did not receive our order. instead received small chips and sausages. The driver told me he made a mistake and couldn't do anything about his mistake. somebody had our meal and we ended up re ordering..

Been ordering from here a while now and food has always been 10/10. But today my cod bites were small and..... anaemic and not the greatest tasteing, so sad. Hopefully a one off.

Whilst not the worst cod and chips I’ve ever eaten it really wasn’t very good. The chips were to my taste a bit undercooked some were still a bit raw. Luckily there wasn’t that many of them for me to eat. The cod I had was a pretty thin tail piece. So this meant I got almost as much skin as I did actual mushy cod flesh. The mushy peas come in one of those pots that usually contain sauce. When I opened the pot I was surprised to find a nice pea soup. When I drank the soup I found the dozen poor peas hiding at the bottom. Must be a nice earner if you can get about 10p per pea. Battered sausage was meh. Don’t expect much from a battered sausage but a semblance of crispy batter would be nice. Overall a disappointment. Also do you guys actually charge for salt. I’m sure I saw salt on the extras board for 60p.

I’ve had this meal from other places and always flung the scampi too salty. This was really lovely and value for money

The map showed the delivery driver was here but I had to go look for him after about 4-5 minutes. Food was warm, not. Had to reheat therefore food lost quality

I ordered my food and I got my food they forgot my drinks and I phoned up about getting my drinks and then they asked me to pick it up when I payed for it be delivered

Driver was very rude. He rang me asking where I live and that my address don’t exist. I had to come out of my house and find the driver. He spoke to me but I couldn’t understand him as he wasn’t English and was wearing a balaclava!! Teach him some manners and a bit of customer service!!

Crap and cold, came here as we’re staying close by for work. The curry sauce was ice cold and they put the salt on and then the vinegar so it washes all the salt off. How can you work in a fish and chip shop and not get the basics right 😬

Have had fish and chips from marino’s quite a few times this was the worst i have had.

Absolutely the best chips I’ve eaten in ages , hot , crispy and fluffy. If Marshall Amps were a restaurant that would be this one! Why? Because this place scores higher than 10/10 , it goes up to 11 “and that’s one more” 👍

According to My Orders the order from Marinos Fish Bar was delivered. It has not been delivered and n phone call was made if the delivery person couldn't find us. I would like a full refund.

Both lots of curry sauce were spilt all in the bag not any left in the pots they came in very disappointed. Chicken nuggets were over cooked

Stopped in last week for fish and chips. Service was excellent. All the ladies working were extremely friendly and efficient, the service was quick and I felt very welcome. The fish was amazing. Perfectly cooked and a large solid fillet, not greasy at all. Chips were great and a very healthy portion to boot. In addition, my northern Mum gave the mushy peas high praise (in her terms) by saying “They weren’t bad for the south”. All around a great experience, will definitely be back. 10/10.

Best we've had from Marinos. Chips were nicely with dredged in salt and vinegar, the fish was lovely and moist, best ever batter. All gone no waste.

Ordered kids cod bites and chips and didn’t get the cod bites!

Couldn't organise a drinks in a pub!! Ordered a small cheesy chips for 1 person and a large plain chips for 3 of us who have food intolerance and ended up with them the other way round so the chips went in the bin. All that money wasted for nothing.

Made my order at just after 5pm and it didn’t arrive till 7:34pm ! Absolute joke ! Had no updates on my order and the estimated delivery time was changed twice from 5:55-6:15 to then 6:05-6:25 and didn’t arrive till 7.34. I want a full refund on my order

A late dinner after watching the football in a pub across the road from this establishment. Marinos was once one of the better fish and chip shops. But now, the price of chips has put me off. See photos. Daylight robbery, or in this instance, night light robbery. £3.20 FOR A SMALL PORTION OF CHIPS!!!! That's more expensive than some of the other items on the menu. And. The chips were a little soggy at best. Complete rip off.

Pathetic portions. A medium portions of chips at over £5 isn't even enough to feed for 2 people. I dread to think how pants the small portion is.

Delicious. Not huge portion sizes for the money, large is enough for 2 with a burger or saveloy. Recommended.

The food was collected then taken to the other side of Canterbury done two stops then delivered our food, food was freezing when got here and as for the quality of the kids burgers well I wouldn’t even feed my dog it

Popped in for chips, first time here. 2 other customers seated waiting. 3 staff behind counter. I was asked if I wanted fish. Said no thanks, I ordered medium chips. Was offered a small portion and said it wasn't enough. Asked to upgrade to large. Now £5.40. Wasn't offered salt n vinegar. Had to ask for that. Shared with my son virtually straight after leaving and the chips were pretty cold. Sorry guys. Need to sell hot chips, especially at that price. I was happy to wait if needed.

I highly recommend this shop to other tourists. Marino's Fish Bar gave me the best fish and chips and ate it on the river side was one of the best moments of this trip!

Went here and asked do you still do mushy pea fritters, given a blank and rude no, said you once did again a rude comment. Asked if they sold their food in polystyrene trays and again a blunt rude reply. Why is any chip shop selling food in polystyrene trays that take millennials to rot down. Would not go back

Popped in adhoc on the way to Canterbury West. Wish I hadn't bothered! Made a simple enquiry as to sausage sizes and was barked at 'we only have one size' literally could be bothered to ask further questions and left immediately. Maybe if they spent less time on their social media and more time giving a damn then I'm confident your footfall would increase. No desire to return.

Very good service from marino's,food came on time & still very hot. Would recommend marino's to anyone who wants a classic chip shop.

This used to be the best fish and chip takeaway in town and now it’s the worst. It’s been utterly ruined by prioritising Uber Eats and Deliveroo over walk in customers and those placing orders by phone, which is pointless as they only queue your phone order when you walk in! On my last visit it was pandemonium, with delivery drivers arguing with staff as customers’ orders were neglected, abandoned and forgotten. What is the point of phoning your order, arriving, repeating it and then waiting 40 minutes because it’s now queued behind a dozen food delivery orders.? Never again.

All was lovely except the savaloys. They were inedible. Really not good at all and usually don't dislike anything from here.

Had it with pleased experience. It was a sunny day near the noon, and I was the only customer at that time. The staff did the fish and chips on the spot which surprised me, but with satisfying service. I would describe it is a pleasant experience, oh I said it at the beginning. The fish is just like what it has to be, and when you have it, you know it’s what fresh like. I would say it’ll be good if I can have it at the beach side, it’s a little shame that it runs in the city(not anyone’s fault, to be fair).

Moved to the area a few months ago and would prefer going to marinos as in walking distance. First time I went on a Friday and boxed it straight away from the hot shelf... Batter was very oily and cod had no chunky white hold . It was similar this time , batter oily and cod bland and watery... I don't like to be critical, just constructive as I would like to try one more time . Please don't offer any freebies as I can appreciate how hard it is with running costs just want to enjoy my fish and chips... Just don't want to drive elsewher and will give another go without a further review regards Jason

Fish cake batter was very over done but other then that everything else was perfect, burgers are spot on!

Marinos is alway good, and I’ve been going there for a long time. The fish is fresh, the chips are crispy and fluffy and they do a proper range of extras.

I ordered large cod and it came very large. Chicken strips also taste good but I would strongly recommend the calamari. It was the best calamari I've ever had. Delicious food with good prices! (Btw, no dips given with any dishes so you have to extra pay for it)

The food was luke warm when it arrived. If the driver had to drive far to deliver I could be more understanding but we are only a 7 minute drive away.

Not the fault of the driver, he was fantastic! Just took a while to assign a driver this time. Once the driver got the food, it was here right away!

ordered large chips and almost half of the chips were really hard (like wood chips) and inedible despite being told they were freshly made. it was like they scraped all the remnants from the bottom of the fryer. i might’ve as well have ordered a small or medium. disappointing as i was recommended by a friend. long wait times in store as they prioritise delivery orders. they charge extra for any sauce and the price of chips is also really high for a traditional chippy which i didn’t mind if they delivered on quality but they clearly didn’t. a massive let down.

Fresh fish, nice chips. Probably wouldn’t bother with the halloumi fries, stick to the basics they do well. Food was hot on delivery, overall good experience
