Not only does this place sell belting tea/coffee (husband said it was the best coffee he'd had all week) and cold drinks. They are kind and helpful beyond words... on 29th Oct 24 we decided to visit Staithes and it didn't disappoint, an absolutely stunningly, breathe taking place. My only gripe is that we didn't get a proper mooch as our trip was cut very short when my kids were playing on the beach and a wave came in quick, my son ran 1 way and another boy ran another way with a spade in the air, which resulted in my 6 year old little boy bleeding heavily from a gash in his face... there was so much blood I couldn't even see where he was bleeding from... the amazing lady from the sea drift cafe was first to come and see if he was okay... she then offered us advice and care as a first aider and a lift straight to the car park which was at least a 15 mins walk and gave us directions to the nearest hospital, where he was treated in urgent care. Would highly recommend this place even if it is just to get a dose of what actual, kind humanity looks like again, in this crazy fast paced world! Thanks so so much we really appreciate all you did ❤️

Used to love this place but now one orders through a hatch and is presented with food in a cardboard box - even cake with cream on top - and coffee in a cardboard cup, having been called from another hatch - "number 25!" - around the corner to collect a very unaesthetic lunch. I did protest but the very nice lady said it all worked better for the staff that way. So pleased for you but so complicated and not a pleasant experience for the customer. Sadly I used to be very loyal but this is post Covid lazy nonsense and heavy on the recycling too.

Served through a letterbox hatch, scones were given to me already with the jam and cream on in a bag! I sat waiting for my order and heard the lady shouting through the hatch! Honestly i have never seen anything like it! The cream was sliding off the jam, i didn't even have a knife to smooth it down, the jam was too much i would have rather put my own jam and cream on, a couple who came after us ordered 2 toasted tea cakes, the lady serving shouted out the back door and put them on a table there, it reminded me of a sketch from Little Britain!

We stopped here for breakfast on a couple of our days in Staithes. It is small but has a few tables outside looking across the harbour, very pleasant! They offer gluten free bread so I had that with scrampled eggs and bacon, very tasty, properly cooked and generous in portion. My OH is a bit fussy with eggs and likes them well cooked (I would say overcooked but that's how she likes it) and they cooked them spot on both times. I would've liked to have had afternoon tea and cake there as they had gluten free options but we were out all day every day. The service was excellent and very friendly. Note though that they are a cash only business, I'm not sure if that is normal for them but it was on our visits. Thouroughly recommended!

There was a total of 12 people inside the cafe, including my group and no one could get in. The lady working there was warm and friendly and when breakfast was served it was lovely, the baps toasted and the meat juicy and tasty. The cakes looked irresistible so we took some home for our kids. The coble cake was delicious and the cream really set it off (thanks to the lady for heating instructions!) . We didn't even get a chance to sample the rocky road cakes as the kids soon whipped them away!A lovely little place and we would love to go back one day to sample the bagels and sandwiches they have on offer at lunch as they sounded delicious!

A delightful little café, popular with both locals and tourists. Not much room to sit inside only 4 tables available but more seating is available outside. We had two large coffee's, a homemade scone and a generous slice of homemade cobble cake with cream costing around £10 which isn't excessive in my opinion. The staff were efficient and really friendly. I would recommend if you are visiting Staithes.

We decided on a day of crabbing in Staithes and went prepared for a fun day. The kids (7 of them) had had their breakfast but the 3 adults hadn't so first stop, Sea Drift for bacon butties and coffee. Yes, they did gluten free bread!! Yes, they did caffeine free coffee, so with those my wife was delighted and consequently so was I!! The butties were delicious and we could see so many other delightful offerings it was hard not to stay there for a couple of hours, but our waistlines were preserved. However we could fully understand why the tables at the front were full all day. Friendly staff, clearly popular with locals and visitors alike and we will be back there next year!!

A weekday visit to Staithes and a lovely hot, sunny day on the beach. The cafe was very busy so we ordered three takeaway sandwiches and a couple of soft drinks. The sandwiches were freshly prepared and very tasty, but the bill for £17 was very expensive for what it was.Next time we're planning a visit to Staithes I'll take out a second mortgage beforehand and then perhaps we can afford some cake as well !!

Friendly service, very tasty cake.£15 for two teas, one coffee and three slices of (very delicious) cake is expensive in my book.I guess the season is quite short.

We walked in and said hello to the woman at the till. She completely blanked us and carried on talking to her friend. When we said hello again she said "what do you want?". She was unfriendly, unhelpful and rolled her eyes when I couldn't decide what to order. My mum was paying but if it had been me, I would have said "forget it" and I would have taken my custom elsewhere. I work in hospitality and therefore know the importance of creating a good atmosphere and a friendly rapport with the customer, but she certainly doesn't care. We will never be back at this cafe, even if we were paid. To be fair, the food seemed to be nice (only my parents ate, due to being rushed by the woman at the till, I decided I would wait and go elsewhere for my dinner), but even so the experience was ruined by her rude attitude.

Really bad weather for our Spring Bank week away, but places like this make it worthwhile. Fantastic local cakes especially the Coble cake - so tempting. Not bad prices - just a shame we were too cold to sit outside

I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served - by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

I came here during each visit from Canada and we were just getting ready to return again. I am just shocked to find out that they have closed permanently and I can only live with my memories. I wanted to bring my wife there for what I hoped would be another incredible weekend. I can only hope the very best for the family and say thanks for all of the memories and the fantastic bar towels that I still have after 20 years Thank you. Muchas gracias. Hvala, arrigoto, Merci,

We had a nice English breakfast for the start of our walk. Not the best ever perhaps, but enjoyable and open at 7:30. Prices are reasonable, but cash only

We had the unfortunate "luck" of spending a night at this place. Got a "suite" under the creaky flooring of the pub with noise-channelling ventilation ducts overhead, a substandard kitchen with no cupboards and wobbly table, a toilet with no ventilation, exposed pipes and disjointed faucet and a door with no handle in sight... All this came with a delayed check-in and service that leaves much to hope for. While the rooms above the pub may make for a better night's sleep, there is little hope that could improve this establishment's culture of hospitality.

What’s really interesting about this cafe is that it’s part of the now closed second funicular tram at the top. Loved the Yorkshire owner of the cafe ☕️. Great bacon rolls before we checked into The Grand next door 🚪 (which we liked ❤️ too)
