Kays Cafe in Scarborough

Would love to try as conveniently around the corner and on my way to work but despite advertising being open at 8.30 it never seems to be

Absolutely shocking I wouldnt send a homeless person there if they was starving to death 🤢

Absolutely georgious breakfast went for the £11 breakfast biggest one they do and by god it's beautiful staff where lovely food was even better the lovely orange free range egg yolks to lovely thick cut bacon absolute beutiful. The Mrs also enjoyed her large bacon buttie.

In all honesty the food is not that bad .. This is a serious complaint about the service. My wife and i always take our plates back to the guy on the till in any cafe,,, they work hard .. right.. But the guy said " see you next tuesday" it was only the second time we had been and both days was a friday. We both looked at each other like huh ? .he had a blank stare it just seemed offish.. . It has now come to my attention what this means. We will not return..

Went for breakfast yesterday. First thing we noticed was the name had changed to lacys so presume its changed ownership. Ordered two regular cooked breakfasts when they arrived both my wife and I tried the sausages and agreed they tasted off when we mentioned this to the waitress her response was "well they are proper pork sausages from a real butcher " and walked off! That was it no more interaction totally ignored til we left. The rest of meal was edible .avoid

Had a large breakfast yesterday. It was huge. It tasted amazing. My colleague had a mega breakfast. I'm pretty sure he won't be able to eat anything for at least a few days. Really enjoyable and excellent value for money. DO NOT underestimate the mega or even a large breakfast.

It has changed hands and is now called Lacey’s cafe, we went by the 5 star review given on Tripadvisor. We couldn’t believe how it got 5 stars as the bacon was so fatty and hardly seen the pan it was in a bap and l asked for sandwiches. The coffee was instant and tasted like dishwater.The hot chocolate was made with water not hot milk.We wished we hadn’t gone there and wasted our money.

This is a no frills greasy spoon cafe. Prices are reasonable, staff go out of their way and are friendly. Breakfast was good and served quick.

Waited 40 minutes for a bacon sandwich. Another guy walked out after 35 minutes without getting his food

How refreshing to find a cafe that serves a good hearty breakfast and hot drink at a realistic price without the rip off prices of other fancy cafe's. Friendly staff who are in touch with the regulars. A great discovery.

Kays cafe is a traditional cafe with a family atmosphere and I am always treated with a warm welcome. I have never had a complaint about the food or the service as it is always top quality.

as a retired person we like a good day out shopping we go from Jarrow to scarborough as we like the fish.chips .or call into kays café f a good meal .or a good b fast its the best café in scarborough have done this f a long time now .even my son and his family come to s borough ,not foregetting Bridlington .witch is also good .note we don't stop at Whitby anymore as it is hard to park also to dear get my drift

Cafe on corner of road near car park Was having trouble with change for parking meter so called in to get a coffee and some change. Served by friendly helpful man. Old fashioned cafe, clean toilets. Mug of coffee was only £1 and just like my mam used to make it. Food looked lovely and good value but we'd just had breakfast or would have tried it.

myself and wife came from newcastle to pay deposit f lodge as we r taking g children on hols ..left c bay came to kays cafe once again had a lovely brekkie .as allways nothing is a problem for this cafe 10 out of 10 for everything .had a chat with the lovely who was serving we told him we allways come to kays cafe when we come down from newcastle .exelent value for money ,grand children will love it as thay r always hungry..then down onto the sea front to spend some money on the g kids

when i go to scarborough i allways go to kays cafe u can order allmost anything u like exelent service the b fast just like mother used to make ..now parking just across the road it is very cheap to park please dont go behind kays cafe for parking as it is a bit expencive some good shops around kays cafe .down the road to the t lights and turn right there is a good second hand shop selling everything

This it where you go to get the best fish and chips go up stairs and sit down for a heart treat and it's a fair price to they do pensioners deals as well

Beautiful home cooked food, made just the way you like it! There's a coach park behind, so if your ever there and ready for some nice food. Bring yourself in!

A tradtional British cafe serving really good quantities of quality food. Very comprensive menu including various substantial home made meat and two veg dinners. Also every variety of British breakfast. Home made puddings include a great apple pie and custard. The cafe walls are covered in framed photos of local fishermen and their boats.

lovely breakfast for £4.30ish and you get tea with it. Certainly full up when leaving. Just wish they had hp sauce as you can tell the difference.
