Good food - just took a bit longer than expected given there were only a few tables full

This was a takeaway meal for a double birthday celebration, which we were really looking forward to. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the quality of the meal. The Chicken Pasanda was rather bland although it was edible, my husband had the Lamb Tikka Masala which was a very thick bright red sauce without any flavour other than tomato and the lamb was very tough, my granddaughter had the Lamb Tika Pasanda which she said was nice but the lamb was very tough. Needless to say we will not be returning.

All curries taste almost the same, 95% of time any kind of meet is dry and hard, at least day old. Is was to hot inside and smells badly.

I buy the kuramacurry. It's not good. I feel like's sugar. That's curry have too much sugar and cream. This is not indian curry. This is too bad. We so sad about this.

Visited this restaurant while on holiday. Didnt know what to expect, reviews looked good but this place blew our minds! By far the best food we had during our stay! The staff were attentive without being intrusive, the food was amazing and the place was packed with a brilliant atmosphere! 5 massive stars all round!!

We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to go out for a meal, at Sagor, as it is only a short walk from our house. We are new in town and had never eaten there so we went with some apprehension as, even which good reviews, a new restaurant doesn’t always agree with your palate. We need not have worried! Best curry I have ever had! The poppadoms were fresh and the pickles were tasty. My curry was fresh and delicious, and my husband’s chicken biriani was excellent. The staff were lovely, polite, and professional, and the restaurant is clean and pleasantly decorated. We’ll most certainly be back!

Ordered the usual. Easy to order. When it came it wasn’t hot it was luke warm. No taste the lamb madras. Would recommend Kathmandu next door it never fails to impress

Great food and well priced. The service is fantastic, the atmosphere was quit bland. Music started and stopped and when it stopped it was like a library in there. Biryani is excellent.

We all fancied a curry so we booked. The place was empty at 6pm. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delivered in good time, piping hot and full of flavour. By the time we left there were a few other tables in but the takeaway business was brisk.

I give 4 stars because the king prawns were overcooked, too dry and tough. And all the other dishes were very tasty.

The outside may look a bit scruffy but inside is lovely. Staff friendly, food delicious! Best chicken chat I've ever had!

My husband and I love curry, having 2 Indian Restaurants in our small village, and so it was inevitable that we would try a local restaurant whist in Devon for the week. The curry from Sagor was very tasty. I had a dish that I had not heard of before topped with aubergines and was not disappointed in the slightest. I recommend this restaurant.

No idea of the what the food was! We ordered Chicken rezala ( which is suppose to be a white gravy). Anyone can search over internet! It is a very popular indian dish! But to our suprise we got a tomato based chicken curry! Why put such names to the dishes when you have no idea what it is like! We called the waiter and the chef, but they were so adamant about this! And called it chef’s special! Before ordering please ask them what the food is going to be! Dont go by the name of the food on the menu! Please dont fool people ! What a waste!

Had a takeaway from here and wow, it was exceptional. I definitely recommend the chagra. Never tried it before but it was amazing. Sides were delicious too. Not at all greasy so didn't feel uncomfortable afterwards despite eating far more then I normally would. I haven't enjoyed a meal so much in ages.

We went to the sagor Indian restaurant in launceston tonight. There we four of us and we had a Beautiful meal there the service was Brilliant and they we very polite. Everything was spotless even the toilets. We will definitely be going back .

We had a takeaway from Sagor Tandoori and we can all honestly say it was the best curry we have ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection from the Poppadoms to starters, to mains and sides. We ordered our food once we arrived at the restaurant, had a very friendly welcome and were offered a drink while we waited. The staff were extremely friendly and we will definitely return the next time we are visiting the area. Thank you Sagor Tandoori.

I do not often use the word superb as I tend to reserve it for special experiences of which the visit to this restaurant was definitely one! The food was delicious and well cooked and presented. The service, advice on food strength and atmosphere were exactly that. Lovely place to be recommended highly and this was a midweek visit.

Family of four adults, all had different curries tonight. All tasted of sweet coconut puree except for the naans and rice. My chicken tikka massala was full of coconut and red as a red rose. We arrived at 8pm, unfortunately we were sat between the restroom door and a store room door and I very rapidly grew tired of being asked to move every time the staff required something from the store. We asked to move tables,which was done begrudgingly and slovenly,and being that I am reliant on a walking stick,we swapped tables with little/no assistance from the waitresses of which there were four and it wasn't especially busy. At 8.50pm I asked how much longer we would have to wait,and the response from the waitress was an indifferent"I don't know'" over her shoulder as she walked away. At 9.10pm our meal finally appeared,and was certainly not worth the wait. The sauce was gelatinous,rice dry and granular, and the chicken dry and stringy. One had the distinct impression these meals had been sat quite sometime before reaching us. Dismal indifferent service bordering on downright rude,and I have had better curries from the frozen isle in Lidl . Hugely disappointing as we have enjoyed many lovely meals in the past with excellent service. Oh and top tip ...if you are using supermarket condiments,it's not a great idea to decant them in full view of your customers.

I was really looking forward to trying this place whilst staying in Launceston for a few days - I wish I'd tried one of the other restaurants serving Indian cuisine instead. Poppadoms were served from a warming trolley it seemed, and the lime pickle was directly from a Patak's jar (I saw them using it to fill dishes). The poppadoms were actually pretty good but sadly I feel that our main dishes were quite possibly from Patak's too. I've rarely had such a tasteless Indian dish - it felt like there was very little ghee or seasoning, and my vegetable main was predominantly potato (which I'd asked them not to include due to intolerance and subsequently had to leave. I did point this out to the waitress but was offered no solution and I hate kicking up a fuss so just left it). Even someone with minimal cooking skills could have made it at home with a jar of shop-bought sauce. My partner's curry was equally tasteless, and he suspected the meat had been boiled and then coated in seasoning as opposed to being cooked in a clay oven. The naan and rice were the only fairly good part of the meal. Pair this with very slow service (though it was busy so I would have absolutely forgiven this had the food been good) and I would say we had a pretty poor experience.

Booked a table for our wedding anniversary today, service was warm and friendly, atmosphere spot on and the food was excellent. Well Done Ashik and the team first class, we will be back next time we are in the area.

I can only really review the tikka masala as I come back again and again for it. If you like coconut based curries then Sagor’s tikka masala is for you. Lovely tender chicken pieces in a rich, mildly spiced creamy coconut sauce. This along with pilau rice, popadoms and a peshwari naan and that’s my Saturday sorted. The takeway service is always good and price reasonable. By far the best tikka in town!

Amazing varied menu and each meal tasted very different and authentic. Reasonably priced although a few poppadums were missing but as we checked on collecting the issue was resolved. I would definitely order from here again as it was delicious

Whilst the takeaway food we've had has been okay in two of the three last orders they have supplied incorrect items. Frustrating as it's too much hassle to take it back. Also had to wait 30 minutes longer than the time I was told to collect which was already 45 minutes after I placed the order by phone. We'll be trying somewhere else next time.

Disappointed. There was a lack of aromatic flavours in any of the dishes apart from chilli (powder) The rice also a bit of a let down. Sorry for this review but we chose Sagoor basing choice on previous reviews.

A takeaway for two, and I found the food bland, portions on the small side, and prices above average for a takeaway.They made me a Meat and potato curry, I asked for it medium, but it came out as mild, and with much more potato than meat.The other curry was a spicy Tikka Massala, very average, and again the portion was on the small side.Two Pilau rice, and Nan breads, along with Popadoms, served without sauces were of average size and quality.

It didn't even come close to being a 1 star review! A cold burnt peshwari naan, cold soggy chips, a king prawn korma that had 4 prawns and all sauce (no veg)! Phoned to complain and I was met with hostility from the manager who was incredibly rude and so unhelpful. Was such a shame we saw such good reviews and were incredibly disappointed with the whole service.

Came here couple weeks ago, fairly run down, not clean, poor service

This is a strange review? it’s literally next door to the other Indian restaurant in the Town, which I originally ordered Food from but! when I went to collect it at the time I was sent too they seemed to have had no record of my order? which was very odd as I had the confirmation bill on my phone, so as there was nobody eating in the place a decided to give it a must and go next door which was by the way packed.....very strange?. anyway in ordered our Food and to be fair the guy behind the counter did say it would be about 30/40mins before our order was ready, ok that was fine. My Wife ordered a Tikka King Prawn Massala with Rice and I ordered a Chicken Tikka Balti with complementary Nan also Chips and Sag Bhaji. I thought when the Guy said 30/40 mins he must of meant 60/70 mins as that’s how long it took to come out, anyway he give me my Order as I was about to drive off there was a tap on the Window asking if he could check the order again, which I thought was ok...as he was checking my order? Another guy came running out of the Restaurant with a bag of Chips saying they forgot to put them in the Bag? this was weird as the guy who looking into my order said that the Chips had already been put in and he didn’t know what he was on about, so he gave the chips back to the other guy and give me back my order so that I could be on my way, as he did this I did say to him that are you “SURE”that all was correct? As I don’t want to come back again! He said all was fine and went off.....when I got the order back to our Cottage which was about 4miles away we started to tuck into our now well overdue Indian food AND guess what!!!! yes there were no Chips??? How stupid our Chip turned into 24 yes 24 Onion Bhajis perhaps it’s just the Cornish air or something I’m not sure? from the start until we unpacked our Food was a total joke, I did call the Restaurant to let them no that my chips were now Onion Bhajis but you no what that was a waste of time so I gave up the ghosts.....that was before we even started eating our Food, which was another thing completely, My Wife’s King Prawn Masala were well over cooked and were like bits of rubber in a tomato based sauce with no flavour at all!.... my so say Chicken tikka Balti was not much better as the Chicken was very dry and tasteless like bits of cardboard, they say it’s cooked with Pepper, Onions & Tomato’s well if that’s the case I couldn’t see anything remotely like that but just a watery Base Sauce that was about it, the Rice was very lumpy and Stogy with the Sag being more Sag stalks than Spinach?? to top it all off it was all Cold.....why do people put up with this service? I have been eating Indian Currys for over 50 years so I believe I have some idea what they should taste like after all of this time! the Food what we are all paying our hard earned cash for just isn’t up to par anymore and I’m not just taking about this Restaurant either......in all a very not so night round up of a lovely day.....so to say that we won’t be sampling any more Indian Cuisine in Launceston anytime soon....that’s just my opinion.

Had an amazing curry last week from sagor, I was reccomened from a few locals all raving about how good the food is. I completely agree, the food was very tasty and the service was just as great!Staff handled the busy night with a calm professional attitude. Very impressed

I get takeaway from here most weeks, always very tasty and satisfied with the great services from the waiters and waitresses. Always immaculately clean and feel safe coming to sagor under the difficult circumstances of corona. I always recommend sagor to friends and family, a very friendly environment.

We went in at 7.30 & didn't get our curries until 9.15! It wasn't even that busy but they were only concerned about the takeaway orders. Why bother opening the restaurant if you're going to ignore the diners? The front of house staff were doing the best they could but they were let down by the kitchen. We won't be returning!

We had the chefs special tandoori mixed nowabi bhuna which was very flavoursome and good value . There was a little mix up over our booked table but this was soon resolved. Staff were efficient and friendly.

We have been to Sagor many times before and haves always had a brilliant time, however tonight was not one of those times. The beers ordered were flat and had to be replaced twice. We waited over and hour and a half for our mains to arrive, and one of the mains was cold (was clearly left sat on a warming plate whilst the other food was cooked.) takeaway meals were very obviously taking priority over those customers eating in. The poor girl working tonight was being ordered around and couldn’t finish clearing our table before she was being asked to clean another table and then serve someone else’s food. The staff were wearing gloves, however were not changing them between taking peoples card payments, picking up rubbish from the floor or touching their faces. No face coverings or shields were being worn by staff either which was not encouraging to see during this pandemic. The food itself was worth the wait as the flavours were wonderful as always, however the service was a serious let down. The owner did take off the cold meal from the bill which we were grateful for.

Very disappointing, never had a bad meal up untill now, had to wait for our order but they were very busy, so exceptabl.Food was awfull 3 different dishes that all tasted the same, plus full of coulering so it looked more like kids play paint than a curry sauce What's really disappointing as when we complained they did not have the decency to reply hence this review We were not not looking for a refund, just wanted them to be aware.

Had a fantastic meal here, everything you expect from a classic curry house, service was great - bordering on silver service, even though it was busy... right down to the warm towels and mint chocolates with the bill!

Was table of 10 was very accommodating very polite starters was better than the mains. Was nice but not the best iv tasted. Chicken was rather over cooked and dried out so bit disappointed. Don't think I'd go back again.

Been getting food from here since 1999. It is always good and there is plenty for vegetarians and gluten free and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I Amazingly Good Value Indian Takeway and Very Friendly and helpful Staff, ( unjustified Negative Reviews I find if you Impolite or rude to People that's generally the response you'll Get Back) So try the Restaurant again But Check the Grumpy at the Door Be Pleasant and polite and you will Receive a the same in return,

If I could leave zero I would but I came here a few days ago and the young waiter was incredibly rude and arrogant . Our food took a while to come , it would’ve taken quicker to drive home and cook one myself . Then the plates came out dirty . I will most definitely be looking elsewhere to take my partner . Avoid at all costs honestly taste of the Himalayas is so much better

Visit here for our weekly Indian meal out. Can honestly say we have NEVER had any problems with meal, drinks or staff as per some of the unjustified bad reviews. Food is always excellent, and they will modify the "heat" up or down if you ASK. I wish reviewers would think before posting, if a place is busy, you may have a bit longer wait for FRESHLY cooked food.!!! We will be back again next week, and the week after etc.
