£2.60 for one very small scoop of ice cream that looked completely lost in the tub.......absolute rip off. No wonder the lady serving asked me if I wanted w scoops for £4.50 (I think). Everywhere else you go to they put a bit more in the tub or even fill it especially because you aren't having the cone but not here. Certainly not value for money.

This place looks lovely from the outside, until you enter to very rude uninviting staff! So miserable and have no interest!!! My partner was served the wrong milkshake!!!, the lady with brown hair really didn’t want to serve him, hence why he was given the wrong drink! I would never return here, when visiting Whitby again! Small businesses like this should be service with a smile to keep their businesses going and to keep their customers happy, not here I’m afraid!!! I do always try to be fair when right reviews!!! Don’t waste your money here!!! Better places deserve the customer!!! My caramel milkshake was nice, my partner asked for vanilla, NOT BANANA!!!

I popped in here one Saturday with two friends. The cafe is small so it is difficult to move around when full. We managed to find a table and I was rudely told I needed to order at the counter. I stood waiting to be served for a good 5 mins. The woman serving finally arrived and took my order. There was no pleasantry or chat. The prices for the tea and coffee were okay but the price for the Victoria sponge was expensive at over £3, especially given it was such a small slice. We left a bit disappointed and will neither return nor recommend.

Cute corner location decked in pastel colours. Great location for people watching or a break whilst shopping. There are a couple of tables inside and one outside. Good selection of drinks and ice creams including vegan options. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices.

It's so rare to find someone who serves vegan ice cream. When you're dairy intolerant, finding seaside treats can be a challenge. Loved the ice cream, thank you

Great choice of ice cream flavours and the traditional 99 with a flake for £2. Selection of cakes and drinks available too. Friendly staff would return on our next trip. Located just at the bottom of the 199 steps you can't miss it on the corner,

Waited over 15 minutes for a wafle ,wasn’t busy so no excuses when asked where it was the rude And abrupt lady behind the counter Said it takes time to make the mixture, when clearly I saw her colleague take a pre made one out of a packet, when it finally arrived it was burnt on the bottom, so no I wouldn’t recommend waffles but the ice looked delicious.

I had never heard of lemon top ice creams until this visit to Yorkshire - you learn something new!... and this cafe does a very nice one. Very refreshing. It's a small, colourful place just near the corner before you go up the 199 Steps (or on the left as you turn the corner from the Steps on the way down). You can go inside for food and drink but they have a small serving hatch for the ice creams.Service was friendly and fast, despite a hot summer's day.Well worth checking out as you explore the shops on your to or from the Abbey or St Mary's Church on the headland above.

Found near to the bottom of the steps up to the abbey this small cafe offers some really lovely creamy ice creams and are priced to sell @ £1.50 to £1.80 which is really decent and a pocket saver when your paying for 4. Give it a shot.

You would expect this little café to be on the beach, because of its name, but also because of its decor. Pale shades of blue, simple beachfront style, string of triangular flags, and ice creams prominently for sale. Unfortunately, no sand in sight! However they do provide remarkable vegetable soup with a hot roll besides. Very satisfying. Also hot and cold drinks and nice looking cakes. You can find it near the ocean end of Church Street.

this is by far the best establishment serving knickerbocker glories in the entire universe - and I have tried a lot of different ones now in search of one that is better. but just not found any better than the sandside bar. My profile photo is of one of them and I will post another in a moment. True perfection - vanilla and strawberry real dairy ice cream - lots of sauce and proper tinned fruit cocktail. all topped off with glorious whipped ice cream and cocktail cherry and wafers! A harmonious concoction of loveliness and one I am willing to travel nearly 280 miles (one way) to experience. sheer bliss

We just wanted a quick snack and called in to this small cafe. It was clean with colourful, fresh paintwork. Orders are placed at the counter, food is then brought to your table. I had coffee and cake, my husband had a coke and a bacon roll. The bacon roll was listed as freshly made and it was made to order. The cafe also serves sandwiches and ice creams, snacks are also sold from a hatch onto the street, and there are a couple of tables outside. It is just the place to call in when you don't want to have a full meal or sit and wait for table service.

It was very quite when we went in for a cup of tea and we felt we might have been interrupting the staff's other activities. There was little by way on comforts although the menu walls were very clear what was available if we had dared go beyond a cup of tea.

I recently nipped in here when the heavens opened for a quick relief from the terrible downpour! It is a very small and quite cramped place, so we had to wait around for a table but I suppose that can't be helped, so I wouldn't recommend it for people with younger children! The decor of the place was very cute, bright and inviting and the staff were very pleasant and on hand to help! They seemed like they enjoyed their job which is key to a functioning work place. The actual coffee I ordered was averagely nice (the actual brand was rijo if that helps?) and came very quickly to my delight - I don't like to wait around! Plus it was a fairly cheap price which is what I like to see. I think I'd definitely come in again if I needed somewhere quick, but I wouldn't make the extra journey to come here!

First visit. First impression delightful location. Extremely poor / processed quality food (not uncommon with many cafes/tea shops). Very small slice of cake and eclair with equally small dollop ice cream, cup of tea and mug coffee cost £12.70. As with the venue people seem nice. Accept dogs (which is great). Suggest review and improve quality of food and presentation. Leaving a used cigarette ashtray on table not indicative of professional service.

My wife uses a walker. We had never been to the Deli before so were unsure how to proceed. The staff completely ignored us. It was as if we were not there, or invisible. Even as we walked out of the Deli, no staff member offered any acknowledgement of us!

Gorgeous place to come to and is always on our list as a ' must go to'when we are in Filey. Beautiful setting and everything here is really delicious. The lemon meringue tart and coffee cake are to die for. It's lovely sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. Sadly it was raining today and as we have a dog we couldn't go in, there was some seating under a canopy for the ice creams but sadly for us just a bit too chilly to sit out. It is cash only so that is something to always remember when visiting.

I booked this venue for my son's 40th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble, and they even offered to step in when we didn't think the disco was going to come! Lovey and clean, excellent room.
