I recently visited curveside, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. The coffee I had was superb – rich, flavorful, and brewed to perfection. The breakfast offers a great variety of options, whether you're a coffee lover or prefer something different. I especially appreciated the friendly and attentive service. The staff was warm, professional, and made sure everything was just right. I highly recommend curveside if you're looking for a place with great coffee, excellent service, and a welcoming environment. I'll definitely be returning soon!

I’ve been searching for the perfect coffee in Leicester for quite some time, and today, I finally found it! The coffee I had was, without a doubt, the best I’ve tasted in this city. From the very first sip, I was blown away by the rich flavors. You can tell that the beans were carefully selected and roasted to perfection. The taste was smooth, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of acidity – neither too bitter nor too weak, simply perfect! Not only was the coffee itself amazing, but the presentation was also top-notch. The barista crafted it with such care and added a beautiful latte art design on top, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Each sip felt like a reward for my taste buds, and the cozy atmosphere of the café made it all the more enjoyable. If you’re a coffee lover in Leicester, I highly recommend trying this place. It’s a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates quality coffee!

The breakfast took over an hour to cook and the bread and bacon was from Tesco. We were told we had to wait for them to go to Tesco to get our bacon, which is frankly ridiculous. The sausages tasted like food poisoning and the milk jugs weren't cleaned properly. The one upside was that, after waiting 45 minutes for a cup of tea we were given the drink for free, the first ones anyway. Due to the length of our wait we asked for more tea, and that one we did have to pay for. Furthermore, when we ordered our food, the waitress told us the item we had ordered from the menu in our hands was not on the menu and even after showing it to her she had to go to the kitchen to check that item existed!

Absolutely shocking breakfast, I came because I was hungover and still threw half of it away it was that bad. Eggs were so overcooked it was like eating rubber. The tomatoes were literally cold own brand straight from a tin, and the bacon was in a pool of grease when I opened the container, I know bacon is greasy but this was vile. They asked if I wanted tomatoes or beans with my big breakfast, I asked for both and they said ok, it wasn't until I got home with my takeaway I realised they had actually substituted a sausage for the tomatoes without telling me! It's a shame because its so close to my house and the guys were friendly. AVOID.

My friend and I decided to eat here prior to seeing a show as it was close to the NCP carpark next to the theatre and they offered a pre show meal deal - 2 courses for £12.95. I must admit I didn't expect much as it is very small inside on the ground floor. On entry no one was around so we had to call to the kitchen see if we could have a table. Once seated the staff were very attentive. We both ate off the deal menu and chose prawn cocktail and Pate with both of us choosing a steak. Mine medium rare my friends well done. Not the best steaks ever but acceptable for the price. The chips were made with real potatoes which was nice. Not the biggest portions ever but we were satisfied. For convenince when visiting the theatre we would consider chossing this place again.

We enjoyed dinner , starting with scallops followed by sea bass, others had steak and everyone was satisfied. The staff were lovely and keen to ensure quality service. We were so pleased with dinner that we went back next morning for breakfast and it was still just as good, the service and the food. This is a humble restaurant with no frills but good food.

I ate here two weeks after enjoying a somewhat more expensive, but otherwise similar, steak at the renowned Gaucho Grill in London's West End.As the name indicates this is more cafe style in appearance than restaurant, serving locally sourced, quality dishes with a minimum of fuss.Flat mushrooms with just enough dolcelatte to excite the taste buds without overwhelming the dish made a terrific starter, followed by a melt in the mouth fillet. The menus do not include a wine list but I enjoyed the house Rioja and Merlot and, being slightly cynical, expected to be charged premium price for the pleasure but this was not the case.I would fully recommend this if you are looking for a hearty traditional meal in a relaxed, informal settng with pleasant service at very fair prices.

We attended the Curves ide on a Saturday night as a couple. We had a booking for 8pm and when we arrived the place was fairly empty but did become more busy quite quickly. They only take bookings after 8pm and I believe the restaurant might be busy with theatre goers who will disappear when a show starts, and then you start getting the arrival of the evening diners - this is speculation though. We were warmly greeted, seated quickly and presented with menus and a drinks order taken. We asked a question re an item on the menu which they were happy to clarify. The waiting Staff, it has to be said, were exemplary all night attentive but not intrusive, sociable and warm.We had each had a starter and a main. My partner had soup which was excellent and I had scallops - again excellent; the size of the scallop portion would have benefited from being slightly larger. We both had steaks - my partner fillet and myself ribeye. My partners was excellent - a quality cut and cooked to perfection; tasted wonderful. My ribeye was not so good, a little stringy and a slightly strange taste but in fairness I didn't complain so it can't really be considered a criticism as I'm sure they would have responded well if I had (see drinks comments below). We had some bottled lagers during the meal and the first ones were a little warm; I mentioned this when we ordered the second drinks and the waitress brought us nice cold beers from then on. At the end of the evening these were deducted off of our bill even though I said it was a polite request and not a complaint, and said I didn't mind paying; this was a great gesture.Overall not a bad visit. The bill was around £53 for two starters, two steaks, garlic bread and a couple of drinks each.I think the most negative comment I would have to make is that the restaurant is listed as a Steakhouse. Unless I misread the menu they only do four steaks at 8oz each of different cuts; this is not really what I expected as I would normally have a larger weight. The environment is nice with a relaxed ambience, the service and staff brilliant, the food reasonably good, and value for money average (mainly based on serving size).Tip: Try and get street parking as the NCP car park in the same street is nearly £7 for two hours.

We booked a table for 8 on Saturday evening on the strength of the many positive reviews on trip advisor, but I am sad to say it was a huge disappointment. The good was adequate to be fair, but didn't equate to the glowing reviews. Their was no wine list, two reds in total on sale, honestly more of a glorified cafe than a sophisticated bistro as per reviews, sorry to say but be realistic when visiting this establishment.

The service was welcoming and very warm throughout the evening. Spot on service. We opted for the 'Pre Theatre' 2 course special (we didn't divulge we had no theatre tickets lol) and both courses were delicious. My wife opted for the Pate and I the Prawn Cocktail. For mains were went for Rump & Fillet Steak with homemade chips, crunch veg and a peppercorn sauce. Fillet was just £2.95 extra and the sauce only £1.95. With drinks our bill totalled £45 which we both agreed was excellent value for money. Would we return? Most definitely. Booking I would imagine is vital as it's only a small establishment.

The waitress greeted us immediately upon arrival and showed us to our table which they had kindly decorated with a balloon and a glitzy table decoration. All 5 of us opted for the Pre-Curve Theatre meal, 2 course for £14.95 and requested the fillet steak for an additional £2.95. Definately worth it, our steaks were amazing, was like cutting a knife through butter. Everything was cooked fresh from scratch, no frozen food here thats for sure. We then opted for dessert as felt like we would be missing out on more delicious food.I will definately be going back and I would also recommend this bistro for small parties as the upstairs is ideal and lovely furnished.Overall this bistro is a little gem, ideal location next to the curve, bars and NCP parking, I could not fault at all hence my 5 star rating. My girlfriend and I visited the Curveside Bistro before our visit to see Chicago at the Curveside early in January. Having previously had a booking cancelled in October due to the chef being ill - I was excited to taste the food based on reviews I had seen on TA.We were also offered a complimentary bottle of wine because of the cancelled booking so i decided to book in for the Pre theatre menu. The restaurant is very small - especially downstairs, but we thought this made for a very homely feel. We also loved the choice of music. As we both work in a similar city centre restaurant getting sick of hearing Florence and the Machine over and over - we were loving a bit of Jackson 5 and other classic anthems! The food we thought was amazing. My patê was lovely and my partner really enjoyed her mushroom starter. For our mains, we both ordered the Fillet Steak (how could we not!) With chips and salad. We were even asked if we wanted iceberg lettuce instead of rocket as we had rocket with our starter. The chef got our steaks perfectly cooked, and the red wine and bacon sauce was lovely. Desserts were also very nice. Overall we loved the attentive service, had best steaks we've had in a while and the lovely atmosphere.£45 for 2, three course meals was also good value for money.

Found this bistro on Google after being fed up of the only option to have a pre-theatre meal being the chain restaurants in the city centre or Chutney Ivy. Well, what a hidden gem! We booked a table (which I'd recommend as it is only small) the 2 course pre-theatre menu has the option of Starter & Main or Main & Pudding for £14.95. All four of us ordered the Fillet Steak (this has a £2.95 supplement), we all wanted it cooking slightly differently - this was done to perfection. The home-made chips were amazing and the veg was clearly well sourced and perfectly cooked as it tasted fresh and all was beautifully presented. We all had pudding, crumble, lemon meringue and I had chocolate melt in the middle sponge...this was to die for! Perfectly presented and baked - they could easily charge £7 for this yet it is on the menu at £3.25 (I think). This seems to be a very clever set up - its a breakfast/lunch bar by day and a steakhouse bistro by evening. The waitresses told us its a family business - then we caught sight of the chef, who looked very young! We've eaten in some very nice restaurants and this steak was one of the best we've had - the young chef has a natural talent! We will definitely be back for our next theatre trip.

Had the pre-theatre menu and was not disappointed, the fresh food was excellent, good price and had plenty of time to spare. We would definitely return and would recommend others to visit, we will certainly be going back.

When visiting this bistro we were warmly welcomed by the front of house and let the staff know that we were going to the curve afterwards, they were very attentive and made sure everything was ok - the service was fast and many if the waitresses were very happy to help I felt we were treated like old friends and would love to visit again! The food was very fresh and used good ingredients well done to the chef who was very experienced!

I attend the Curve a lot with various groups of friends and family, so finding somewhere I'd happily visit again so near to the theatre is a big plus. On this evening I was going to see a show with my mother and my 6 year old daughter. My daughter was very excited as it was her first ' grown up evening show', so I was a little anxious that she would behave in a restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table upstairs. The staff were friendly, chatty, and very kind and patient with my over-excited daughter. They spoke to us as if we were old friends and couldn't have been more helpful. Our food was all very good, and they accommodated my daughter's pasta requirements to a 't', even double-checking that she liked mushrooms before adding any to her carbonara. After our meal, the chef came to speak to us and again, made us feel very welcome. I shall definitely be visiting again.

It's unusual for me not to rate a restaurant 4 or 5 stars on here and 3 almost seems too few. However considering it's currently the 21st best restaurant in Leicester according to Tripadvisor I give it 3 more out of disappointment than anything.I attended with family (seven in total) before going to the theatre. We had been recommended the steak so most of us ordered that from the pre-theatre menu, as well as one risotto and one sea bass. Oddly, when one of us tried to order the chicken we were told there would be a half hour wait. We decided that would be ok, as most of us were having starters anyway, but the waitress didn't seem to be able to grasp this, so in the end the chicken was left unordered. For starters I had spicy parsnip soup which was very good, my favourite part of the meal. Other starters included prawn cocktail and paté. Our mains took a fair while to come (much longer than half an hour!) even though the staff knew that we were going to the theatre afterwards. I can't talk for anybody else but my steak was...ok. Nice, but nothing special. The staff were very friendly, although I think they need to work out a better system than carrying one plate up the stairs at a time - more for their benefit rather than anyone else's! It's a very cosy little place, but does have some odd touches; rather than air conditioning you get a standard, ugly white £10 floor fan.Maybe this place is a wonderful bistro during the day and a good-ish restaurant at night, or maybe we just caught them on one of their less brilliant days. The pre-theatre menu consisted of starter and a main for £14.95. There was no option to swap a starter for a pudding, although the puddings were all very reasonably priced (between £3-£4 if I remember correctly).Considering the wealth of good restaurants in Leicester it might be a while before any of us return, which is a shame.

Ate here before a Theatre trip - hadn't booked but when we arrived we told the staff that we were attending The Curve for 7.30pm (it was about 20 to 7) - order taken quickly, starters nice - Prawn Cocktails (would have been nicer with a slice of bread and butter), but disappointed with the Main, steaks - the "fresh" veg was overcooked cauliflower, sweet corn and carrots, new potatoes were undercooked - this was ordered with sauces (1 x Peppercorn and 1 x Mushroom) which they had clearly forgotten to make - whilst I was a little disappointed, this was then turned into a something else, WHEN the Waitress (who needs to learn some customer service skills pronto) serving us came to the table and virtually told us it was our fault for not booking (as they had been very busy) and it was just a little mistake ! - Hmm, as my friend pointed out, we did tell you our schedule when we arrived and clearly ordered what we did - basically they forgot the sauces - whilst they deducted the cost of the sauces (after I had ventured inside to ask where they were and saw them making them with hot water...) - this was unacceptable - either tell us at the time of arrival you haven't got the capacity to serve us before Theatre or serve us what we ordered without interrupting our meal (as it was!) to basically tell us it was OUR fault and that you hadn't "done bad" to get our meals out at 7.15 with one "little mistake" - well I don't enjoy a steak without sauce or mustard and therefore it wasn't "little" to me or my friend! The fillet steak was very nice to be fair, but the attitude of the staff was not! £39 for two meals and two soft drinks for a price indicator and have had much nicer meals for this price.

Great little burger joint. Lovely food and loads of milkshake flavours to choose from. The staff looked after our group of 6 really well, even moving a table to allow us all to eat together.
