Amazing food, came for a lovely Friday dinner and impressed with the good service

One of the best Indian restaurants in Milton Keynes and the food is so delicious and the service is so fast 💫💫

Great food, for either the buffet on a Sunday or a la carte any other day of the week. A local gem.

Excellent evening from walking through the door to when we left. As a Friday night, we booked for an early slot (1815) and was surprised how quiet it was, but as the evening progressed it did become more busy, so if you are looking for later it is advisable to reserve a table. We ordered 4 tapas - chilly garlic mogo, paneer Mongolian, tandoori chicken, and crispy fried prawns. The mogo has always been a favourite as have many paneer dishes, the batter with prawns was a little soft- not soggy by any means but not as crispy as expected but didn't complain as they were amazing still! Large juicy prawns full of flavour as was the chicken, hubby found it a little too spicy but as he said, it's personal preference but still ate his share! Unfortunately, we forgot to ask our waiters' names, but full marks for courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness, another reason why we had such a lovely, relaxing evening and why we will be back soon. If you like excellent food, attentive staff and a nice evening out, Papa J's is your place.

Aww full experience. Came with children and left out with empty stomach and paid bill for Buffet. All the food bowls are empty by the time (we Came at 1.30) we Came and informed the team to fill them. We went like 4 times to check if the food refilled but it didn't. Stood there holding the plate and requested the staff to fill it and left out after standing for sometime. I believe there is only 2 staff and they noticed we requested for food, noticed we didnt get it, noticed we are leaving because the food isn't refilled on time. None of them of Courtsey of asking atleast or apologizing for the delay. I personally feel so sorry for my child and husband to being to this place. They shouldn't make a buffet if they can't filling time

The food was very nice and the atmosphere was also lovely. The prices were reasonable and the service was also very nice.

Great food, quick service, kind staff highly recommend everything especially paneer butter masala and butter naan best thing that I ever tasted in my life they also give you discount vouchers for dry cleaning at the restaurant. Overall great location and there is always parking.

We were greeted with the floral smell of incense sticks and A beautiful idol decorated with garlands. As we entered, we were embraced with the warmth of the spices. The food was spectacular; the starters were ordered were sizzling hot and filled with flavour, while the main course was delicious. The staff were quite friendly and welcoming and treated us to some dessert as well! My family loved the food and the overall experience, and we would definitely come here again!

I tasted Papa J's food in a local event and quite liked it and am regular at there restaurant, I definitely recommend to try there Hyderabadi biryani and mirchi bajji in starters

The biryani here is almost like the real thing, full of flavour and cooked just right. The brunch options are also really good, with a nice variety of dishes that are well-prepared. A great spot for both biryani lovers and brunch seekers!

One of the best Milton Keynes restaurants for Indian cuisine

Usually for me this Indian restaurant is 5stars but as a repeat customer for the last few months we’ve always had this lovely waitress but we have came back a few times in the past few weeks but haven’t seen her anywhere? Food was as usual my kids like the butter chicken although sometimes it’s far too spicy but the hospitality is what pulled us in but we just haven’t had the same service since the lady, which makes us not want to return as it’s not the same.

Well as a group we all go out every month to different places and we heard papa j came highly recommended, well I recommend don’t bother, we got there we’re sat down straight away, we all had a vibe that this place was not what we heard, actually we all nearly walked out, reason it took half an hour to get the drinks, then eventually poppadoms 1 each, with the smallest Chutney dips Ever seen, Actually, we had to ask for another set of dips because they were so small that the three they bought out was just not gonna be enough for the six of us, Anyway, we eventually got to order our food. We all quite specific on what we wanted an hour later the start turns up I mean okay the starters were okay not too bad basically I had chips. I didn’t really know what to expect. They were spicy chips, (1) got this papa dish which was basically just to poppadoms with salad on and they all and all the poppadoms were soggy anyway from the salad, And the simplest starter came out last, which was just odd two poppadoms salad and even before that was eaten they started bringing out the main dishes, Well, what we ordered was definitely not what they bought out. I asked for my dish to be madras hot. I asked for chilli rice well those absolutely no spice to it whatsoever and they bought out those chilli And to bring out some more chilli rice well that wasn’t chilli rice either it was hot but not chilli hot. It was just hot hot. All the rest of the food what we ordered it all looked the same and it had no taste and no Spice absolutely awful, Service was atrocious as well. We all agreed that we weren’t gonna pay full price for this meal because it just wasn’t worth it so we asked for a discount and to be fair they gave us discount with kind of made up for the lack Luster attempts of what was sit down. So my overall rating of this pappa J Terrible Food terrible Service and I don’t recommend this. Before I left, I did tell the fellow beyond the bar, but this is by far the worst restaurant with we’ve ever ate in.

Service was extremely slow, waited 30 mins to be asked for drinks, starters took and hour to come out and all at random times, the last starter came out and then the mains straight after that so we still had all plates from starter on the table with no space. Then the mains were below mediocre if I'm honest, I asked for a jalfrezi and it was about as spicy as a korma, and had next to no taste, the rice was just dry and most of the chicken was dry and chewy, pretty disappointed if I'm honest. I know there was a large group there at the time, but this doesn't excuse the bad quality of food, especially for what you are paying, all other Indian restaurants I have been to are miles better and I really don't see the point in wasting your time coming here.

This is my genuine review on Papa J restaurant. I visited this place almost near to their closing hours, I was bit concerned about the late arrival; but all the staffs around there just surprised me with their highly appreciatable hospitality and service. The food Was incredibily awesome and authentic, well served and presented. I would highly recommend Papa J for those who strive for some worth the money food and service. Been going here for a few years now, the Indian tapas are absolutely lovely(especially the chatpata wings), I always go for the chicken jalfrezi for the curry which is great, the staff are always welcoming and the restaurant has a nice comforting vibe, one of the best in MK!

Absolutely loved dining at this authentic Indian restaurant! The food was bursting with rich, traditional flavors, and every dish was prepared to perfection. Ordered vegetable noodles and tandoori chicken. Tandoori chicken is good in portion and taste as well but noodles is stale and looks like they gave old noodles after putting green chillies in it (i told them i need spicy). Previous vegies and chillies are different in color and the fresh one are different. Hard to chew and too much salt. I know these people have buffet system but it doesnt mean you will give the order from your lunch buffet in the night for delivery.

Ordered a vegetarian barbecue box. Different vegetables and paneer but all covered in a single marinade so everything tasted the same. No salads or sauces despite what was advertised. And no word back from the restaurant despite me reaching out to them to express my disappointment several days ago. It's a shame because their usual menu items are decent but £40 (£10 per person) for what we were given is outrageous.

We eat curry at least once a week and I think this has been the best I have ever tasted. I had the paneer tikka masala it was truly delicious. Quite expensive for the food but well worth it and conversely the drinks were reasonably priced so overall the total bill wasn’t that more than we normally pay. The dishes could be smaller. I brought 1/2 mine home.

Food was AMAZING and the Farhan was a wonderful waitress! Very very happy customers!

You could go here and order a dish for yourself, probably with rice and have a really enjoyable meal, but there's so much that's good, the best way to enjoy Papa Js is to go in a group and share the food. This way you have lot's of good experiences, not just one! 😊

We just had a meal with family at Papa J's, Milton Keynes and really enjoyed our evening out. We ordered from the tapas dishes; there were some great choices and the food was well-prepared and full of flavour. We all liked every dish we ordered. The service was also good, very polite and attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely be going back.

Really excellent food along with kind workers.

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The food came out so slow. The waiters were all young and inexperienced and clearly had no idea how to deal with big orders. They were trying to serve multiple tables at once and kept on giving the wrong food. One waiter even spilled a glass of beer on some poor chap's coat. Half of our table got their food whilst the rest were waiting for theirs. I ate when everyone else on my table was finished which was very depressing. The quality of food was inconsistent, some of the dishes were nice but then they go and give us chicken that wasn't fully cooked. Everything felt disjointed, i got everything at different times. My chicken came first which was getting cold by and the time my biryani came. Then they gave my naan 15 minutes before my main, by the time the curry came the naan was cold and I had to wait longer for a fresh one. We were treated poorly and the service was terrible. The food came out to deliveroo orders faster than the people dining in. The manager was very defensive when it came to paying the bill, he firstly denied that we waited well over an for our food, then blamed the slow service on the fact they had a lot of online orders, which is just not good enough. He tried to brush it aside by saying that he didn't charge us for the chicken dish that was raw (which is a given 🙄) and his maths was all over the place. It was just a disappointment from start to end. This was during Christmas time 2022, hopefully they improved their quality since then but I won't ever be going there again to see if they have.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this restaurant and feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. I ordered a takeaway consisting of a chicken curry and lamb samosas, and the quality of the food was shockingly poor. The chicken curry contained pieces that were clearly inedible, including a chicken neck with thick skin and even a chicken foot! The lamb samosas were equally disappointing, with meat that tasted of very poor quality. I immediately returned the food to the store and requested to speak with the manager. I was given a half-hearted excuse before being transferred to the owner, who assured me he would investigate and get back to me the same evening. It has now been two days, and I have yet to hear back from anyone at the restaurant. This experience has demonstrated how little this establishment values customer feedback and satisfaction. I have attached pictures for reference to show the unacceptable quality of the food. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs! Photos attached.

Food was not good. We have ordered tandoori pomfret because it was their special menu list but seems fish was not fresh and too expensive. I won't recommend this to anyone.

This restaurant was superb!!! we couldn't fault it, a good atmosphere & the food was delicious... It was booked for over 60 people today & they even gave me some food to take home as a gesture of good will.... If you like asian cuisine, then this is the place to go.

This restaurant is amazing! The food and service are both fantastic. It's one of my favourite places to eat in Milton Keynes. Their food is so tasty, especially the chilli panner and chilli Mongolian. The atmosphere is really nice too making it a lovely evening out for friends and families. If you haven't been here already, I highly recommend a visit

It was our first time for breakfast at Papa J's! It was a buffet which had afew dishes to choose from. Everything we had was really tasty with just the right flavours!! The masala chi was lovely and ended up having lots of cups! It was a great treat to have an traditional breakfast, service was great! Would highly recommend 👌
