Seafarer Fish & Chips in Canterbury

We had a nice dinner sitting in the seated area inside. The service was friendly and the fish was freshly cooked with thin, crispy batter and thick cut chips, which were nicely cooked.

Amazing fish & chips and the owner was fantastic & accommodating. Better than the fish I’ve had in London on this trip. It was more food than we could even eat.

Had lunch here 3 or 4 times now and on each occasion we have had a consistently good meal. The fish and chips are cooked fresh to order and are delicious! The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs - nothing is too much trouble!

My second visit to Seafarer Fish & Chips the 1st visit was very good a Sea Food Platter...today I opted for Plaice & Chips sitting at an outside table. The Fish freshly fried was oily with a horrible after taste the chips tepid and like eating cardboard obviouly left to stand waiting for me! I only finished half of my meal and that was a strugle. Before I left two staff members on their break sat down fags in hand no they didnt ask if I minded them smoking...yes I did! However I was leaving never ever to return £15.00 down the drain!

Great fish and chips enjoyed by all. We were a party of 8 on a Sunday all served promptly, food was hot and freshly cooked. Staff friendly and helpful. No complaints at all

We opted to eat in the restaurant and so glad we did. We enjoyed haddock and chips and one cod bites. Have never tasted such good fish before (and I'm getting on in years!). The fish was lightly battered which was very crisp too. The haddock was piping hot and extremley flavoursome, just excellent. The meals are very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality. The owners were cheerful and helpful.

What a gem of a place lovely staff clean and welcoming and the fish and chips wow I enjoyed them but the coffee was great to will be back

Excellent fish and chips, freshly cooked, very friendly staff, right next to the gate into the Cathedral, will return on our next visit to Canterbury.

Pretty awful. We found the grilled fish that we asked for to be expensive and dry and it certainly wasn’t anything like cod despite the proprietors claims to the contrary. I wouldn’t advise anyone to go here if they are after decent fish and chips – I don’t mind paying a higher price, so long as the meal is reasonable. Staff seemed to be very casual.

The restaurant says it is a traditional fish and chip shop on the window. The restaurant is very small and the chips are frozen. But on a positive note the fish was nice.

So friendly. Great value, especially considering the location. Lovely chips. A real delight, especially as the location could have tempted them to inflate the prices, but they have kept it real.

When a classic traditional fish'n chip shop is right next door to the entry to a huge tourist magnet like Canterbury Cathedral, you really do worry that they might be trying to get away with dreadful quality at exorbitant prices. But instead, a very pleasant surprise. Excellent fish in very crispy batter, with chunky chips made of real potatoes, good portions (we had the smaller size), and as un-greasy as deep fried can get. Fast cheerful service and prices - for the location - perfectly acceptable, GBP12 for the main, a little more for some peas.

The best fish and chips I ever have…. Freshly cooked and served to me… will be back very soon again!! Can not wait for next visit that restaurant! ❤️❤️❤️

I had the cod bites and my friend had the traditional plate of fish and chips. Both were excellent. The breading was light and crisp, the fish white and flakey. The taste light and fresh. No sauce for me. They were delicious as served! And the staff were great. We had to get back to our tour bus so they provided a take away box when we realized we didn't have time to finish. No way were we leaving anything behind.

Totally very bad experience in the world! We orders 3 pie and chips, they never told us it’s microwave pie, my daughter and husband ate it as they did not want to waste the food, and I returned my pie as it will not go well with my tummy . When we had to pay , they requested to pay for 3 pies and I did say that we can not pay for 2 what they had, unexpected behaviours of the staff and tried to slap my husband and pushed him out of the shop and we had to call the police . And get the owner report to the police for abusing my husband in front of my daughter who is 11 years old.an angry Shopee owner and god is watching him for his behaviour and no humanity, he is in fit to run a shop where he can harm people for his behaviour.

Brilliant service. Spacious inside. Fish and chips were delicious. Paid a pound extra to sit inside and eat. Confirmed that they fry fish separately so no cross contamination with meat products. If you're a muslim looking for fish n chips in Canterbury, this is the place.
