Me, my partner and son came for breakfast and it was the best breakfast we have ever had! It was so fresh and delicious. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly especially the chef Jo who came out to see how our food was and that is always a good sign of a well run business. We will definitely be visiting again very soon

Just returned home after a lovely breakfast . Great Full English Breakfast , lovely fresh ingredients served super hot. Toast on the side, all delicious.

We spent a great night in this recently refurbished venue. The room (4) was small but really nicely decorated and restyled. The bed was a comfortable large double/king-size and the TV was easy to operate. The ensuite shower room was fine except for the electric shower, which was OK but the pressure was very poor! I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't partake... We'd definitely stay here again when visiting family!

I can’t explain the difference this restaurant has gone through. We enjoyed popping down for a drink or lunch but it was a bit dated, standard pub food etc. We fancied a meal in a garden today and thought we’d pop in here and it was absolutely gorgeous! I had no idea there was a refurb, the vibe is lovely, chilled, elegant decor, lovely relaxed Ibiza-infused beach music and food to die for. 100% my new go to place 😍

We went today Sunday 18th June, the food was amazing and staff very friendly, we took my mum down who has dementia and in a wheelchair and the staff were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them, will definitely visit again.

Fabulous place. Recently renovated with lovely patio and bright modern restaurant and bar. Thoughtful menu -snacks and light bites as well as starters and mains - veggie options as well as interesting seafood and seasonal salads. Well priced . First class service. Yards from the sea with rooms that have channel views. Can’t recommend it enough- do give it a go and if you might be looking for an overnight stay - this is the place!

This is a beautifully presented establishment with superb gardens. Everything looks high end, classy. The menu reads well, albeit pricey! And from what I saw was presented well….. So my niggles will be: the lack of choice for awkward people like myself who is Celiac! In this climate, not to provide adequate choices is truly disappointing. Sitting in the garden (spending a small fortune on drinks!), to be surrounded by smokers is really horrible. A designated area would be considerate and appreciated I’m sure! And lastly, whilst I adore our four legged friends, to have so many of them in such an enclosed area and customers allowing them the lay all over the sofa area is not what you want to see! We will continue to visit occasionally but definitely not for dining ☹️

We visited with 20 people after our walk for refreshments. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were very accommodating in our seating arrangement. We all enjoyed our visit and will visit again. THANK U

A warm and friendly welcome on arrival and shown to our table in this airy and well decorated restaurant. The staff were remarkably pleasant and attentive and the service swift. We shared the crab cakes as a starter, full of flavour and an ample portion. I had the salmon for my main, which was cooked to perfection and came with a delightful accompaniment of asparagus and pea shoots, the buttery new potatoes were delightful. All in all a very reasonably priced lunch and a great experience, would recommend to anyone, thank you.

Good place for a night out if it weren’t for the Cloud9 clique that monopolise the place. This pleasant establishment needs to realise their revenue does not come just from their founders. The success of the business is more deep rooted!

What a lovely restaurant and beautiful seating outside, however, completely spoilt afternoon by a loud table of smokers. Could you not section off an area? I know it’s outside, but 4 people puffing away did not make our experience a good one. Couldn’t you make this outside area, like so many other 5 star venues, a smoke free venue? It completely lowered the tone of this rather fabulous spot. Staff excellent, but I do have to agree with other comments regarding food portions, rather measly for the £.

We were booked in for lunch at 3pm, but started off in their lovely garden drinking G&Ts first. Most of us had the roast sirloin of beef, which was absolutely delicious. Few had puds and cheese, which again were all praised. Would definitely come back and would highly recommend.

I would dine here again but had a few niggles and observations. I feel that the style is rather confused, the image and decor is ‘smart’ dining but they are also trying to be casual. And with that sadly this shows the lack of professional service. As l have an old school background in catering and restaurant service so l was not impressed by the waitress’s lack of knowledge of the menu, among other things…. Such as dessert cutlery plonked on the table after our dessert had arrived, instead of carried to the table on a cutlery plate before they came out. Then being charged separately for the deserts that should have been included in the set menu. Finally, l understand the reason a supplement has to be charged for the steak, however l feel that £5.00 would be reasonable and not £10. Therefore the small piece of sirloin cost £20.00. All said and done l would go again…

This pub needs to up it’s game, it maybe recently refurbished to a high standard, and is clearly popular, but service and quality is erratic and not good value. Had a table booked for my Wedding anniversary meal with my wife. Upon arrival there seemed to be an issue with the table booking/software taking longer than it should to get us to the table, not the best start. Once seated no drinks offered at that point – I had to ask. Drinks then didn’t appear for about 15 minutes (after the starter had arrived) and I had to ask for them again (lost order by the bar apparently). The billing was in a mess and we were asked twice during the meal to repeat back what we had ordered, the first time being presented with the wrong bill. The food, whilst it tasted OK (though I regularly cook better at home), portions were shamefully small considering the price, and even at a lower price point I would expect more on the plate. The Salmon my wife ordered did not make you feel like you had eaten a good meal and looked nothing like the photo here on TA (provided by the management!) which is clearly the same dish and shows about double the portion size she received. My Linguini was tasty but contained around 3 prawns and 2 muscles. This is a rip off. This was not just us, our neighbour and 5 friends were on the next table and their food turned up in dribs and drabs and was not as described with portions very lacking in size. Apparently they were short staffed in the restaurant area so a special mention to Lucy who did an amazing job considering the pressure and difficulties of the busy Saturday evening – she gets 5 stars - thanks. However, we won’t be returning to eat anytime soon, the management need to look carefully at staffing levels, their training, and portions of food at this price point. Maybe the pub is aiming at a fine dining experience (it’s not) but regardless, to avoid this sort of bad press they need to learn from restaurants that do know what they are doing and do it really well with attention to the detail and consistency of the product they are delivering.

Great evening with lovely food - Two course meal for £19.95 - perfect. Really friendly crew of staff and especially Luke who was so attentive and great to chat to. Lovely surroundings & furnishings. Looking forward to the next visit.

Exceptionally disappointed with food. Not much of a menu . Ordered sea food linguini. Seafood consisted of .2 prawns, 1 x cm square bit of salmon and 1/4 piece scallop. Complained and was given 3 more small pieces of salmon. …. Linguini was quite tasty...

Met a friend for dinner. Very overwhelmed by noisy and cramped seating plan in bar area of restaurant, not enough room for our dishes. Food was under seasoned and very overpriced.

We met our very good friends for a drink at the Seaview Restaurant. We loved the the Venue and we had an amazing and Happy young lady serve us, her name Ella. Definitely recommend a visit for good drinks and cuisine.

We came for pre dinner drink, there was a great atmosphere, relaxed but also vibrant! Staff were ‘on it’ clearing tables and ready to serve as we approached the bar. Have been again since and will continue to pop in.

A really lovely bar and restaurant with a lively pleasant atmosphere. The food was nice but we didn’t understand why our main courses were served on a wooden board as opposed to a plate! Plates are much nicer and easier to eat off.

Since refurbishment and staff change the food and ambiance is really of an excellent standard. Well done to the owners this is a amazing and refreshing change to have such a lovely restaurant and pub nearby! Well worth the visit.

Went to Seaview restaurant for lunch we had pre-booked a table in the gardens that was ready when we arrived all Covid requirements were in place We had drinks and meals the menu was limited but the choices met our needs the food was good friendly helpful staff Well worth a visit.

Stopped in just for a beverage, but when we noted the meals coming out just had to order... Fantastic food at a fair price... Will be back. Gary

Great garden, very organised in terms of covid safety and they were very helpful in terms of adapting the menu for gluten free options (just ask at the bar and they can check with the kitchens)! There were 2 salads available as well as grilled sardines or grilled fish chips and mushy peas (no batter). The fish was delicious!

After our breezy valentines walk along from goring we arrived at the seaview to a warm welcome. We both chose the chicken ham and leek pie, sharing a starter of halloumi fries and olives. Very tasty generous portions with a nice side of veggies with the mains. Washed down by a lovely Malbec and pint of liquid gold for my husband perfect Needless to say we waddled back along the beach with full stomachs ! Will definitely be back .

Excellent roast beef and red wine to accompany it. Dogs welcome in the bar. Excellent service. Clean and well maintained facilities with a wide range on the menu including vegetarian.

As a regular I’ve eaten in here heaps of times and am amazed when I read reviews regarding poor food and unfriendly staff. We personally always get a very warm welcome and once again had a cracking meal yesterday. I would recommend the Seaview to anyone especially for the price and portion size you get but more importantly the quality

Went for family meal, Food was awful, Staff were Miserable and Unwelcoming, Garden and Restaurant Eating area had dogs in and barking at each other. Never asked how food was or anything. Had worst bit of Fish ever, Would not Go back If FREE.

Good menu choices, and selection of drinks, in a large room and beer garden with plenty of tables. All great taste and quality.

I stayed in what is a very nice area with the hotel being in a great location. This is really the only plus point, apart from a friendly helpful barman, who was helpful regarding local restaurants as theirs was closed.The rooms, or certainly my one, are very dated , shabby and with creaking floors and landing, hence a poor nights sleep. To finish it off, a trickle of hot water resulting in a cold shower before I left. An update all round is required and I certainly won’t be returning.

Was so disappointed with this as a restaurant. Not only was the place itself very dark and dreary the staff and food also reflected this dingy atmosphere. Food was at best poor, served cold, bland tasting and small portions (in this case you wouldn’t want a big portion!!!) Staff all looked at you as if you were an annoyance being in the restaurant and I don’t think I saw anyone behind the bar smile once! The restaurant was overrun with dogs which was very unhygienic whilst trying to eat!!! Very rude waitress (and older woman) who didn’t ask how our meal was even though when collecting our plates over half the meal was left on them. My dad simply said to her “we didn’t enjoy that too much” she then replied “well clearly” and continued to crash about with our plates!! The worst food and service I have ever experienced!!

After Visiting for fathers day, It was Extremely Disappointing three of us had the worst Sole meal ever full of Bones, Uncooked and Cold with a Sad Vedge side plate between Two. All in All the service was Poor and The waitress was Rude, Never asked any Information or How the food was. Avoid! Would never go again and Certainly Would Not recommend .

We took our mothers for a lunch a week ago and have to say the food was dreadful. Roast Lamb was stringy, Yorkshire pudding hard and inedible, as were roast potatoes. Battered fish was really unpleasant. This pub has had problems with their food in the past year or so but recently thought they had made improvements. Whoever owns/manages this pub needs to check what is coming out of their kitchen.

First class roast dinner, absolutely delicious couldn’t fault it at all. Good quality food and although very busy inside and outside the service was good - would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Well done The Seaview Hotel!

Located a stone's throw from the beach in an isolated position in the village. Great atmosphere, dog friendly, good food.

We were taken here by our Aunt and Uncle. Warm welcome, friendly staff. Food was very pleasant and no complaints. Will be back.

Having been to this pub a couple of times before and been impressed, we called in on Sunday after a walk with the dogs. As the dogs were wet, we sat outside and went in to order some drinks and a few bowls of chips.

I used to live down the road from this pub & visited often with my friend & our dogs. Was worried when Jackie left but I must say the pub has got even better. It’s nice to see they have spent some money on improving the inside.

I’ve been here lots of times... sometimes to eat with friends and family and sometimes by myself for a quiet pint. I’ve never been disappointed with either and I’ve also really enjoyed the live music nights and quiz nights. Don’t be afraid to start conversations with the bar staff or others at the bar - it can be hard work to begin with if they are the shy ones but they are all lovely and friendly when you get to know them.

Had a really good meal, steak and ale suet pie have not had for years and it was delicious and the staff very good. My reservation is although dogs were not in the restaurant part they were in the bar where people were eating, mind you never seen so many dogs in any area, but the food was good

I have eaten here on several occasions over the past year - but sadly the food is always very mediocre. They have a good garden area which is only a stone's throw from the beach and its a very nice place just to have a drink. Shame that the staff is so unfriendly and the food menu very dull. Could be a wonderful venue with a bit of imagination.

We visited for Sunday lunch and whilst the food is ok the lady that owns this establishment needs a lesson in customer Service. We order starter and drinks. When we ask for a bottle of wine at kitchen because there was no one behind the bar. We were told "just go to the bar and order". Then they brought out our main and we asked for a replacement come for our child and was told again. No you have to go to the bar even though my food would be getting cold while I had to wait. If I am sitting in a restaurant and spending money is it too much to ask for a drink When they weren't even thst busy?

I don’t often write reviews but just had to say what a great lunch we had. I saw a few bad reviews here but they bear no resemblance to my experience! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great service and delicious food! No complaints at all. Will definitely come back!

Me my wife and our doggies love the Seaview. The food is always outstanding and the service from all the staff is always first class. This a great pub in our wonderful village and I would highly recommend to anyone

Not the best meal on this occasion, music in the restaurant too loud and toilets in an unclean condition, lacking in TLC.

We’ve been to this place a few times and the food never failed to delight us. It was a little busy today and the service took a little longer than before but the food is definitely worth waiting for. The menu is pretty basic but the portions are generous. Try the Chicken Burger with French fries ... the bun is well toasted, the chicken grilled perfectly and the salad dressing is just scrumilicious! Don’t forget the apple and peach crumble - so delicious. We had Lamb Suet Pudding and Ham, egg and chips too. All good and tasty

Food very mediocre and staff the worst I have experienced anywhere - very rude and disinterested in their customers, felt as though they were doing us a favour. Could be the perfect local restaurant but needs to change its staff!! Very disappointing. You have to order food and drinks at the bar, no waitresss to take your order - crazy......

This is a well run village pub that serves good food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and professional. Bonus is the location, a minute walk from the sea and beach.

Ate here for the first time today and will certainly be returning. The Sunday roast is great value and it was lovely to find somewhere serving a decent chilli con carne and not the standard micro one you get everywhere else.

Stayed here for a family visit and pitched in the field with other caravans but stayed in the hotel for one night.LOvely room and food was great

My parents booked for 8 elderly friends. Female staff who served them was disinterested, food was average, deserts disappointing,poor choices. Insisted elderly / infirm customers went to bar to look at desert menu instead of bringing 3 choices to the table. insisted we all paid separately at the bar. Not a smile or friendly service. Would not recommend.!

I moved to Rustington 18 mouths ago. When family or friends come to visit I always take them to the seaview, because I like their food, and it is a nice walk along the beach from my home. My son and daughter-in-law was over from Australia, my brother was over from Texas USA. So on there last day we booked the seaview for our last lunch before they went home. When we arrived we got a drink and sat outside. The manger came out and said to my son that she would not be seving him anymore today, because he had abused a member of staff. He said what when I order a drink, she said no when you was out on your bike this morming and my staff was off duty. We explained to her that he dose not have a bike he is on holiday from Australia staying with me, and that he was playing tennis this morning and had then come to the seaview. Not once did she question him to find out where he was that morning just accused him. I went in the bar to pay for our drink to then leave. I said to the bar staff that my son dose not have a bike and was with me all morning, and the bar staff that,was accusing him said it looks like him, I explained again why it was not him but she was not having it. The manager came back in the bar I said she should apologise to my son. We went outside she said to my son, I have been told I have to apologise to you, but it looked like you. Then we left, as we left we heard the group on the next table say lets go you can't treat people like that. They ruined my last meal before my family went back home. This was such a shame as I also us this pub for quiz night and other event with local friend Yvonne Sadler

I just love this place, great food and service and lovely staff.I was in the garden when the other reviews happens but found the people sat in the garden involved to be rude and the language used by them was not appropriate for a family place especially with my young kids around and towards the staff. I mentioned this to management upon leaving and found them to be lovely and professional. Just unfortunate but still one of my fav places and will continue to come each year!

My husband and I were there for a family meal before we head back to Australia, while having a few drinks prior to having lunch the manager came over to us and accused my husband of being on a bile an abusing a member of staff earlier that morning. She did not question us she just accused my husband and informed that he had to leave, we informed that my husband does not own a bike and that he is not the type of person of abuse anyone. She then left to 'gain clarification' from the bar staff member, she then came out again and stated that my husband looks like the man who abused the staff member. We were not offered an apology at all!!! This was a total disgrace of service, firstly my husband got wrongly accused then he was not apologised to. My mother in law WAS a regular customer however now will never return. I will be telling this story to all locals.

I had this hotel booked.... Checked booking mid week... All seemed OK! Myself, partner an 3 month old were on our way on Saturday morning - looking forward to seeing frail parents; to receive a phone call from a less than compassionate lady to cancel booking... As apparently there was a boooking error... The error was identified Friday night - however we were told at 9am on route... No alternative... No apology... Nothing... We had to pay £198 in the nearest Premier Inn... Even though the lady said she'd help find alternative... Nothing... My weekend was ruined... Seriously out of pocket... Just because 'admin error' and 'I'm sorry'... Doesn't help when on route with a screaming 3 month old... Avoid venue at all costs... Selfish!!!!

Ate here Saturday night. Good choice of food. Halloumi burger was beautifully presented. Desserts excellent value. Huge portion of apple and blackberry pie. Will definitely return.

We live local so do have lunch here quite often. Very friendly easy going staff always happy to help. The food is great, plenty of it and hot. If I had to make one little gripe it would be limited veggie meals. last visit they kindly made a cheese omelette for me with chips!

An old pub but up to date food and drink. We popped in for an evening snack and found it very welcoming. Good menu and great range of beers. Better yet, we found that Wednesday was Pub Quiz night! Very friendly atmosphere and good fun.

Taken by friends on a day visit with our dog. Lovely simple menu and delicious steak and kidney puddings with veg. Super varieties of puddings. Dog friendly too which was a bonus for us. Would highly recommend. Parking could be a problem if busy, but we managed to get parking on a street not far away.

Popped in for a light Sunday lunch and a beer. We shared the seafood platter which was excellent plenty enough food for the 2 of us and was really well presented. Will definitely be going back to try some other dishes

Just right for for the family on Holiday or the locals who want a no frills pub lunch. A nicely decorated restaurant with a bar attached. Dogs are welcome, with a lovely garden for the fresh air dinner.

We ate here last night and were really impressed. I have an awkward diet and they basically cooked my dish from scratch for me eliminating the issue. So I could eat a lovely dish without compromising. The food was scrumptious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We left there feeling full and happy. We will definatly be going back there without a doubt.

Sadly, I must report significant deterioration in this previously excellent pub, particulalry sad as it was our local!. The beers are still OK, but that's as far as it goes. Bar service is unfriendly, sometimes even surly.

Family lunch out and there were 7 of us. Firstly no welcome when we walked in and no guidance if it was order at the bar or table service. Transpires if you are eating in the garden you have to pay there and then, you can leave a card for a tab but not inspiring a good relationship as the customer. Visited just after 1pm and told no chicken, changed our order and I ordered the linguine. Food finally arrived and it was tasteless and bland; 1 of our party ordered gammon and got a couple of slices of cold ham, onion rings were dripping in oil and tasted of old oil. Cherry on the cake was the waitress in heavy make up, had all the time in the world for her regulars, we were sitting in the garden and I didn't have a spoon, I kindly asked her when returning to the bar could she bring out a spoon for me. Told the cutlery was self serve by the bar. This is a competitive market and I understand only recently taken over, won't be returning. This type of business typically works on service and quality of food as their platform. Not this one.
