Seven Coffee Shop in Scarborough

Our favourite lunch venue in Scarborough. A lovely place where the menu is quite good. The service is always excellent and the food is perfect for our needs. We have been several times in the past year and we will continue to do so.

We saw a sign for this coffee shop and paid a visit and it was wonderful. The service was great and I had the Eggs Benedict which were beautiful. A big pot of Yorkshire Tea too. Would highly recommend

We found this cafe yesterday and decided to come back today for breakfast. Wow so glad we did! The best breakfast ever. Great service and even our spaniel got a sausage. Will definitely be back when we are next in Scarborough. Fabulous.

When you eat out with a dog you sometimes get relegated to a side room or outside, but not here. Seven is a lovely coffee shop with friendly staff and an extensive menu. We had seen the “pet friendly” sign outside but when we walked in it was so nice that my wife told me to ask and make sure, not only was it pet friendly but our canine friend got a sausage once we had ordered our meals. The Yorkshire tea arrived shortly after ordering, decaf for my wife and regular for me. Our food took around 10 minutes to arrive and not only was it well presented it was delicious. We noticed that a good few of the customers were locals, that is always a good sign.

Fabulous little find, tucked away up a side road great selection of cakes, and some tasty sandwiches. Brilliant breakfast menu if there before 12. Highly recommend.

What a lovely "old fashioned" cafe in the town centre. The service was excellent and my wife and I had a lovely time eating a snack with fresh and lovely tea for two.

The hotel we were staying at didn’t serve breakfast so we found this place as we walked into the town. Ate Eggs Benedict & avocado on toast with poached eggs & 2 coffees. Lovely bright cafe & food was really tasty.

I live in Scarborough and go to Seven nearly every Saturday morning. They have the most welcoming staff and Andy is always happy for a chat! . Their coffee is probably the best in Scarborough town centre. Their food looks amazing too, however being coeliac I wasn’t sure if they could cater for me, plus I’m always there early! The place is usually busy and the service is quick and always with a smile! Well worth a visit

Was looking for somewhere to lunch that was dog friendly and saw this cafe which had a good write up. The cafe is lovely and clean and run by great staff who are friendly and sociable. The food is made fresh by a lady who says she's only the cook, well her food is very good. We had the Prawns and Smoked Salmon platter which was a big stack of salmon and prawns well worth the price. Even though it was after the cut off time we asked for Mumbled Eggs which they were happy to accommodate and were very good. Even the dog got a sausage

After a cold walk at Robin Hoods Bay, my friend and I decided to venture to this lovely gem, we'd been advised as a must visit in Scarborough! We arrived drenched and very late in the day with my 2 dogs, to be welcomed with such friendliness, I could not praise the 2 staff members enough for there kindness, welcoming and the fact that even although the kitchen had just closed they were able to whip us up something utterly delicious! Lunch was fantastic, the place is beautifully decorated and has a lovely feeling and oh my goodness the cakes look amazing! We were conscious we were keeping the girls late, so didn't get to savour what was on offer, so we cannot wait to return! Just a fabulous experience and lovely end to the afternoon. Great coffee, cakes and scones with excellent lunch choices make this an excellent choice for a lunch or coffee stop. Very highly recommended.

On a strangely cold March day with snow flurries occurring, we needed a warm lunch and a hot drink that was dog friendly. Seven was welcoming from the moment we stepped in, warm dog friendly and the staff were lovely. We choose a breakfast club sandwich and pot of tea. The sandwich was gorgeous and very filling and was made with sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese. The pot of tea was generous with extra hot water for two pots. Excellent service and fabulous food. We will return next time we are in scarbourgh. Highly recommend this little gem 💎

Lovely cup of coffee after taking the train to Scarborough. Busy and the food looked really good so reserved a table for lunch. The menu is quite varied and plenty of choice for non meat eaters too. Nice food good service what’s not to like!

My wife, her sister and I visited 'Seven" "on spec". We were looking for a fairly light lunch and could not have been more pleased with what we found at 'Seven'. The service was spot-on: welcoming, un-pressured, flexible, accommodating and delightfully informal. The food was beautifully prepared, substantial, thoroughly satisfying and excellent value for money. And yes, they did ask for my contact details but in a manner that was completely un-intrusive. Our lunchtime at 'Seven' was a lovely experience, for which we were truly grateful.

First visit to Seven for evening food and the Tapas were really good in both variety and flavour. The experience could be much improved with more focus on the ambience by changing the daytime coffee shop into an evening Tapas restaurant- low lighting, candles etc.

I have been to Seven quite a few times since the new owners took over in February this year. The café has been given a much needed makeover. It has a charming modern vibe with a nice mixture of different styles of seating including benches and tables alongside individual armchairs and sofa seating. The staff are efficient and pleasant. Everything is spotlessly clean.The food is freshly prepared and caters for most tastes and includes amongst other things a selection of breakfast, brunch & light bite options. Hot and cold sandwiches and baked potatoes. Today I had a bacon, brie & cranberry panini. It had a good amount of filling and was nicely presented with a side salad, coleslaw and crisps. I also had a white chocolate & raspberry Blondie. It was all delicious! All in all Seven is well worth a visit!

We came here for breakfast twice during our three day trip to scarborough because it was so good! Staff were friendly and followed the covid procedures well by wearing masks and disinfecting chairs and tables. Tables well spaced out so felt comfortable. Took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out for breakfast. Eggs Benedict really nice and had a sneaky bacon and mushroom sandwich on the side. Dogs welcome, Henry our Boxer liked it. Went back the following day (Thursday full .price) as the food was so nice that we didn't want to go anywhere else. Really convenient if you are staying near St Nicholas Cliff with a dog as you can walk through a couple of small gardens on the way. Highly recommended.

I was a regular visitor under the previous ownership and was very impressed with my recent visit. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the cafe has been refreshed with a more modern vibe, yet is still comfortable and relaxing. We popped in for a coffee while trying to dodge the rain. Place was really lovely and the coffee was nice and staff friendly. If we hadn’t long eaten fish and chips we would have had a slice of cake they looked delicious. Great little find

My husband and I arrived in Scarborough on Monday and wanted somewhere for breakfast on Tuesday. We found Seven on here and thought it could be perfect for us as it was close to our hotel and dog friendly (they are also signed up to the Eat Out scheme which was just an added bonus). What we didn’t realise was quite how perfect it would be. We visited on Tuesday morning and the owner could not have been more welcoming. He happily accommodated each request we made and allowed us to adapt the breakfasts to suit our requirements. We needed breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday and could not actually visit anywhere else as we knew it wouldn’t compare. When we arrived for breakfast on Wednesday the owner remembered our order from the Tuesday, what a lovely touch. This showed us how he cares about his customers. Through the week we sampled several coffees, Eggs Royale, Mumbled Eggs, banana bread and a chicken, cheese and caramelised onion wrap, all were so tasty day in day out. Seven has lovely decor and how it is addressing safety in line with Covid-19 is second to none.And I have to mention how welcome our dog was made, he’s not a small dog but each day he received fuss from the owner as well as several treats. He’ll miss going for breakfast each day just as much as we will! Everything about Seven was fantastic, we would recommend it 100% to anyone visiting Scarborough!

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Scarborough where we could take our dogs, and actually passed Seven whilst going to a nearby hotel that had come up on a google search. So glad we walked the way we did, as it was a lovely little cafe that was perfect for lunch for us and our toddler. Not easy to get into with a pram, as there are several steep steps, but the staff member (potentially I think he was actually the owner) I spoke with before we went in offered to help bring the pram in (we had a collapsible one so it was ok). We had our choice of tables, and were able to sit somewhere that we could keep the dogs out of everyone’s way - I could also see lots of comfortable looking seating further back in the cafe.The staff were all really friendly and there was a good choice of tasty food which was all reasonably priced. I’d definitely recommend the cafe to friends who live in the area, and to fellow dog owners.

Really pleased to have found this fantastic coffee shop just off the high street in Scarborough! Great place, reasonably priced too. We went for lunch and had lovely, fresh bagels - my husband and I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg bagels and the kids had bagels with bacon - really generous portions.We also had delicious home-made brownies and vanilla cheesecake for puds, which the owners kindly packed up for us as a takeaway. Very nice, fresh coffee as well. Friendly service and spotless loos too. Highly recommended!

We found this by chance and dropped in for a drink and snack. The scones were wonderful and the cakes looked amazing. Lots of space between tables so felt like a safe environment.

The cafe has now been taken over by new owners as from February 2020. They have changed the decor and furniture, modernising the look slightly, but not losing character, it still has a warm cosy feel with added sofas in the conservatory area. I have been coming here for over 15 years with different owners, but have never been disappointed, as they have all been fantastic owners with a passion for what they do, as with and including the new owners. They are a lovely couple and cannot do enough for you, i sometimes visit twice a day when i have the time, as it is so nice. The staff are brilliant too, really friendly and add to the enjoyment of a visit. The menu has not altered much from the previous owners menu, so previous customers will not be disappointed and get mostly what they had before. The new cakes, tray bakes and scones etc are just as delicious looking. This week there was a jammy dodger cheesecake especially for the school holiday. I recommend this to all, and for those looking for a place to hold a special event, such as a birthday lunch or group meet up etc. They also have a face book page.

We stumbled across this place whilst out on Scarborough. It is light and airy inside and the service is friendly. We just had coffee/tea with something to nibble but it was good and they brought it to the table. Cost was reasonable. A good place when thirsty after a morning shopping!

We stumbled across Seven when trying to find a spot to get out of the rain one morning, and were very glad we did. It was very quiet when we walked in, with only 2 other people in there, but we welcomed the quiet relaxing atmosphere, so we could sit and enjoy a drink. They had some lovely cakes on display - my little boy particularly enjoyed the brownie that was on offer, and my Husband really rated their coffee, which came with 3 of the most beautiful little shortbread biscuits on the side, whilst I enjoyed a bottle of elderflower presse. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Scarborough sea front and don’t mind a bit of a walk into the town centre, definitely check out Seven!

Popped in for lunch today with partner and little one. Welcomed with a smile, staff extremely friendly and went above and beyond. Food was delicious!. And plenty of it!. If I was being picky the only criticism I would have is the coronation chicken was spicier than expected. I have used this place many times over the last few years when in Scarborough.I visited Friday 2nd May with a friend arriving few minutes after 12.30. The place was in no way full yet they had sold out of soup! I also wanted a sparkling mineral water, none left.I assume they either had not made any soup or had a little left from previous day and didn’t bother to make anymore.I would have thought they could see when bottled water was running low & replenished stock.Usually I have been pleased with this place, but as Bank Holiday Monday was on the horizon expected better.The staff are very good, although there is one over enthusiastic waitress who goes well over the top when trying to have a conversation with dining companion.Come on Seven get back to usual standards.

i have gone in hear over the years on and off, the lady who owns it is brilliant with everyone, so enthusiastic and chatty she makes you feel very welcome, nothing is too much trouble. othr staff are lovely really friendly and polite, drinks and food are very good, there is something for all, nice selection of cakes etc. it is open 5 days a week but closed at the weekends. i would love it to open weekends but alas they just like the weekdays for now, would be packed if open on weekends. i cannot recommend it enough.

We called in this café because the restaurant further up the road was closed. What attracted us was the sign outside saying crab on the menu until we went inside and was told they hadn't got any. They should have removed the sign but I guess it was to lure people in and it worked. The waitress was very loud and over fussy as she went through everything on the menu with us, it kind of frightens people off . I ordered at the counter but the assistant wanted the drinks order first, I asked if we could have the drinks when the food arrives as usually the tea has gone cold by the time the meal is served. The food arrived but no drinks . we were struggling to digest the food without a drink and had to leave half of it then the tea arrived. I guess we were being made to wait after refusing the drinks at the beginning. The food was nothing out of the ordinary and the service made you feel uncomfortable.

My mum came over and we went to the lovely cafe we had poached salmon and salad we eyioyed ourselves and the staff are excellent and food is excellent.,plus I go in on my own there is lots people that talk to you and chat love this place.

Popped over to Scarborough today, called in for lunch. Greeted by lady behind counter as we walked in, even though she had her hands full at that moment. Tea and jacket potatoes with un-melted cheese selected from an extensive menu and ordered at the counter. Was asked to collect my own cutlery, which I did (why do some people make a fuss about this). Tea was brought to our table, followed a few minutes later by food, as ordered; and it was very good, with nicely balanced salad. Definitely will return as I know from past experience the scones are to die for.
