Cafe Balti in Milton Keynes

Used this company 1 year ago and it was amazing, went there today and asked for a lamb Rogen josh and requested not hot and it was inedible, I also asked for 3 poppadoms and got one and 2 in a separate bag folded up and burnt, this will be the last time I use this company no care taken at all.

We ordered a family takeaway, and whilst the main meal itself was very nice, I was dumb struck to see I’d paid £3.50 for 2 very small samosas and £3.50 for 4 onion bajhis that I could have fitted in the palm of my hand. So we won’t be ordering off of the starter menu again sadly.

Terrible customer service. Forgot half our order then took over 30mins to send out. Then when called they said to microwave the meal as it was cold!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again will I order from here nor will any of my family and friends. Should hang their head in shame. Disgraceful! Food was bland. Not a proper Indian takeaway at all!!! Go elsewhere better Indian takeaways than this dive!!!

Food is always absolutely delicious from here but tonight they went above and beyond to get my food to me when my UberEats driver let us down, delivering the food personally. I always order direct but only used UberEats because of a promotion tonight. Thank you so much guys 🙏🏻

We have ordered from Cafe Balti many times for a number of years now and I have to say we've never been disappointed. It's lovely food and reasonably priced. Easy to order through the normal channels but if you go in the staff are friendly too. Would recommend the set meal for 2 but then its all nice.

Ordered a take out. Order was correct and was ready on time. The contents however were average at best, barely warm and things that should have been crisp were soggy. Disappointed.

We ordered through Deliveroo. We have ordered food from many restaurants in Milton Keynes, we try to use independents so we thought we would try Cafe Balti as never ordered from them before. No flavour to any dishes - tandoori chicken main was dry. Saag paneer is our favourite, this dish however was strange and so sweet it was inedible. We had a couple of other dishes but the worst was the overcooked onion bajjis and the Paratha bread which should be flaky, what we received was a dough like substance thick with oil. Again inedible. I have been in contact with the restaurant requesting a refund alas they have ignored me. We won't be using them again, and would not recommend!

Got a takeout on the Friday night, Saturday/Sunday vomiting and well you know what else, never been so ill in my entire life, it had to be the rice as my partner didn’t eat any and she was fine. Rice is deadly when not treated correctly. The comedian Kevin bridges jokes about “Hoose Rrice” well I can tell you he’s got a point. When these restaurants are trying to complete lots of orders standards slip and customers like me pay the price. You won’t be seeing me again I promise.

Great customer service, good food, favourite meals were the jalfreizi, chicken chat puri and the onion bhajis!

This was not the first time we have ordered a takeaway from Cafe Balti and it was delicious yet again, proving that the standards are consistently high. The Balti Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi tasted out of this world, the chicken was so tender and the flavours were out of this world. thoroughly recommend Cafe Balti

I normally only write a review when something is bad, and so few meals or takeaways we order are ever that great however our takeaway tonight from Cafe Balti was really lovely. We both REALLY really enjoyed our meal which never happens. Highly recommend.

Bloody lovely takeaway curry every time! The food is so delicious I always eat far too much. Chicken curries, paneer curries, soft naans, onion bahjis, everything is wonderful. Our go to curry house from now on...

I have never complained on Trip Advisor before but I was very upset about my evening there which is a real shame as I have been there before and really enjoyed myself. It was clear from the time we arrived that takeaways were being prioritised and me and my guests were badly neglected from the beginning to the end. Having arrived in plenty of time to allow for the 10pm closure, we were rushing our food which eventually arrived at 9.30. We could not attract attention in order to order drinks, our food order for the main course was muddled up and my husband didn't even get a specific item he wanted. I have emailed the restaurant (on the 18th) but as yet have not had a reply which is why I am putting this onto Trip Advisor.

Had a really good take away great food and quick delivery will use again when in the area on business.

First time ordered from cafe balti, looking something new at the deliveroo page and checking on their reviews for Indian restaurant this Cafe Balti vomes up on the third list.Then we took our chance/ luck ordered from here, the results was very very happy with the taste & portions :)The only a bit annoying was from you pay to the time they start delivering it’s taking more than an hr (1hr 20mnts) I do understand it was Saturday night. But when we start eating oooh my God the foods was tasty Very happy new customer here :)

We always love eating at Cafe Balti because the people are really lovely and accommodating, the food is delicious and the value for money is unbelievably great. We had a takeaway from them last week and it really was one of the tastiest takeaways I've ever had. The food was plentiful and we saved some for another meal so we got to eat it twice! Really couldn't recommend Cafe Balti enough. We've been in the past for birthday meals and the room has been decorated beautifully for the occasion.

Today was my third takeaway and it just get better every time. If you love a hot curry then the Vindaloo is a go to curry. The Korma and the Tikka Masala are delicious mild options. I would highly recommend any curry. Absolutely the best lamb chops in town.

I've reviewed this unpretentious but excellent place before, and eaten here several times, most recently with five cousins. All agreed the food was superb and good value, with friendly attentive service.Only glitch was the tea at the end, served in handle-less glasses which are hard to hold full of hot liquid. But don't let that put you off, this is a great place to eat, and I will definitely be back!

Delivered on time. Very polite, as mentioned the chops were 10/10 but the madras was slightly dry and no kick to it at all. Would give them another try

We have eaten in and had a takeaways and its always amazing staff are always so friendly,last time we went we asked for recommendations as we wanted to try something new both curries were so good even though one was too hot for me to eat too much of it but my partner loved it! We will be back!

A group of ten of us booked a family meal on Saturday evening. From the moment we walked in, we were made most welcome. The staff went out of their way to please us and the food was very colourful and flavoursome. We all had a great evening and was not rushed. Very much a place to visit regularly, this clean small nicely appointed restaurant serves a four course banquet from Monday till Thursday for the astonishing price of £9.95 . Food is tasty and plentiful, and the friendly staff will bring boxes to take away what you're too full up to finish. They also do regular takeaways. My recent visit was my third and certainly won't be my last.

On recommendation we decided to order from here. I can honestly say the food was amazing, your chef should be very proud of his work. Such amazing flavours in both of our dishes. We will be ordering again soon or we may even pop in for dinner. Thanks for the wonderful food

I’ve been sampling curry all round the UK for years. Used to use Cafe Balti when I first moved to Haversham but it went off the boil.

Went in here on a quiet Tuesday evening this week with my wife for some dinner.

Cafe Balti is now under new management with new menu but food as fantastic as ever. Service just right. Had an amazing fish curry. Partner enjoyed his chicken tikka masala. Can't wait to go back.

Came here for my husbands birthday in a large group the guys at cafe balti really looked after us and gave us excellent service and were so friendly and a good laugh. We had great delicious food which was excellent value for money!! Would come back here again and recommend to everyone!!

We visit Cafe Balti time and time again. The banquet nights are an absolute feast and such good value at £10 for a starter, main course, side dish, rice and naan - it's wonderful and the food is always delicious. We went this week for our grandad' s birthday and they had fully decorated the table with balloons and confetti- it was so thoughtful! Would recommend definitely.

We went with a big group on Xmas eve and had a fab time. The food was exceptional and the service excellent. They even gave us a free korma for the kids to try which was really sweet. The vegetable biryani and tarka dahl were the outstanding dishes for us. Not the most glamorous of dining rooms but brilliant for big groups and we will 100% be going back!!

Ordered a takeaway last night after an hour called to check where the order was to be told the old owner has control of the Website and they hadn't received it. Asked if we'd like to put another order on and they would get it to us ASAP. Went ahead with order which took another hour. No apologies when delivered. We still paid full price and had very poor service. Food was OK but after two hours wait we won't be ordering again

When you go into Cafe Balti you get the sense that you will be very well looked after. The manager Dilly gives you a warm smile as soon as you walk in making it feel like you have known him for years. The restaurant is cosy, clean and comfortable inside. Service is excellent and prompt. I ordered the south Indian Garlic chicken, which was delicious with a tangy, spicy sauce, the onion rice was light and savoury. My 5 year old son had the chicken tikka with egg fried rice I've never seen him eat so much for dinner!

Tried on a friends recommendation and well worth it. Food was very tasty and the atmosphere was calm and comfortable. Reasonably priced too

Having enjoyed takeaways from here I decided to eat in and was not disappointed. The staff were notably friendly and helpful, excellent service, topped up by a liqueur on the house at the finish. I was in a party of four and we all ordered different things and sampled them all - I had chicken satkora, a dish I've not seen elsewhere, and which has a lovely lemony taste. The prices were extremely reasonable. I will be back!

After a busy day we decided to have a take away from Cafe Balti just to try it out. We always order our curries from Stony Stratford (Naidni). Food was bland, with no depth at all.Seems like some spices were added on top and called it a curry. Samosas and pacoras were beyond greasy and the salads came in small plastic bags like trash and were soggy and pretty bad. Naan was ok but nothing special. Same quality you get at Tescos.We won't order again as we do not like to experiment with our food especially when we are hungry. Shame though, it seems that the food was not cooked to Indian standards and that is why it tasted bad.

I tried takeaway a couple of times and found certain dishes which I paid a bit extra for were a bit watery. Staff friendly enough and sometimes given a free drink on collecting takeaway. Prices quite keen but it's in a very competitive area, so plenty of other places to try. And that's how this episode ended. May try again if they have a special offer.

Always a well loved takeaway/eat in of mine, these guys are always happy to help and greet you with such open arms, brilliant service & lovely food ! More restaurants should be like this.

We were staying in Milton Keynes after being at Wembley for the Championship playoff final and needed a pick me up as the result had not gone out way, so we headed for our usual curry stop Cafe Balti, as always the food was good, Shami and Sheek kebabs for staters, Chicken and Lamb balti's for main each comming with a naan I opted to change mine to garlic from the normal tandoori. The portions as in the past were more than enough and due to the earlier disappointment of Wembley we could not finish our mains, when the bill arrived the manager had given us a 20% discount as he thought we had not enjoyed the food, which we had. The only negative was there were only ourselves and another table of four in at 9:00 pm on a Saturday evening.

Nice and friendly with good food. If you do a takeaway they will add extras. Not really suitable for large parties but upto with would be fine. The only problem is that it is in a rather run down area in Wolverton. I don't think I could take any business colleagues there, a pity as it's rather nice. I hear all the area is going to be redeveloped so worth checking out...

We ordered take away food from here. It was really nice, each dish, including side dishes has their own flavour. Sometimes with side dishes they taste the same as if the same base is used for each one. We found the service quick, especially when collected. We were offered a drink whilst we waited for our food, the staff were very friendly. Will be using them again.

Only complaint might be that the service was a bit slow but we were in celebrating a birthday so we were in no hurry and this didn't bother us.We did the banquet deal which is £9.99 and you choose a starter, main, naan, side and rice. It's a lot of food for the price. Four of us ate and we all agreed the food was excellent, i don't think there was a single dish we were disappointed with.

I am usually found here on a Thursday evening. Good Bangladesh food and Bangla beer. Chef is happy to prepare dishes off of the menu.

The food was super. It was quiet and there wasnt screaming kids like you can find at other restaurants. The staff at the Indian were pleased to help whenever you wanted assistance. The service was excellent

One of our once a week reesturants Cafe Balti is consistently good food with helpful staff. Always happy to enhance the menu descriptions with a comprehensive explanation of dishes and will reccomend based on the type of things you like.

Would just like to say how much this has improved over the last few months since the new owners started. Food quality and service is fantastic. New owner very friendly and could not do any more to make sure everything is done for a great evening out. One of our local restaurants we dine here about once a fortnight (since September 2014). Consistently good quality food, well cooked with a good menu choice.Well worth a try.

This is probably the hardest review to give after years (and I mean years) of eating here and showing undivided loyalty to this restaurant over that time - but late last year we (as a family) felt this place died a little when the two brothers who were running this delightful balti house (along with their sons as waiters) decided to sell up and move on...The standard of the food definitely suffered as did the attitude to quality of what was leaving the kitchen both in terms of dining in and and takeway food.Our most recent visit for a takeaway (and we had eaten here well in excess of 100 times over the years) ironically turned out to be our last - the wait for the food was nearly 1 hour during which time there was 3 or 4 customers returning their takeways - either the wrong order handed to them or items missing, right up the last one while we were there who had come back in because his main course was missing and his mixed grill was unedible (something I saw with my own eyes)...How here was my introduction to the *new* manager who had bought out our friends - the brothers business... Upon inspecting the offending mixed grill - he took it out to the kitchen and returned 2 minutes later with a seemingly *new* mixed grill and the missing main course curry that the customer had asked for...now comes the shocking part... upon the customer going to leave the manager walked over to him and told him "in future to go somewhere else for your food and dont bother coming back here" - myself and the missus sat shocked over what he had just said and with that he turned to us and said he didnt want customers like that in his restaurant and then went further by saying there was nothing wrong with the offending mixed grill and that he had simply takien it back into the kitchen - repacked it and given it back to the customer and believe me he took great pleasure in boasting this to us... To be honest we were just glad when our food arrived and we got out of there but it left us thinking if he could treat another customer like that then he could do it to us too if a problem arose and so we will not be returning.I will say that both us and the kids loved this place and the previous staff there and we were all good friends and they treated my children like their own but its completely changed sadly!

This is a small but fairly traditional restaurant slightly tucked away in Wolverton but well worth a try. I enjoy Indian food and during 30 years living in MK have tried many of the local Indian restaurants and so many are just the same food. The food here seems just that little bit different.

It was the first time we'd tried this restaurant and we had a great meal. As it was a weekday night it was 5 courses for £9.95. The food was smashing, very tasty and big portions. Including drinks our bill for two came to just over £30. Great value. Upon bringing the bill the very polite and friendly staff also offered us free drinks on the house. We'll certainly be back.

Me and my partner always go to Cafe Balti when we don't feel like cooking. It's the best local curry house! Food's much better than in the 2 other Indian restaurants near Cafe Balti.Waiters are very friendly and look after customers very well. Last night they were even offering drinks on the house, but we were already too full after eating that yummy curry so we didn't have any free drinks.Very pleased with this restaurant.

After a busy day out at an event we weren't in the mood for cooking so decided to get a takeaway from Cafe Balti. Living in Wolverton Mill, Cafe Balti has been a curry house that we have frequented on and off for around 10 years, and has typically provided Indian cuisine from good to excellent. Tonight however we were incredibly disappointed.The two main dishes (Rajshahi dleight and Chicken Rezala) did not in the slightest resemble the same dishes that we have had many times before and, in fact, they tasted pretty much the same apart from one had a lump of cinnamon and the other was overpowered with coriander. We don't think either actually contained any other spices at all. I was compelled to eat the whole chillis just to get some sensation from the lack lustre offering. Odd thing was that when I went in there were no familiar faces so I am wondering if there are new owners and a new chef. I also had an incredibly long wait which they explained was due to making sure the large chicken pieces (which turned out to be not so large!) were cooked. The fact I ordered this by phone at 7.23pm, was told 30 minutes, and eventually walked out with my 'curry' at 8.10pm was maybe a hint that something was not right. Maybe the chef didn't turn up for work today.Unfortunately this experience, from a once consistently good curry house, has left us reluctant to return. Great shame.

Visited Cafe Balti numerous times with Gamster. Always have a great meal here, reasonably priced too. There a of Curry restaurants in and around the Milton Keynes area and we think this is one of the best and most authentic for sure. A wide choice of food options and good service to. So many curry restaurants around Milton Keynes just seem to have one sauce that they make either hotter or change the meat in depending what you order whereas we always find much variation in the Cafe Balti. The waiters are on hand also to suggest dishes and go into detail with ingredients etc Price wise in the week its great value too. We had poppadoms, starters, a main each, a vegetable dish each, rice each and a naan each with a few drinks for about £20 each!

I am a regular at the Cafe Balti for takeaways and family meals. It is a small, mid-budget restaurant that offers a good range of choices on the menu.The decor is good and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Service is generally good, although they struggled a bit to cope with the demand on New Year's eve. The prices are very reasonable and represent good value for money. It's not high-end dining, for that you go to the Jaipur and pay twice as much, but it's a good place to go for a nice curry in a comfortable setting at a price that won't break the bank.

The food here was good and the service was excellent. The prices were good and we were given complimentary drink with the bill. However there were a few small things that rather let them down. One of our dinner plates had two large chips on the rim and should never have been used to serve customers. The flowers were artificial and one of us had duck that had been overlooked and was tough. The after dinner mints were frankly cheap and nasty. Having said this, the decor is nice. With ya little more care and a few more pence spent they would be worth an excellent rating.

I had ordered a meal for one, got it home and the naan bread was burnt the poppadoms were stale the chicken had more bone than meat the sheash kebab was soggy the meal was very poor, we thought we would try somewhere different as we always go to raj dynasty in new bradwell which are cheaper and u get a lot more food and its fresh. will not be returning here .

The Café Balti is a friendly little restaurant and takeaway in Wolverton. Parking is good, and you can often park right outside. The welcome is warm, and there are perhaps a dozen tables, or you can have a takeaway. There is a good, imaginative menu, with some good vegetarian options, and by no means are all the options Balti based. The service is just right, not too fast or slow, and the price is good. We like going there. It is a step down from the Jaipur in Central MK, but the price is lower than 50% of what you will pay at the Jaipur.That's if you order off the menu. If you go on one of the special offer days, you get a really good choice for £9.99. A good choice for an evening out.

I recently went with two friends to this great little restaurant. One friend was from Florida, the other from Jersey. Inside the décor is modern and attractive. But the 3 meals we had were outstanding. We had normal starters, which were tasty, but the main courses which were recommended were really great. I was recommended Mon Passand Khana - tandoori lamb, chicken and kebab in a wonderful spicy sauce. My friends had Murgh Masala (which I tasted and was gorgeous) and Chicken Shaslik Bhuna - equally gorgeous. We had 2 pillau rices and one mushroom garlic rice, three different nan breads, three tasty vegetable side dishes and two bottles of red house wine, which was very drinkable and remarkably good value. The total bill for all three of us, including the 2 bottles of wine, was £50, and we were then given a Cointreau each. That is REMARKABLY good value for such a wonderful meal! I have read some of the other comments and just don't understand them. Perhaps they are referring to home deliveries - because the staff were very attentive in the restaurant and everything was perfect. The only thing that was missing was atmosphere - not because it was not nice inside - it is very nice inside, but because there were so few people. But then, it was a Monday, and probably not the most popular evening to eat out.

Incapable of taking accurate telephone orders, try to complain and its all your fault you did not order correctly. Will never have another takeaway from her. I assume they are making so much money they do not need to care about thier customers.

Superb flavours, brilliant staff, nothing is too much trouble. Can't see what you want on the menu? Just ask and they'll do their best to produce it. For me, this is the best Indian restaurant for the food in Milton Keynes. The rest are just sloppy imitations. So good there are 18 of us going back on Sunday evening. :-)

They are great as a new customer but loyalty means nothing to them. The more frequent you order the worse it gets. From missing orders having to have re delivered to missing items and cold food. Never again for me!!!!!

We love the Cafe Balti. The staff are great, especially the young guys, the food is very tasty and authentic and you can talk the staff and tailor it (hotter or milder) as you wish. The food is reasonably priced, in general a meal for four of us, with drinks will cost £70 - 80, this includes Popadoms, starters,side dishes, naans, rice, drinks, mains etc. We think its great value, great food and a nice quiet environment. I would definitely recommend. If you did have a problem, the staff are quick to replace/replenish - no questions asked. This is not the place to take children, I wouldnt recommend, the retaurant is quite intimate and children tend to be quite bored and restless in the space. For couples and adult family meals though, it is great.

A poor experience, with so much competition this was a disastrous experience, food was greasy and tasteless, and the service unfriendly, seemingly unable to right a poor dish, the Eastern Paradise nearby knocks spots off this place!

Cafe Balti is probably the restaurant that has had more business from me than any other! It is in the 'unfashionable' part of Milton Keynes but this presents no problem for me as it is within walking distance. The location is the only negative I can find. With several awards to its name, the food is fresh and fantastic. I have now eaten over half the dishes on the menu (not at one sitting!) and is of consistently high quality. The welcome is warm and friendly and the decor contemporary. Value for money is excellent and service is attentive without being invasive. If there was an award for consistency in providing an excellent dining experience Cafe Balti would get my vote.

This review would be worse had it not been from a very pleasant member of staff, food portions a little on the small size and beer served was flat and watery which was dissapointing considering the prices. Decor is begining to look tired and needs a little work.Food is good but on the small size not bad but I wouldn't eat here again.

I live between Stony and Wolverton so I am spoiled for choice with some very good Indian restaurants in the area.I have visited the Cafe Balti with colleagues and often drop in for a takeaway. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are happy to chat or leave you in peace! The interior is very tastefully decorated and laid out and is intimate without being at all cramped. The menu has many dishes with a choice of contemporary Cafe Balti specials as well as most of the old favorites. I have tried many of the dishes on offer and they have all been top notch without exception. The prices are very reasonable but you are not compromising quality for price here! Some restaurants are generally very good but then have the occasional 'off' day. Happily the Cafe Balti has not suffered from this problem in my experience! There are some excellent Indian restaurants in the area, particularly just down the road in Stony Stratford, and this restaurant is in the top tier for cuisine.I have no hesitation in recommending Cafe Balti on here or to people I know.

Wanted a pre gig curry before going to the nearby Craufrud Arms and happened upon Cafe Balti in a pleasant Wolverton neighbourhood. I had already read a couple of local reviews which were spot on. This place is a real find. Simple, elegant decor, staff that treat their patrons very well and even address them by name - a nice touch if you are a regular. Food was good value and very well cooked. I had the meat Thali at 12.95 with Lamb And Chicken dishes, tandoori chicken and sheekh kabab, rice, nan all well presented and very tasty. I will go back for more. Nice work Cafe Balti my new favourite Baltimore House in Milton Keynes!

This has been our regular haunt from approaching 10 years.. Some of the best Indian food in the area. The service is consistently excellent, the food i consistently amazing, the atmosphere is always relaxed and happy. Takeaway and deliver service similarly great !

Friendly, attentive staff serving quality Indian foods at exceptional & competitive prices. Catering for any number in a party, big or small. Take away or eat in, the service and food quality remain the same - you have to wait a little longer for your food than the usual 15 minutes some other establishments require BUT it is definitely worth waiting for.
