You queue for 15minutes to then be told its a minimum half hour for Any food. I've seen queues move quicker at theme parks it would be better to out a sign up warning new people at the back of the queue about the complete lack of service enthusiasm and non function of this place. Whoever is the section manager for this needs to be first on the cull, it's a sainsburys disaster

So, two years on from my last review - and my 3rd visit in 3 years - things remain unchanged. Dreadfully slow and low-IQ staff who are unable to make a pot of tea and a cup of coffee at the same time, who forget to supply milk and then supply it when asked, in a cappuccino cup. I waited 25 mins for breakfast to arrive - Lord know why (again) and business was slow. When it did arrive - lo and behold - there were baked beans on the plate that shouldn't be there, the hash browns more closely resembled soggy tepid hideous lumps of cardboard, the bacon and sausages were at best tepid, mushrooms were like yesterday's left-overs and the eggs and toast were the only items with any residual heat. There will be no further reviews on this location. Prices have gone up, service and staff IQ has gone down further (if that's even possible). Shame on me for daring to give this place the benefit of the doubt (again).

This was an uninspiring cafe. I had a dried-up bacon roll in a rock-hard piece of French loaf. It took some time to arrive, despite there being few customers. I may just have been unlucky, as some of the other dishes being served, as the café became busier, looked more appetising than mine! The place seemed to be peopled with loners - but they may have thought that about me. It's quite cheap but I'm not sure that I will bother again.

Stopped for an early morning breakfast before a long drive to the Isle of Wight and really wish we hadn’t. Both ordered a simple full English and were served a Luke warm breakfast with dried over cooked scrambled eggs!! Hash brown was beyond dry and the bread and butter was stale... lady behind the counter was also rather grumpy... never again...

I wasn’t expecting much and that’s what I got at the Sainsbury Café in Tunbridge Wells. The queue was not that long but it took ages to order food from the one person operating the till and order point. I decided to try the “New - taste the difference steak and red wine gravy pie served with mash, peas and gravy” followed by an apricot and almond pastry washed down with a tin of Cawston Rhubarb drink. Once ordered, my food arrived quite quickly and was brought to my table by a very helpful and pleasant young man. The pie was OK though the proportion of thick hard pastry to meat was rather high. The meat however had no nasty bits and completely filled the crust. The peas were fine and of the type that come out of a can. The mash potato was interesting to say the least: At first, I had trouble cutting it and thought that a bit of stray pastry had found its way in, but no, this was a large thick area of almost burnt potato that had obviously started to weld itself to the bottom of the pan. Since the potato was very substandard, I left most of it. The pastry was poor; the pastry looked like it had been sat on and the apricot and almond was present but only just. The drink was expensive at £1.90 and though from a cabinet was not even chilled. I tried few cans and they were all the same. The place was clean and tidy and tables were cleared reasonably quickly. My meal came to £9.20 (no service) but was not good value

Driving to Eastbourne for a weekend away, this was the only place that we could find to park to get something to eat. I was sceptical about the quality of the food, but had no choice. I was pleasantly surprised by the choice and value of the food. The young waiter was polite and attentive when bringing the food over to the table. My only hope that my local Sainsbury's cafe is as good.

We had breakfast in the restaurant twice within the last month and both times it was overcooked. The eggs were frazzled around the edges and the sausages were almost charcoal on one side and pink on the other.and the toast burned. it is always a good idea to watch and care for the food during cooking. We weren't the only ones complaining others said it is a regular thing but nobody listens.

Incluso pude hacerlo.

We popped in here for a light lunch after doing a bit of shopping. We all ordered various omelettes - these were very clearly not hand cooked but microwaved. They had the texture of an old piece of sponge. Very dry and hard to swallow. They came with chips or salad. I chose the salad. This was very very limp salad leaves. They looked well past their best and to be honest it was so sparse I'm not sure why they bothered.I don't think we will be returning in a hurry!

Food ordering was really pleasant & easy, at a quiet unbusy time in the cafe (late afternoon). But unfortunately after at least 25 mins wait, four couples who arrived and placed food orders after my hubby & I, all received their food before us - as indeed did what appeared to be 2 tables of staff/management who also arrived after us. Think Cafe is about to undergo refurbishment so will be watching with interest ..................

Went in on a fairly busy saturday at 1.15pm. Myself and partner ordered paninis and were advised of a delay in grilling time due to the cafe being busy- understandable. We were handed a buzzer and received a rushed explanation of what it did, something about it buzzing in 5 minutes and to ignore it then it would buzz again and we would need to hand it back? We paid for our food at 1.23pm. At 1.50pm still no food. My partner enquired about the food only to find the paninis were still on the grill, rather burnt by this point. The paninis were STILL SERVED TO US BURNT. My partner asked if this was really the case and the lady at the till in a distressed manner said it would take more time as she would have to grill two more paninis. Eventually got the food and although grilled I think it was slightly undergrilled this time as the cheese wasn't completely melted but that's a little nit-picky. Suffice to say out of previous Sainsbury's Cafes I have visited this won't be a top priority to visit again.

Had completed weekly shop and hubby & son looking forward to breakfast as promised. Cafe empty, order breakfast at 10.08, at 10.28 breakfast arrives, sausages looked raw, so sent back, at 10.40 spoke to manager, who informed me that she had just put them back on... At this point I asked for money back. Her excuse for extremely poor service .... It was busy.... There was only a handful of people in cafe at this time. Money back, left with upset hubby and son . We have eaten here before, but it has been going downhill for a while, staff busy chatting to each other, and food poor. Won't be going back unless there is a major improvement in service. Good job area offers a good choice of both supermarkets and cafes.

Come here for breakfast most weeks, it just keeps getting worse and worse! The service is ok, but why is there 1 person taking your order, then getting your drink while I'm still standing 4th in the line, so had to go through this routine 4 times before they took my order, 2 people serving would be better! And the food just keeps getting worse everytime, the hash brown was full of oil, well the whole breakfast was, I had to mop the grease up with my napkin, and it was dark brown in colour, that can only mean it was dirty, not good! Maybe the chef should change the oil in the fryers

I was not that impressed and will not be back. The food was average and the staff gave the impression that they did not want to be there and serving customers was an inconvenience. The only time they were not surly was when they "accidentally" made about 4 gallons of chocolate milkshake for my daughter, giving them all a free one. Management needs to spend some time in there.

I didn't get the choice to swap items on my plate, so the bacon and egg went to waste, and I had to pay extra for the items I wanted. Long queues, staff that were visably overworked and stretched to the maximum and not very happy either, robotic in their ways compared to a more casual, personable, cafe staff have visited at other food places in tunbridge wells, with the same things asked and asked again each customer. Drinks are average. Food is average to poor with cold beans but warm fish. and while queing hearing microwaves pinging in the background yet paying £5-6 a meal easily makes you feel disgruntled. Staff again not just robotic on tills but on table service asking the same thing again and again to each customer, staff greet you in the queue and wonder around talking to people when there are no one queuing. This is a basic cafe that tries to hard to be something it is not. With better quality of food for the price, quality drinks for the price, happier staff, less long waiting times and less restaurant-style (when it isnt) atmosphere im sure this place would be ok.Should also add the lack of clean cutlary available, dirty trays, dirty seats and tables.

The cafe is really well laid out after seemingly a major refit. I hadn't been there for about 3 years and I was very pleasantly surprised by the overall feel. A very good choice of pastries, scones, fruit smoothies kept in ice, yogurt with muesli, cereals and a lot more besides. I decided to have a cooked breakfast. That was my mistake. My husband had the big breakfast and I opted for just eggs, bacon and toast. We bought coffees and were told breakfast would be brought over. The capuccino was very good and so was the latte. After 25 minutes, breakfast finally arrived: luke warm, very greasy (it almost slipped off the plate), 1 rather of bacon which looked like it had been boiled, 2 fried eggs both done to death and a slice of toast which had been greased to within an inch of its life. The couple at the next table were waiting for unbuttered toast and I can understand why! I would have preferred (had I known) to have the butter separately. But by the time the whole arrived, the toast was cold, limp and the whatever-margerine-was-used on it had set into a soggy mess. The coffees had been drunk but I didn't feel inclined to get another. Certainly not worth £11. I won't be doing that again!

Visiting the area and was recommended by our B&B host. Rang in advance to book a table and we did ask if there were veggie options as one of us is vegetarian. We were told there were but not as many as the meat and fish options. When we arrived there was only one vegetarian main course of Arranchini I asked if there was anything else and was told there wasn’t much call for veggie food there. Food was okay, expensive for the portion size and served without the option for extra vegetables, salads or breads. Decidedly average
