Sapphire Kitchen & Bar in Leicester

How do i start! Went there with my girlfriends ( 4 of us). *The restaurant deco needs an update, it looks like cheap place painted with fake plants. *seafood boil prawns were ok in flavour but for the price paid (over £35) expected more and does not full you. The lobster and the snow crab were frozen and tasteless and just and you can tell was not fresh, wich i understand but 57£ was far to expensive for the amount on the plate, expected much more for the price. We paid over £100 and we were still hungry. *cooktails needs to an update on cheap not not that good. Need you need to get some margarita cups please. * please you must provide some warm towels and water with lemon when eat seafood, very unprofessional only were given wipes after we made a complaint. *you need an update on the trays where you serve seafood plater, was cheap anf ugly. *the restaurant was almost empty and they didn't hab any desert, out of stock, this was a Friday unacceptable. Overall i would not go back again becouse its far to expensive for the restaurant and no atention to detail. Its a good idea but you need to work better and charge the meals to match thr interior.

If I could give zero I would sapphire drinks - made a non-alcoholic coke with alcohol to a muslim friend, used the same straw to make 3 different drinks and used that straw to taste all of them as well, hence putting saliva in all of them. food- took too long to come and didn’t taste that good service - the cutlery came dirty and the staff was very rude and they were not attentive, argued with the muslim friend about not taking the drink off the bill and tried to say she does not look muslim overall - would not recommend and would not go again

I visited with my son who has always wanted to try a seafood boil. I’m really pleased that he didn’t leave disappointed. The food was great: healthy portion sizes and very tasty. I had chicken wings which were lovely. We will go again and probably take a group with us.

We were visiting Leicester and wanted a restaurant in walking distance, so based on the photos and the reviews on here we booked. We were there at 7pm on a Friday evening and we were the only customers for the 45 minutes or so we were there. The chicken wings for starter were OK, alhtough quite greasy. I had the prawn burger for main and my son had the cheese burger. Neither were great - not bad, just very average, and again greasy. Both, for some reason, were also a bit spicy. The chips were nice though! This is essentially, an indian restaurant that is trying to be an American diner, and, in my opinion, is failing badly at it. It seems that all the food is frozen and they chuck it in the deep fat fryer, dress it up a bit and serve it. If you check my other reviews on here you will see that I try to be fair and rarely give bad reviews. This is not a restaurant I would want to go back to, and based on my experience, is not one I would recommend.

Sapphire popped up on my IG .... looked good so the family went this evening and OMFG u walked in and the smell was heavenly and the place was neat n clean. Staff were polite and funny. The food came out looking just like the picture I had seen on IG. The smell, site and taste just was on point. We had fun taking apart the Crab legs and Prawns. Most definitely going back!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I just had an awesome seafood boil at Sapphire near DMU College in Leicester! The Cajun Snowcrab was seriously amazing - the flavour was spot on and they threw in a bunch of other seafood like lobster and prawns. The vibe was really fun and the manager was super attentive too. All in all, I was really impressed with service attention to detail and quality. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Leicester! So, why not give the drinks a try? They taste pretty much like what you'd find anywhere. But if you're looking for something really special, I'd definitely recommend the food. It's totally unique and worth checking out. :Rate from me= 8/10 john

To call it a seafood boil…. Very small portion of potatoes egg and corn. Even though thats what should be used to bulk up the boil. The crab legs were fun to eat but those legs gave everyone the runs afterwards. I dont know how fresh the food was but it definitely destroyed us all. The give away should have been the state of the toilets. Clearly others had the same problem. The seafood boil needs better execution. Fresher ingredients. More value for money. Better price scaling. For it to be the only or one of the only dine in restaurants to offer a seafood boil, you could do so much better.

Extortion!! BEWARE! Not only was the food extremely expensive for a VERY small portion,( £86 for a small lobster tail, One small crab, 4 small potatoes, one egg, 6 prawns and little rice/chips) I was also charged £10 extra for “service charge” bringing my total to £96 and the food was barely enough for one person. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

If you come to Leicester be sure to check out this restaurant because their food is on fire. They have a nice sharing platter called the mix boil.
