Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar in Milton Keynes

Came for an Eid meal with my family which was also on mother's day. They were offering a free glass of red wine to mothers, as I don't drink I asked if I could swap this for a soft drink. The waitress checked with a supervisor and said I could swap it for a juice or soft drink, which was much appreciated. Ordered 3 curries, naans and kids meal. All of it was delicious :) easy parking available in the Sainsbury's opposite. Lots of different menu options available too.

I took my son out and he absolutely loved this food, great service and lovely aesthetic, would recommend strongly!

I took my mum here tonight for mothers day and had an amazing experience. We were served by jatin who was very attentive and professional, he ensured we had the best meal and experience we have seen in a long time. The food was exceptional, full of flavour with beautiful presentation. We will definitely be returning soon.

Lovely atmosphere. Food & mojitos were good, especially chicken 65, Papri/Samosa chaat, and lamb achari. 😋

Good service provided by staff. A very nice atmosphere. King prawns were lovely! The curries weren't very spicy, maybe that's because I'm used to the heat.

Family of 3. Popped in for a Saturday lunch time treat. Accommodated a walk in. Staff polite. Starters good. With the mains, 2 of the 3 rice dishes were wrong despite writing down the order and being the only dinners currently in the restaurant. When highlighted, it was offered to be rectified, but who wants to wait another 10mins whilst the curry is there. My Son chose butter chicken and said he didn’t like it. I thought he was being fussy so encouraged him to eat his chicken and rice but sauce looked very dark and red for butter chicken so I had a taste and I swear it was Heinz tomato soup! Too strong a taste and quite unpleasant with chicken! I ordered the korma and again I swear it was Campbell’s condensed chicken soup sauce! Nothing authentic at all! I feel we’ve been duped! We didn’t complain as my partner said he enjoyed his and he would pay. I wish I had questioned it as £112 (beware service charge too) later I feel a hard days cash has been spent on chicken pieces in soup! Smoke and mirrors. Will never return.

Went there for the wife's birthday last November first impressions was that the music was a bit loud to be honest more like a night club then a restaurant when we walked in.staff friendly but aren't they all to be honest.anyway food was nice but had better if I'm honest service very good and food hot as the wife's very fussy and knows her Asian cuisine. Would I recommend yes BUT slightly pricey for what we got shared starter and two main for 60 quid but overall not bad .

I have ordered chicken tikka masala and butter naan from maaya, it was just like tomato puree and chicken pieces. They send tandoori roti with butter and i have ordered butter naan. I paid extra delivery fees as i am living in bletchley. Very bad and tasteless food.

The worst curry iv ever had .the korma tasted nothing like a korma it's more like a chicken and mushroom soup with spice added to it awful won't ordering again.

This has to be one of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. My two friends and I booked a table for the evening of February 8th 2025. We started with two types of chaat and some onion bhaji, followed by a shared selection of chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and laal maas for mains. To finish, we ordered espresso martinis. Now, the best part of the meal was by far the starters, both the chaats and the onion bhaji were great. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken tasted identical - like tomato soup. I’m actually still debating if we were served Heinz tomato soup with chicken pieces in it. As for the laal maas, it was extremely spicy. A little too spicy for me, but I could see how it might satisfy those who really love their heat. When the espresso martinis arrived, they tasted like stale coffee water. No foam, no creaminess - I'm not even sure if they’d been shaken. We couldn’t bring ourselves to drink more than one sip of them. After finishing the mains, we decided not to complain about the food as we had eaten it, but the espresso martinis were the final straw. We mentioned it to the server, and a manager came over to argue that he had personally tasted every drink leaving the bar that night and that they had never received a complaint about their espresso martinis. The only explanation I can deduce is that he must’ve been absolutely off his chops from tasting all those drinks because those cocktails were some of the worst I’ve ever had the misfortune of drinking. On a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. I just wish they’d spent a bit more time on the food than on deciding the perfect shade of blue for the feathers in the decor.

Enjoyed the most wonderful, full of flavour meal in gorgeous surroundings. Also served by very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. A lovely dining experience 🥰

Good foid, decent staff Limited with vegetarian options

I’ve traveled across the UK for work for the last ten years, staying in budget hotels and typically always look to eat out at local Indian restaurants. The meal I had at Maaya was one of the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere in the country. Every bit of the experience was fantastic, the food was incredible, the staff were super friendly and accommodating, service was impeccable and the surroundings / atmosphere were top quality. If I ever find myself back in Milton Keynes then I’ll be returning!

Just called to make an order over the phone for collection but rudely told they don’t take orders on the phone just on Deliveroo or Uber eats, however, I checked both apps and they’re missing half their menu. I explained that to them on the phone but they still didn’t let me make an order.

I visit Maaya every 6 weeks, food is amazing, service just as good. Visited during the christmas party boom and the service was just as good, waited about 15 minutes for mains to arrive. Laal Maas is to die for. Think a few bad reviews mark it down because they dont serve rubbish like Korma.

Very tasteless food. Butter chicken tasted like dty piece of chicken cooked in passata with herbs. Very sour. Garlic naan had no garlic. Chicken kebabs very dry. Very underwhelming experience

Lovely atmosphere and ambience. Cosy place and nice music in the back. Service was great and enjoyed hospitality. Plenty of food options available. Indian Street food , meat dishes vegetarian and fix thali options available. Enjoyed fix thali vegetarian. Dal , rice , alloogobi and chana was great in taste but paneer was to sweet being North Indian would not like that much of sweetness in meal. Overall good quality food and value for money. 💰

Went here with work for Christmas meal! Staff and service was great and they was well on top of everything. This isn't for me in my own food tastes but everyone in our party loved it! And I couldn't say a bad word on venue and staff.

We went earlier than booked and they were so accommodating. Service was impeccable and food was tasty. It’s very well decorated inside with 🦚 peacock theme. Has a good lounge bar vibe to it.

Maaya Indian Restaurant is an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance, combined with beautiful decor, made for a perfect dining experience. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Railway Mutton Curry. It was rich, flavourful, and cooked to perfection, with tender pieces of mutton that melted in the mouth. The blend of spices was spot on, taking us on a culinary journey straight to India. It’s hands down one of the best curries we’ve ever had! The rest of the menu was equally impressive, and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend dishes that complemented the meal. Their service truly elevated the experience. If you’re after authentic Indian cuisine with impeccable flavour's, Maaya is the place to go. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back for more – especially for that Railway Mutton Curry! We came here for celebrating my husband birthday on Sunday. Have a lot of people enjoy dinner here. Beautiful decoration and good vibes. Sometime music quite loud but acceptable. Food was great. Perfect celebration here and good service.

They make you select a timeslot for delivery. I chose the 19:15 slot which was 1.5hrs away. So I went for a run to pass the time and my partner phoned me to say it's here already at 18:15! So now I'm home to a cold expensive curry that was a treat for my family. I missed out and had to eat alone. Really not happy. Why give timeslots when you deliver immediately?? Very annoyed £65 wasted

The food was a definite highlight - like you might expect, but the overall experience was woeful - large noisy tables meaning that one to one conversation was impossible. Service was below par for a restaurant with such accolades and reputation. While the decoration is fabulous, the acoustics are poor which contributes to the overall background noise level. Get a takeaway as sitting in adds nothing to the experience.

We came here for our daughter’s 2nd birthday - Josh & Ayshee were absolutely fantastic as waiters! They made our evening so enjoyable & were so accommodating. We have loved this restaurant for a very long time & would not have any hesitations about using them in the future - if you are contemplating a booking with them, please give them a try as I’m sure you will not regret their fantastic food & hospitality!

I'm Indian, and this is your warning to stay away from this restaurant if you value health and taste. The food is bad and will affect your health, like it did for all of my friends and me. It happened to ALL 5 of us, so it's not circumstantial. The service is terrible, the wait staff will hurry you along to order, nothing like what you'd expect from a restaurant. The wait staff also is very disrespectful and questions you on your appetite whenever you have any such questions. Being a proud Indian and leaving a bad review on an Indian restaurant hurts me too. Please, please, please, stay away from this place, it's cheap for a reason.

We called in here after a work event for a well deserved curry. The decor and layout of the place is very impressive with huge murals on the wall. Service was both swift and friendly and the food was out of this world ! very happy and I will most certainly be back.

I haven't been here for some time as I live in Devon, but wow, the food still remains as incredible as ever, the lamb so succulent, the taste and the spice adorable and the service impeccable. A truly incredible and delicious Indian restaurant, I couldn't recommend it more highly, a must visit if you are ever in MK and I look forward to many more visits ahead!!!!

Very disappointing experience. Had high hopes from walking past a few times and smelling how nice the food must be. There were only 4 groups in the restaurant and they decided to sit us all together in one small area despite the place being empty. The food was so painfully average it hurt. I've had nicer curries from a microwave. The naan was probably 1cm 'thick'. Can't fault the waiting staff but it was hard to be bad given how quite it was. I went to the toilet at the end of the meal and one of the chefs all but pushed past me on the stairs and didn't say sorry. Won't be coming back.

Friday night dinner was amazing! The restaurant seemed quite quiet but we can’t understand why. Service was excellent. Friendly helpful staff who were knowledgeable and polite. A great variety on the menu and some dishes I had never heard of. We had Delhi Papri and Scallops with Mussels as starters and they were both so tasty. The scallops were cooked perfectly! For main we had garlic chilli chicken and we tried Laal Mass. Both were really full of flavour with very tender meat. The garlic and coriander naan was the best I have ever had. The restaurant was also beautifully decorated and furnished. Would highly recommend!

Disappointing. This was our second visit and first time it was lovely. However this time was very different. I was barely able to open the menu as it was covered with dried food and the pages stuck together and consequently my hands. We had 2 starters and 2 mains which cost near £80 and I was ill the next day.we won't be back

When Maaya first opened I thought it was great. The service was good, the quality of the food was good and I would recommend it to other people looking for a good Indian. That does not translate over to their delivery service. I found the quality of food to be subpar at best. The portion sizes were small, the tandori chicken was cremated and the naan bread tasted stale, like it had been microwaved from the previous day. When I spoke to the manager they gave me 50% off the next order, so we gave them another chance a month or two after. Sadly the same problems were there and this time I had pieces of dry naan bread. I have since given up using them

Never been compelled to review before, but this was actively a bad experience. Swift service, but that was it. Food with average to below average (especially for the "chief special") . No one ever stopped by, so I only got one drink. Had to ask to pay at the bar after waiting 20min. I genuinely wish I could get the 1hr I spent there back. For reference, I've spent the past 4 weeks in MK for work and eat all my meals out. Plenty of better options for Indian food, I wouldn't go back.

I loved the warm decore inside the restaurant. All the staff were friendly and smiley. I ordered the coco nut lassi which was absolutely lovely so had to buy another!. I wasn't sure what to order so had the meat thali which was very filling and I got the opportunity to try a few of the dishes - what a great idea! It's very filling and good value for money

My wife and I had dinner at Maaya Indian Kitchen,MiltonKeynes last night. We have eaten there several times before and always found the food and service of the highest quality. I had Railway Mutton Curry, which was absolutely delicious. My wife and I finished off with coffee, brandy and a Baileys. The brandy was served in a flat bottomed, thick glass, which is not really the best way to serve brandy but I didn't really mind as the rest of the food and service was exceptional. When we had finished, the owner came over and asked me if the staff had served my brandy in a heated brandy glass? I said no but that it was fine. The owner then apologised for the staff serving the brandy in this this way and gave us a further 2 coffees, a brandy (served in a heated brandy glass) and a Baileys to thanks for our custom. Need I say more? That's what I call service?

The worst DUM BIRYANI I ever had in my life, just boiled chicken added to sweet pulao. Portion is so small which can't even fill for 1 person for such hefty price of 17£. kebab had no taste and not juicy at all and cold. Nothing much except the ambience... Avoid.

Beautiful decor and fresh naans. Unfortunately in our experience that was all. I had to ask 3 times to try the Malbec as I wanted to buy a bottle and I kept getting the same response “ yes I’ll get you a small 125ml glass”. Not 10 minutes after ordering food arrived, we hadn’t even started to eat and the waiter came asking if everything is okay with the food which I said I haven’t began yet. She didn’t come to ask again. chicken was of a weird chewy texture but decided not to bring it to their attention. Decided to finish the bottle and leave without getting dessert. Waiters kept looking over and whispering to each other, kept coming over every 2 minutes to take a fork, a glass, a napkin every time. Manager came over to speak about nothing really and whilst he done that a waiter slipped us the bill we didn’t ask for yet. 5 minutes later she comes over and says she’s going to top up our glasses without asking ( if that had happened from the start I’d understand but you don’t fill a glass of red wine to the top) and then she took the empty bottle. Another 2 minutes passed and she came again to take the water that we hadn’t finished either. Overall we were rushed but not because they were busy and in need of tables as it was less than half full. In my experience it was not authentic or hospitable not because they were rude to our faces but their actions throughout were not professional.

Avoid! They have a ludicrous policy of requiring one main course to be ordered per head, whether you need it or not. They have the fine print only in the menu and point it out when asked. You don't see it online while booking a table. The food is mediocre at best, and the portions tiny. I can see why they have such low ratings - clearly for the lack of customer empathy, the mediocre food, and the process that go with them.

Durga provided first class service. The whole experience was exceptional and this restaurant is very much recommend.
