Have had this place on my list to try for a while and it did not disappoint. Every dish was packed with flavour, tasty and unique. Three of us shared dishes and we were all unanimous that the Sichuan fried cauliflower was our favourite dish, care is taken to ensure the florets are covered in flavour, they were really tasty. Second favourite was the chicken katsu curry Arancini, in fact we liked them so much we ordered another lot before we left. The Korean fried mushrooms were also very tasty as well as the ribs. As I’m not a huge fish lover I can’t comment on the remaining dishes ordered, spicy tuna roll and Scottish scallops but my friends seemed to enjoy them. Would highly recommend visiting for different tasty food. Staff were very friendly and service was fast. We booked online which was quick and easy. Visited 6:30 Sunday ahead of a gig and there were a fair few tables seated, for peak times I’d recommend booking as it’s a small restaurant.

Delicious food! One of the best restaurants in Bristol! We’re sad they don’t serve the wagyu anymore but everything is always great!

Could have helped us out a lot more with the kids, cocktail was really mediocre, seating outside only needed a little bit of attention to prevent a draft in the middle of winter, didn't really feel looked after - unfortunately all of these things let down what may have been quite nice food/time.

Nice (if fussy) grub, but we sat in a cold draft all evening. "I know sir, sorry, but there's nothing we can do about it, it's a problem". So we ate in coats and hats, paid, and left.

Delicious food. Katsu arancini?? Only could be an invention from god herself. Friendly staff, good music, great cocktails - especially the strawberry & jasmin sake one.

Food was great - good Korean fried chicken with fresh and moreish kimchi fries and decent ribs. Visited in the summer - the venue, understandably, was not the best suited to the summertime heat! Not the best value for money and the menu could be expanded a little more, but a great spot for a drink and a light meal!

Nos trataron como un inconveniente, ya que no habíamos reservado y a pesar de que nos prometió la siguiente mesa por uno de los asistentes masculinos. Nos pasaron por alto 3 veces siendo dicho por las mujeres del personal. Estas personas habían reservado, pero estaba claro que no. El menú es en el mejor de los casos promedio y el ambiente muy aburrido. Tristemente no sería una experiencia que repetiría. No recomiendo.

Came for a quick small bite and the food didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious food and lovely, friendly hosts. We would definitely come back here for a bigger meal and try other dishes.

Me and my partner are Asian food lovers and we hit the jackpot finding this restaurant . Atmosphere and environment was spot on, the food was incredible. Highly recommend the sichaun cauliflower and Katsu Arancini. We are both meat eaters but found the veggie options our favourite. 5 stars for everything, we will be back!

This is the most amazing restaurant, the food is divine particularly the Korean friend chicken. We were served by the loveliest waitress called Amber who was so friendly and so attentive.

Después de haber visitado Siete Dioses de la Suerte en numerosas ocasiones antes, la comida una vez más estuvo a la altura de las expectativas. Los platos de pollo frito coreano, caballa y costillas eran fantásticos! Las porciones eran geniales (esperaba mucho menos, así que tal vez considerar esto al ordenar). El personal era amable, sin embargo, no nos controló durante nuestra comida, a pesar de que el restaurante no estaba ocupado. Came here first time & had the lunchtime Veggie Bento Bowl was amazing! All the flavours soak into the rice… so it’s like a gift that keeps on giving! So I decided to come back for my birthday a few weeks later with a group of friends. The evening food was super amazing too. ‘Best food in Bristol’ is what one of my friends said! Cauliflower was my fave dish. Update: come here many times. Always great food. Adding a few more pics of my latest visit.

Popped here for lunch. The staff was friendly, sat us down and said it's usually about 5 plates for 2 people. So we just ordered 6 plates between the two of us. The plates started coming fairly quickly. I enjoyed every single one of them, especially the Korean Fried Chicken was superbly good. The prices are generally what I expect from a tapas place, on average we spent about £10 per plate, but we were definitely both full at the end of it. Definitely will be popping here again!

I'm afraid I was quite disappointed and won't be going back any time soon. The service and atmosphere wasn't an issue at all, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However the food was distinctly average, very overpriced and tiny portions. We happened to choose all non-veggie dishes, at around £15 per plate (they recommended 5 plates between 2 people). Each plate literally has two or three bites on it! If I'm paying £5 per mouthful then I'd expect the food to be wonderful but it wasn't. Some of my friends raved about this place a few years ago, I'm not sure if it's just gone downhill since then as this was my first time visiting. If the dishes were cheaper, or the quality significantly better then it may have been alright, but personally I wouldn't rush to go here. Also £6.50 for a 330ml can of cider made drinks overpriced too. I was still hungry afterwards and got chips from a nearby fish and chip restaurant, says it all really!

Great little place, good vibe for sure. Staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful, and the food was incredible, I can't stop thinking about it! Every dish was delicious and incredibly well thought out and presented. It's not the cheapest restaurant I've been to but it felt like I was eating much more expensive food.

Food’s good but it’s expensive, the drinks are expensive, AND they add a service fee. £23 for a bowl of food and a drink. Not worth it.

Incredibly nice place with super food

I visited the Japanese restaurant Seven Lucky Gods and was quite satisfied with the taste of the dishes. The fried potatoes were especially delicious – simply amazing. However, there are a few drawbacks. First of all, the menu doesn't indicate the portion sizes, which makes ordering a bit difficult, especially when you're with a group. Additionally, the portion size of some dishes doesn't match the price. For example, for £7, we received a very small piece of fish, which was a bit surprising. It would be great if the restaurant could address these issues. Also, keep in mind that the service charge is included in the bill. Otherwise, everything else was great – nice atmosphere and tasty food.

Highly recommend korean fried chicken, best I've had yet. Portions are small so be prepared to spend on 2-3 orders per person. However kimchi fries are an exception and can be ordered to share. As for place it's in a container and to use the toilet had to run outdoors in the rain.

Sin embargo, hay algunos inconvenientes. En primer lugar, el menú no indica el tamaño de las porciones, lo que dificulta un poco el pedido, especialmente cuando estás con un grupo. Además, el tamaño de la porción de algunos platos no coincide con el precio. Por ejemplo, por 7 libras, recibimos un trozo de pescado muy pequeño, lo que fue un poco sorprendente. Sería genial si el restaurante pudiera abordar estos problemas. Además, tenga en cuenta que el cargo por servicio está incluido en la factura. Por lo demás, todo lo demás era genial - buen ambiente y comida sabrosa.

The Japanese/Koran small plates of food were really tasty and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were amazing too. They were so friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We were able to sit outside under cover which was lovely. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant, thank you.

Great atmosphere, you definitely need a res for popular times. If we are being critical, I’d say the rice used for the rolls is dry, but minor complaint.

Beautiful food and good portions. The tapas style is easy to work with and allows you to have your fix of whatever you desire. Waiting service was average, no outstanding negatives or positives. However it is an expensive dinner (£70+ for two of us) and more so with their outrageous 12.5% service charge! This should be scraped in my opinion. Overall, it is nice to do once but perhaps only on a special occasion. Pricey yet yummy, think about this one first. And don't forget your payment card as cashless.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Bristol in recent memory. Phenomenal food and really delicious cocktails. We tried the salmon sashimi, plus a bunch of different veggie small plates and everything was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Located in a container and quite busy makes the atmosphere a bit chaotic and noisy. The waitress suggested me to take 2-3 dishes. with an average price of 10-15£ + drinks it doesn't make it super affordable. Food is ok, but the quantity is not enough in my opinion. water is free tho, but you want a beer I suppose 😁 Service is not particularly fast. You'll seat on benches if on a big table. Small tables have access to power plug for your phone. I took 3 plates and a beer and spent: 39£ + service Friendly staff

Smallish menu because each thing on there is absolutely perfected, if I’m ever back in Bristol I’ll go straight back! If your wondering where to eat tonight look no further :)

Been previously to this place 3/4 times and has always been amazing and really tasty food. Went recently and the food didn’t seem to be as good and the service was awful, complete let down!

We went to Seven Lucky Gods on a Tuesday evening, and sat outside because the weather was nice. There was lovely covered seating available. The restaurant style is small plates, so we ordered 8 between the 4 of us. The quantity of each dish was small, but the quality was amazing. We ordered two servings of the arancini as there are just two on each plate, but everything else was good to share amongst 4. In fact, the curry fries were so incredible, we had to order a second serving. Great Southeast Asian fusion-style cuisine, I'll definitely be going back again.

Not my expectation. If you wanna Japanese food, I don’t recommend this restaurant.

We were recommended to go by a friend. No greeting when we arrived. When we asked we were told to find a table which we did. An incredibly rude waitress then came and asked us if we had a booking and then told us they had no tables. Very rude!! Would not return or recommend:-(

A bit disappointing. Ribs were lacking flavour (and meat) - too sweet, not umami enough. KFC and Sichuan cauliflower were both good but not showstopping. The uramaki were both bad. The crab had so little crab in it, it never had any hope of being tasted alongside the kimchi (an already questionable combination), and the mushroom uramaki was tasted by everyone on the table to unanimous agreement it was oversalted. The seaweed salad was a good rendition of the Japanese classic. The deep fried oyster mushrooms desperately needed more sauce and more seasoning and a lighter batter, they're a bit of a thick oily thing. I really like the ideas of the menu (minus crab with kimchi) but the execution was bad. To be prepared for when dining in this area of Bristol though; a good reminder to look away from the centre for good eats. Won't be returning.

Randomly booked this place after seeing multiple reviews and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Having a good look through the menu so many dishes that is up my street I was certainly excited, we were sat outside and under the canopy very street food vibe. Let’s talk about the dishes - I ordered multiple dishes and I’m break them down into my favourite to lest favourite. I’m not going to go too in depth as be here all week, but a quick overview on each dish and how I rated it. 1st - Korean baby back ribs - this was first dish to come out and wow! This was incredible ribs were tender, well seasoned beautiful depth of flavour. Not over sauced actually perfect! This dish alone 9/10 solid! 2nd - Korean fried oyster mushrooms - this dish came out near the end of our plates but wow, it hit the money again solid dish, really crispy batter amazing flavours running throughout with nice little touches 9/10 again! 3rd - chicken katsu curry arancini - was unsure what to expect but really wanted to try this and not be disappointed, really nice balance of flavours the Parmesan cheese with that katsu curry sauce really did work! Could have definitely ate more of those! 4th - Scottish scallops - this probably were I started to want a bit more from the dishes and felt a bit meh, also a solid dish scallops had little flavour dressed well but over powering wasabi just ran through the whole dish, pork belly underneath was crispy but soft and melted like butter, was a nice combo but again the wasabi mayo took over. 5th - spicy Korean fried chicken - look it says what you get it’s good it’s fiery it’s crispy it’s saucy! It’s decent sized thigh maybe a little dry overall inside but flavours deffo hit! 6th - Sichuan Fried Cauliflower - a bit underwhelming when comes to a cauliflower play on dish, no real flavour depth, good charing and portion size but pretty boring dish, when served in a bowl it going to sweat and kinda kill the crispy vibe. 7th / 8th dish are both the fries for me, unseasoned over cooked frozen fries dressed poorly. The curry fires lacked the sauces about 6 fries had touch of sauce on and rest just boring unseasoned fries, and same with kimchi fries again nothing special at all kimchi was ok but wasn’t exciting with that warm acidity and bright flavour. 9th - bbq mackerel filet - lack of any real flavour this dish wasn’t for me, overcooked very dry fish covered up by a heavy sauce. Some people may like this dish but for me it’s a no. The food was good overall I could see what these guys are trying to do, it’s worth a look it’s worth having a go. I would say the service was a bit hit and miss tho, and being sat outside I just never vibe with sitting on benches when eating meals but I know space is limited but we had 3 people on a bench for about 6/8. Overall score here is a 7/10 for me, loads of room for improvement and certainly not bad food by all means, the price point seemed a little steep for the quality on show this time. it is a busy market here with lots of competition and these guys seem to be super busy so they must be doing something right eh!

Pretty much like what everyone has said in their reviews. This place is an absolute cracker. For casual Japanese / Korean dining this is one of the best I have ever been to. 2 of us shared 6 plates and ranked 5 of them 10 / 10 and the other a 9 / 10. If you are after fancy rather than funky then don’t go; if you have an issue with going to loos that are not directly accessible from the restaurant then don’t go. But if you like really well considered Asian food at decent prices for the quality then you really need to get yourself here. It’s a belter

I bought a take-away from its ‘sushi to go’ shop. The sushi was prepared the day before. The rice in the sushi is very dry. Will never buy any take-away from this restaurant.

Great food and vibe, service a little slow on the terrace and had to ask twice to pay the bill.

Really nice place to go and eat but they charge £3.50 for a can of coke which I thought was a bit much considering it literally came from a can. They also add service charge at the end which caught me out and took me over my budget for the meal. Otherwise all good and lovely staff. I'll come back but will be aware of these things in the future.

Scallops was delicious as was the tuna. Some over seasoned dishes ie mackerel and Korean fried mushroom. But generally sushi was v v expensive for too small quantity. Lunch Bentos are better value.

We came to 7LG for my partner's birthday and were very impressed by how much intense flavour every dish had. We're huge fans of Korean fried chicken and we both agreed that this was probably the best we've ever had. Would highly recommend the peanut cauliflower as well! Our server was exceptionally lovely (didn't catch their name but long, dark hair with blonde underneath) and is an absolute asset to the restaurant :)

Staff were not nice and tried to refuse us entry. I think it may have been because we had a 2 year old with us but he was not crying or causing any problems. We had this place recommended by a friend and they did warn us the service can be off-putting.

I come here for the lunch bento very often. Food is decadent ❤️, prices reasonable, staff warm and friendly. They have a couple of tables outside, under a big canvas covering, which is really pleasant when the weather is warm and also when it's lightly raining. 😊

Wanted to catch up with a friend and he recommend I try this place with him, as he had tried it the previous week and had loved it. He was not wrong in his assessment. Staff were super attentive, friendly and informative. My friend was running late, so the waiter straightaway kindly extended our booking. The food was outstanding. We ordered 6 dishes (a number recommended by the waiter) and the flavour of every dish was sensational. As a veggie, I would also say that both the brocolli and the cauliflower dishes were far beyond typical veggie fare flavour-wise, with the cauliflower probably being the best cauliflower dish I have ever tasted (let's face it, it can often be pretty bland...but not here!). An overall exceptional meal, with the only drawback being how expensive it is (came to over £70 for two of us with four drinks in total, two of them soft) which was a lot, considering I could actually have eaten more. Eitherway, I'll probably be returning

I ordered the Korean chicken, baby back ribs, pineapple juice, curry fries & sake. The ribs tasted like perfection, chicken was delicious too. I sat in the outdoor section & loved the minimalist feel it had, it was also great to get some sun! The service was great too. I can't wait to show up when next I am in Bristol!

Menu concealed that 90%(!) of items were NOT available. If you skip past the easily seen "bentos available 12-5pm" then, in very small text you can see that all the OTHER items are not available! The tempura soft-shelled crab uramaki had interesting sounding ingredients, but it turned out to be impossible to distinguish them. Summary: as advertised, but disappointing.

We shared 5 dishes between the two of us for dinner, which was plenty. Food came out quickly. The Korean fried chicken and soft shell crab were standouts but everything was delicious. This was our second visit and both times have been excellent. Super friendly staff too.

Went out for a birthday meal her and I have to say. The food is sooooooooo good. Honestly, if youre looking for a treat or a cute date night go here! You will not regret it! Try the cauliflower, the Korean chicken and the ribs. Unbelievable!

Went here a couple months ago with a voucher that we were given over Christmas. My girlfriend has a sesame allergy, which we found out was the one allergy that couldn't be catered for, but unfortunately we had no choice. Our waiter, who was also the manager, was incredible and made sure we could try as many dishes as possible, with the additional issue of me being gluten-free. The food was great and we were incredibly well taken care of. Thanks for saving the evening!

Cost me £10 of 4 small pieces of chicken at Newport Market. I’d hate to think if I ordered the small 😂 I asked for no Spring onion, “suprise” it was laced with it. Tasted good but not worth the money. Bigger portion or lower price and I’d be back

Very delicious food. Ended up finishing every last bit. The cauliflower was the best dish - though perhaps don't finish all the sauce as you will be chugging water all afternoon from the salt.

What a cute little venue! SLG is in one of the converted shipping containers at Wapping Warf and is definitely worth a visit if you haven't already. There are options for everyone, including vegan options that are full of flavour and left me feeling full and satisfied. I paid £10 for a large veggie bento bowl, which had Sichuan fried cauliflower, sticky rice, mushrooms, edamame etc. I would definitely recommend this place, and the service was quick and friendly too.

Japanese/Korean fusion cuisine restaurant Concept of small plates that allow you to taste several à la carte creations. Everything is excellent, well measured and balanced in terms of flavors. You will find spicy, fried or even raw elements. If you are a fan of Japanese beers, you will find Asahi on tap! Large varieties of cocktails with Japanese flavors. Very pleasant and attentive staff, pleasant and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend, to do and redo. If you want to dine there, remember to make a reservation

I came here for a birthday dinner, and it was absolutely amazing!! certain dishes are definitely better value for money. The salmon sashimi is £12 for just 4 slices and some microgreens, whereas the mapo tofu is £9 for a nice bowl of rice, mushrooms, and tofu. standout dish was definitely the fried katsu balls. They were so savoury and really had that katsu flavour, which went amazingly with the parmesan. the mussels with kimchi jiggae were also great, had a rich seafood flavour, and the kimchi broth was perfect slurped up with the mussels. there were some things that weren't so great though, the serving sizes for everything is tiny, but this is that kind of restaurant so you can't complain too much. The korean fried chicken could be better, the sauce was nice, although a bit too sweet, and the chicken was dry and overcooked. Overall though, this was a great experience! Our server was very nice and came back to check on us at the perfect times throughout our meal. Would definitely recommend this if you want a nice treat

After reading some comments I know why other people is complaining: front of house couldn't be more rude. In special there is a blonde guy with very short hair that makes you feel unwelcome since the moment you show up. The food in the other hand is totally delicious. I just hope management would make something about that, as it is a shame that a great place like this is ruined by the lack of good service.
