Went in with family after a hospital appointment I’m so glad they named the breakfast “all day breakfast” It seemed as though we waited all day for it to be served A very quiet time , no queuing ,plenty of tables vacant , no excuse ! It wasn’t worth the wait either Won’t be returning

I work 3 ten hour night shifts every week and on my last night I like to have a fried breakfast before I do my shopping, but today there was no hot food so I had to walk for 20 minutes into town when very tired after my Night Shift. This is the second time this has happened and will be the last as I will not be using this cafe again, option for more reliable sources which is unfortunate because the breakfast tastes very good.

Steak and kidney pie and mash - pie pastry was like slush meat tasted ok but everything cold. Ham egg and chips - both eggs hard ham no taste and chips just cooked both eggs and chips cold. Left both of the meals had to get to hospital down the road didn’t complain as didn’t have the time to, so doing this review instead

This was our first visit since C ovid started. We used to go once a week and have the fantastic fish and chips that were served then. This time we ordered it and were served the most disgusting meal that I have had in years. Whatever the fish was it was cheap and nasty, we did not eat it. Tea was in a huge cup, very weak and undrinkable. We were so looking forward to it but it was a total let down. We will not be back. I felt totally conned. Staff were as usual brilliant but the food was disgusting. You had a thiiving business in that cafe, you have killed it. What as a Company are you thinking about. Bring back our proper Cod and Chips.

Such a shame as this cafe used to be so good. First visit back since covid began and the difference is incredible. The food is just awful. Kids meal 3 measly nuggets but actually more akin to 3 pieces of popcorn chicken bites. No longer allowed chips with the kids meal you now get a ‘jacket potato’ I would use the term jacket loosely as it’s essentially a discoloured boiled looking sorry excuse for a potato cut in half. Avoid the cod and chips, it’s no longer the freshly battered experience it once was. It was a frozen portion deep fried and even the chip supplier has changed-no longer chunky fluffy chips but poor quality chewy ones. Talk about a bad advert as surely a supermarket cafe should reflect the quality of produce available to buy in the shop and this is an embarrassment. Even the peas were awful and it’s pretty hard to get them wrong. Sad really as all the staff in that cafe are lovely, it must be sad for them as I’m sure they were once proud of the meals they were serving but now I expect they just get moaned at all day for the poor quality they’re serving up!

Full English Breakfast served all day for £4 you can't beat it. Such good value the breakfast is cooked fresh they start at £1.50 for scrambled egg on toast. You would struggle to cook at home for this. We haven't tried any other food but will be back to put this right.

Very surprised with menu, no Vegan options other than baked potato without butter and beans was only option. Disgusting in todays climate as people are changing to planet based foods. What a let down and will definately not go there again. People with dairy allergies can only have a cup of tea or coffee as they do provide soya milk. What are you playing at Sainsburys, you are falling behind.

We called into today for a quick lunch. Seemed to be short staffed but the staff who were on coped very well, despite clearly being rushed off their feet they were polite and friendly. Our food was brought out quickly, whilst eating we heard the manager come out and praise the young girl who was clearing tables. So lovely to hear a manager full of praise despite clearly being so busy himself. Will be back for sure

The restaurant was very quiet. Perfect! Ordered our food and drinks at the till. Paid. Stood waiting for our drinks to be made by the ONE member of staff, who appeared to be multitasking to then be told that the food we ordered had sold out?!? So why wasn’t he told this by the people cooking the food?!? Anyway... not to worry, we didn’t make a fuss, just ordered something else instead. The food eventually arrived, everything correct, except one of the meals... the wrong meal, the one member of staff had got it wrong! So the meal brought out was then returned so the correct meal could be served! A bit of a disaster in all fairness. Yes the place was quiet, but not quiet enough for there to be one member of staff at the till area.... come on Sainsbury’s, this needs to be sorted out! The prices charged do not reflect the type of meals being served to your customers! £25 for 3 measly meals is NOT cheap. Lower the prices or up the game! Should have gone across the road to The County Arms where we ALWAYS get good food along with exceptional service.

If our breakfast looked or resembled the picture on the plate for the main post which it has previously we would have been happy, sadly it dint both meals contained hard eggs, akin to a rubber in texture, the hash browns tepid and limp, not freshly fried and hot, bacon tough, sausages not great, toast limp personally believe the majority of the breakfast had been kept warm for way too long. Certainly NOT worth the £12 for two meals, it was not busy so not as if the staff were struggling to cope with orders so can only assume the decline was down to standards and not keeping attention to what was being served. Wouldn’t recommend eating here at present, plenty of better options in or close to town.

Just had breakfast, the old chef lady with glasses wouldn’t swop 2 eggs for a single rasher of bacon! So I paid 80p for the scrawniest rasher I’ve ever seen, and the portions were small anyway. Also the toast had been cremated, the immense crunch nearly cracked my tooth in half, not to mention the taste of charcoal... noticed all the chef lady’s had glasses on, I think a check up is due ASAP. well back again working in truro , so back in for my brekkie , only to find they have changed the menu , they now call the bekkie the" taste the difference " basically saying they have pimped the meal , or dare i say the rebranded it so they have put the price up !!!!!!! up till now the brekkie was great value , £4.50 for 1 fried egg, 2 sausage , 2 bacon , hash brown , fresh tomato, baked beans and a slice of toast , now the price is £6,00 for 1 egg , 2 sausage , 2 bacon , 2 small vine tomatoes, 1 mushroom and a piece of slightly better quality toast , not alot of difference i hear you say , yes £1 50 's worth in my mind and to be honest no different in quality , also hash browns are an extra as are beans at a £1 , coffee £1 70 for large filter which i think is good value , but wont be going back there again and judging by the lack of workmen in there today , i think they think the same , so will be wetherspoons next week with unlimited coffee , cant understand why they need to change what was obviously a great deal ,

How hard can it be to get a pot of hot tea and a toasted tea cake? This is not a one off occurrence ....... by the time the tea cake arrives you have either finished your pot of tea or it has gone cold! For goodness sake sort out who does what in the kitchen and have someone dedicated to the toasted snacks, this is a simple but effective solution. Having toasted snacks fitting into cooked meals is madness.

Visited recently and what used to be a very large meal was a 'sausage sandwich' , used to be fresh thick sainsburys bread and at least 8 sausages within the bread , now there's no such thing , a 'sausage buttie' is the closest which I had which was a small plain roll with maybe 2 sausages in . i seem to be a regular here judging by the number of reports I have written about this supermarket restaurant. Its handy for a quick and easy meal, parking outside the door and its cheap enough for what it is.Their fish & chips plus mushy peas which I castigated a while ago have improved back to where they were; they are back to using a plate instead of a bowl. Price is now £4.50 and a pot of tea 50 pence, i would like to think the manager has been reading Trip Adviser?? and taken note of my comments.Service was swift and the lady who brought the food over smiled. Service at the till was slow, seem to spend a lot of time on Nector cards which I consider a waste of time, they should take money off the items like Asda.Parking is adjacent to the entrances with no messing about like Tesco's in Truro where they have a machine to clock you in and camera's to catch you out. I do not go there because of this. Plus they are expensive.

Was here in October; see previous report; however its handy if you are in the area, sorry to say it was indifferent, had the pulled pork which camr in a long roll with chips which were well cooked and Colesaw, not much pork and it was covered in a tangy Bombay tasting sauce which was all you could taste, fortunately I like hot Indian food, but the roll was too big for the meal. Give it a miss. My other half had a ham salad which was fine. Coffee a bit weak. Fortunately its not very expensive in their restaurant. Service was OK. It is popular at lunch times there was a queue at 13:00. No competition in the area so for an alternative you need to go into the town. The Sainburys in Exeter is much better for food.Sainburys is an expensive supermarket with lots of things where you have too buy two of something or pay through the nose, There is an Aldi just up the road with much cheaper prices on basics.
