Bude Tandoori in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Very overpriced, the food is more expensive than London,Surrey & West Sussex Curry Houses. The Onion Bhajis are the worst - imagine having Bhajis the size of a Malteser& no flavour & it will cost £4.50 for the displeasure of eating it. I had the Chicken Tikka Bengal Naga- asked for extra Hot - it was ok,the Waiter was surprised I had eaten it and said they could do it more spicy next time- basically cook what I asked for in the 1st place and did not get.

Very disappointed in the onion bahji starter, very very small, (you get these mini balls of onion bahji which ive never seen before) and to pay £3 for a tiny pot of mint raita is ludicrous. Very pricey for a family and nothing special.

The meal we had the chicken was very tough and both meals had no taste. Very disappointed with the onion bhajee again no taste and you got 10 small ones which were also tough to eat. Very disappointed and would not recommend

1st time eating at this restaurant while on Christmas holiday visiting family and what a fantastic surprise. As a chef of 30 years experience I can assure anyone eating here that you're in possibly one of the best Bangladesh restaurants that I've eaten in. Every dish on our table was served piping hot, full of brilliant flavours and aromas. A real gem of a find and looking forward to returning for another excellent dining experience. 100% recommended!!!

Everything was splendid with great service, tasty and warm food with the correct level of heat to meet everyone’s wishes. In addition, there was plenty of it to satisfy a good appetite which, by 2045, I had. The surroundings in the restaurant is modern and clean cut although I did miss the normal Indian music. Well worth a visit.

Excellent Cuisine, excellent service. Reasonable prices. Plenty of parking spaces immediately outside restaurant should you book an early table. Highly recommended.

We went and ordered at the restaurant and waited about 20 mins. CASH ONLY. Large portions and the food was still hot and tasty when we got home. Slightly higher priced than we are used to but hey its in Bude and it was quick and easy. We would return.

Food is very good but unbelievably rude staff. I visited quite late, about 9.50 pm, knowing, according to their website, closing time was 11.30 pm All went relatively well, although the small server never smiled or welcomed me. In fact, when I asked for a table just for me, he looked aghast. The proprietor, or so I imagine, was behind the bar fiddling with paperwork. He never welcomed me either nor looked up. I had to ask for a drink?? I had to ask to order papadums?? Eventually, the governor came over with a straight face to take my order. To be fair, the food was very good and the time I had to wait was reasonable but the atmosphere was cold. The server tried to remove my, as yet unfinished papadums and chutney twice, and I told him to leave them. Then, as I met near the end of the meal, they tried to remove some dishes not yet done with and I had to restrain them again. All the while I could feel tension and I knew my experience was ruined. And then the server came and picked up my half empty bottle of beer and glass to take it away and I had to stop him

Really decent Indian restaurant. We had the chicken shashlik, garlic chilli and chicken shashlik bhuna for mains, and all three dishes were delicious and we all enjoyed our choices. The rice and naan accompaniments were lovely too. Service was friendly and efficient on a fairly busy Saturday evening in high season (mid-August).

Indian food was very nice, young staff were attentive with no waiting and didn’t interrupt meal. Unfortunately, no dessert menu.

I have lived in Cornwall for a year now, this is the best curry house i have experienced in Cornwall. I have dined curry everywhere in UK, including Mumtaz in Bradford. It not just the consistent quality of the food it is also the unconditional service of your host Islam. There is adequate parking opposite next to the golf course.

Placed a drinks order with a very young inexperienced person who managed to get my drink right ,just giving me a Tonic rather than a Gin and tonic,no lemon and my wife's diet coke with no ice or lemon Poppadoms with dips were fine .Our starters ,onion baji and lamb samosa were very average, samosa overcooked.My wife's main ,Chicken Tikka Shaslikwas very poor ,none of the vegetables were cooked and inedible. I had ordered Chicken Tikka Biryany,the chicken was cot into very small pieces and the Veg curry which came with it ,tasteless. When our plates were cleared ,we were asked about our meal at which time my wife expressed her disappointment with her food .The person serving us said he would relay our comments to the chef.When he returned with our bill ,he made an excuse on behalf off the chef,however we were still charged the full amount. He also asked us if we were locals or just visiting for whatever reason .Won't be coming back here again

Recently called into this Asian fine dining restaurant and was left Disappointed ! The younger waiter when asked, said they didn,t serve fruit juice ! When on questioning him about this , then said , that they did in fact , serve apple & orange juice ! Not a great start ! Absolutely , no atmosphere ( e.g. No music , no booths , all you could hear was the clientel talking around you , which didn,t instill any relaxation ! ) I had forgotten to order pappadams ( MY FAULT ) and when i went back to re-order , was met with an unfriendly ` Well you didn,t order any " , which wasn,t the reply i had anticipated . This was the head waiter , who reminded me of a James Bond villain. The food was , in my opinion very bland , i suspect the food was frozen rather than fresh & the bill was overly expensive , for what my partner & i recieved . Next time will avoid !

We were first time diners here and had quite a long wait for our order to be placed. I think due to staff shortages? We were very happy with the food when it arrived and the service from a young waiter was good. The biggest problem was a 25 minute wait for the bill as there was only one person who could do it. This nearly made us late for an appointment so we just paid the bill without checking. We realised later we had been charged for more drinks than we had consumed. We would still get food there but as a takeaway only.

Fabulous meal for 5 of us. We loved all the dishes and especially the mini Onion Bhaji. We will definitely be back in our next visit to Bude

Had takeaway again from here because we like their food. This time it seemed especially good, thank you very much.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We started with the Samosas and then had the Peshwari Chicken curry, which was a s described, a good spicy taste without being too hot. Plenty of chicken in the curry and the side of mushroom rice was also good. Service was efficient, especially as one person was serving a table of eight and dealing with the phone and takeaways besides serving us. Good food at very reasonable prices, intend to return when we are next in Bude.

We’ve been here several times. Basic interior, always a bit short staffed which makes for a curt owner, but we like him anyway. He’s efficient and runs a tight ship. Food is always great. We’ll be heading back soon.

We visiting Bude Tandoori for a sit in meal and were impressed as always. We love Bude Tandoori, since we moved to the area a few years ago we have tried all of the Indians in the area and this is our favourite. You can always rely on fresh, tasty food at a good price with friendly service. We love their draught lager too! We often get takeaways and they are always amazing. Highly recommended!

Great food, zero complaints. I had the veg pathia, with cauliflower bhaji and keema rice, plus the inevitable poppadoms to start. All very tasty and well-spiced, with the pathia perhaps being a little hotter than expected. The cauliflower bhaji in particular was excellent.

Me and the wife were searching for somewhere and the clock was ticking after a later than planned arrival in Bude. We happened across this place and were delighted they would serve us with 1hr 15mins to go until the dreaded curfew!Food was great and served quickly, wifey particularly liked the Paneer Tikka Shashlik which was a change from the norm and great alternative for a vegetarian! I had the Dupiaza which again was a change. Very friendly hosts. They ran out of poppadoms which was the only disappointment but in these trying times you have to learn to be more accepting of such things. Will return one day!

Visited on Thursday 15th October as we were visiting the area for the week! We had pre booked as we didnt know how busy it could be. When we arrived we were seated, restaurant is small but they had followed all the covid guidelines and we felt completely safe. Ordered drinks which came quick. The restaurant wasnt busy but they had a lot of takeaway orders which didnt affect the service at the restaurant. The food was amazing!!! Super hot (temperature) and really flavoursome! We couldnt fault a single thing! Id highly recommended this indian if your ever visiting.

Got a takeaway was quite expensive, nearly £50 for 2 mains, 2 rice, 2 bread, poppadom and 2 beers and the Jalfrezi was swimming in grease. Probably wouldn’t go back as there are better options around.

Came here after a long day's walking. We were both hungry and a little bit bedraggled from the bad weather. Ordered Hari Murchi Bhuna, king prawn rogan josh plus sides. The food was hot, tasty and served promptly. One of the nicest Indian meals we've ever had. Would definitely come here again and highly recommend!

Tired and weary after a hard day working, we needed a pick me up without the faff of cooking. So, after a while away, we phoned for a takeaway. Order was taken professionally and repeated back. Lots of different orders and sides but ALL of the food delicious and wonderfully cooked. The food was fragrant and hot. Spiced beautifully, soft meat, flavourful sauce combined with fluffy rice and excellent popadoms and Naan bread. The dishes all tasted individual and brilliant. Even better combined in a toasted sandwich with Lime Pickle as a pick me up after a wonderful, if slightly overdone night. Thank you for making our night in so wonderful. We will be doing it again very soon.

A warm welcome awaited us and we were shown to our table straight away despite being a few minutes early. The restaurant was extremely clean including the toilets and there were plenty of hand sanitizer available. Our order was taken promptly by a friendly attentive waiter and the food was excellent and plentiful. I went for the chicken tikka with a side of vegetable curry. My hubby went for a chicken buna with a side of Bombay aloo. All came piping hot and excellent quality pieces of chicken with a lovely selection of vegetables in the curry. As we couldn’t finish it all we asked to take it away and this made another excellent meal the following day!

We visited the restaurant on the first day of the new Covid regulationsThe staff were well presented and friendly. The waiter reccomended a chicken dish for my wife as she explained she didn't like anything too spicy. Our food was hot and perfectly cooked. We visit every time we come to devon/cornwall, happy toMake the hours drive from our cottage. It always delicious, food tastes incredible, tasted fresh and was hot on arrival to the table. Staff are always very friendly. Felt safe, there are no screens but you are sat at least a tables widths apart. It felt much more natural and normal, and safe. Staff where constantly buzz around cleaning. Recommend for absolutely everyone.

Located at the top by the gold club, spacious inside, decor ok, menu is ok what you would expect, we tried a couple of specials and found them both bland. Rice was not the best again bland. Be warned do not eat the chocolates when you get the bill they taste like soap not sure how you mess up chocolate but don’t eat them. ‍♂️

On our visit they seemed short staffed, all the hard work by the young lady was undone by the two male staff; both of them had masks which were not worn to cover mouths and noses. They had a busy take away service which slowed the table service so a 35 min wait for starters and a similar wait for our main course. We then discovered the tables eithers ide of us were booked to later groups, which meant diners on adjacent tables were sat side by side less than a metre apart. Having waited over 25 minutes after finishing our meal we went to their bar to pay. there was no apology, nor the mints served to some others. All the food was very good and reasonably priced. But appalling service and covid insecurity means never again for us

They are advertised on dog friendly in bude , I called and asked if I could bring dogs.. said we could so booked a table , got there and were treated like dog poo, rude arrogant staff as asked to leave with dog , if manners and attitude anything to go by AVOID

Ordered 2x chicken tikka biryani, cheese and garlic breads, 2x lemonades. £32. Not worth it. The dish had no taste, only time I have ever requested seasoning and had to add salt.

We came here for a meal when visiting Bude for our holiday. The starters were delicious we had tandoori mix the chicken was very tender and soft. The mains were nice but the chicken was a little tough so let the meal down a little bit. The curry’s were very tasty though.

We make a point of going to this restaurant when we visit bude as the food is great. If you like Indian food and are in bude then make a point of going. Service is top notch as well.

Have visited this restaurant before and it was amazing. Last night it was a bit off. Food took a long time to come and when it did, aubergines in brinjal bhajee were undercooked, and son said his chicken was very dry. Nevertheless, flavour was good and I'm sure it's just a one off.

Exceeded all our expectations, there are 3 Indian restaurants in Bude and we weren’t sure which to choose, one we walked by and saw other customers coming out complaining about how hot it was inside and the other was closed on a Tuesday so we tried our luck in Bude Tandoori and we wee so impressed, really good food. We had the chilli and garlic traditional dish and it had a brilliant spicy kick, the peshwari naan was one of the best I’ve ever had and the garlic rice was amazing- the garlic was sticky and caramelised. Can’t wait to go back

We had great expectations of going to an Indian restaurant in England and we were rewarded for that. All the things we like about Indian food you get at Bude Tandoori, from the Tika Massala and the lambs curry to the papadums: delicious!

We met up with friends as we’re staying near each other in Cornwall. This was an excellent choice of restaurant. The food is great — my lamb rogan josh was delicious. The owner was very courteous and attentive. Would heartily recommend Bude Tandoori if you’re looking for a decent curry.

We are a couple of balti loving brummies and we have always loved leaving our Devon home and heading back to brum to eat a balti. However, we have just eaten a lovely balti here in Bude. When we told them how fab it was we were told that the reason was a simple one - the chef is from Birmingham. Really great evening and food. We will definitely visit again!

We absolutely love this restaurant, so it was and easy decision to make this our first dining out experience since lock down. As usual we were not disappointed. We noticed they have some new members of staff. One young lady in particular (Kelsey) was outstanding. Great customer service. The food was superb as always. We’ll definitely be back.

On holiday in Widemouth bay last week we decided we fancied a curry - not having had one in a restaurant since lockdown. Found this little gem near to the long stay car park. The owner warmly greeted us whilst observing the new regs, and guiding us to our table. Everything was wonderful - distinct flavours to both curries and the bhindi bhaji was lovely and fresh, not slimy at all. The owner was chatty and engaging throughout. it wasn't terribly busy, but we were early for dinner but they seemed to be doing a roaring trade on take aways! We will be back in September!

Visited this tandoori on the last night of our time away here. The manager had evidently taken on too many customers to handle. He was rude. Didn’t listen to anything we asked politely for. Only thing good about this place is the lovely young blonde girl, but unfortunately we didn’t catch her name.

Top 20 in United Kingdom by far as this Indian restaurant has to offer, me and my wife popped in for a meal in the evening the place did not look wow a little run down but please don’t be fooled, the amount of knowledge and expertise this team has was brilliant and I’ve have to say they talk and walk it too, well done the food was Succulent, Divine and extremely yummy! I also have to say why doesn’t this restaurant do delivery which is a shame, but don’t worry guys next time we are here we will return.

We went here for a 70th birthday believing it would be a reasonably priced night out that everyone could afford. What we didn't bargain for was the underhand tactics that would be used to get us to drink champagne that no one had ordered and that ended up costing us an unexpected £100! Beware of them bringing a bottle to the table and asking which champagne the guest of honour would like. The guest of honour will naturally think that someone else has ordered it, everyone else will think someone else has ordered it and even if you ask who has ordered it from the staff they don't get back to you. Basically the first you know of it is when you are presented with an enormous bar bill. When we went back to question them about it they were insistent that they always offer champagne to large parties and that one of us must have agreed to it. This is totally untrue and to be honest took the shine off what should have been a fabulous evening. BEWARE!!! AS an aside I'd also say that the portion sizes are somewhat small.

Very friendly service, great food. Although a quiet night in the restaurant we were not rushed. Recommend the Bude Tandori.

No complaints on the food here. Ample portions, cooked well, and relatively cheap in comparison to a number of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Only down side was service a little on the slow side, though I understand they do take away also.
