Seamoors Wine and Food Bar in Eastbourne

Ordered two lattes, one cappuccino, one pot of tea, two tea cakes, two croissants. Served one latte, one cappuccino, one pot of tea (no milk), one tea cake, one croissant. When I asked about it, was told “we’re busy”. “You want milk with your tea?” As it turned out the order had gone through wrong so I hadn’t paid for the missing items. Told them not to bother as there was “a long wait for food”! Oh and no jam with either cake. Looking at previous reviews we won’t be using the toilets.

Drink here regularly when visiting family in the harbour,Guinness is delish,girls behind the bar always sweet and kind.The door is annoying and slams with people constantly coming in and out to vape.Fix the door ffs,other than that great spot.

Still a dump ! The sticky tables and gloomy atmosphere are still as good as ever. Not to mention the smelly toilets. Avoid

Very disappointed with this place. We queued for 25 minutes to give our order as there was only only girl serving food and taking orders and money. The poor girl was doing her very best but there were no other staff! We ordered smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and i can only say that the sandwich was thrown together. The bread was actually really nice but there was at least an inch all round the inside of the sandwich with nothing on it. Then there was a scraping of cream cheese in the middle and a lump of smoked salmon on top. It was awful. The toilets weren't very clean but with no staff it wasn't surprising. Won't be going back.

Grotty little bar. Thankfully we were only there for a drink- the toilets were filthy- wouldn’t like to eat there if that’s the standard of cleanliness… Avoid!

Come to Seamors if you want a dark and dingy atmosphere. Smelly toilets with no lock on the cubicle door. Sticky table tops. A long wait at the bar to be served by a miserable bar maid !!!! I have never been brave enough to try the food !!!

Poor staff, poor service, undrinkable coffee and greasy food slopped on the plate. Lower prices than competition but would not return here again even if it was free.

Just had a lovely lunch today with my husband, ordered Fish and chips and a Dressed crab salad with prawns. Both were delicious! The batter on the fish was light and crispy, not greasy at all. The young lady who served us was friendly and helpful and the food came out quite quickly. We were very impressed!

I came here a few weeks ago with my family on a sunny afternoon the first weekend it could re open . The staff were lovely and dealt with how busy it was well . Yummy food too , thanks

Since the refit and new menu I won’t be eating here in a while. This was my local place for coffee in the morning and lunch too but since the restyle the food has taken a turn for the worst.

With this place you know what you are getting - well cooked basic food, great value drinks and in summer a good location for sitting outside. If you are looking for a reliable basic bar, then this is an excellent choice

Visita aleatoria en un día soleado. Menú parecía bien para el almuerzo y refrescos. Pedimos en el bar, la camarera fue cortés y revisó el orden cuidadosamente. Nos sentamos al sol con vista al puerto deportivo. La comida llegó bastante rápido, nuevamente muy cortés: hamburguesa, papas fritas y ensalada y sándwich de gambas y cangrejo. Ambas porciones generosas y absolutamente bien por el precio, mejor que muchos otros en la zona.Al final entró y me di cuenta de que estaba bastante desaliñado. ¡Miré el estado del pasillo del retrete y las puertas sucias y lo pensé mejor! Espero que la higiene de los alimentos esté bien. . . . . después del evento y ahora mirando algunas otras críticas.

Me encanta el desayuno aquí. Es mucho más barato que el otro negocio de al lado. Es un buen desayuno abundante y bien preparado con huevo, dos salchichas, dos tocino, tomates, hash brown, champiñones y tostadas. Además, el té es genial, una taza de té fuerte y decente. No voy a ningún otro lugar de quiero un buen desayuno a un precio excelente.

He visitado Seamoors un par de veces. Primera vez aquí y última vez desayunando aquí.El mal servicio, las salchichas y el hash brown frito no piden tomates. Tenían que ser de valor Tesco. Lata de tomates rojos enlatados que hizo que la tostada se mojara.No vale la pena 4: 50 debería haber pagado un par de libras adicionales e ir a la cafetería de al lado o al cosechador.

Qué desperdicio de una ubicación privilegiada. Parece una sala de almacenamiento. El tema parece ser "lo que sea la basura que deja la marea en la playa", huele a grasa y el suelo y las mesas están llenos de grasa. Esos son los mejores puntos. El personal es terriblemente grosero, la clientela parece ser extra de crimewatch y cada mala variación de cerveza o cerveza estaba apagada o era un recuerdo lejano. Quite mediocre. Burger with a tonne of chips and some breaded chicken in a wrap with another tonne of chips plus pint of beer and pint of cider £21 so not expensive but the food is very plain and I wouldn't go back for more. Orders for food and drink are taken at the bar and bought to the table. The waitress was very pleasant but other than that I couldn't really recommend it.

Terrible service. Terrible food. Staff very rude and abrupt. When asking for the owner so that I can raise my concerns I was met with a very rude unpleasant man who talked over me and even swore at me. My family and I will never visit this place again. The hygiene is awful and the toilets are filthy and stink

Cheap and not very cheerful. Avoid at all costs. This is really a disgrace on such a lovely harbour. Staff are rude and food poor.

Visite aquí regularmente y no puede pensar por qué otros pagan los precios en otro lugar. Sí, entiendo que es un bar y que quizás no quieras sentarte dentro. , pero afuera está afuera cuando hace buen tiempo y no pagas una prima por nada.

Went for lunch today after being here a few times for a beer! I will stick to just having a drink here, food not great but glad I tried it! Very friendly customers! Will be returning if only for a drink!

Just walked in and the bar smells like a cheap fish shop. Very poor hygiene and toilets are discussing

Very friendly with a good selection of ales and was given a warm welcome, not much else you can say about this place other than I will be back.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The ingredients were of good quality apart from the fact MARGERINE was used on the toast....my pet hate.

Well done to the lady who was beavering away making all the food, she did a good job we all enjoyed our meals, mussles, burger, dressed crab and whitebait. Its a bit on the small size, but the service was promt and the food was good. No complaints from our party.

I live in Eastbourne and have started to frequent this bar regularly. Beer prices are good value and food is excellent. The previous bad reviews are misleading. This is a bar serving good food not a restaurant . If you want a restaurant eat at Pablos opposite. If you want a pub lunch eat and drink at Seamoors

We ordered Moules Mariniere, and what arrived was the worst seafood meal we have ever had. At least 1/4 of the mussels were not open, ie dead, and the rest had an odd texture. No idea how old they were...and their sauce closely resembled dishwater, it tasted awful.

All day breakfast tasted and looked as if it had been cooked in old engine oil. Not cheap at £4.50. Should have been tasty but greasy and economy sausages, bacon and beans used. My Boyfriend had the 'house speciality' of crab and prawn sandwich. The bread was clearly yesterdays, there were 7 tiny prawns and what can only be described as brown crab paste therein. Asda do a prawn sandwich with more fi!lling and at half the price of this one which again was overpriced at £4.50.

No podía comer y cuando la camarera nos preguntó si estaba bien le dije no era increíblemente grasos dijo 'ah, pero eso es lo que quieren no es'. En realidad no er!

We had a long walk along the seafront on a sunny Sunday morning with some friends and decided to have something to eat at Seamoors as a reward.A great choice. Two of us had the fresh crab and prawn salad, another had salmon fishcakes whilst another had the mussels (1kg). Everything was freshly prepared/cooked and delicious. OK there was a wait for our food to be served but there were loads of customers. Extremely reasonably priced, particularly for the size of portion served.Please be aware there is only a small kitchen but the chef worked extremely hard to serve the food as quickly as possible. Definitely worth the wait.The beer was nice, as was the jug of Pimms, which were enjoyed as we sat in the sunshine.It made a change to eat here, rather than just have our customary cup of coffee. Will definitely return again.

I've been a number of times and sometimes eat here. Food has always been good as has the service plus reasonably priced. Was so disappointed to order a large glass of wine which tasted like it was straight from the tap! I queried it and paid for another glass from a different half empty bottle from the fridge which was exactly the same! Even a non wine drinker I was with took a very large swig and said it doesn't taste like wine! Such a shame as I've visited a number of times and have always had the same drink but never experienced this before!.........I would advise anyone in future to buy an unopened bottle of wine instead of by the glass. I don't know a lot but I certainly know my wine and don't know if I just got two duff glasses but for me, a lesson learned.......

This is a nice bar at the Waterfront complex in Eastbourne (go east as far as you can!)Only had beer and tea but the room was spacious and comfortable. It also has a sheltered seating area outside for warmer weather.

do places like this still exist? Walking through the Waterfront, we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Harvesters aren't our thing, so we decided to give this little place a chance. What a mistake! Should of walked as soon as the person, sat at the bar in a hoodie, went behind the bar to cook our meal. It was awful. I have been told that should I ever take my partner back in there, I will be divorced.

Seamoors has a lovely outside seating area where we sat with our dogs overlooking the harbour. It was a sunny day so not too cold sitting outside in the middle of winter. The food was reasonably priced and average quality. However we think that the lunch menu at Gringos offers better value for eating. Seamoors is more of a bar which offers good value drinks so in future we'll probably just visit for hot drinks.

Have been all year round. Can be a hit eg generous full English breakfast on a cold winter's morning. Also they do the cheapest capuccinos in the Harbour. But can definitely also be a miss eg when the hardened drinkers arrive. So I'm a fan, but also definitely not a fan. Don't take your elderly relative in there after midday! But do sit them outside when it's reasonably quiet and the food can be very decent for a much fairer price than eg Seasons

Always enjoy a pint in here. Was served by a very pleasant young lady who smiled and was very courteous. The toilets have been spruced up nicely too. Juke box was playing in the back ground with some fine tunes on. Altogether a great place for a pint.

Had the feeling of 'Cheers'. Cosy time had. Yeah the toilets are not gastro standard and the seats are not cushioned, but you know what? Who cares! Have no expectations!! Seamoors is a proper bar and can image in the height of summer, you'd get the feeing of being abroad.. It's clean and the atmosphere was friendly. The barmaid was lovely very pleasant, smiley and helpful...what more do ya want?? Will deffo visit again, looking forward to getting the jukebox going

I have been here a few times mainly for a drink and to watch live football. Not sure when they are doing food sometimes, bit hit and miss. The food I have had was fine. Ok for a water front view pint, but could be a lot better.

The most delicious latte! It made a nice change for me to visit Sovereign Harbour and I will come again.

How you can make this establishment any worse is beyond me. It has a prime position on the waterfront and obviously doesn't need to try too hard to attract business.Rude service, the worst coffee, all served in filthy conditions. Avoid, there are much nicer places nearby.

A friendly pub serving a little food in the midst of the many eateries on Waterfront.A veritable haven of , relative, normality. I've been here a few times in the past and recently moved so this is now my local - an added bonus to the move!

Just moved down to Eastbourne and was looking for a local spot to make a regular. Seamoors looked like it might fit the bill. Asked the young woman server for a menu. She ignored me. Asked her again and she grudgingly brought one over. Went inside and ordered sandwiches at the bar. In return I was handed a wooden spoon with what looked like the number 9 on it. Server came out with the sandwiches and said they were for table 6. Realizing she had probably read the number upside down I showed her my spoon. She glared at me and walked round the whole restaurant looking for number 6. Having been unable to find it, she realized that I was right and the sandwiches were probably meant for me. She came back to the table and literally threw the plates down causing even fellow customers nearby to comment on her rudeness. After lunch I went into the restaurant to report the incident to the manager. Spoke to an older grey haired man in the kitchen area who said he was the manager. I relayed the incident to him because I thought he would want to know about the bad attitude of his wait staff. His response: "Does it look like there's anyone in here who gives a damn?" Won't be going there again.

Well, dear reader, I might be the only one to judge a restaurant by the standards of their rest rooms, but this one really is below standard... And it's not the only grudge. The tables are sticky to the touch and not balanced well, so cutting any food on it is a minor challenge. The service ( what service, we ask ourselves...) leaves one feeling that it's the staff members who do us a favour by bringing food out... Food is cheap, but that should not mean that therefore it could not be served with a hint of politeness. There is an ASDA nearby, where one can buy better food and sit somewhere in the nearby, lovingly arranged outside area to it, and ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. Never, ever, again will I darken Seamoor's door. They will see me no more ( see what I've done there?)

It looked a bit delapidated compared to some of the other eateries on the marina, but we had a dressed crab and prawn salad for £8.95 which was excellent, and the beer and wine were reasonably priced too- would recommend

Good place to have a few drinks in the summer it's nice to sit outside. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. Good range of beers and ciders.

Wanted some food and a drink after a long walk on a hot day. We went into two other establishments within spitting distance and were ignored so we upped and found Seamoors. We instantly served with our drinks by very polite staff so we both ordered a burger and chips off the menu. The burger was delicious and the chips hand cut not like many establishments nowadays. We paid including our drinks with a tip just £26. It was a bargain.

So barmaid was polite, salad came quickly as did crab sandwich so far ok. I ordered scampi which took 25 minutes and whilst being cooked the 'chef' was wearing a vest top dangly earrings and no hat or hair net and enjoying the food of the plates of customers food while cooking and proceeded to wipe her hands on her jeans and continue. She did this continuously throughout the time we were there by which point I decided my food was looking really good and I can't wait to go back next week (sarcasm) and sit next to the dog who was not a blind dog was sat in a chair on the next table! Unfortunately we will not see you there !

This is a good bar with good food great service reasonable prices with a good atmosphere......best in the Harbour by fare and Bruce loves it!

We come to this pub a lot for drinks and we also have started coming here for food. The food is always freshly cooked to order is not expensive and is a good variety.

This is a good but small bar that shows all the football ,the food is of a good standard and fairly cheap.Well worth popping in while walking the dog and it is less busy during the evenings

This is a bar set up in what is basically a shop unit. It is not unlike continental bars as you walk in and feels quite relaxed. According to a sign in the window it has scored a 4 for food hygene, however, in retrospect I am glad we did not eat here. At the furthest end of the bar is the food and hot drink preperation area. Opposite and in close proximity to it are the toilets which are like the worst public toilets you can imagine. In the gents are 2 urinals, both blocked with large stagnent pools of urine on the floor beneath. It is just about possible to step over these into the single trap whereupon you find similarly unkept and heavily soiled pedestal.A regular customer commented to me that "they are always like this, it's the only thing wrong with place" which begged the question 'why keep coming back here?'Our party left immediately which is Seamoors loss as we had planned to stay the entire evening and to use the place during our entire stay at Sovereign Harbour.Eastbourne is a lovely place and we will return often but we will give Seamoors a very wide birth!

Basic service, nice crab, dirty tables and a lot of tat everywhere for sale. Probably nicer in the summer when you can sit out.

Popped in to have lunch which was quite disappointing. The mussels were overcooked and rubbery. The crab possibly had been frozen so was served incredibly cold.

good place for a quick snack rather than a meal - its a cross between a wine bar and a coffee bar - place is always clean and tidy - staff are always efficient and very friendly - a nice place to sit have a coffee or wine, have a chat or read the paper - they are doing some entertainment in the evenings but i have not been able to get there yet

Very friendly place with excellent food and reasonable prices. We had a party of four adults and two kids and ate / drank for under £50.They do a lovely dressed crab and I particularly like the whitebait - I am a sucker for whitebait. Really filling and I think it's only about £6.Nice inside or outside if the weather's good. It's true the gents could do with a scrub up, but i don't go to restaurants for their welfare facilities.Really friendly staff and good service, thoroughly recommended.

We were with my elderly parents and were quite tired after a full day in Eastbourne no one was sure what they wanted to eat, then we saw the menu at Seamoors Mum immediately decided on Plaice, the men on an all day breakfast and myself on the crab and prawn salad when the waitress said they had stopped serving food. Our disappointment was obvious and when we asked where else she would recommend for similar food, she said hold on a minute, she came back smiling and said the chef was able to cook for us. When the food came we were so pleased we'd been able to eat here my salad was large , attractively presented and had lots of crab and prawns, Mum's plaice was pan fried and fell of the bones. The men's fry ups were huge and again very well presented. The bill was extremely reasonable. It was the last night of our holiday but we hope to be back soon.

After having a superb dinner across the way at Pablos we decided to go to seamoors for coffees on arrival we were told sorry the coffee machine has been turned off!! Guessing the waiter knew we had all been drinking so could only offer alcohol I was charged 22.00 for two cokes & one beer!! One to miss unless you want to be ripped off!!!

Went here yesterday, 3rd day of Airbourne, so not terribly busy, although gathered it had been as staff looked completely worn out, time was about 3.30pm. Food good, the big let down though was according to my husband, the toilets needed a deep clean! I had a ploughmans, which most places came with butter, here it was some kind of spread, salad was a bit tired. Fully edible though.

Dirty glasses, slow service and worst of all the pint of prawns eaten at 3pm yesterday resulted in an evening of toilet hugging - will never go there again

Been here a number of times mainly in the evening. A mix of friendly elderly locals, younger ones relaxing playing card games for fun and local fisherman and staff from the harbour. Prompt and attentive staff with good knowledge of all the wine and beers on offer. It's a pub in the evening so come as you are and expect what you find in a typical evening session in any pub. Very reasonably priced beers and wine and two guest real ales, often locally sourced. Good honest food served daytime which I've heard good things about. Just give it a try..

Say here on a lovely day last week in the sun with a couple of drinks with friends and I just think this place does exactly what it says on the tin. Not the most glamorous place but cheap drinks, smiling staff and a nice view! Feel there's too much negativity about this place

Went there this afternoon had great food with my family, couldn't fault it in any way, very happy staff and a welcoming environment even though I was with my dog as it is dog friendly, read reviews before visiting and I had fantastic food and drink was a brilliant day

Visiting my father in Eastbourne, we stopped by Seamoor's just for a pint. The barman greeted us in a genuine and friendly manner, chatted to my dad whilst pouring two pints of Guinness. They were even topped with a clover drawn on! I wouldn't usually leave a review but I felt this place warranted a good one. Thanks again Seamoor's!

Nice sunny day so we sat outside. Taking our chances with smokers I realise, but I hadn't expected the whole experience to be tainted by the overpowering smell of overflowing ashtrays. Food ordered: 2x mussels with crusty bread, 2x prawn baguettes, 2x side orders of chips, plus drinks. We took our drinks to our table, then waited for our grub. And waited. And waited. We waited longer than the people who arrived after us and ordered food. And longer than the people who arrived after them. Etc. after 45 minutes my wife went and queried where our food was to be told we were next on the list. No idea why we had been pushed back and back down the 'list' but never mind. Ten minutes later the food arrived. The baguettes had been turned into sandwiches and there was only one portion of chips. And no crusty bread. This was put right by the stressed lad waiting on the tables, but when I said it wasn't particularly good, he just shrugged and walked away. He brought the missing items and referring to someone unknown inside said, "she doesn't know what's gone wrong today". I did, however, and it was our choice of restaurant. Which we won't be making again. To be fair, which I always try to be, the food was quite good, and keenly priced, so if you're only looking for that then you'll like it here. But if you want proper service on top, and no misgivings when your food eventually arrives, you might not like it if my experience today is a benchmark.

Good food, let down by the very very long wait for it and the fact that it was wrong and needed complaining about to have it arrive in the first place. Not good and I doubt I'll bother going back when there's such good service on offer right next door at Di Lieto's

The staff are very friendly, the service is quick and they serve good food. This is a great place to go on a nice day to relax in the out door seating area with a coffee. would 100% recommend.

I regularly eat here. The coffee is good. It's the only place I can get a soya latte.The staff are always friendly. The food is great - and very good value for money - and service is always with a smile and the odd bit of witty banter thrown in. A great atmosphere. Down to earth, honest British pub food and a good selection of beers - with a lovely view of Sovereign Harbour.

Decided to stop here for a coffee - first mistake. My girlfriend went to order two simple coffees and a pastry during which a trainee staff member was struggling to make the drinks. The chef/barman/acting manager decided not to help even though they were dead quiet. After 15 minutes we got a stale pastry and the most bitter coffee ever. I went inside and politely explained the problem (second mistake). The man (acting manager who was leaning around not doing much) was the rudest person I've ever met. He did not apologise or offer a solution he bluntly said "you can have a refund for the pastry definitely not for the coffees!" He didn't offer to remake the drinks - I'd have been happy with a simple "sorry let me remake those for you". He clearly hates his job and that rubs off on you as a customer. We will never EVER return and would advise others not too. The service was amateur, rude and unneccesary.

We often walk along the seafront from Holywell to Sovereign Harbour and our treat is stopping at this cafe for a coffee/drink/snack depending on our mood.It is family run, the staff are always friendly and cheerful, and the menu is varied enough to cater for a light snack or full meal. All reasonably priced.Sometimes, particularly when it's busy, there is a slight delay in getting your food but that's only because it's cooked to order.We normally prefer to sit at the tables outside to watch the world go by as we enjoy our "reward" before returning home on foot.

A good little pub in marina... Open nice and early for breakfasts... Good breakfast at a good price... Tables sticky and chairs need replacing, foam has gotten flat!... Staff very nice and always seem happy...

One pair of customers had two dogs with them, other pair of customers were foul mouthed, sticky tables, hurt back sitting in first chair as had no stuffing, second chair not much better (new chairs waiting to be unwrapped), loud MTV music channels on the tv, not for me!

Lovely little people watching place on the harbour,The food was top notch all homecooked,Would definitely visit again.

The food is good for the price you pay, fresh and tasty. Good for a lunch time snack or meal. They have a good range of beer at reasonable prices.

Went here for a drink with a few friends, the place was hot and smelt of BO. The tables and chairs were all sticky and felt like they had never been cleaned. Absolutely horrible place, a complete dive. Don't ever go there.

Visited today for breakfast and was not disappointed . Good food cooked to perfection, great fried bread too !

2nd visit to this bar and once again we were not disappointed.The service was excellent from both bar staff and chef.The all day breakfast was difficult to finish but with little perseverance, I managed it.The menu isn't too fussy but plenty of variety.if you are visiting the harbour, give it a try.

Seamoors is just the place for a light lunch at sensible prices. However, their vegetarian choices are very limited and therefore my wife had difficulty finding something to eat from the limited menu, so if you're a veggie, this is not the place for you. I had a crab and prawn salad with a pint of cider to wash it down and it was tasty and nicely presented at a very acceptable price. So if you're at The Waterfront and looking for an inexpensive lunch, give Seamoors a try.

Quick lunch out mid week. Amazingly busy though (lots of people spending their pensions). Nice basic attitude and good wholesome food. Amazingly good home made burgers in good buns. Wife had a pulled pork bbq wrap which was well portioned and tasty. £16 for two meals and drinks. Cant be fairer than that! And service with a smile. Thank you!

Popped in to try some lunch, as I was very impressed with a full 'monty' breakfast that I had enjoyed there the week before.Was not let down either. A lunch of salmon fish cakes, salad and fries with a pint of john Smith'sto wash it down, excellent.The food is fresh, well prepared and good value also there are not many places one can buy a pint for less than £3.A friendly place with good service.Perhaps a freshen up decor wise and a good scrub in the toilets would go a long way to make this place the best in the harbour.

I took my mother here for lunch on Mothers Day, it is on the marina so plenty to look at as you sit and eat. We had a very good meal of a kilo each of mussels with crusty bread, lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food is cooked in front of you so you know what you are getting. We really enjoyed it and would definitely eat there again when in Eastbourne.

all right to have a drink gets a bit busy in the summer, plenty of other places to eat and drink in the harbour

As aboveA little rough and ready but where would we be in England without our our typical English pub.Not one for taking your Mum to however. Great if you fancy a pint and a swear at the television showing very loud sports channels.Cockles can be bought as a little snack if that is your fancy. I frequently use this bar/restaurant which holds a great ambience with friendly staff who always make customers feel welcome. The food is extremely good value and its a great place to meet local residents.

We too stumbled upon this place by accident. The view is really nice and we managed to sit in a location sheltered enough from the through breeze.Toilets were dirty and the organisation and cleanliness definately not as good as the cafe next door. It was very reasonably priced though with a lagre hot chocolate and cappuchino less than £4.We also saw the previously less than friendly woman behind the bar, who appeared to be the manager.

Stumbled across a wonderful wine bar amongst a stunning view. Sampled the local fish and was delightedwith the rustic and delicious outcome, which was wonderfully refreshing as there seems to be a lot of pretentious food around, which all looks very pretty, but if you want to fill your boots and leave feeling like you have actually had something to eat, then i would recommend a visit. Barstaff were friendly, and entertaining, overall i would give it a thumbs up

Nice bar with friendly harbour feel and food that is value for money.A bottle of house wine was 9.50,and very drinkable with a prawn and crab salad for 7.50.

Really tasty, home made burgers and chips with a glass of rose and pint of beer for £16 overlooking the beautiful Sovereign Harbour. Excellent value and a little gem.
