Cafe Balti in Milton Keynes

I have been ordering from Cafe balti for over 10 years now. We had placed a order that apparently was not received on the website. We phoned Cafe balti to confirm delivery after we had booked it for 18.00 hrs. The management told my wife it was OK and that the order will be delivered in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I called and was kept on the phone for a further 10 minutes on hold. I got my wife to call again and she was told that no order was received. I phoned and complained and instead off understanding the situation they tried to blame us for the order. Even arguing with me on the phone pathetic. This place and business have gone down terribly in my estimation. Never will I be using Cafe Balti again Ever. Disgusting service and very un professional behaviour POOR.

Really nice take away meal, everything tasted fine. The premises could do with a make over though. Looking a bit shabby. Other than that, all good.

Delivery was fine but the butter chicken was the worst I've ever tasted. Colour was deep red and was so sweet, tasted like someone poured a lot of honey and sugar in it. I know what good butter chicken tastes like and that was not it at all. Garlic Naan was good and fluffy but also very sweet for some reason.

As a Punjabi, I was excited to see paneer pasanda on their menu, a beloved dish I often enjoy. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. It was overly sweet, almost as if it had been soaked in sugar syrup, which is not how this dish is traditionally prepared. Additionally, the paratha was very thick and unevenly cooked, making it quite unappetizing. Another major issue was the excessive use of food colouring. This not only detracted from the natural flavours but also raised concerns about the quality and healthiness of the ingredients used. The only thing I could finish was papadum. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my meal. The quality and authenticity of the food did not meet my expectations.

My first time here was with my child in a pushchair. They're 15 now. Great people and a great location. The last two times we have ordered takeaway, though, it's not been of the high standard I've experienced previously. On two occasions, we've ordered the vegetarian set meal. The massalla has no vegetables in it. There was about a third of a potato and some tinned sweetcorn. Otherwise, just a big tray of red sauce. There was a bit of carrot, onion, potato and green pepper in the khorai. But not much. The carnivorous faction at mine are always happy. On that basis, I don't like to be negative. But I would like the vegetarian choices to involve - err - vegetables. Fresh ones. Bit of cauliflower, an aubergine, the occasional mushroom? And, please, put the tinned sweetcorn in the bin!

My partner rang them to place an order. She asked if they accepted cash or if it was card only. The guy who answered the phone didn't seem capable of answering a simple question and he put the phone down. Looks like there will be a shop for lease in Wolverton very soon. Some business they are

Great restaurant and takeaway. Food is consistently great. They're is always discounts on self collection and delivery through their own websites. It's cheaper than the well known apps

I ordered takeaway here. They said lamb briyani, don fall for a trap, they should say some masala mixed rice . And never order a fish . Highly disappointed. Not gonna recommend to anyone or going to this place again. Waste of money .

The food was great. Papadoms a bit chewy and soft but otherwise excellent. We had a nice evening. very quiet but we don't mind that. The toilet needed attention, though, and there was no soap. The existing one was broken and looked like it had been for some time. Otherwise very good

Used this company 1 year ago and it was amazing, went there today and asked for a lamb Rogen josh and requested not hot and it was inedible, I also asked for 3 poppadoms and got one and 2 in a separate bag folded up and burnt, this will be the last time I use this company no care taken at all.

A small but nice and pleasant restaurant with food that was made in good time but also tasted nice. The staff where very nice and accommodating. The price was also reasonable. Highly Recommended.

I ordered a takeaway from Cafe Balti for the very first time. The food was amazing, the Pilau rice took me right back to when I first had Indian food, the rice was fragrant with beautiful flavours running through it. Absolutely blown away. Thank you and please consider me a lifelong customer

We have used Cafe Balti for around 6 years maybe longer as we lived in Wolverton then moved. And running a business myself bad press is not what you want do would do anything to stop negative feedback especially for a customer if 6 years or longer! The last 2 times we have used them the service on delivery has been shocking! Missed prawn cocktail then took over 30 mins to drop off. Ordered 14th oct 2023 spent £70 on a curry and as per the picture the chips are NO bigger than a medium chips from McDonald’s but cost £2.50 EACH! And only 1 bag came so £5.00 for this! Also we never got the onion bhaji but we never even noticed till we nearly finished our food. The driver was at our door still and we showed him the portion but he is just a delivery driver! I was straight on the phone to we will send a portion out? Sorry but I remember last time over 30 mins wait our kids of 5/8 was eating with us too and it’s now 1845 at night so wanted them in bed not long after. We got a call back 10 mins later offering to deliver 1 portion of chips to be delivered? As stated to them on the phone we wanted our kids in bed after dinner. Sadly 6 years of regular business are happy not to just lose us but people we recommended to use them they will lose aswell. If the kitchen staff think this portion of chips is worth £2.50 needs to be re educated. Prob maximum 40 chips in the bag. Like I stated as soon as the driver was here I showed him that chips! So there is none of this ‘you ate some’…. When we mess up we offer our customer something they are happy with by sorting the problem out so they are then aware what we will offer to show it’s not how we do business and appreciate the business they are giving us.

We ordered a family takeaway, and whilst the main meal itself was very nice, I was dumb struck to see I’d paid £3.50 for 2 very small samosas and £3.50 for 4 onion bajhis that I could have fitted in the palm of my hand. So we won’t be ordering off of the starter menu again sadly.

Always get my Indian food here. Full of flavour .generous portions. And always the extra mile they go for us with extra poppadoms or dips etc.

We took lamb and veg biryani for dinner and I had never had more aweful tasting dish (I don't want to call it Biryani). Having come from the city that has invented this delightful dish called Biryani,it was a punishment to eat something that was over loaded with turmeric and cabbage (FYI cabbage is not used in a real biryani).Pls don't call the dish you sell Biryani.Or learn how to make one pls ..

Well done guys. We had our first takeaway from Cafe Balti, a bit of trek, but worth it. mix Delight for starters, plenty there and tasted lovely. For main we had Hundi chicken, Lamb special Jalfrezi and mushroom rice, which was really nice…. We will definitely be back . Terrible customer service. Forgot half our order then took over 30mins to send out. Then when called they said to microwave the meal as it was cold!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again will I order from here nor will any of my family and friends. Should hang their head in shame. Disgraceful! Food was bland. Not a proper Indian takeaway at all!!! Go elsewhere better Indian takeaways than this dive!!!

I can not fault their take away. And the price is very reasonable too.

Regular place for take away. Lately portions hot smaller, guess due to everything getting more expensive. Guys should update their web page, no discount on orders for take away

Good food, average service! We enjoyed our curries, though we were made to believe the Napoli would be much spicier than it was, and found ourselves underwhelmed as we like it hot. Perhaps they saw the colour of our skin and gave us the 'safe' version of it, haha! Definitely ask for the level of spice you want if you find this sometimes happens to you, too. No music made for an odd experience when you're only one of two tables in there. The younger waiter didn't seem to know what being a waiter entails (no orders taken, walked past several times over the course of 10 minutes having not asked if we wanted a drink, couldn't have wanted to be there less), but the older waiter was great! We don't overly mind not having great service, as long as the food's alright and the beers are flowing, so it wasn't the end of the world for us. Would probably go again, but might look to go elsewhere first.

We have ordered from Cafe Balti many times for a number of years now and I have to say we've never been disappointed. It's lovely food and reasonably priced. Easy to order through the normal channels but if you go in the staff are friendly too. Would recommend the set meal for 2 but then its all nice.

Ordered a take out. Order was correct and was ready on time. The contents however were average at best, barely warm and things that should have been crisp were soggy. Disappointed.

Ordered delivery which, to be fair, came just about within the hour that they advised. The garlic and chilli naan had almost no flavouring at all and the starter lamb chops hardly even had any meat that you could have taken off with tweezers - I know these do tend to be mainly bone but this was so extreme that it was ridiculous. The chilli paneer main was good. I think if you order the from the mains, the stuff is quite good but starters and sundries need big improvement.

Ordered at the weekend. Very disappointing! Absolutely no taste to any of the dishes we ordered - overcooked tandoori chicken - overcooked greasy onion bajjis & pathora bread. Our favourite side dish Saag Paneer was a strange sweet mess, completely inedible! Would not order again. I don't recommend this restaurant.

We ordered through Deliveroo. We have ordered food from many restaurants in Milton Keynes, we try to use independents so we thought we would try Cafe Balti as never ordered from them before. No flavour to any dishes - tandoori chicken main was dry. Saag paneer is our favourite, this dish however was strange and so sweet it was inedible. We had a couple of other dishes but the worst was the overcooked onion bajjis and the Paratha bread which should be flaky, what we received was a dough like substance thick with oil. Again inedible. I have been in contact with the restaurant requesting a refund alas they have ignored me. We won't be using them again, and would not recommend!

Got a takeout on the Friday night, Saturday/Sunday vomiting and well you know what else, never been so ill in my entire life, it had to be the rice as my partner didn’t eat any and she was fine. Rice is deadly when not treated correctly. The comedian Kevin bridges jokes about “Hoose Rrice” well I can tell you he’s got a point. When these restaurants are trying to complete lots of orders standards slip and customers like me pay the price. You won’t be seeing me again I promise.

This was not the first time we have ordered a takeaway from Cafe Balti and it was delicious yet again, proving that the standards are consistently high. The Balti Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi tasted out of this world, the chicken was so tender and the flavours were out of this world. thoroughly recommend Cafe Balti

Always great tasting food. Everytime its been delivered hot, on time and nothing missing. Have opted for the set menu a few times and they are always happy to make changes. Don't order from anywhere else anymore.

Bloody lovely takeaway curry every time! The food is so delicious I always eat far too much. Chicken curries, paneer curries, soft naans, onion bahjis, everything is wonderful. Our go to curry house from now on...

Best Indian takeaway I've ever had!

I have never complained on Trip Advisor before but I was very upset about my evening there which is a real shame as I have been there before and really enjoyed myself. It was clear from the time we arrived that takeaways were being prioritised and me and my guests were badly neglected from the beginning to the end. Having arrived in plenty of time to allow for the 10pm closure, we were rushing our food which eventually arrived at 9.30. We could not attract attention in order to order drinks, our food order for the main course was muddled up and my husband didn't even get a specific item he wanted. I have emailed the restaurant (on the 18th) but as yet have not had a reply which is why I am putting this onto Trip Advisor.

I think it's high time that I finally write a review for these guys! Me and my partner go to Cafe Balti almost every week or at the very least, twice a month, we LOVE it there! Fantastic atmosphere, tentative staff, fantastic food (best I've tasted hence constant return) every chance I get, I'll take my friends, family and staff with me and I can't think of one that hasn't turned into a repeat customer! It's perfect for a date, a family meal or even a business meeting and they'll try their best to cater for every occasion especially if you ring ahead. (speaking from experience of all of the above) I'll never go elsewhere, its honestly MK's hidden gem of indian food.

Ordered a few times now and the meals have always been exquisite. The main attribute for me is the diversity and amount of options on there menu, As a vegetarian i am able to choose numerous amounts of dishes and they are all delicious! The restaurant service itself is excellent too I always receive an extra popadom and couple of extras which is a really nice touch from the restaurant. The delivery drivers are always well mannered and professional also.The best indian food I have personally tasted in MK.. Very nice 👌🏼

First time ordered from cafe balti, looking something new at the deliveroo page and checking on their reviews for Indian restaurant this Cafe Balti vomes up on the third list.Then we took our chance/ luck ordered from here, the results was very very happy with the taste & portions :)The only a bit annoying was from you pay to the time they start delivering it’s taking more than an hr (1hr 20mnts) I do understand it was Saturday night. But when we start eating oooh my God the foods was tasty Very happy new customer here :)

Unfortunately I have to say this was the worst curry I have had for a long time, everything was full of roughly chopped not very well cooked onions, tarka dahl was like water and fairly tasteless, bhajis also bland. Garlic and chilli Naan, cost extra and you get a load of dry chilli flakes tipped on the top - not nice. Ordered on Deliveroo, it was cheap and arrived just about on time, but that's the only good thing I can say about it!

Amazing curry and naan bread everything was perfect!

We had a birthday meal for myself and brother last night at the restaurant. We have been before and the staff are very welcoming but last night we all came home poorly after eating there. Individually we up being sick and had bad tummies all day .. not very happy with the restaurant after spending over £100 for the pleasure of being ill

We always love eating at Cafe Balti because the people are really lovely and accommodating, the food is delicious and the value for money is unbelievably great. We had a takeaway from them last week and it really was one of the tastiest takeaways I've ever had. The food was plentiful and we saved some for another meal so we got to eat it twice! Really couldn't recommend Cafe Balti enough. We've been in the past for birthday meals and the room has been decorated beautifully for the occasion.

Ordered yesterday via just eat. Food arrived and was tasteless, and very watery. Poppadom's were stale, overall not a good experience and will stay clear in future. Avoid

Today was my third takeaway and it just get better every time. If you love a hot curry then the Vindaloo is a go to curry. The Korma and the Tikka Masala are delicious mild options. I would highly recommend any curry. Absolutely the best lamb chops in town.

I've reviewed this unpretentious but excellent place before, and eaten here several times, most recently with five cousins. All agreed the food was superb and good value, with friendly attentive service.Only glitch was the tea at the end, served in handle-less glasses which are hard to hold full of hot liquid. But don't let that put you off, this is a great place to eat, and I will definitely be back!

Despite really tasty food and pleasant staff, there was zero atmosphere, the floor was dirty all over. The walls were pretty filthy near our table. It's a shame cause the takeaway side of things was going well with about 10-12 orders being collected whilst we were sat down, but the whole place just needs a bit of sprucing up to maybe draw in hungry people.

We have eaten in and had a takeaways and its always amazing staff are always so friendly,last time we went we asked for recommendations as we wanted to try something new both curries were so good even though one was too hot for me to eat too much of it but my partner loved it! We will be back!

Having waited over an hour just for the Namji to take our order we decided to go to Cafe Balti after making sure they could accommodate us. The service was friendly and efficient 😊 our food was great too so you can't ask for anything more, thank you Cafe Balti. See you again soon.
