Sankalp Restaurant in Milton Keynes

My recent visit to Sankalp Restaurant with my family was highly disappointing. The food quality was extremely poor, and for the high prices they charge, it was simply not worth it. The Masala Papad had stale tomatoes, making it inedible. Sev Puri had no feeling just Sev. The Malai Kofta was completely bland with no salt. The Paneer Tikka Masala had burnt paneer, ruining the dish. The Paneer Lababdar was watery, and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the meal left me with a stomach ache. For such high prices, I expected much better. The only positive was the excellent service from the young waitress, but good service alone can’t make up for terrible food. This place desperately needs a new chef and a revamp of its interiors. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Had a blast with my friends at the restaurant. The food service was top notch and the ambience was very good.

I’ve visited the restaurant twice this month. All the staff were very polite and attentive to our needs. Food was really tasty with all the spices. We had few of veg starters they were all full of flavour and great presentation. The manager Kinal was kind and helpful with our dietary needs too. Highly recommend this restaurant for its vegetarian dishes and ambience. Thank you to the chefs and everyone. 🙏🤗🥰

Sankalp has awesome Indian food. Once anyone goes will have plethora of foods to choose. I would recommend to stop and taste the veg/non veg thali for lunch. Staffs are very friendly and cooperative. Foods are top quality and worth for cost.

We visited as a party of 11, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding—every dish was delicious and satisfying, making it clear that the kitchen takes great pride in their offerings. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. That said, the service was slower than expected, likely due to the restaurant being short-staffed that day. Despite this, the staff remained respectful and did their best to accommodate us, which we appreciated. While the service delay was a bit of a setback, the quality of the food made up for it. We’ll definitely be returning in the future, as the food was well worth the wait.

Had Scrumptious dinner at Sankalp!!! Everything we ate was delicious and worth spending. Especially Lasuni Paneer Tikka!!!! Service was at greatest speed. Had a lovely time!!!! Will definitely come again.

Nice selection of dishes for vegetarians too. Taste is ok. For example, the Indo Chinese dishes taste much better at Himalaya Tandoori. I get a feeling at times, they have stuffed the menu with plenty of dishes but only a handful of them actually tastes good.

We had a dinner with family and ordered Tandoori mix grill sizzler, Lamb chops. It was very delicious. Lots of vegetarian and non vegetarian option. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend this place to have quality time with family.

We ordered Kadai chicken , Palak Paneer , Dal Fry , Saffron Rice and Plain naan. This restaurant doesn’t even meet 1 star. Very disappointed. Small portions , naan was dry , 2-3 pieces of chicken for the main course . The pot in which the dal fry was served was not steady. All meals were served cold . Lots of dry chillies , cardamom and whole cinnamon in the curries . Ended paying over £60 for this meal. No customer service with 8% service charge . Avoid please . Total rip off . I warn you don’t go there . Fun fact : waiter looking for a five star review after paying the bill .

Sankalp, Milton Keynes: Where Disappointment is Served Cold Picture this: a quiet Sunday evening, four occupied tables, and the promise of authentic South Indian cuisine. What we got instead was a masterclass in mediocrity. The opening act, Crispy Corn, was anything but crispy - soggy and sad, it set the tone for the evening. The Mysore Masala Dosa arrived as a soft imposter, with the masala hiding inside instead of coating the dosa whereas the order was for crispy and masala on the side. A take away order of Onion Uttapam was packed with a Tomato Onion Uttapam. And the grand finale? The Golden Crisp Dosa - burnt to a crisp, cold as stone, and 30 minutes late. Even the sambhar, the soul of a dosa, was served cold. A South Indian restaurant failing to serve warm sambhar and dosa is like a pizzeria forgetting the cheese. Service was equally uninspired. Despite just four tables, the staff seemed determined to test our patience, with orders vanishing and enthusiasm nowhere in sight. Sankalp isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a test of endurance. If you crave cold dosas, burnt edges, and soggy appetizers, look no further. For everyone else, steer clear.

Too pricey for the quality. Taste is good. Dahi poori- just tasted like eating plain poori. No tangy taste of imli and mint. dahi was just sprayed a bit on poori Kulfi- tasted like eating sand grains Chilli chicken was good. Sambar was good. Would appreciate if paneer tikka could look red. The staff attitude was awesome. The hygiene level was great.

The food was absolutely delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, the customer service fell short of expectations. After we finished and requested the bill, the manager processed the payment without exchanging a single word. When I said thank you, there was no acknowledgment, and he turned away without a proper farewell. A warm and courteous interaction would have made the experience truly exceptional.

Lovely food and great quality. We had paneer chilli milli, dosa, idli, dal and naan. we all enjoyed all items. Sizzling brownie at the end was the cherry on top.

My experience with Sankalp was not great! We ordered Dosa along with other dishes, it never came despite several reminders to manager and waiter, it came when we finished the Dinner and ask for bill, also Chef forget to add salt in Malai kofte and when Chef realized this he compensate it adding more Salt in Veg Hakka noodles :(

I visited Sankalp Restaurant in Milton Keynes yesterday, and it was a huge letdown. Paying £14 for a Kara Mura dosa was simply not justified. The dosa, chutney, and sambhar were all far below expectations – they seemed stale and lacked freshness. The chutney had an odd taste, and overall, the food quality didn’t come close to what I’ve experienced at other branches of Sankalp in India. The 10% test was definitely not met here. While the “Crispy Dosa Restaurant” was slightly better – at least it appeared freshly made – it didn’t make up for the overall poor quality. For such a high price, the food should have been much better. Sankalp India needs to take some serious action to ensure that their franchise locations uphold the brand’s reputation. After this visit, I have little desire to return.

Sankalp offers great food with authentic flavors. The Chettinad chicken curry was delicious—highly recommend asking for the spicy option if you enjoy bold flavors. The filter coffee was also excellent. Parking is available, making it a convenient spot for a tasty and satisfying meal.

We tried chicken Biryani, Chicken chetinadu, pepper Lamb. When we ordered clearly mentioned spicy, but what we got is Blend food without salt or any taste, Not satisfied with taste. Not worth to try once too. Try different options if u want to save money

Food was good. Dosa was slightly oily. Service was ok but atmosphere was like a cafe vibe slightly retro theme. Change of furniture would really change the look and remove the cheap led bubble feature. Overall food was tasty I guess that’s all that matters.

Great food and Sambhar tastes same as their original branch in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India).

Disappointing Meal Experience I recently dined at Sankalp and was left quite disappointed. We ordered a Manchow soup and a Hot and Sour soup. To our surprise, both soups tasted exactly the same, with the only difference being the presence of noodles in one. The other soup, which was supposed to be Hot and Sour, lacked any distinct flavor profile and was essentially just a noodle-less version of the Manchow soup. This inconsistency in taste and presentation was quite frustrating. We expected two distinct flavors, but instead, we received a subpar dining experience. It's disheartening to see such a lack of attention to detail and quality control.

Fantastic food, and service was great! Dharmia and colleagues were our waiters and made us feel at home - we will definitely come back again!

The food was really good as I had come here for the first time. I tried the Samosa chaat which tasted good and some mains. The service was quick and overall a good experience.

Manchurin balls were under cooked. The butter paneer gravy was not sufficiently thick. I had better experience with Sankalp in the past but can’t say the same now.

Well food was below average. Asked for tea, but I got a prepacked tea and not freshly made tea. Also did not got water and even service was like 1 hr late

Very quite and comfortable place for a dine in . Veg options are reliable . We loved the nice and mild Tawa pulav. Thee staff are very polite.

Been there yesterday First thing they are showing open at 12:00 entered their 12:15pm but we get served 13:20 litterally after one hour as staff saying that kitchen was not ready then why are you showing restaurant is open.?????? Secondly thier handling of food was too poor they guy with black jacket and specs was serving food he was literally touching tables his mobile phone and laptop with same hand and while serving touching our drinks straws top part with same bare hands. Thirdly the waiter who was serving food his mouth was full of paan which i can see on his lips and teeths. Litterly his mouth was dipped with paan while serving or may be prepping the food. I am not after and bad marketing of any kind of bad mouthing but literally i wasted my time and money in this kind of restaurant. Never gonna go their again and will inform to council as well to check their cleaniness and hygiene in kitchen as well.

Very wide range in VEGIARIAN & Non VEGIARIAN. Helpfull all & yes service assistant is good. Over all good bar/food/ parking 5 start .

I ordered the triple barrel dosa, manchurian dumplings and medu vada. Very generous portions as can see, i was very much eating with my eyes and was worth it.

Significant delay with delivery despite ordering over an hour in advance. Restaurant claimed delivery driver for Just Eat hadn't turned up yet even though even though the app said delivery driver was waiting at the restaurant. When I spoke to delivery driver, he said he hadn't been waiting long which confirmed the Just Eat app was not telling the truth. It doesn't help that Just Eat are not contactable.

It is a decent restaurant today was my second visit and everything was OK just like in any other restaurant. I remember visiting this place long back when it just started…and the chicken biryani that was served to me was JUST AMAZING… I shared my feedback with the restaurant then, as I was really impressed, they were serving real indian taste… i think now just like other restaurants they have moved it to UK indian type taste, disappointing for me but i think that is what sells here so cant blame them

Took more than 20 mins to just prepare a takeaway order for 1 vada Pav and 1 portion of onion bhajia. Although told them not to put spicy chutney as it is for a kid they did the swam mistake, I size of the vada is the smallest I have seen at the expensive price of £6.95 for a vada Pav. Will not visit or order from this restaurant and will neither recommend anybody

I will recommend everyone to visit this place, yummy food and all staff are very supportive. All staff taking care of us same as family. Test of Manchurian Dry and Dhosa no one can beat in whole UK.

Sankalp Indian Restaurant- Milton Keynes. I visited on the 29/08/2024 in the evening at 6pm. Plenty of parking directly outside. Difficult to find the entrance if you don’t know the area. The restaurant is based on the 1st floor and the entrance door is round the corner by the Peri Peri shop. Sankalp has a disabled lift for wheelchair users and less able people. When you get upstairs it is spacious with lots of seating. Not the best decor but it was okay. Vimal served us who was very polite, friendly and helpful. I did not order too much as it was the first time I was visiting. I will rate the food out of 10: Papri Chaat - 10/10, one of the best chaats I have had in the UK. Very fresh, tasty and a good portion size. The sauces tasted very nice as well. Good presentation. Masala Dosa - 10/10, large portion, great filling of spiced potatoes and vegetables which I liked, nice and crispy batter. Very tasty. Much better than Crispy Dosa next door. Vegetable Pilau - 10/10, large portion and well presented (I had already eaten some then taken a picture of the dish, apologies). First time I’ve actually liked Pilau rice at a restaurant. It was very nice and glad I ordered this. Overall the food was fantastic and so was the service. The food is much nicer than Crispy Dosa, Dipna Anand’s Kitchen, Maaya Indian Kitchen and Namji. Excellent customer service. Even the young lady bringing out our food was very friendly and polite. Very reasonably priced, in fact cheaper than other Indian restaurants in the area. The decor does not do this place justice and I would highly recommend to try Sankalp. Will most definitely visit again. Definitely a hidden gem. 5 stars all the way. Thank you to Vimal and to all the staff for the great service and food.

Best indian dining place. The staff (especially Krinal ) has been very welcoming and polite to us. We have been a usual to here for quite some time now. And have never been disappointed. Along with an elaborate menu for chaat, starters, non vegetarian and vegetarian delicacies, they have a wide range of dosa’s and uttappa’s for south indian food lovers. Todd is my go to place in India. So very pleased that I had the chance to visit the UK branch. The food to my back to India. This restaurant gives you authentic flavours of India. Our friends one of who enjoys his food was full of compliments. The people who work at the restaurant provide a no pressure service and don’t over visit you while you eat. The minor adjustments we asked for our food were catered for. We will be back.

I visited this restaurant to celebrate my Ruby wedding anniversary. We ordered vadas, dahi puri, butter chicken, lamb madras, pilau rice and some puri chole. The food was fresh and full of flavour. Vimal who served us gave us a surprise dessert with the approval of the manager to mark the occasion. They have a well stocked bar offering a variety of cocktails, spirits and beers. Plenty of gluten and dairy free options on the menu. They even cater for vegan and vegetarian diets. A very enjoyable visit with a repeat visit on the cards. Thankyou and keep up the excellent work.

My wife and I went here to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed and our drinks arrived quickly. We enjoyed the vadas and sev puri to start off the meal followed by lamb madras, butter chicken, veg pilau rice and choke puri. The food was very fresh and full of flavour. Our server Vimal and the manager organised a surprise dessert for us at the end of the meal. There is a well stocked bar here offering a wide selection of cocktails, spirits, wines and beers. There are also a good selection of vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free items on the menu. They will go out of their way to accommodate any dietary needs. A very enjoyable evening and we will be back for a repeat visit. Thank you.

The food was nice but took nearly 2 hours to come. They don’t bring food out together in a table so we had half the table finish their mains and the other half not even get their mains! Overall a poor experience with unresponsive wait staff. Such a shame as the food was very good.

I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant. We visited on a Saturday night when it was quite busy, but there were only three waiters attending to all the tables. Despite ordering just two dosas, it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold. We had to request water three times before it was brought to our table. Additionally, we waited another 15 minutes just to receive the bill. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve had. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I certainly would.

Dining at Sankalp, Milton Keynes is always a delight! The ambiance is absolutely stunning, with a perfect mix of traditional and modern decor that sets the tone for a relaxing meal. The Dosa, Rice and Manchurian is consistently amazing. The service is superb, with a team that’s always attentive and eager to ensure you have a great time. I highly recommend Sankalp, Milton Keynes for authentic Indian food.

Really enjoy dinning at Sankalp.. great authentic food that caters for all pallets. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. We have had some great gatherings here with family and friends and really do recommend it.

Me and my wife went here for a quick lunch. We went for a lovely vegetarian lunch option. The food was amazing, everything was made in house, even the naan bread and chapati. The service was great too. We are not local but will definitely visit again if we are in the area. Recommended

Visited the place with wife and daughter. The place was spacious with good ambience. Food was good especially the appetizers which were great but the main course was not that great. The staff and service were very good. Was attended to by Vimal and Krinal both of whom were very pleasant, courteous and professional. All together a good experience. Will come back and likely try other items on the menu.

One of worst experience I had, being pure vegetarian and ordered vegetarian food but served chicken( such a pathetic experience). Vegetarian family’s be careful about hey can serve you anything without considering your belief and religion

What a shame. 80s red and black decor. Staff wearing dirty uniforms. Noone came to ask us if everything was alright. The place was empty. The male waiter served with a smile. Food not good. It was all swimming in oil. See pictures. Waitress at the end said " shall I take it if you've finished?" (having already paid the obscene bill! which they had the nerve to add 8% percent service charge). We always tip for good food and good service. We were not going to do so in this case as the food was not at all tasty. I told the waitress I'm sorry but the food was so oily you can see the oil swimming on top. I could feel my stomach churning as we left. I can't see that the place will last it was empty on a Friday night. Just giving our honest opinion. Also the gentleman behind us returned his dosa and and asked them to make it properly again. So seemed to be the general consensus in an empty place. Not much ambience inside but there was much entertainment outside (thank goodness for big windows).

Definitely not value for money, £6.95 for a single Mumbai vada pav !!! that too it is smaller than the usual Vada Pav , taste also not that great.
