Very good place, excellent food.

First time visit, but will return! Menu great selection, food was stunningly tasty and portions just right. Service was very friendly and attentive. Price wise, good and competitive with similar restaurants, but for authentic korean experience cant go wrong here. Highly suggest giving it a go!

Food was utterly disappointing. A massive drop in quality from previous visits with price increase as well. Rice was soggy and undercooked, when told waiter he showed us an attitude and was very rude. Food was not worthy of price at all, such a disappointment.

The rice wasn’t cooked and the waiter was a bit annoyed. Not a good experience

We had a great first dinner here tonight. The staff were really friendly and every piece of food was perfect. I recommend the friend chicken and the beef kimbap. It felt very cosy inside and had a real authentic feel to it.

Always such a good time at Sarangchae! Had the crispy nut chicken (must-have), doenjang jiggae (comforting) & beef gimbap (homey) here and everything was amazing as usual. Really great service & atmosphere too, thanks so much for the great dinner as always and looking forward to being back sometime soon!

I came here a while ago I had bibimbap, it was delicious. The portions sizes are great too. Genuinely, just heaven, I’ve just ordered the beef kimbap, please teach me. This is so so good. Honestly, delicious.

Literally the best chicken I have ever had (not an exaggeration). Order the crispy nut chicken (spice warning) or forever regret it

Went here with my partner - Portion sizes were large. The food was very tasty. I was looking for an authentic Korean food experience and judging from other's reviews I found one. It isn't cheap but it was worth it. The food also came out extremely fast and the staff were lovely.

Brilliant restaurant, always delivers top quality food.

Authenticity at its finest and the best kimchi pancakes we've had. They also serve halal chicken in their dishes so Muslims close by should definitely try it out.

I ordered a black bean sauce tofu with noodles. And the food wasn't having flavours at all. The sauce was more like water. When I asked the staff, if the dish is supposed to be like that? Or I was wrong. She confirmed that it is supposed to be a little salty and flavourful. And when I said, the dish isn't like that at all, she asked me "What do you want me to do?" I was stunned with that response. Just left and wasted £13.90 😐

Very authentic Korean food, great place for a casual meal. It has a large variety of dishes and is very well priced. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of Korea.

Google should add a 0 star option. This is hands down the worst restaurant I’ve been to in the UK no joke. I’m not saying the food is inedible but it is not worth coming at all. Everything is extremely overpriced and food quality was poor. I ordered a Doenjang-jjigae that cost like 14 pounds and all I had was 5-7 thin slices of potato, chilli flakes and 2 whole mushrooms max. I basically had water diluted with small amounts of chilli paste and a few pieces of vegetables with rice. Asked the server why there wasn’t seafood as I believe I saw seafood on their online menu and he blamed it on me for ordering the wrong thing. My girlfriend ordered a Beef Japchae that cost 10 and it was tiny, watery and the temperature of the food was all over the place. Some noodles were cold, beef was hot, and the vegetables were luke warm. We might not have ordered their “signature dish” but this is pretty unacceptable give we paid quite a lot. I would’ve been so much more happy if they gave me bread and butter to eat. I’m writing this review in their restaurant right now and McDonalds seem like a 3 star Michelin restaurant compared to what we experienced. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable here, one of the waiters that seemed like a part time worker was nice but the other guy that seemed like a manager/owner was pretty rude when addressing my concerns when I simply asked “is this my order, I think I ordered the one with seafood”.

Really nice food i defo like eating here now and then as it’s a little expensive ! But the opening times are wrong on google so I came and it’s shut … :( - update they changed the timings on google! Also want to say this place plays no music so the atmosphere can be very weird at times.

We were disappointed with their service and food today. It is such a shame as I really enjoyed my two visits previously. :( First there was a long hair found in the egg of bibimbap and they took our order wrong for the second dish. Mistakenly served us chicken instead of beef. Then because I bit into a ddoek, they said they cannot change the order. I did not realize the meat was different until I started stirring into the dish! I am Korean and I feel that this restaurant does not really represent our true taste. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make improvements in the future!

Great food, always try to have something different, never disappointed. Most recently had the fried rice, very simple but incredibly tasty.

A nice, cozy atmosphere and really good, authentic food, with big portions for a reasonable price! This is the best Korean food I've found so far in the UK and I always stop by when I'm in Nottingham

Absolute banger! Such good food, excellent service and can’t believe how quick the food came out. 3 completely different dishes in maybe 10 minutes max? Can’t recommend highly enough.

The food was incredibly bland and distasteful. Ordered 5 meals with the first one coming 15 mins and 3 10 mins after that and the 5th near the end when we were done eating. Poor customer service and too expensive for the trash food they serve.

If you are in a good mood for some Korean food this restaurant is a great option🌟. The menu has a good variety of dishes and the food is always fresh and delicious🍛. The service is also great - the staff is friendly and attentive. They have enough vegetarian dishes too. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good Korean meal. 😋

Fab little restaurant serving authentic Korean dishes. I had the Cheese Topokki without the fish cake - which was tasty and filling. The portion sizes are quite generous, so I’m glad I didn’t have a starter! Prices are good, and the staff are lovely.

First time visiting here- First time eating Korean food. It will will not be my last! Food was fabulous - staff were pleasant efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming what more could you ask for!!

Great food! Their nut chicken is exceptional and so is their kimchi pancake! Beers are a bit expensive but they have some korean beers and some other asians ones (unfortunately nothing on tap). I cannot stress enough how good the food was and the service was extremely quick. I will definitely be coming back

The most delicious Korean food I've tried in foreign countries so far! Very authentic as all dishes are made from native Korean chefs. Decent portions and definitely worth the price! We have now become regular visitors as it's too good to just go there once. Strongly recommended! Remember to book a table during weekend nights as the restaurant is small and very busy!

Ate here a couple of weeks ago. Really nice food and good portion sizes. The staff were really helpful. Would recommend, I will be returning.

5 years since my last visit, I’m delighted to say that the rappoki is still as good as I remember it to be.

Amazing value for money and really genuine Korean cusisine. Loved it.

The food was pretty good and our server was friendly. However, they allowed us to book a table close to their closing time but started to rush us out, which felt a bit uncomfortable. And, not serving tap water is illegal. The reason they give is because they don't want to give out cups, but ordering a beer and canned drinks, we still got cups given to us.

This little unassuming place, next door to nowhere, serves wonderful Korean food. Best Korean restaurant in Nottingham. Strongly recommended!

Apologies the name for dished are not so correct , I can’t remember them ;( Kimchi soup -little spicy with Toufu inside Also recommend with seafood Spicy chicken 🐔- once you had it you want it again lol Beef on hot pan- marinated in sauce before frying, one of my favorite in this place Egg roll-Can’t bit a beautiful korean egg roll. Let the protein rocket go 🚀 Zhajiang noodle - one bite is enough to travel back to Korea. Bit light taste, would prefer more salt 🧂 Zhacai - vegetable fried clear noodles yummy Milkis - Korean soda drink yogurt flavor Thank you for bring proper korean food so close to us. Price increased, not as good as before

100% the kind of food I remember from my visit to Korea. Real food. Everything is fresh and homemade; you can tell because it tastes fantastic and it's filling, but you feel great after a meal here. My favourites are the BiBimBap and the Japchae. Also, try the kimchi and the savoury pancakes!

I went for lunch today and ordered chicken bibimbap. It was incredible, I can't wait to go again! The staff were friendly and gave great service and the servings were a very good size, definitely worth the money. Recommend if you're looking for a place to eat in Nottingham! :)

I had beef Bibimbap and Pork Bulgogi with Dumplings. It was very nice. The prices are standard 11 pounds for main courses and if you love Korean food it's a good meal for two

Is it just me or do all Koreans like their soup piping hot?🙋‍♀️ After a meeting in Nottingham, I went to Sarangchae for a lunch. The interior decoration was simple and it’s like the traditional family run restaurant in Korea. Sarangchae 📍 278-280 Huntingdon St, Nottingham NG1 3NA WHAT I GOT 🍲Kimchi Jjigae with kimchi dumplings Jjigae is a Korean stew and usually served in a pot. I love seeing the Jjigae boiling hot when it’s served. So warm and satisfying 🥰 The Jjigae included kimchi, kimchi dumplings, tofu, vermicelli noodles and served with rice. Some pork belly were used to make the soup more tasty. It’s spicy, hot and fabulously piquant 😋 How about the kimchi dumplings? You can stop searching - you just found (probably) the best Korean restaurant in Nottingham. There are veggie, vegan and gf options. A HUGE range of dishes. Staff were friendly, and the food was served as soon as it was ready and you could really appreciate the freshness. The inside decor is modest, but the food, service and table wear shine through.

Lunch time at Sunday was full of customers what make us happy.Decor could be a bit updated as it's does looks like more takeaway place although we love food.Big portions.

First time in a Korean restaurant and it was well worth the wait. Fish cakes, crispy chicken and Bimimbap were all delicious. The aloe king mango drink was also very refreshing. Will definitely come back again.

Sarangchae has multiple, amazing vegan options! The meals are reasonably priced and the service is amazing. Would recommend to book a table as it is quite popular.

If you love hot and spicy Korean food, this is the place to visit. The set-up of the restaurant is simple but the food was delicious and price is reasonable. Service was relatively fast.

Basic set-up but authentic and great food! Huge menu made choosing tricky but means we will have to return to try more!
