From the moment you enter the place you are greeted with a warm welcome, fabulous beer and the most amazing donuts!!! We happened upon this place whilst staying in the area and we are so very glad we did! The staff were amazing and the beer - brewed in their nearby tap house was delicious!! They honestly couldn’t have done more to make the evening so enjoyed

Amazing meal with friendly staff who are very accommodating, we would highly recommend a visit to this country pub for food and drinks. Thanks to all the staff and owner Andy.

We organised a meal for 7 of us to catch up as one of our friends had flown back from Belgium. Right from the initial booking I was blown away by the excellent service nothing was too much trouble and on the night Jude I think that was his name was fantastic. The food we had was lovely and reasonably priced we will definitely be back thank you!

So 4 families all joined together to celebrate a friends birthday for a 7pm table. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. One family were slightly later but that wasn’t a problem. We had a nice large table/room to ourselves seating the 12 of us. After placing the order we wondered into the garden to watch the children have a play in the large garden and the staff came to find us to let us know when the bbq was ready. We all ate together inside. The children played in the garden after dinner and sone relaxed on the sofas/comfy armchairs while the adults had a catch up. The staff were attentive to our needs and the food was very tasty. Would definitely return!! Great value for money! Thank you to all Of the lovely staff that made our evening so relaxed and enjoyable!

Excellent for children, and families. A brilliant area ft lambs, ducks and a sheltered area for when in the sunshine! Very dog friendly also. Overall a great evening out with our little family

Had a lovely beef roast dinner today. Everything was hot, fresh and very tasty. The pigs in blankets were lovely Friendly staff and owner. Will be back for sure!

Really friendly staff, had the Lasagna which was lush. Would definitely go back. I have previously had a Sunday Roast here which was fabulous so thought I would try a mid week lunch. Want disappointed. Would definitely recommend.

Does not deserve a 1 but had to score something Not a good experience at all service awful , food awful, place lacked customer service from start to finish, if needed anything had to go up to the bar to ask several times WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE RETURNING AND WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING such a shame as the place itself has potential !!

Went here for lunch with family for a birthday meal. We sat down and had our drinks order taken to be then told there was no pizza or fish which meant half of the menu wasn’t available! 40 minutes passed by since we arrived and our food order hadn’t been taken and there appeared to be only one lady serving the whole restaurant and was rushed off her feet. Unfortunately, we couldn’t wait any longer so left.

Disgusting cold chicken burgers with under cooked chips, chicken curry 3 pieces of chicken in slop! Plain beef burger cold in middle and the chips barely warm. Offered new chicken burgers that arrived so long after others had finished but minus chips. Poor guy on service appeared embarrassed by the vile cold greasy food. First pub I’ve seen Sauvignon Blanc carbonated in a can! Guess there’s a reason why is was over half empty. Avoid at all costs.

Booked a table for a party of 8 to turn up and be told there was no booking under my name. However a lovely lady behind the bar did make room for us. Unfortunately we did not stay as the menu was very poor. Also when ordering drinks to be told sorry we don’t have that, sorry we don’t have that. Very poor and unorganized. Would not recommend.

Really warm welcome and pleasant experience. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and professional. Food reasonably priced with special offers for themed nights.

We attended a family wake at this venue, having been out of area we relied on sat nav to find it's location, even a basic nav dropped on the car park, where there was ample space. Once inside, it was very welcoming and decor, flooring to a very high standard indeed, quite upmarket infact. There were many options for drinks, real ales, ciders etc, as the location is remote there were also several zero alcohol products for the driver (ME). We had food layed on which was all home made, the quicé was amazing, each individually made (Compliments to the 5* chef, of course). The toilets were spotless and well presented too. If we are ever in Hereford again, we will surly make a b line for the Secret Garden once more. Thank you to the excellent compassionate staff on the day, who made everything go smoothly, Dave & Jill (RIP KMG).

Met up for an afternoon tea. Was given the option of vegetarian and dairy free. The sandwiches were bland and unappetising. No dairy free option given for the scones so I was unable to eat mine, despite being informed weeks ago about dairy free. On speaking to management they apologised but I wasn't happy. Glad to get home and get some food. Very disappointed with this. The staff were lovely and maybe the cooked food is better. Hopefully they will impove on this in the future.

Service fine, but meal very poor small portions uncooked vegetables roast potatoes overdone. Very disappointed.

Food good but over priced, for a lot of veg and one slice of slim beef, and the dessert was a let down. Staff friendly. Another problem is the strong smell of sewage hanging around the eating area's. Not very pleasant when eating. Would of been nice to have been told and given the option of eating inside. But told there was nothing they could do about it Shame because in the past been good.

We visited with our granddaughter for a lunch. The wait for food was long, they don’t seem able to cope with more than 3 table orders at a time, we waited 45 mins to order but to be fair the food arrived within 10-15 mins. We thought the food was very over priced for the portion size on certain dishes. The kids meals weren’t very inventive, the usual choice, not very inspiring. The play area is very basic, lacks investment. Would possibly attract more families if there was more to occupy the children. Probably won’t visit for food again.

A mixed review for the Secret Garden. The place is spotlessly clean and a lovely ambiance. Service by the staff was excellent and friendly. They werent particularly busy, but from ordering to food to table was 45 minutes, which is excessive. The food was very good, the cauliflower cheese was really tasty and the gravy was lush. Overall all was very good, but £16 maybe a little steep.

Good food, staff were very friendly and attentive, lovely setting, a great place to spend an evening for dinner.

Had a a party of 24 today for lunch.from start to finish Vickie and the staff were incredible and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and Vickie was cool calm and collected and just simply wonderful. The food was delicious and the secret garden burgers were most definitely a massive hit with our party. We will be returning for future events and would say this gem is must visit if you are in the area. Thank you to the secret garden team for our wonderful lunch today. What a lovely pub! Great food, super drinks selection and fantastic service! The garden is really impressive - a massive decked area with chunky wooden furniture and a massive field with play equipment so perfect for younger kids

We went here on the 08th February for Steak and Wine Night for a work function with 26 people. The food was excellent, well presented and beautifully cooked. Deserts were great home made served with ice-cream. Service was really good staff were helpful and we had a fantastic evening. Great value for money and we will be going back!

Went to a Christmas party here which was all prepaid and ordered beforehand. What a huge letdown. Cheap crackers to begin with then our food was dreadful! Paid £30 for 3 courses one was a prawn cocktail with tiny frozen prawns on some leaves with a pink mayo sauce! Worst ever! Then the Christmas dinner which was awful! Salty Turkey 3 Brussel sprouts, 1 pig in blanket, Yorkshire pudding which had been over cooked and was like cardboard! Not impressed!!! Cheese and biscuits for dessert which was my savour as they can’t really get that wrong! Huge disappointment! Friendly young waitresses though.

We visited for a family meal. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. A really great menu choice too. The staff, one of whom, I believe was the manager, couldn't do enough for us. They were so friendly, very patient and so accommodating especially with the difficult/fussy eaters amongst us. Can't thank you enough. You made our family get together truly memorable. Will definitely be back soon and we are really looking forward to our next visit.

Myself and 5 mates went to Secret Garden, planning to head off on a weekend bender for my stag do. It was very clear that they were very busy, but we were seated on the decked area. Which was smart. It was fairly late in the evening at this point and probably close to finishing serving as 3 other places we had been to, had already stopped cooking food. But the lady (a manager I believe) squeezed us in, made us feel extremely welcome and supplied us with enough grub to soak up some part of the alcohol due to be consumed. Our order was 'enough good s**t to soak up a 6ft man's alcohol intake' About 15 minutes later she returned with nachos, chicken wings, halloomi chips, onion rings and a few other dishes for us to dig into, they had even made some nachos for our friend with allergies, so he could eat too. Impressed was an understatement. We were the last people in the pub when we finally staggered our way out, after far to many pints, shots and yager bombs, to head off on the remainder of our journey and suppose we're quite rowdy. So apologies for that! She continued in good spirits and made sure we were fed and watered. She had even given us a taxi number as none of us were capable of arranging that! I don't ever leave a review anywhere, and probably wont ever leave another, but have been going back over things from the last few months and the staff at Secret Garden stood out from the rest and we have now booked a table to return for dinner, as Mr&Mrs in December. Credit where credit is due, absolutely faultless. So, thanks to all at Secret Garden, especially the one lady and her team for making my stag weekend, one to remember. Cheers J

We have just had a most enjoyable lunch at Secret Garden...a wide menu choice to suit all tastes and appetites...the food was tasty, good portion size and very well presented. My husband had the home made pie of the day which was delicious...the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive....the premises are spacious offering a safe environment under the current situation....they have lots of special offers in the week...we will look forward to a return visit....

I very rarely leave reviews but this pub merited itWe both had huckleberry chicken and apple and cinnamon crumble and we couldn’t fault the food The portions were good and the price very reasonable even before finding out that there was an offer on in October and on Thursday night one main was free In total it came to just £24 for the food Bargain! The waitress was very friendly and there was plenty of space and we felt very safe The pub was a 5 minute drive from Premier Inn and for the short drive it’s worth it if you’re staying there

Venturing out for our first meal since the lockdown we were were really pleased with the night we had at the Secret Garden. Welcomed at the door we were taken to our table, there is loads of space. There were plenty of staff working either waiting on tables or cleaning door handles etc., great to see. Live music outside was a nice backdrop. We had a really nice meal, good atmosphere and in safe surroundings (but not intrusive). Recommend.

I just wanted to say what a lovely visit I recently had at the secret garden. We were greeted by a lovely lady (who I believe is the landlady) and shown to our table, everything was explained to us clearly and we went on to order drinks and food. The staff were extremely friendly and happy, service was fantastic and the food was beautiful. The pub was busy, great atmosphere with other diners and distanced perfectly apart. What a great space the pub has for the current situation we are all facing and I will most certainly be returning in the near future.

Spent the day and night at the Secret Garden last Saturday and was truly amazed at the fantastic atmosphere and wonderful food, all of which was served directly to our table by some of the nicest staff i have ever witnessed. They are a credit to the landlady who was on hand to assist us on the day with an app query we had. We will all be back and recommend highly to anyone looking for a lovely day and night. 5 Stars all the way x

I had the misfortune to choose the Secret Garden for a Saturday evening with friends and family . Upon arrival we were barked at to not approach the bar area , but wait to be shown to our table . We duly complied , and eventually were escorted to the table by a surly waitress/manager/owner ( Vicki ? ) with an attitude to match ! . A poor start. We then had the frustration of having to find the app ( two phones had zero reception) and order our drinks and food . Even though it was early evening, the outside area was full of rowdy drunken groups with covid seemingly tossed to one side . The food eventually arrived , two orders incorrect, served by melancholy staff ,,, had something happened ? who knows !! The food was bland , over cooked and uninspiring. We considered complaining but didn’t wish to interrupt Vicki who was more interested in the contents of her phone than the clientele. A visit to the toilet involved passing the fight that had erupted in the Ladies and having to overhear the male staff in the gents slating the manager and various tables they had waited on !! Nice !! We’d had enough,, a £200 + bill arrived ,, no thank you on payment or leaving . ??? I can never understand why people wish to enter the hospitality arena with an obvious distaste for the general public !! Let’s hope the Secret Garden remains just that ,,, a secret never to be revisited

Went for a birthday treat and lunch in one, the lunch was nice I will say that, good tasty home cooked food how I like it, but will also say the drinks are somewhat over priced, wife said small glass of wine was £4.75 ?? bit steep I think, then she said a bottle was only £16, take the bottle next time I think

Horrendous visit, staff were incredibly rude start to finish. The visit did not make me want to stay any longer or spend any more money.

Visited on the 1st of August for the first family gathering we have had since Covid and what a fabulous time we had! The food was nice but a little pricey for what you get. It was a wonderful sunny evening to which we we greeted with a lovely female vocalist who was performing such a brilliant selection of songs old and new. Only downfall was it could have been louder. Overall such a great evening!

I visited on a Sunday for a three course lunch.The location and setting is very nice. Great play area for kids.The food was average. My soup starter, for my personal taste, was over seasoned and the salt was quite overpowering.The roast dinner was nice, although it could have been warmer. It wasn't cold, but certainly wasn't hot. The meat (I had pork) was well cooked and tender. Cauliflower cheese was very tasty and the gravy was nice. The pork is advertised as coming with apple sauce, although when it came to our table we had to ask for that separately; seemed a bit odd to ask for it when it's supposed to come with.Dessert was nice.Service was good.To make you aware, at the moment you order food using an app on your phone. Every order adds 30p service charge. This can't be removed. I mean, it's 30p, hardly breaking the bank, but an option to remove might be the preference of others.Overall, it's what you'd expect from a country pub. Satisfactory food, nice location.

Booked three weeks in advance for dinner for the two of us. Upon walking through the door, instead of a welcome we go told to step back from the bar despite being no where near the bar. We then got shown to our seats at a tiny table right in corner, behind a door. Both me and my partner were facing the wall and couldn’t Physically sit straight at the table due to the lack of space. The table was not fit for anyone to sit at and looked like we had been put in the naughty corner where a coat stand should be. We were also told straight away that we had to be off the table by 20:00. My partner then requested a different table and we were questioned “why” we wanted to move. We did get moved to a more suitable table. Everything is done on an app on a mobile, where a charge of 30p is automatically added onto everything you order without the option of taking it off.We ordered tapas and a steak which was actually very nice but is let down by the poor service and being constantly watched a rushed to get off the table.

Just returned from a lovely afternoon at the Secret Garden. On a damp January day the conservatory was light, bright and warm. Food was plentiful and of good quality. Will definitely return.

Came for dinner. Ambience was nice, warm and friendly. We had olives and hummus with warm bread for starters which were promptly served. Main courses took a while to come. The steak was overlooked although tasty and the chicken with wild rice rather gloopy. If they could improve the quality of their offerings it would be a great place.

Booked here for new years eve cost £30 each and was so bad , the food was a plate of slop mincemeat yuk yuk No dessert was served . Was not the buffet inplyed in their ad .

Just had a birthday meal for my mother in law.It was FABULOUS. 25 of us. Food came promptly & was piping hot. Lashings of extra gravy & the best of all loads of extra roast potatoes. Would highly recommend. The Secret Garden is a stunning venue with excellent staff. Thanks Guys

After running the Cardiff Half, a visit to The Secret Garden was just what we needed! We were unsure of an exact arrival time which was not a problem for the staff, whom were very accommodating.Venue cosy and welcoming.Amazing service, went above and beyond our expectations.children were served first, which is always a plus in my eyes,food was delicious! Had lunch here on a lovely sunny day sat out on the huge patio, it was bliss.The food was brought very prompt, and was good quality. Menu on the small size, but we really enjoyed ourselves.Would recommend if we didn't want to keep it a secret!!

Yet again last minute decision to dine out on a Sunday one quick call and less than an hour later, I see before me an amazing Sunday dinner before my very self. Accompanied by a well kept pint (or three!!) of Broadside. Staff excellently polite and helpful above and beyond their bounds of duty many thanks your staff are a credit to you and your establishment. We will return very soon.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch here with my work colleagues, after recently retiring. Lovely venue, with friendly staff & wonderful food. We ate in the conservatory & were not rushed or bothered with at all. Everyone agreed that the food we all ordered was exceptional & excellent value for money. Ample car parking space. Welcomed by a friendly member of staff (Suzy) as we sat down at our reserved table.

We came here for a 30th birthday party. We were allowed to set up during g the Saturday afternoon of the party. The venue is perfect for a party. There are several seating areas inside and a couple of very large decked areas outside, with several gazebos and lots of tables and chairs. There also a cocktail outside, which was serving some unusual cocktails.

Great place for a wedding venue. Spent the day eating very well in a really nice location. We sat inside and out and the kids could play in the 'field' with bouncy castle and other games. Excellent BBQ, highly recommend the burgers. Plenty of staff both serving and clearing up.

I Came here with my dad for a pint and an evening dinner. Honestly it was the best food I've had outside of the house. The food is fresh and I loved it, big compliments to the people who work here.

Visited with friends as staying nearby for evening meal. Nice friendly staff but very poor menu and avoid if vegan as you will starve. Ordered fish and chips which arrived an hour later and was disappointed received chips peas and batter with virtually no fish in.

Visited on Saturday 22nd June for a 40th Birthday party. What a hidden treasure, the evening was great, the staff were attentive and couldn't fault the food and drinks. Everyone invited definately enjoyed the night.

We ate a late Thursday lunch here so the place was very quiet but the atmosphere is just lovely. We felt welcomed as we entered, walked through to the bar, ordered drinks & requested menus. Then walked through a large conservatory to their fabulous outdoor seating area (a wonderful play area nearby with gated access). It's so quiet and peaceful (obviously different at alternative times) but we enjoyed it as we sat and chose our food. When it arrived, my salmon salad was superb. The fish gently flaked as I ate it; dressing delicious and for a salad I found it filling. My husband and adult son chose burger options which were large meals. Their tapas menu was tempting too! A good place for couples, friends and families.

Portion size way to big for me, otherwise good no nonsense pub food. Tapas dishes were excellent, fruit in the crumble had bite, still crunchy taste was vg

Call in for a snack with the wife was not disappointed as it was very good, the wife went for the open sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it, I went for the Tapas menu and ordered the Charcuterie board which was a selection of meats with salad I also had the bread and Hummus to go with it all of which was extremely tasty.

We truly love this secluded and great little pub in the country. The food and service are always great and the experience enjoyable.

Visited here with family, friends and baby. The pub is done out nicely, lovely and modern but I did notice the lack of pram/wheelchair friendly access. There were a lot of children and babies there and I was surprised they don’t cater for prams. We needed to lift the pram to enter and go outside, which isn’t a huge problem just more of a faff.

Ordered the steak sandwich at £9:00.

visited with friend having been told what a great place it was. what.a shambles ordered drinks no problems ordered food at the same time one and a half hours later no food. complained told that a lot of orders had come in at same time. rubbish only five tables waiting for food. just short of two hours the food arrived which was average. what a shame.staff did apologise for delay but that is not good enough.hate giving bad reviews but on this occasion it is warranted.

Today, I held a baby shower for 27 at The Secret Garden. We were in the stunning conservatory and a beautiful table set up. The staff were more than accommodating letting us set up balloons, props, bunting etc. Nothing was too much trouble, we even asked for a special drink to be served on arrival which was sorted, the staff were great!

My partially sighted friend Stu,& his dog Omar, are getting into training for a long sponsered walk for Guide dogs in July in Cornwall, therefore he & I are trying to get regular walks in. Today we walked from Hereford to Munstone & back. We stopped off @ The Secret Garden for lunch & a drink & water for Omar. What a lovely place this is. We were directed to 'the snug' which is where dogs are made very welcome & where a big bowl of water was already waiting for Omar. Our hostess was Vicky, a lovely welcoming, friendly lady. We had a drink & ordered open sandwiches from the lunchtime menu, we also could have had tapas if we wanted. I had a lovely cranberry compote with bacon & melted brie with a little dressed salad on the side. Stu had a BLT

A packed car park as we arrived. We'd reserved a table thankfully, as the place was packed for the 3 plus hours we were here.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch and fantastic service! Just what you want! Hosted a family birthday and it ran really smoothly so relaxed, nothing was too much trouble and the food and drink delicious. Gorgeous home cooked food and a friendly service! Thank you Vicky and team!
