their matcha. Highly recommend the frozen passionfruit margarita. The p0rnstar martini was a bit sweet for my taste.

Popped in for drinks after dinner with my boyfriend and the bar staff were incredible. Super friendly & helpful. I explained that I was looking for an interesting shot, that my former go-to was always a baby Guinness but having gone vegan I couldn’t have them anymore. The gent behind the bar said to give him some time and he’d have a think. A few moments later, another gent came over to our table having made us two vegan versions of baby Guinness shots! Honestly made my night. So thoughtful and really going above and beyond - especially considering we were only in for a drink. A big thank you to the guys at the bar for that as - especially being a vegan - you don't often see staff at bars or restaurants going the extra mile for this sort of thing! We will 100% be back in the future!

My husband and I visited for lunch on Sunday. We were seated straight away without a booking. The staff are really friendly and attentive. To eat, we got the Pulled Beef Croquettes, The Cosy Butcher's Brunch and Roasted Fillet of Salmon. Everything tasted amazing

Booked the Wonderland room for our wedding after-party. We were offered a good deal on this room, staff were very friendly and accommodating, nice choice of cocktails too. Many thanks for going out of your way to make this a special day for us!

Went for cocktails at Cosy Club just after 7pm on a Thursday evening and discovered that till 8 two cocktails are £12.95 (Sun-Fri 4-8). Cocktails are about 11 to 13 pounds each. It is any two not two the same which some places specify. We had four delicious cocktails. Barman friendly and efficient. Decor pretty good but old worldy look takes time to look established so currently bit too shiny. To be expected quiet early evening on a week day.

Highly recommend this breakfast spot. Food was phenomenal alongside a speedy friendly team. We were lucky to be served by Rupert who’s hospitality skills were out of this world and also reflected the rest of the team who also made our stay something to remember

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant. We chose it largely because it caters for people who need to eat gluten free. Our daughter has coeliac disease and it was so good to go here. They have a large gluten free menu and the manager came to take her order. He was great - really understanding and reassuring re: cross-contamination. It is so nice to find a restaurant that she feels safe eating in. And the food, drinks and relaxed vibe suited the rest of the gluten-eating members of the family. I wish more restaurants could be like Cosy Club! Thank you.

Amazing gluten free range. My mum has a bad gluten allergy and there was an amazing range of options for her, including dessert. Lovely staff too.

I am not going to spend too much time writing this review. The restaurant had no atmosphere. The food was very disappointing and it was very expensive for what we got. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Whilst the prep time is slightly longer then usual the food, waiting service and environment is very nice.

Great lunch with friends! Delicious food and great atmosphere albeit a little noisy, but understandable as it is first day of school holidays.

Firstly, staff are lovely. Nothing detrimental there. But. Sharing platters. Tiny. Those are GENUINELY just about enough for one. Tasted ok but overpriced and mis-sold. I had a chicken burger. Nice enough but WHY WHY WHY WHY do restaurants make 'slaw' with RAW ONIONS....... I can still taste them 4 hours later. ANY chef who knows his trade should be aware of the strength of raw onion. I don't mind paying for good food bit sadly I didn't feel I got value for money. Sorry guys.

First to start the service in the cosy club is next to none, very friendly and very quick service with pleasant drinks. For starters, or “sharing plater” as they put it were in no way “sharing”. I had the Pulled Pork Croquettes, the food was absolutely delicious but there were three tiny croquettes on the plate, and left myself expecting when the rest was going to arrive. For main, the Dirty Chicken Burger, I would personally dub it as the Mac and Cheese Bacon burger, as that was the majority of taste in your mouth, with the chicken rather being an after-thought once you’ve eaten it. I tried the chicken itself and it was very tasty but was over whelmed by the other flavours of the burger. The only other gripe being the chicken being a smidge bit tough on the outside. Once again, staff were amazing and very friendly.

Reserved quite late for a (admittedly well behaved) stag group and they were great. Good food, good drinks, good atmosphere.

Decent pub, seating is upstairs. Food was good and a must try salted caramel chocolate mousse for chocolate lovers. Portions are between small to average we ordered fried prawns and to our surprise only 3 prawns were served.

I was wandering randomly around Guildford when I stumbled into the Cosy Club. The atmosphere from the bottom of the stairs and all the way up is magical and cosy! Wood paneling and cool photos make this a place well worth hanging out in. They had a great gluten free menu which made ordering easy. I got the bacon salad and every bite was super delicious. My only criticism is that it felt a little small for the price. But overall I had a really wonderful experience and would be back again.

We had a lovely meal here, the cocktails were on 2 for £12.95 and tasted great, the food was served quickly (although it was quiet when we were there), and the waitress pheobe was really nice. the only shame was that our table was very close to the next one, and we felt like we were sat next to them

Delicious food, nice venue, and excellent service - great experience all round. Needed to move my booking at late notice and the staff were very happy to accommodate. There’s a good choice of options on the brunch menu and I was impressed by how delicious mine was (shakshuka plus the 3 berry pancakes). Staff were attentive, super polite, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we all had a good experience. They asked when we entered whether there was an occasion and, after mentioning that we were there to round off a stag weekend, they very kindly brought a complimentary glass of Prosecco for the stag. All in all 10/10, couldn’t ask for more and would gladly return.
