SaltBox in Nottingham

Saltbox Bar for the lauch of Mollis fried chicken kitchen takeover. If you didn't already know, Mollis is known for their ULTIMATE fried chicken on derby road next to Alchemilla by Alex Bond chef Saltbox have teamed up with Mollis for a 3 month kitchen take over in Bolero Square next to the entrance of Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Its available every Friday and Saturday evening from May to July. We chose a couple of chicken burgers. One with Nashville hot oil fried chicken miso ranch, beer pickle, lollo rosso, furikake. The other,Classic southern fried chicken kewpie mayo, pickles, lettuce, cheese sauce. A side of Fries,house seasoning topped with parmesan. Pink fir potato, truffle curd, crispy onions and a roasted garlic mayo sauce. They also serve some amazing chicken wings, either 6 or 12 in two delicous coatings. If you've not managed to make it out of the city to try them before. Theres no excuse now, as you can pop in when you go to a nearby event or you just want some really good chicken in the town. You can even order it to take-away.

Felt it was a bit unfair to not have a more recent review on. Went here for a private film screening. Drinks were fine and bar staff friendly. The menu on their website wasn't on and it was a pop up for Mollis fried chicken which I guess is fine if you like chicken or fake chicken! If you don't you're a bit stuffed! Toilets were clean and everything was fine.

Understandably busy before a concert, but stood waiting at the bar for a good 5 minutes waiting to be served while a couple of the bar staff seemed to be oblivious to me being stood there, eventually moved to another part of the bar where someone finally took my drinks order. After looking at the menu we decided to eat before going into the concert. Myself and my partner both ordered pizza and patiently waited for our food to come. Another trip to the bar for a top up whilst waiting for our food resulted in the same experience as previously. We could see the open kitchen from where we were seated and noticed that one of the chefs ( I use the term loosely) had gone for a break and the other was stood eating and checking his phone in the kitchen. Fourty minutes had passed by this time and the concert was due to start in half an hour. I went to the bar to enquire where our food was the manager went to the kitchen to check and said for some reason our order had not gone through, he offered us a refund or told me the pizza's would take 4 minutes. We opted to eat as it was too late to go anywhere else. He did offer us a drink while we were waiting but we were starving by now and needed to get to the concert so we declined. The pizzas arrived a couple of minutes after and I can only describe them as Chicago Town's poor relation (the for minute wait should have set the alarm bells ringing). They were under cooked bland and mass produced. I understand that £9 isn't a lot for a pizza but you can get a fresh cooked one for that in our local takeaway that is far superior. These were plonked in front of us neither of us were asked which one we had ordered. A knife and fork was put in front of us as an afterthought. To sum it all up, give this place a miss, staff are either poorly trained or just cant be bothered. Food is awful. If you're heading to the arena for an event my advice would be get to Nottingham early and find somewhere decent for food and drink, this place is definitely not it!!!!!

No ales on tap unless you count some airy lager looking Smooth IPA, £6.40 a pint, completely unpaletable. Wine selection limited no choices. Food Menu very restricted, chips, burger or pizza, so you'd think thats for a shorter wait? Nope, 30mins, not worth the wait, over priced, overcooked tasteless pizza. Garbage. Staff pleasant but clueless. Thumbs down, never again, really just grab something in town- or if you’re going to Motorpoint for a show you might as well eat there, prices same, much quicker and quality slightly better.

Right next to the Arena so convenient for the gig. Pleasant enough staff behind the bar. First warning I should have taken was no Sauvignon Blanc for my wife. I mean what self respecting pub does not have “Sav” these days. Anyway made do with Pinot Grigio. My lager was fine. I ordered a chicken burger & my wife ordered fried chicken . What arrived was cheeseburger & fried chicken. The manager offered to change my burger to what I ordered chicken …but I didn’t want to wait another 15mins as we had a gig to get to…..he did offer to go & check if he had picked up the wrong burger …..he did not return to speak to me again ! My burger was pretty tasteless & the bun tasted stale …..my wife’s fried chicken was ok ….slightly over cooked. However in the middle of the night when we got home I was violently sick……and the only thing different from my wife that I had eaten was that cheeseburger. The place is ok for a quick drink before a gig but I would stay away from eating there.

Absolutely dreadful food. We ordered 2 veggie pizzas and a burger. They took 50 minutes to arrive - and that was after prompting. The pizzas had different toppings and not much of them as if they’d run out. The bases were pre-made. Rock hard and virtually inedible. How is it possible to make food this badly? No cutlery brought to us so we had to go looking for our own. Staff are uninterested. This place needs a new manager.

Well what an utter disapointment, pizza's her are absolute garbage an when the server asked how the food was I was quiet honest and told her, her reply was, whatever. Shocking custormer service and obviously run by idiots.

We eat here before Strictly come dancing, when we walked in the place looked clean, and not too busy.

Waited 20 minutes to be served and it wasn't even that busy. Staff totally ignorant with one member of staff aware we were waiting and served anyone who arrived at the bar instead. Wanted to order 5 meals and drinks but ended up walking out in disgust. Would not recommend as there's a lot better places to go nearby and who deserve the custom.

We stopped off to eat before watching Rod Stewart on the 28th, we were pleasantly surprised, it's a nice tidy place and the staff were very friendly, even better we had a bowl of Chilli and rice one being vegetable Chilli, both were very tasty and a large bowl full too. We will be definitely be going back again, thank you guys

We visited for a quick drink and food before Brian Cox universal tour. The waiting staff were so friendly and helpful explaining different ways to order and pay for our food. We both had burgers which arrived promptly and well presented. Extra drinks were offered without prompting. Will definitely visit again.

Came here prior to a panthers match. Two burgers and a pint each for £20. Bargain! The veggie burger was also decent. Staff were lovely and very accommodating - I think it’s a bit odd to have to leave your actual bank card behind the bar though!! But would recommend

visited the Saltbox on Saturday 5th January prior to the Panthers game. Ordered food from a waiter whos name i really cannot remember other than it started with Ko or Ku. He is an absolute credit to the Saltbox !

Being from 'the sticks', I always find city prices eye-watering. This place had beef brisket sandwich on the menu for £6:50, so we ordered 2 plus a side of fries for an extra £1:50 each. The food was divine, the portions generous & well presented. Staff very good too. We want it down with some Panthers pale ale, which was one of the nicest beers I've ever had - what's not to like?

I booked a meal here before a hockey game but have a serious dairy allergy so I always ring up in advance. The manager had written down everything I could and couldn’t eat, we got served straight away and the meal was lovely compared to your normal pub food. Can’t stress enough how rare it is you get this type of care and attention! So good!

Booked the Saltbox because of the location to Nottingham Arena. Staff were friendly, menu basic and food mediocre. I won't be rushing back.

Excellent evening with partner and meeting old friends listening and dancing to some great music. Well organised event when compared to last year, improved level,of service ranging from good door service “no waiting in the queue, yeah! Bar service friendly, attentive and professional, cheers to all including Colin Curtis and Johnathan a credit to your profession.

Turned up with a group of friends, some of us were wanting food but the kitchen closed at 7pm which was far from ideal.

We had a lovely meal here before Noel Gallagher (30/4), all the staff were helpful but could smile more! Must say, the drinks were overpriced for what they were but the food was more than enough and tasted fab, not enough to choose from though!

I booked a pre concert meal(Michael McIntyre) by e mail. The day before I had to change the time by 30 minutes. I rang and spoke with a lady who wrote my request and assured me it would be fine. I asked if she needed me to put the request on an e mail and she said it was fine and not to worry. When we went the following day I was told they had given my table away has I was 30 minutes late. I explained the situation and they said there was nothing they could do. I had booked with my family for my birthday and to say I was angry was an understatement. . I e mailed them the following day to show my disappointment only to be fobbed off with an apology. I certainly will never set in the salt box again. Disgraceful customer service run by kids

Just awful, limited menu so it wasn't even as if they had too many different things to cook! Will not be going back

Basic "ok" food. Awful service. Pleasant enough but 20 mins for drinks after complaining twice and I ended up after 20 mins of getting the bill going and finding someone at the main bar to pay after I got fed up of staring at my card on the table. Not even that busy. Basic food was ok nothing amazing. Fodder burger at best.

Went to strictly had 1hr 20 mins spare went in the saltbox,the staff were not very helpful at all,ordered food and were still waiting for it 50 mins later there was people eating that had walked in 20 mins after us so we just walked out hungry never ever go back there,shocking shocking place and i dont complain as a rule ---------

Called here for a pre theatre drink, and were visited by friends off to the concert. Decided to eat here and were very pleased that we did. Staff attentive and friendly food was nice, place buzzing pre theatre. We had a lovely couple of hours. Thank you.

Called in for a bite to eat before a concert. Very friendly with very attentive staff. Food was lovely and hot. Did get very busy but staff coped very well. Would highly recommend.

Called in the salt box before going to see Liam Gallagher , no football on the screens and all the tables were reserved . Staff were really friendly and helpful. Advice is book a table , but still a great pub with a terrific sound system . Would definitely visit the next time we’re in Nottingham

Please get the staff up to speed on being nice to customers .... Having to do silly tasks at a friends engagement party so they would serve my friend and then being called pathetic for ordering jack Daniels - and then to be called stupid because they "don't serve red bull, it's 'energy drink' " wow! Bar maid to bar maid I would've liked to show her what difficult customers really look like but didn't want to spoil my friends party.....great location but Jesus, get over yourselves!

Our group block booked the restaurant for a 3 course Christmas dinner. It was all pre ordered and they kept records of what each person had ordered so that we didn't have to wait long to be served. The food was really good, the presentation was great. All the tables were decorated in Christmas style with crackers, candy canes and chocolate coins for each diner. Wine was included too all for £25 per head. Lovely atmosphere and I'm sure that we will return to sample more of their menus.

Visited the salt box on Saturday whilst waiting for a concert to begin next door. The bar itself is modern and had a nice atmosphere. Was disappointed with the food. The steak which I asked for to be well done was so over cooked on the outside that it was a mission to chew, also was not well done as it was still bloody in parts on the inside. I would return again as the staff were helpful and the bar has a good atmosphere and it close to the arena, I will have to remember to pack loo roll as only one toilet on Saturday night had any which leaded to those awkward conversations with strangers asking to push some under the door.

Friendly staff and a good range of drinks and food. Well priced as well which means a no brainer to go here before a gig !!

Popped in for a quick bite to eat before going over to the Arena.

Ordered nachos for two. We spotted a nachos plated up sat under the warming lights when we sat down after ordering which after a few minutes disappeared, followed by a waiter bringing ours over. What arrived was a pan of lukewarm, soggy tortilla wraps cut into triangles, covered in the toppings. Disappointing when nachos are usually of the crisp variety and the menu didn't make this clear. When we complained about the temperature of the nachos and chilli (which given we suspect it had sat under the hot lamps a while was still quiet cool!) a staff member asked why we'd returned them. When we explained we were offered a new one - which we didn't want given we expected nachos, not soggy cut up wraps, or a dessert which clearly wasn't what we'd come in for. No refund was offered. Overall we're very disappointed, £10 out of pocket, and never coming back!

Love this bar/ resteraunt have some great deals on food and have live music and events aswell! Yet to have a bad afternoon/evening. Definately worth checking out I'll be returning thats for sure

Excellent venue for this Soul and Jazz Funk night great DJs all made up for the busy bar service. Unfortunately the cloak room was limited to a few coats? As the area was being used for the Jazz Funk dancers and DJ. Shame the other bar was closed off maybe the buckets of water suggested a leaking roof ? However all good

We booked the table for 6:15pm so we would have plenty of time to go to the show at the Arena next door (show started at 8pm prompt).

£16.30 for a pint of Peroni and a Portobello Gin & tonic is horrifically expensive. I will not be going back.

It was my first time visiting the place. I just want to try out the food over there while I am just catching up with my own paperwork. I had the classic burger recommended by a member of staff. It was a good choice and some great customer service too. It made me feel welcome. I always pass it every time when I go to work which this restaurant literally around the corner. I want to try it out, so I did.

Called here before going to a show,staff mixed bunch some very friendly some quite rude.Food was awful Lukewarm burgers terrible chips hard baps not a good experience at all.

there were a few problems along the way, tried to serve our starters twice and had to wait for mains, they were experiencing staffing issues, but the manageress came to the table and apologized and sorted some desserts for us as an apology

I live in the apartment next to the salt box. Every weekend when they are open I can here base music until 2am!!! How can you get sleep?!?

I visited Saltbox for an event recently. It has a lovely vibe, looked clean and was an enjoyable experience

Decided to get a quick bite to eat before seeing Peter Kay at the Motorpoint Arena. We booked a table in the restaurant, we was hoping to eat from the restaurant menu but we're given the bar menu. The burger didn't disappoint fortunately and the staff member gave us some discount as we expressed dissatisfaction, this is good service and I will definitely visit again. The burger was really tasty as we're the skin on fries, I would of liked more coleslaw as the portion was very small.

I came here with family for a special occasion, it was quite a large party to say the least! Ranging from 53-1 and A mixture of meatheads, fussy eaters and a picky vegetarian. The service was brilliant, super fast and couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely, large portions for a very reasonable price and a wide variety too. Quite a large restaurant seating available on two floors. To top it off the music was fabulous. Couldn't fault a single thing. Will definitely be returning ☺️

A couple of us went in here before going to the ice arena next door and were blown away by our experience. We hadn't booked a table and it was packed. The manager was more than accommodating and she found us a table in less than 10 minutes. Brilliant service! The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely return soon!!

Me and two friends last night visited salt box before going to the ice arena to see a concert, we were served by Daniella (hopefully spelt correctly) she was very kind and welcoming and made our first experience very memorable as she made us laugh and knew what to recommend from the food menu, and it was delicious!

Going to see a gig across the road, my sister and I popped in to grab a drink. It looked quite fancy, we were expecting extortionate prices. We looked at the menu and it was only £8 for a home made pizza! The food was amazing and arrived so quickly. All the staff we spoke to were pretty great - The waitress, Maud it said on the receipt, was fantastic the whole time we were there. The best guest service I've ever received - I'd hire her for the bar and lounge I work in without hesitation. Really attentive and extremely friendly without being intrusive. Dealt with fussy orders and the rising business levels as people piled in for the gig without any issues or fluster. Absolutely brilliant experience, great food made better by great service.

I was just walking by and seen this place, i like try new places and make a review about it so here we are.

Visited before an event at the motorpoint. A bottle of beer and a wine came to £9.20 which I thought was ridiculous. We had a hotdog and a pizza which were nice. Pizza should have had pesto on which was nowhere to be seen. Good for a quick bite to eat.

Pretty quick service ... reasonable menu ... pricey for what it is. £18 for two large gin and tonics and two packets of crisps seemed rather over the top. Food looked OK but nothing to shout out about. Standard pub fodder. But ... it is very close to the Arena so handy if you're there early or wanting to eat before the show.

Apprehensive about eating here as the reviews weren't great overall. We had booked, but didn't need to as on arrival the place was empty. However, the service we received from Sade was second to none. Happy to provide service, chatty and helpful. We sat in the restaurant and the menu was small but appealing and would cater for most tastes. I had the trout and my friend the chicken. We both had deserts, all for £16 each. The restaurant is in a fab place for the arena and a place you could grab bar food and drinks before seeing your show. Would definitely return, especially if Sade was our waitress

Nice venue and food was standard. I would have liked more choice though. Veggie burger was slightly dry. This is a good venue for visiting the Ice Arena.

The venue itself is fine - good position, nice decor, although the broken toilets could have done with being fixed...

How bad can a cheeseburger be? Try eating at this place. How dreadful can a Caesar salad be? Try eating at this place. Burger dry, tasteless and deeply unpleasant. Lettuce for the salad...unwashed. We complained. The "manager" (black hair, glasses - so there's no mistake) wasn't very interested. He came back with a bowl of Parmesan and suggested the grit on the lettuce was in fact cheese. When it was pointed out that grit is black and hard and Parmesan is soft and off-white he rudely said "What do you want me to do?" "A refund" came the reply. He then stomped off and returned with a plate of cash that did not cover the cost of 4 salads, only 2. No apology. Terrible service. Terrible food. Avoid this place like the plague.

We visted here on Saturday night. We had a table of six and just walked in on the off chance we could get a table.I have to say after reading the bad reviews I wasn't convinced it was going to be great. But I was very wrong we had a lovely waiter who couldn't do enough for us.The menu consists of salad,pizzas ,ribs nachos and pizza .The food came out quickly and we had a range of burgers nachos and pizza it was nice and not to expensive. Well situated next to the ice arena .I will be visiting again.

No idea why this place gets bad reviews, can only assume it's on "events" nights at the stadium & it's crazy busy.

We had pre booked our table a couple of days before the concert. Due to a road accident on route we had to detour which was going to make us late so we phoned to advise them we were going to be about 15 mins late. It was not a problem for them and when we arrived we were greeted by a very helpful young lady who took us straight to our table and gave us the menus. She came back within 5 mins took our orders for main course and dessert and drinks. Drinks and main courses arrived fairly quickly and food was excellent. Dessert followed again promptly and with a smile. Can not fault the quality of food or service received from staff. Will return again when we visit the arena for the next concert we book.

I'm in here for a quick drink before a show. Not very busy but the staff are lacklustre to say the least. Paid £5.10 for a small red! Was told only one cheesecake and one cake was available as desserts in the bar. Ordered one of each and wrong cheesecake turns up. Seen others sending pizza back. Only gets business because it's next to ice area. Really rather poor.

Booked here for a meal before the concert on Saturday night as it is on steps away from the arena, we wished we hadn't, it started off looking promising nice place friendly greeting

Went for a pre-meal here before a concert at the arena last night. It's steps away from the arena and after looking at the menu online which looked lovely and booking a table for 3 for 6.15pm (the concert started at 8pm so plenty of time for a meal) , we arrived a little early at 6pm so got a drink from the bar and were told to head into the restaurant where we would be shown our table. The waitress couldn't find the booking I had made through the phone earlier that day, but after a couple of minutes she found it and took us to our table. We placed our orders at approx 6.25pm and ordered 2 steaks and a beef dish, followed by 3 cheesecakes for pudding as it was a cheaper price for 2 course set menu. At about 7.05pm we were concerned we would not have time to eat both our main course and our dessert before the concert as we wanted to arrive just before 8 to buy a programme and find our seats. So we asked a waiter if it would be ok to come back after the concert for our dessert. He wasn't sure so went to check. At 7.15pm he came back to inform us that there had been a mistake in the kitchen and they had run out of steaks! So despite placing our order at 6.25pm and no mention of there being no steaks then, we were left to wait all that time thinking our food was being cooked, when it actually wasn't! Was a complete disaster. By this time we had not enough time to eat anywhere else and told them to cancel our meal! Ended up going somewhere else after the concert and eating at 11pm! We were shocked by the service we had received and this is clearly a place that is not geared up for having a full restaurant, despite being next to the arena. Will not be returning and would not recommend anyone else goes there. We were not the only ones who had problems. Table for 2 next to us who have also reviewed here had a terrible time and big table behind us were left waiting far too long and said good wasn't good anyway! Maybe we had a lucky escape... avoid at all costs!

After pre booking a table for 2 for 5.30 and arriving at 5.20 our drinks and meal order were taken but it took until 6.30 for our meal to arrive - after threatening to walk out. Our desert came after but the whole place is a total shambles. The table of 3 next to us were told after an hours

First time visiting this new establishment for a night out I must say if you are booking a party v.i.a a office or business every body who is within that party is accessible to discount, bar staff both main bar and VIP bar was excellent although I do not recommend the raspberry gin and tonic

If you want a drink close to the motorpoint arena the salt bar couldn't be closer.

The menu had been changed since the last time we had been and not for the better. We ordered pizza as it was the only thing going that appealed to us from the sparse menu. When it arrived, there was so much grease running off the pizza and then it just lay on the plate glistening. It was the worse pizza I've ever had. Anyone with high cholesterol.....Do not order pizza. We hadn't got time to send it back as we were midway between events at the arena and just ate a bit to keep us going. We just decided we would never go back. It was expensive too.

Just had a very good evening eating chicken wings and watching ice hockey. This is a smart, modern place but the staff are what really make it. They can't do enough for you and Maud, the young lady who served us was an absolutely wonderful. Our food was nice and my only criticism is the menu is a bit limited but I'm told they're working on a new one. We'll definitely be returning to try it soon.

As the header says not good ...... was a few months ago ordered a steak with hollandaise sauce nothing complicated sent the sauce back as cold came back microwaved hence scrambled egg this time chef hasn't a clue.Spoke to management his answer well we had a few problems with him but he told me he was a good cook hilarious attitude.The other main braised shin of beef poor quality frozen to microwave food.

Called in to the SaltBox when the Andre Rieu Concert was cancelled. Staff soon found a table and were very attentive to our needs. The starter of goats cheese for my husband and coarse pate for me was delicious. I went with chicken for mains and my husband chose the crusted salmon. We were very happy with the meal and asked that our compliments be passed on to the chef. Of course, we will tell her straight away, we were told. Happy to hear that the head chef was a lady. I am not sure why, but I am used to thinking that chefs are usually men, so delighted about that. The evening was added to by the lovely Maud. What a caring, attentive, efficient young lady she is. SaltBox, you have a real gem in Maud. We had a very pleasant evening, but I am well aware that because the concert was cancelled there were very few people around, so perhaps we were lucky. We will try it again when we go to Nottingham for the rescheduled concert, to see whether the SaltBox is as good.

The whole venue had been booked for a do costing £28 per person, which included a welcome drink, some wine on the table and the meal.

The Saltbox is right next to the Arena so ideal for pre meal whatever your reason for visiting.

Restaurant very busy. Excellent service, excellent food from a good menu. Very polite staff. Highly recommended.

We were greeted by a young lady whose name was Maud as we walked through the door, despite only having reserved tables available, she found us somewhere to sit to eat. some may think the menu limited, but there was a reasonable choice, we had the Duster burger and the buttered chicken both excellent and served very quickly despite being very busy. The staff were all very friendly. the guy serving us drinks could not apologise more for not being very quick as it was his first day. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had our meal and then moved to the bar, where once again the staff were fantastic, my wife sampling a cocktail and I had a very interesting pint of Blue Moon (an american craft beer). The place had a very good atmosphere. We will certainly be visiting again. Thanks Maud and the team for helping to make the evening

The place was buzzing as we could see from across the way,we arrived an hour before concert started so gave it a try we were very impressed atmosphere was great food very good staff all helpful good choice of everything there was a resteraunt inside as well This also looked very good

Popped in for a drink before show at arena. Bar pretty busy but plenty of staff, got served in a couple of minutes .Staff friendly, tables cleared and tables cleaned so was able to take a seat and watch the football. Various screens placed around the bar. First time visited, food looked good will visit again fro food

Rather late arriving for our reservation due to heavy traffic and finding back street ncp parking. However the staff and manager were totally understanding and could not have been more helpful and efficient in ensuring we had our meal ordered and served in good time before going across to the arena opposite. Very decent burgers served with plentiful fries and some very tasty and well-prepared salad and homemade coleslaw. Basically we were very impressed.

We had a meal here last night and really enjoyed it, we were the only ones in there, which made us think it was a wrong choice, but the food was great!

After spending a great summer here with brilliant staff, service and food... all is no longer good....since a change of owners all has seriously gone down hill. Some of the staff are extremely rude and make you feel unwelcome. The service is shocking and the food is of a poor standard. It's a shame as we used this as our local but now prefer to walk into town. I would no longer recommend this place. A real shame!!!!!.

4 of us went to this restaraunt this evening after attending my daughter's birthday treat - Frozen on ice . We arrived and were seated promptly, even though we were about 15 minutes late. There was only us in the dining room. The waiter was attentive, friendly and helpful. He turned the heating up when he realised we were cold. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was very patient with us as we took some time to decide what we wanted. Didn't get his name but he is an asset to the Saltbox and I hope they appreciate him.

Visited before an event at the Motorpoint Arena, as everyone in Nottingham seemed to be eating out & the top TripAdvisor places were all full. Average burger; average service; average decor & atmosphere; just above average prices. Nothing bad, but nothing special.

We were the first customers of the day, as soon as we walked in the door we were greeted in a friendly and helpful manner. Our order was taken at the table and everything was bought to our table for us from start to finish. This was not the norm we found later as more and more people came in but it certainly did not stop the new owners making sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent, service was quick and friendly.

My partner myself my son and friend popped in for a bite to eat before a show at the motor point.....we ordered our food and had to wait for over an hour for starters.... the mains came out before the starters had been taken away..... i ordered the swordfish... it came over cooked and was tough.... my partner ordered the rump steak medium with a dianne sauce..... it came rare .... the pasta dish our friend came and the sauce wasn't cooked cooked correctly and all you could taste was raw flour.... i could understand if it was busy but it wasn't...... don't waste your money here the manageress was good and gave us a discount but i will not return

We stopped here prior to seeing Bear Grylls at the nearby Motorpoint. They had an events menu, but good choices and reasonable prices. Great service from all the staff and plenty of room. Even though there was an event at no point did we feel rushed to vacate the table so they could get more guests in. Will be going back as the normal menu looked great

Went here on Saturday night for a couple of hours with my wife. It wasn't very busy inside, which we liked because we got a seat. Had a Peroni and medium white wine, which cost £9.30ish. Located right next to the Motorpoint Arena which is handy too. Would go back again.

Ordered food at 5.30 before a Panthers match and left at 6.55 in time for Face Off with NO FOOD. Got our money back but no real explanation as to why (despite interventions by a really helpful waiter and the Manager) the Chef had still not started our food by 6.40!! No attempt to give us another opportunity to revisit with vouchers, just a verbal apology and a suggestion to please call again - no way!

Had an amazing meal, beautifully cooked and presented, and we felt good value for money. We ate early, but was surprised it wasn't busier. Staff that served us were great, special mention to Matteo.

We popped in to have the burger and pint meal the place is very nice staff are very friendly and helpfull the food was very good freshly made burger best ive had the other hockey menu looks good and reasonable priced to we will deffo be back

we visited the saltbox by chance not knowing it was connected to Pizza Savai down the road, you can see the influence and the food and customer service 10/10 place is great, we will be back Stuart Matthews. nottingham

My wife wanted to have a look ,so we popped in and it was a very pleasant surprise . Great looking venue,customer service was good. I would recommend a visit.

If you are at the Ice Arena this restaurant is perfectly located. I anticipate that during concerts and ice hockey games this place is going to be VERY busy - and deservedly so. At other times it is a fantastic place to call by whilst in town. Good food and fantastic hosts. A very impressive place.

The staff did everything possible to accommodate my disabled friend. Fantastic service and really lovely food!

Thought we'd see what Mick and Tony had on offer as we love Savai and we're not disappointed, large spacious restaurant where you can nip in for a drink or stay for a meal. The food was just lovely as were the staff. Would recommend especially if you are attending an event at the Arena.

We stayed at the apartments above and visited on both nights for a drink and one of the evenings for dinner. We enjoyed it on both occasions

Saltbox has not been open very long and still has the look and feel of newly opened which is perhaps why it was so quiet on a saturday evening. Lovely meal, friendly staff and no delays in being served. This was a class meal but being so quiet the place lacked atmosphere. This restaurant deserves more customers so give it a try.

My title says it all, QUALITY, the decor is quality, the staff are quality, the food is quality, the atmosphere is quality. Was pure chance that i found this place, but so glad i did - really impressed, HIGHLY RECOMENDED

Dined in the restaurant & the food was excellent. There was a great selection of dishes to suit everyone in our party including a good vegetarian selection & really reasonably priced. Cocktails were great & staff were extremely friendly & made our night really special.

This bar doesn't look that big from the outside but it's like a tardis, it has all dofferent areas, the bar, mezzanine floor and the restaurant.
