Over priced microwave food. We ordered ‘oven’ warmed bread for the table, it came out served on a platter on top of a black paper serviette, because it had clearly been warmed in the microwave the moisture meant the serviette had actually stuck to the bread. The rest of the food that came out was more worthy of a weatherspoons rather than a hotel Restaurant. The prices they are charging for dessert you would expect something pretty special but for £9.50 my husband got a very soggy apple crumble tart clearly just warmed in the microwave. When we were asked if everything was ok and we commented it was alright for microwave food not one of the staff denied it. Would not eat here again.

Couldnt fault the food, and although staff are friendly we did experience an over tired waiter with no wine waiter skills. Steak was lovely as was the fish and chips. Reasonable value for money.

We’d pre-booked an afternoon tea for £25pp. It took place in the hotel bar. Our table was at the furthest point with no natural light and only wallpapered walls to look at! For the duration of the time we were there, the hotel bar was fairly quiet with maybe 4 other tables with people (some wearing their dressing gowns). There were 3 waiting staff on the floor, all were polite but not one of them were attentive. We had to ask for everything including tea! Service throughout was very slow and disappointing. Tea went cold quickly in the teapots. Our sandwiches were alright, cakes fairly tasty but the scones were rubbish. We received one plain scone each (which was cold, pre sliced and we believe it was pre bought). I include a picture of the afternoon tea. This was £50 for the two of us!!!!!! What I found most annoying was that there wasn’t an equal amount for us so we had to cut in half a sandwich, cut in half the 1 slice of carrot cake etc. I would not recommend or return.

Attended the afternoon tea for a birthday after looking at the online menu. Although it was £25 the menu looked nice and worthwhile with salmon rolls, coronation chicken and mango chutney sandwiches and Serrano ham and pickle sandwiches as well as macaroons, eclairs and battenburgs promised. However, what we were given was atrocious. Upon arrival it was very quiet and we were seated quickly and told the food would arrive promptly, not once were we offered tea or a beverage at all and in the end we never even had a cup of tea something that is ridiculous for an afternoon tea. When the food arrived immediately something was wrong, instead of the fancier sandwiches advertised we got given plain ham sandwiches, cheese and pickle and egg mayonnaise sandwiches. This is outrageous and something we could have whipped up at home for half the price, the bread was also dry as if it had been sat out for too long. One of us went an enquired about the menu change and whether that would effect the cost of the meal just to be told the menu was updated and not changed on the website yet. As for the cakes we got none that were listed either and instead were served one chocolate cake and carrot cake between 3 as well as a few lemon cheesecakes. We had such high hopes and this was a birthday meal and it just wasn’t good enough especially for £25 a person where we weren’t even offered tea.

We had dinner here as part of our spa package at the Q Norton Hotel, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Food was delicious (we had three courses!) and the service was fantastic. Uday and Ali were excellent hosts and their team provided top notch care and service. They clearly had a great rapport with everyone in the team and guests. Would 100% recommend.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and the highlight for me, is the restaurant. Food is great, superb sweet potato fries! The pea & mint ravioli and the veg rice flour parcel mains are both of high quality. Onion soup is also amazing. Connor, who works there, is an absolute legend! Great advisory on food, great customer service skills and really knowledgeable. He really knows how to look after his customers, that's for sure. Thanks very much. Keep up the good work!

While staying at the Norton Park Hotel for 2 nights we ate in the restaurant in the evening & for breakfast on both days. The first evening it took over 15 minutes to get a drink order in the restaurant after sitting down at the table, then another 5 mins to do the food order. I asked for prawns with normal seafood sauce & not bloody Mary sauce as I don't drink alcohol but I believe it came with this sauce as it had alcohol in as it went to my head, if you ask for something because you are allergic to something or affects you or other reasons this isn't acceptable. The basket holding the fries with my burger had a broken handle, much better to just put them on a plate & save washing up. No mention of the food allowance as we were on the dbb rate, this was £28 but no mention when checking in, on the booking confirmation email, on the menu or on the website when booking. This was mentioned to the head waiter on getting the bill who was going to mention it to reception as it was only his second day here & the receptionist was also a trainee. So better training should be given. The head waiter also didn't have his top button done up & his tie done up properly unlike the other waiting staff. No one asked if the food was any good at anytime & took over 2 hours from sitting down to leaving which isn't acceptable, I know you have to wait for good food but we didn't even get that. Breakfast is help yourself style with a selection of cerials & continental & then a cooked buffet style. There is only 1 toaster to cook your toast on which had to go through twice so you had to wait a while for your toast. The cooked breakfast wasn't edible it had been sat waiting for a long time & while at breakfast for 40 minutes nothing was replaced, they cook too much at once instead of a little often or cook it fresh when the hotel is quieter. The plates were also cold which doesn't help. . The 2nd night we also ate in the restaurant when our food eventually arrived the chips weren't hot, so they took my dad's steak & chips back along with my chips leaving me my burger, 30 minutes later they brought the steak out but didn't bother bringing my chips until we mentioned it to them. So we ate separately, the head waiter didn't come & apologise for this or offer us anything in compensation for this. The steak was £28 but you wouldn't of paid £10 for it. My dad had cheese & busicuts which was £8.50 for 4 busicuts & 3 bits of cheese the Stilton having the rind on the top & side so wasn't edible, we couldn't complain as it would of been quicker to go & milk the cow & make the cheese & let it mature for some months before they would bring a new piece out. The restaurant was also very warm as the air conditioning wasn't on & they had shut the curtains so the air couldn't come in to cool us down. The breakfast on the second morning was similar & didn't look that good, so I went for poached eggs on toast which took several munutes to arrive & then wasn't that hot but at least edible. Another woman asked for a omelette but the 1st one wasn't very good it looked more like scrambled eggs & it was going to take 15 minutes to cook another as the chef was busy. In summary you are best to avoid this restaurant & find somewhere else to eat if you stay here even McDonald's would be much better at least for breakfast & much cheaper. They urgently require new chefs & management here. There is also another review on the hotel if you are in any doubt.

As a member of the Reflections club at Norton Park I get a discount off the food but I wasn’t keen on the previous bar menu so hardly visited to eat. I dropped by after work to have a cappuccino and saw that the bar menu had been updated. I ordered the fish finger sandwich which comes with picked cucumber and rough cut tartare sauce for a very reasonable £7.50 which includes slaw and fries. The meal was delicious and the cappuccino was made perfectly by professional, courteous staff. Tom was very friendly, made the best cappuccino and delivered a high standard professional service with attention to detail. Water with ice and lemon was brought to the table with a full set of condiments which were laid out with care which was lovely. Callum brought out the food very promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!!

Staying in the hotel, so ate here one night (in the bar the other). The menu is fixed price, with 5 or 6 choices per course.Starter was a ham hock - not a large portion - served on a slate, so bits kept falling off. Nice, but could have done with more....Main was chicken with veg - again nice, and more generous. Drinks were very expensive (to my mind) and many of the beers were off.Service was very good.

Not served some of my drinks. Asked for plates. Did not get any 20min later. It’s decent food if you’re stopping for the Tesla charger (no other options) but the charger is not that fast (if you have 2 cars out of 2 places) and nor is the restaurant service...

The Scene is a fairly standard hotel restaurant in lay out (ie a bit cramped) and ambiance (ie very noisy, particularly when the hen parties arrive). No me viajar aquí para una comida, pero si se alojan en el hotel, no está mal. Sólo asegúrate de reservar el restaurante previamente (o podrá comer en el bar) y hacer buenas elecciones de plato. It was self service, but the staff there were attentive and checked whether you were happy with everything and could they do anything for you. Both my friend and I came away satisfied and commenting how nice the meals were. The evening meal was superb and we ordered from the menu. Again plenty of choice, well cooked and presented and the staff were helpful, polite and friendly. The following morning there was lots of food for all tastes, this again was self service, however there was a menu for other dishes available like Eggs Benedict. My disappointment in this place was heightened by the fact that, as a rural and isolated hotel, I believe it has a special duty (above other hotels in busier areas) to provide somewhere decent to eat. It failed in this.I can't give this place one star because it wasn't 'terrible' but it wasn't much above that. Large metal buffet trays had been left on the side of the restaurant entrance and a flustered staff member was anxiously telling people that there may not be any tables when the restaurant was not even half-full.The waiting staff were largely quite young, polite and well-intentioned. They could probably do with a little more training, though - our waiter spent 4-5 minutes attempting to extract the cork from our bottle before taking it into the kitchen and trying there. We received our wine soon after. At all times I was painfully aware I was eating in a hotel breakfast room. The food was really disappointing. A smell of service-station roast chicken was everywhere. In the end we went for the 'freshly charcoal grilled sirloin steak' or whatever the wording was. Our reward was a thin, uninspiring sliver of steak with some half-decent chips but a poor, watery bearnaise. The steak seemed like minute steak to us and v. expensive at £20+.The wine list also seemed very expensive - I can't recall seeing a bottle for under £30.In the end, our 2-course dinner with wine here was more expensive than our 3-course lunch with wine earlier that day at the Chesil Rectory in Winchester, which was excellent.I would suggest this place hires a couple of chefs to change its direction - how about some dishes using ingredients from the nearby farms? Less frozen, ready-made stuff and more homemade - even if simple - fare.
