Papa J is a fantastic spot for authentic Indian-style Tandoori Chicken, and their green chutney is absolutely irresistible! What I really appreciate is that they customize the spice level to suit your taste, which makes the experience even better. Their fried rice and noodles are also top-notch—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend trying their dine-in experience for the full atmosphere and freshness.

I went to this restaurant and the food was disgusting. The service was just as bad. I wouldn't recommend. This is not authentic Indian food. The owner was rude and shouted at me in store . It's an all round no from me.

Not good anymore. Quality of food, services gone down drastically. It was good when they started the business, but not anymore. Felt too much oil, frozen reheated/old food reheated...just waste of money

The food quality is amazing, I love every bite of it, however they prices are quite expensive (for example, a starter of Chilli Paneer costs £8). But it is much better to eat during the day rather than the evening, as the prices are more reasonable (The same Dish costs around £4.50 - £5.00). Other than the price issue, the food is delicious, lots of aromatic flavors that will make your mouth watering with delight! and the staff are very helpful!

I’ve been visiting Papa J’s for many years and always had pleasant experiences, so after almost two years away, I decided to return, expecting the same great service. Unfortunately, what I got was the complete opposite. From the start, things felt off. Our server decided to open the blinds directly behind us on a bright, sunny day, letting sunlight glare right into our eyes. When we asked for it to be closed, the blind broke—no big deal, so we moved to another table. Then, when placing our order, the waiter asked if we wanted drinks. We politely declined, saying we’d just like water. He then asked again if we were sure, making the interaction awkward. The real shocker came when our food arrived. The waiter dropped a quarter of our naan on the floor. Mistakes happen, but instead of simply replacing it, he went to the kitchen, returned, and asked if we were okay with just ¾ of our naan. I couldn’t believe it. When I said no, he smugly replied, “Making ¼ of a naan is not possible.” At this point, I had to firmly tell him that I expected a full naan, whether that meant making a new one or otherwise. Only then did they finally replace it. When I spoke to another server about the situation, he casually admitted, “Oh, he’s always like this, bothering customers.” That alone was appalling. I requested that the original server stay away from our table, but of course, that didn’t happen. He continued serving us and, unbelievably, asked yet again if we wanted drinks—despite us already declining multiple times. To top it off, when we asked for the bill, he sarcastically asked if it was our first time there, as if we were the ones who didn’t understand their standard of service. I simply told him I’d been there many times and just wanted the bill. This experience was beyond disappointing—especially since I had spoken highly of Papa J’s to the people I was dining with. With so many new restaurants opening in Milton Keynes, poor service like this is unacceptable. Papa J’s is now off my list, and I won’t be recommending it to anyone again. I recently tried the chicken biryani at Papa J's, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. I loved flavourful the rice was and the staff was very friendly Definitely a 5-star experience Can't wait to go back for more.

I had my first meal at Papa J’s Indian Restaurant Milton Keynes, and it was absolutely extraordinary! The food was incredibly delicious, bursting with authentic flavors—exactly what you’d expect from a top Indian restaurant. The service was impeccable, and Shiva was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The ambiance was also great, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing dinner. Everything exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

Great food, great vibes! Had an amazing meal at Papaji Da Dhaba. The butter chicken was rich and flavorful, and the naan was fresh and fluffy. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Definitely coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A disappointing demise! Papa J’s used to produce excellent food, however, over the last 2 years the quality has been on consistent downward trajectory. The takeaway I received last night was poor, with the food far too heavily salted, the Lamb dish had a thicker layer of oil than the layer of sauce and the 2 combined portions of Gulub Jaman at a total price of £9.00 consisted of just 4 tiny pieces. To top it off, the food arrived stone cold. It’s sad to see the demise.

Papa Js has always been one of my favourite Indian restaurants in MK until I ordered a takeaway yesterday. I was so disappointed. We ordered a portion of sheek kebabs for £9.95 and recieved a small box of small pieces of kebabs. Sheek kebabs are meant to be left long but it looked as though they had been cut to make the portion look bigger than what it was. We also ordered a prawn biryani for £14.95 and found a total of 6 prawns in there. Utterly shocking. In total, our order came to £42 and we couldn’t believe we had wasted our money on small portions and very average tasting food. What happened to the amazing quality that used to be?! Such a shame.

Three of us visited PapaJ’s for my birthday meal, and it was a truly disappointing experience. The food arrived stone cold, and despite us expressing our concerns, the manager was unwilling to make any adjustments to the bill. After going back and forth, he finally said he would only take £5 off, which felt like an insult given the poor experience. We were also seated away from the main restaurant area, which completely lacked atmosphere. This has ruined my birthday, and I would seriously reconsider returning.

I first came to this branch in 2021 and went a few times, the quality was fantastic with the last time I went being in 2022 (I enjoyed it the last time I went but had moved further away from MK). I went again in 2025 and the menu had changed drastically and even the methods of preparation along with recipes, the lamb in the curry was a bit tough and very bland and in the fish curry it was pretty bland too with the only thing saving it being the sauce it was in. The Chaptata Wings were luke warm in the centre and barely hot.

Was asked if we wanted poppadoms when we arrived,we said yes but they never arrived, when checking the bill we was charged for them ,the food was nice though,I dont think I will be returning to the restaurant as there are better Indian restaurants in mk,
