My husband and I have eaten a few times and always love the different types of food on offer, not a large choice but what they do they do well. If I had any criticism, I would like a few more Gluten free options and the food could be a bit hotter, I had a lovely loaded fries, delicious flavour but the chips were lukewarm.

Very relaxed spot for lunch, were very helpful and catered nicely to my parter with allergies - we struggle to find places we trust to eat since his allergies are severe but 100% confident with the staff and kitchen team here! Service has always been friendly and I’m a massive fan of their specialty coffees!

Had the “lighter bites” fish tacos which were absolutely delicious and were plenty for lunch. Great service, lovely venue and would definitely come again.

So get this for an experience… My friend bought me a gift card for this place, but I don’t go into town often and forgot about it for just over a year. So anyway, I’m walking past this place, and think “hey I fancy a coffee, these guys sell coffee, I’ll use that card I’ve had for ages to get a coffee”. I ask, I’m told it probably won’t work. They try, it doesn’t work. I was polite about it as they seemed busy and a bit miffed with me and my enquiry, so I didn’t argue about it. Then I thought about it on the way home, a gift card that only has a year lifespan?? That card had £40 on it. I look online, and it turns out the LAW is that all gift cards have to have a minimum of 5 years life span. So basically this place just hard robbed me. Obviously I can’t prove anything. The card was a gift, so I don’t have a receipt, and the waiter kept the card. But I’m not a fan of daylight robbery. So here’s a review that reflects that.

Went for lunch at 1 have eaten here before. Love the food. Menu looked great but hadn't realised I was looking at evening menu 🙄 the lunch menu was quite small so asked if I could have eggs benedict off brunch menu which finished at 12. The answer was no even though only 4 tables occupied. Choose of lunch menu & asked for some alioli but was told no as it was on evening menu 🙄 For an independent restaurant they are very uncompromising, not good customer service. It's a shame as food is excellent

Been here twice recently. Once with friends for breakfast and again tonight for dinner. Both times I received a high standard of service from staff who were attentive and efficient. The food has been really good, the crispy goats cheese and the lamb stew tapas were my particular favorites. Well worth a visit.

We had been looking forward to our Valentines booking however we left disappointed. Once seated at our table we waited 30 minutes for our arrival cocktail ‘love potion’, followed 30 minutes later with our starters. Another 30-40 minutes later, our mains finally arrived. We were told our table was for a limited time of 80 minutes, usually plenty of time for us eating as a couple, however 90+ minutes had passed and we still had no mains. Waiters had come up to our table to deliver food but repeatedly got the wrong table - this was also seen on many other tables and it appeared that there was no organisation as to whose food was going where. It was also noticed that we weren’t the only table waiting far longer than we should have been. Upon asking for the bill, our waiter asked us about our experience, specifically with the service, to which I explained the service was slow. The waiter explained they are trialling a new system, and that they were 2 staff members short. However I will say that when the food arrived, it was delicious, but such a shame it was let down by the service. The set menu was great value for money, as well as maintaining authenticity and using local produce.

We visited on Saturday evening for tapas. Food was delicious and service was very attentive, service charge is automatically added which I was happy to pay. Favourites were the cod tacos and crab coquettes. Cocktails were reasonably priced, definitely will visit again, only thing I didn't like was the unisex toilets which seem to be getting the norm in restaurants these days.

Light lunch with friends, on arrival told they were a Chef down through illness. 20 minute delay was explained and we were offered a complimentary coffee whilst we waited. Happy with the explanation and enjoyed a coffee and chat before ordering our lunch. Food was timely and absolutely delicious. Fresh, well presented and value for money. Service was excellent. The immediate explanation of the shortage of kitchen staff and a complimentary coffee was professional and ensured all customers were well informed. Can’t wait to go back for another Buddha Bowl.

Have heard great things about this place so decided to give it a try on Wednesday lunchtime in between Xmas and new year. Not particularly busy, service was slow, took 20 minutes to take a drinks order, we asked if we could order food tat the same time, told the waiting staff would get our drinks and then take our food order. We waited a further 30 minutes to have our food order taken. Not a huge menu but we found something to please the majority. My youngest, who can be fussy, tried the Korean loaded fries, a big plate for a small appetite but he did his best. The waiter collecting plates admonished him for not “trying the food”!! Huge positive is that you can tell all the food is freshly cooked, can out piping hot and it was very tasty. We left £75 lighter for what was a light lunch for 2 adults and 2 children really. Glad we tried it but won’t go again.

Arrived 11am. Waited 30 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. Had to find a menu for ourselves. Drinks arrived, order for food taken, arrived 30 minutes later. Cold homemade beans with the sausage pattie burger. No meal check, no asking if we wanted anything else. No attempt to bring us our bill. In fact no attempt to make us feel welcome at all. Maybe a shortage of staff, but there should be an explanation of some sort to explain why the service is slowwwwww and shoddy !!

An amazing experience in the newest independent evening venue in Hereford. Excellent tapas options and great service. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes available. We will be back!

Went in for tea and cake just before lunchtime. On offer were just brownies , flapjack and I think it was called a Cuffin, which was what I had. When order was taken the server asked if I’d like it hot or cold. I asked what it actually consisted of but she didn’t know so as it looked similar to a muffin crossed with a croissant I went for cold. The pastry tasted very nice but I had to ask for a fork to eat it with plus white sugar for my tea plus a spoon to stir tea with. I’m not being petty but these are pretty basic items. I was told they were not allowed to give me the Wi-Fi password… moreover £4.10 for an iced soya latte …. Given this is not any cheaper than any other place I don’t see why I should back there if they cannot offer a similar service (e.g. free wi-fi)

We had a family breakfast here , the food was so well presented and was delicious . The staff were very attentive and hardworking . We will return A breakfast for four adults and drinks cost £63

They don’t seem to be able to cope with the bigger size of the new restaurant. Nearly an hours wait. Food was nice but nothing special. Very expensive for what it is. Very disappointing.

Table for two booked for lunch ‘served from 12.30’. We arrived c12.20 and were seated but not allowed to order until 12.30 sharp. By 1.10 I asked where the food was and was told they were fulfilling a ‘large takeaway order’ so would have to wait. We were offered complimentary drinks when I pointed out it would be nearly an hour between order and eating, and I had places to go. Food arrived, and was very good, complimentary drinks did not. I reminded them, they arrived. The food was good, but being told to wait so they could send out takeaways undoubtedly ordered after we had arrived is a bit much. The room is very stripped-back, exposed concrete etc, looks very unfinished, and so is quite noisy. Probably won’t go back until they decide whether they are a restaurant or a takeaway.

Moca was the being of my experience, I am no connoisseur of the coco bean but it was triumphant and I would recommend to all! The staff are awfully organised. The the breakfast Very healthy in its taste no expense was speared, and it looked gorgeous. I shall definitely endeavour to return!!

This cavernous restaurant gets really busy on a Saturday, so make sure you remember to book a table in advance. The menu is varied and unusual with lots of choice to tempt your tastebuds. The service is very casual and laid-back with a generally friendly "vibe". Be careful though; we intended to pay with a "Hereford City Gift Card" and were informed by the unconcerned waitress that sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. Quite a serious issue if you don't happen to have any ready cash with you! Anyway...in the end it was all sorted out and we really enjoyed our brunch.

Went to sensory and rye for breakfast with my wife. We tried to go last time we were in Hereford, but it was booked out. So we tried again this time. We arrived at around 10am on a Friday morning and the cafe was quite auiet. Staff came quickly to take our drink and food orders. There wasn't many staff visible, so I imagine it might have taken a while had it been busy. I would say for how quiet the cafe was, it was quite a wait for the food, but we weren't in a rush, so we didn't particularly mind. Between us, we had the pancakes and eggs with hallomi and avacardo on sourdough toast. We both had coffee. The food really was excellent. The presentation with the eddible flowers was really something. The cafe has a nice atmosphere. Would definitely come again next time we are in Hereford. I have been using trip advisor for a long time, but I thought I should contribute.

I want to give this 5 stars because the food was exceptional. However, quite a wait for the food, not too fond of being served by someone in shorts and I don’t like being asked to tip. Especially not at breakfast.

Lovely restaurant!! Beautiful modern interior and I was seated straight away. I was served by a lovely blonde girl who was very chatty and attentive, makes all the difference! My coffee and almond croissant were both delicious and I will definitely be returning to try the brunch menu😁

Really delicious fresh food served in this trendy industrial café's new venue over the road from it's old site. Plenty of room and a mixed crowd, great for families. Veggie and non-veg options - fab pulled pork bun, and amazing halloumi loaded pita..... also licensed. A selection of puddings would be nice!

Had a lovely breakfast here with my friend. I got the vegetarian breakfast, which was served with DELICIOUS sourdough, hash brown, beans, halloumi, a giant mushroom, etc. Etc. The only thing I didn't like on it were the veggie sausages, but did that ruin my experience? No, no it didn't. We also treat ourselves to prosecco and iced coffee, the only way to start a Tuesday morning, in my opinion. Waitress was really lovely too. All in all, great place, lovely atmosphere and decor and not TERRIBLY priced.

Quite simply, one of the best lunches I've had. A relaxed atmosphere, a chatty and friendly waitress, and good food. Shame I don't live more locally, but if I'm ever in the area, this is where I will be heading.

We were in Leominster looking for vegan lunch and were advised to go to Hereford and visit this place. As it came with such a recommendation I called en route to book a table for my friend and I. I love love love Buddha bowls so all the way to Hereford i raved about them to my friend. So when we got there thats what we ordered. As it was £9.50, and the most expensive vegan option, we expected something pretty substantial but confused that we were encouraged to order a side of flat bread. Bloomin good job we did!!! The Buddha bowl wouldn't have cost them more than £3 to make and I get that they have overheads but seriously? Tablespoon of watery quinoa, tablespoon and lentils, less the a quarter of avocado, 4 thin slices of apple, tasteless beetroot humous, watery dukha and some leaves!!!! For the price I expected loads more. Flatbread was £2 and my friend and i both felt that bread should be included in all mains. Total rip-off. And they put a reserved sign on the table next to us where two young girls were sitting waiting for their food to arrive!!!! Will never go again

We went here a couple of weeks ago, last minute booked I believe. They were welcoming of the dogs being inside which was great as it was pouring and they even kindly gave us something to dry them off with. Great start.... However, I wasn't very hungry feeling a little travel sick as this was a stop off to visit someone on our journey home so all I fancied on their menu was Popcorn Chicken, Peas and fries. Yes part of the kids menu but no age limit on it that I could see... I had popped to the ladies when the food was being ordered and the member of staff asked if it was for my Step- daughter to which my partner replied no for my other half, it was at that point he was told then no we couldn't order it as for 10 years and under.. But it was felt like if for my SD it would've been fine (she very much isn't 10 as drove us to the café and doesn't even look it). So all I had was skinny fries. None of he waiting staff were wearing masks or visors, which was also disappointing as we had to sign in and leave a mobile number as a track & trace method, which didn't seem to be the case for everyone as I saw at least one group of people walk straight through. They were also using a window seat to put people whilst they were waiting for their table to become free, this happened a couple of times and not once did I see a member of staff clean it in between use. just after we finished out meal, but before we had paid a piece of paper was put on the table with reserved at 2:30 with a name on. At no point were we told there was a time limit, and felt we were being pushed to leave/hurried along. Won't be back here I feel.

This used to be my favourite place for breakfast. Yesterday when ordering waffles I asked if I could pay extra for a poached egg and could they leave off the cream and praline. I was informed that the egg could be served on a separate plate but I MUST have the cream and praline as this was chef’s recommendation and it could not be changed or I should order something else! This had not been a problem for them a few weeks earlier however. Not sure if their newfound refusal to make small changes to accommodate customer personal taste is pure arrogance or just being inconsiderate, but either way they will rapidly lose customers. There are plenty of other great places to eat in Hereford. We left and ate elsewhere.

This was our first visit and sadly probably will be our last. We had prebooked to be sure of getting a table. Service was very slow, we were waiting ages for our orders to be taken and when food arrived it was in fits and starts, we got sweet potato fries and had finished them before any food arrived! The fries were OK but quite oily and some were quite hard. Nowhere on the menu does it mention that you cant make changes to the dish. My son wanted the chicken sandwich without any other fillings so just chicken and bread but was told that he couldnt make any changes! This left him with little to no other options so he tried the falafel wrap which sadly was very vinegary and had very little falafel in it, the wrap was also very soggy, he left most of his food. We asked for mayonnaise for our young daughter and they brought chilli mayo which she couldnt eat it was way too spicy. The lady cleaning the tables was doing a terrible job, she would only wipe part of the table and on one table she didnt even wipe it when the diners left but cleaned the part that the last guests hadnt even been sitting at. Staff did not appear to be social distancing at all. Puddings were tasty but very hard and no cream was offered. My son had a coffee that he found quite bitter. The pork burger was OK but had maybe too many flavours in it and the Big Buddha Bowl wasnt very big nor was the flatbread that was ordered to go with it. The flatbread was far smaller than the ones used on the sandwiches. Lots of mint on things when it didnt compliment the food. Halloumi fries were very cool when they arrived at the table. Sadly not a great meal.

....I can't believe it's taken me so long to get to this wonderful place. My daughter and I had brunch there this morning and it was a wonderful experience and we'll definitely be back. In fact I think this is going to be a regular haunt. The owner and staff are fabulous and all credit to to you for having to go suffer all that COVID has thrown at you and coming out the other side, hopefully even stronger and better than before. Having just taken my driving theory test around the corner, and feeling a celebration was in order, we visited Sensory and Rye for breakfast. I had waffles with caramelised banana, lashings of Nutella and crushed hazelnuts which came topped with a gorgeous little homemade merangue and cream. A feast for the eyes and delicious, the generous portion defeated me. My husband also loved his huervos rancheros with bacon, feta and buttery flatbread. Not a cheap breakfast option, but well worth it. Would recommend!

I eat here often and it was one of the places I really missed when eateries were closed. I love the food here. It’s fresh and so tasty. I had the Turkish Eggs, although I forgot to add feta today but they were still lovely. My daughter had the Nutella waffle and my husband had the pulled pork burger. All great, it might not be for everyone. If you are after a full English don’t entertain it, if you want modern, fresh tasty food served by pleasant staff then give it a go.

Honestly once you have tasted this food for breakfast, brunch or lunch you wont want to go anywhere else. The food is creative, tasty and fresh. I have been going here since it opened and have never been disappointed. Such friendly staff and a great atmosphere

Fantastic fresh food, amazing colourful plates, dog friendly , amazing coffee (even decaf) payment machine broke down and a little confusion over orders but food far outweighed that by a mile, thouroughly recommend to anyone I know , good job :)

Been going to Sensory and Rye for a long time and used to really enjoy it. But just before lockdown the service changed and they became very complacent although the food was still really lovely. Had several takeaways while in lockdown but very excited to be able to go again. Very disappointed with lukewarm welcome. No choice of where to sit while other customers were given options. Food very average and we felt invisible. Such a shame as used to recommend to everyone.
