Lovely lunch & home made cakes served, very reasonable price. Although need to pre-book, open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Excellent idea to allow the trainees to learn & practice their skills.

Be aware that although the Tea Rooms are re-opening for the forst time since lockdown, there is no cooked food, and they are only opening Mondays and Fridays. You need to go to their website and make a booking as they are not taking walk -ins. Once the people running it get in the swing of things, menus and opening days may change. They are mostly youngsters running the tea rooms now, so if you go, be polite and be prepared to make allowances. They will be doing their best.

The Hub Cafe at Hadleigh Park is run by the Salvation Army and can get really popular. It serves rolls, sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls , chips as well as specials and all are delicious. There are a variety of hot and cold drinks and they are superb, the lattes are highly recommended. The staff here are very friendly too and the location, where you can eat inside or out, overlooks the Thames Estuary with breathtaking views. There is also a play area for youngsters and of course, the mountain biking track. Really lovely place and great to have it on my doorstep.

Visited here, with friends, for a mid week lunch. Was a bit disappointed that there was no jacket potatoes but was delighted that my second choice....a tuna and cheese panini...was delicious. It was huge with a lot of filling and served with a side salad. Had a slice of victoria sandwich and coffee for dessert and, whilst the coffee was a little on the cold side, the homemade cake was lovely. I would recommend this place and would definitely return myself. You should be aware, however, that there is a charge of £1 an hour for parking.

Not a fan of the chips. Skins on chips are not my thing. They sell jam and honey which is good. They store cake in fridge which makes it dry. Till staff didn't crack a smile. Lovely area tho. Came here early April and advised in advance we were a group of 18. They asked for meal choices which was no problem. When we arrived a table was reserved and set. The T&Cs were quick and hot and the meals (mostly Jackets) very soon after, nicely presented, hot and tasty. Well done Sally ! Walk to the castle before/after as you get tremendous views (5 mins away).

This is literally down the road to me and although I take a walk around and pop into the farm occasionally with family I’ve never sampled the tea rooms. Whilst family were down we decided to pop in. Very nice inside, clean good space although I think it could be a little more quirky to go with the area being so old town! Menu isn’t overall massive but it’s good and caterers for a nice munch out. Sandwiches, banquettes, jackets, things on toast etc. You have to pounce on a table and order at the till which is fine as it does get a little busy but nothing major. Food comes out well presented and looking yummy! Food sized portions too. Sweet things also very appealing so we obviously had to sample that as well.
