I have been to afternoon tea several times including Christmas afternoon tea last year and have previously been delighted but this Christmas have been very disappointed with the selection of sandwiches (very little taste & unexciting) plus on our first visit this Christmas the scones were dry. However, the cakes were delicious . I am all for experimenting with different flavours, but someone needs to be make sure they work before presenting to the customer. It would be a shame to lose your clientele just for the sake of a sandwich.

This hotel is in a most beautiful setting and surorunded by the Hampshire countryside. I attended a wedding here recently and was most impressed by the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. The place was run like a finely-tuned Ferrari, capable of operating smoothly and accelerating at speed, without ever presenting a hint of hesitation. The food was of very high quality and presented artistically. Despite serving over 180 guests, table service was smooth - almost effortless - and glasses were not left empty. The bar staff were veritable artists at mixing cocktails and producing the most incredible concoctions. It was mesmerising just watching them display their skills. Price becomes immaterial when discussing an establishment of such quality.

The environment of the restaurant is pleasant but I would prefer a less big space. A very big open space creates an atmosphere of mass dinning. A redecoration that could create smaller connecting spaces would be more cosy and ambient. The food had contradictions: the sole fish was fresh, well cooked and huge! On the contrary the hamburger was tasteless and "dull" without something to uplift it's taste. The service very polite, but in a way "absent" , for example they were asking frequently if we need anything without noticing the obviously such as the lack of salt and pepper on the table which should had to be there from the beginning. Haris, the waiter that was in duty in breakfast stand out, he was polite as all the staff but on top he was very "present" and helpful.

Restaurant service is awful and slow. I asked for some nice cheese selection like goat and sheep milk , they brought me after one hour! Cheap cheese was looking like from Tesco. Four seasons Restaurant doesn’t have cheese trolley. Restaurant looks like Cheap caffe in bed and breakfast , with no table clothes. Service is less then slow and food wasn’t eatable. To bring just steamed broccoli took over one hour. Very disappointing experience! It’s not what we expect from 4 Seasons Hotel.

Amazing choices and really good food. They say it is locally sourced, and that was the main reason we went. It would have been nice to know where exactly it all came from. Either with a little sign next to the specific food, the buffet or with a little stall with more information. We missed that. Service was very good. Service charge already added to the bill in the end.

This was a birthday treat from my daughter and, although the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, afternoon tea was served in the library. We had comfortable armchairs by a window and, although the table was small, the staff managed to squeeze what was necessary onto it. There were four finger sandwiches each (my daughter had a veggie selection) and the fillings were nice. The scones with home made preserves and cream were delicious and the little cakes very indulgent. I was a little disappointed with the tea selection (no fruit teas) but the Earl Gray was good. My daughter was disappointed at the end as something was promised for my 'special' birthday but not delivered? The view we had was beautiful but I have had better afternoon teas elsewhere.

We enjoyed Sunday Lunch here and it was just fantastic, from the service to the food, to the setting. The choice of food is amazing, especially the seafood to start with. The carvery is great, you can refill your plate as many times as you want and the choice of puddings was awesome. It's child friendly, with colouring in books, children friendly buffet etc. Would I come back, oh yes!!!!!!

Having fell in love with this place a few years ago, I decided that for a birthday treat we'd try the Sunday lunch after recommendation. As ever the service and staff were impeccable, We were given a table at the window as requested and each served with a complimentary glass of champagne. The starters were my favourite, with dishes to please every palate and so many to choose from, then there was a carvery of several meats of good quality accompanied by various vegetable dishes. The dessert trolleys were loaded with so many different delights and then if you could squeeze any more in!! there was an array of cheeses etc.. All beautifully presented and replenished. If you want an indulgent Sunday lunch, in stunning surroundings then this is very worth while paying a visit.

We had a lovely evening meal at the Seasons. The service from Simon and Carla was excellent. The wine recommended by the sommelier was superb, the Sky Valley Sauvignon Blanc and the Fos Rioja Reserva were delightful accompaniments to our meal. The pick of the starters was the salmon; The main courses were universally excellent. We had the lamb, the saffron risotto with osso bucco, the chicken, the sea bass and the cod. Special mentions go to the desserts, it is well worth waiting for the souffle and for the banoffee lovers out there look no further than the banoffee twist. This was our first visit to Seasons and the quality of service is a cut above that in the Bistro. We have eaten at the Bistro before and had an experience which is not in keeping the overall quality of The Four Seasons and the Seasons restaurant. This was very much the standard of service we have come to expect and enjoy from them.

We have always loved this hotel and we recently visited Seasons restaurant, as a family, for a birthday treat. It was a Sunday so we had the Farmers Market lunch, and having had this before, we were all really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we left a little disappointed feeling that it was not up to the standards that we had previously enjoyed. We felt that they had lowered the standards of the ingredients and offering whilst increasing the price - by the time you add the service its just under £70 a head for what is effectively a good carvery lunch! There is an enormous selection of wines on offer and we were able to pick a white and a red that everyone enjoyed. The surroundings are fantastic and the service was Ok, but we did not feel that we had received value for money whereas this has never been in question on previous visits. When you charge these types of prices you need to be able to deliver value or people leave disappointed.

Its been a year since we last visited and were disappointed with the food. Wow they have sorted things out and we had both a wonderful creative meal and lovely service. I had the lamb which was succulent and my wife had the sea bass filets which sounded boring, but were served with delicious vegetables and sauces. The deserts were to die for. It was our wedding anniversary, and they had even strewn the table with red rose petals. It is expensive but was worth the price.

We've been to this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the lovely Sunday lunches here. The staff were lovely and attentive and we love the variety in the starters and desserts.Unfortunately, this time we found the starters not as well prepared as before. But the real let down was the main. The server plonked a huge clump of pork on my plate instead of serving nicely sliced pieces and when I asked for it, he served a miserly piece. It was dry and a bit over done. My husband asked for beef and had a rare steak placed on his plate. We've had better food here before and hope this is just a blip.

We currently have family staying at the hotel so of course we had to try out the restaurants. As expected, the host Simon and the knowledgable team were on hand to help us.The drinks came promptly after ordering and we began to peruse the menu. At first; we were shocked to see a choice of three starters and only three main courses. The restaurant must employ a very skilled and confident back of house team to only offer three dishes; and I'm glad that is all they offer as the attention to detail was second to none. The dishes were absolutely tremendous! There was no feeling of being underwhelmed by the food that was served and I whole heartedly can say, hats off to the chef. I would never dream of eating three whole courses in an ordinary restaurant. However, how could I not take advantage of the exquisite food available! Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented and you could see the team fully appreciating the dishes they are serving.Avert reasonable price for a superb experience!

a lovely setting but despite the hype the food did not live up to expectations.............perhaps so few people in the room made it seem worse as the place lacked any atmosphere. The wine list could be improved [especially when it comes to Argentinian Malbecs] the sommelier was excellent so perhaps the management should give him more responsibilities with choosing the wines. The food perhaps too little and too clever?

I have eaten quite a few times at the Seasons and it has always been excellent. There is a varied menu and the wine card is really good. The service is in keeping with 5 star hotel in which it is located, without being intimidating. The location is wonderful, set in it's own grounds in the middle of the Hampshire countryside. My only slighly negative comment is the decor. In my opinion the modern decore of the restaurant does not match the wonderful old stately home and country location, but that is only my opion. What I also find really great are the occasional grill nights that take place either on the terrace outside or in the corridor (sounds odd, but it is really quite a nice location).

A delightful restaurant, offering a superb range of dishes, all served by well mannered, highly competent and extremely friendly staff. The Sommelier was even extremely kind and helpful concerning a particular bottle of our own 'fine' vintage champagne, that we had been looking forward to enjoying earlier ! ;-) Rather than a 'block ban' we were delighted to see this Restaurant adopt a far more 'common sense' approach to accepting well behaved children for dinner. Wine is a little on the expensive side but then, this restaurant is located within a Five Star hotel.Overall, a very pleasant dining experience in a very nicely appointed restaurant, made to feel very welcome with several much appreciated, special, personal touches - and not forgetting a simply Wonderful Birthday cake !

The Seasons Restaurant is like the curates egg. It is good in parts. Our first exposure was a dinner for 2 which was very enjoyable. The wine was excellent and my partner's vegetarian dish of a suet pudding received many comments of approval. My beef was excellently cooked and served. I wasn't asked how I wanted it I assume chef will cook as he/she considers appropriate. My scallops were elegantly served on tasted delicious. They were cooked to perfection. We completed with a shared cheese board. We were impressed with the knowledge of the Sommelier and his knowledge of the subject and the products he had on the wine list.Sunday we had 3 friends join us for the Farmer's Market Buffet. It was very extensive and included a glass of Champagne. There was a very good choice of starters. For vegetarian and fish eaters the hot choice seemed quite limited. The apple sauce and stuffing balls were displayed on a different table to the meats and one of our number struggled to find them. As we had birthday cake we didn't really get to enjoy deserts as by the time we had talked and eaten the buffet was being packed away. There was no warning that we had a few minutes left if we wanted to get some desert. One of the great things about Four Seasons Hotels is the quality and offering at breakfast time. The breakfast here was quite disappointing. There was no egg chef on Monday morning just hotel scrambled eggs that most frequent travellers tend to avoid. There was no offering of kippers, kedgereee and omlettes that the hotel website talks about. We had no glasses on our table and we were not offered any juices. My partner is vegetarian and the options of things to eat was very limited. The breakfast team did not seem to be very attentive. In other Four Seasons we had had much, much better. Sadly with the isolation of the hotel there is not a realistic alternative.

The only drawback, was the other guest, some of whom had absolutely no consideration for others. We chose the Sunday buffet for a special meal with our children and grandchildren. The food was of excellent quality, very varied and beautifully presented. The separate kids' buffet was a really nice touch. The dessert tables were massive, full of delightful treats. The grandchildren enjoyed the ice cream and sweetie stalls, and afterwards they were able to run around on the lawns outside the French windows: they had already loved letting off steam in the adventure playground near the car park when we arrived. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Sally the pianist added a lot to the ambience: she happily played all our requests expertly without being too obtrusive for guests at other tables. The atmosphere was much calmer than one might expect from a busy buffet, and that was largely because there were plenty of staff working very hard but discreetly. The basic price for the buffet was very good value but extras like tea and soft drinks were a bit pricey - only a small niggle when everything was so good.

We booked to go as a family for the Farmers Market Sunday lunch and had high expectations. Unfortunately those expectations were shattered very soon after being seated. We were pretty much left to our own devices in that we weren't welcomed by our waitress/waiter, not offered wine (we had to ask having waited 30 mins and finished our starter) and we were unimpressed by the overall service we received, very lacklustre. However the food was excellent, a great selection, continuously topped up whilst we were there and appeared to be good quality. We did comment however though that the produce could have been from anywhere, in that there was nothing to say where the food had been sourced from locally. Only the cheeses were marked with "distance travelled". Would we go back, yes definitely for the food, the service would have to significantly improve though. For a Four Seasons it was a huge disappointment.

My langoustines were superb; my sole had certainly been under the lights too long. All in all we could have had more or less the same quality at a third of the price at a Brasserie Blanc. There was a good guitarist on that night if you like that sort of thing. One of his tunes was Fleetwood Mac’s 'Never going back again'. Sums it up for me.

What a wonderful evening. The food, the service, the location & atmosphere were absolutely impeccable. From the moment the valet welcomed us to the attentive staff in the Seasons restaurant & the lounge bar we felt that nothing was too much to ask. My starter of calamari & my wife's beef carpaccio were splendid. The respective lobster & (no ordinary) bacon cheese burger were perfectly complimented by the stir fried chilli brocolettes & the moreish creamed spinach. The cheese & biscuits & selection of Hampshire berry deserts followed by tea, coffee & petit fours in the fire lit lounge were the ultimate ending to a truly superb experience. Having eaten at other Four Seasons I can honestly say that the Hampshire certainly maintains & exceeds the high standards you would expect. Fantastic value for money & we will definitely be returning.

We had a double birthday lunch in the Seasons restaurant in this excellent hotel. Very good buffet-style, locally produced lunch with a salad station, soup, pie and veg station, selection of roasts station, cheese station and a really good dessert station. One of our party ordered a fish main course and it was prepared separately to order. Service matched the hotel style and was attentive and unobtrusive. The wine list was comprehensive and fairly expensive. Maybe the included champagne and one glass would have sufficed - but then it was a birthday celebration! We had a tour of the spa after lunch so maybe it will be the whole package next time. A really nice experience and easy to get to from south-west London.

Good seasonal menu choice, loved the game casserole. Treacle tart reminded me of my Granny's. Cosy fire and friendly service. We had a nice New Zealand white, draught Aspalls and alcohol free Guinness.
