I recently dined at portreath tandoori and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Despite hearing good things about this place, my visit was far from enjoyable.

It was a good experience, being not so far from the beach and getting Indian food on a reasonable price is best we can have at Portreath. We had a large group and tried many different varieties, but all was good in flavour, no disappointment.

First and last time of using, food was not authentic tasting and almost tasteless, sag paneer worst along with spicy poppadoms which were so hard were inedible, Korma was ultra sweet dreadful. This was my birthday meal so disappointed

Pretty good curry, would use again. Good value for a takeaway.

Took friends out for dinner as they had never been before. Went for Sunday Night All You Can Eat Buffet. However, we were unaware the restaurant/take away had changed hands 5 months ago and, at present, the buffet is unavailable. On saying that, they give you a deal for the same price and boy was it worth it? It certainly was!! We all had starters, poppadoms and the little dip bowls. Plus main meal off the menu, shared a rice between two and a huge naan bread! The food was absolutely delicious, customer service was excellent and even the chef came out with a kind word. Less than £70 for all 4 of us. . I would recommend this restaurant in a heart beat! Well done guys!! 5 star treatment Ps You still take your own booze too 😁

Got a takeaway from these guys last night. Really falvoursome curry’s and lovely naan bread. Would definitely recommend, and will defo order again.

Blatantly over charged. Family of 4 ate in. Food was ok, nothing special (albeit butter chicken was over sweet). They don’t have a licence so no alcohol. No atmosphere and only one person working the takeaway and restaurant. Empty so also no atmosphere in restaurant. Prices in menu were what I would expect for a good Indian. Shock however the bill when presented over charged almost every dish by£1 or £2 each. Only when I challenged it did they say - oh we have new owners and we haven’t printed new menus yet. That’s the new price… and still expected me to pay. When I refused they went to check with manager, which then was reluctantly accepted !! Shocking and clearly against the law to charge more than the advertised prices without informing. Food also Definitely not worth the inflated prices and barely the original.

Defiantly 5 o it of 5 food was hot arrived before predicted time. Naan bread was lovely and cheeses (I went for the cheese naan) would defiantly recommend.

Ordered food at 18:20 it’s now 20:03. I called the restaurant they said it’s probably traffic. I’m literally 5 mins down the road at the Amazon site. I Used to order here regularly now I remember why I stopped, I’m going elsewhere now. I could get a curry from Truro quicker than one 5 mins down the road make it make sense.

Had a takeaway was not impressed, not my usual Indian takeaway but wanted to keep it local, the chicken biryani was hard and the vegetable curry was like a runny soup. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend, what a shame

SHOCKING!! Over hour and quarter late, fobbed off when I called after it being 45 minutes late, to be told it's on its way (I live 10 minutes away) and it still took another 30 minutes, no apologies for being late and then to top it off my vegetable curry was missing!!!! That was supposed to come with the biryani, £45 for a quite cold and awful meal. That's the last two times now I've had issues, definitely not using again. What's the point in ordering early then having to wait over 2 hours for your meal, I could've walked there and back quicker. Won't be getting my custom again!!!

Had food deliver’d from Porthreath Tandori 31st of October. It arrived an hour late after two calls to see where the food was. Food had leaked out in the bag it was deliverd in and was all over the containers. The Balti was cold along with the rice, my partners scampi was burnt on one side and raw on the other. Not recommended. Maybe eating in there is a better experience but I wouldn’t recommend getting take away deliverd from there. Total rubbish. A waste of £35.

Used the takeaway service and was excellent, ready for collection at the right time, friendly welcome and service, food was all very fresh and tasty, very reasonable cost. Highly recommended

Tried to order for tonight (21/09/23), the website says open at 17:00 pickup from 17:30 delivery from 18:00 as of 08:00 the earliest delivery is 19:00, no use to us. I suspect this is as much a Food Hub problem as a Porthreath Tandoori problem, either way after 3.5 years of using them, and always finding pre order stressful this is the end. Paul.

Had takeway. Really good food tasty and plenty of it. It was on time and the staff were nice!

3 hour waiting still not here, phoned to see why its not come apparently left the resturant 1 hour ago so going to have sweaty curry soon. No wonder I keep getting dodgy stomach.

On holiday in Cornwall for a week and didn't fancy eating out so got a takeaway (collection) from here. All the food was excellent, great flavours and not greasy. Large portions and they don't skimp on the meat in dishes. Would recommend as a great alternative to eating out.

If you want boutique hipster experience this is not your restaurant, I almost turned around and went somewhere else. But if you want arguably the best curry you’ve ever had this is place will hit the spot. I had Tawa Lamb, I’ve never had anything like it but loved it. Pannier Sag and Lemon Rice. It was all exceptional. The chef came out to take my order and was happy to modify meals if this is what you wanted.

Every time I have a meal it beautiful hot But lastnight I had a delivery of a chicken korma and it was thick and stoggie and the chicken was very dry which is unusual for them to send something like that out and it was my birthday meal so had no choice to put it in the bin (sorry portreath god know what you did to make it like that)

Nice dinner. Decent food at a good price. Ordered online and picked up in person. Quick and easy to complete

The staff were so friendly and calm but of ourselves the food was delicious and had many options to fill you up, I hope we can come again soon

We ordered a large amount of food tonight to be honest in the past on a Wednesday I wouldn't give it 5 stars we come from lanner to collect from portreath a little wait but it was so delicious 🤤 absolutely recommend it again

I have been waiting 3 hours for my food iv been told 45 minutes then 10 more minutes my children was hungry waiting and fed up

The peshwari naan bread was lovely, but the korma had no flavour, tikka was sweet and poppadoms was soft like they was stale. Took half an hour to get to us.

Had a delivery, received a telephone call to update and ask if it was OK to deliver food a little earlier, absolutely! Food was lovely and hot we really enjoyed it and will definitely be ordering again. Thank you 😁

We booked as a group and I was well pleased with the choice on the menu and the food was lovely. This place also does deliveries.

I ordered a vegetable biryani, there was no spice at all in the dish, the curry was full of mushy veg, no taste, the rice was greasy, no taste, no spice. My partner had chicken tikka masala, the sauce was watery, the chicken was burnt. The only good part was the popadom! The meal cost £33, Far too much money for lack of quality of food. If you want good Indian food I recommend you don’t go to this place!

Forgot naan bread. Phoned them up. Before we served up naan bread was delivered. Amazing hot fresh food. Amazing delivery lady. Friendly apologised although not her fault. Would recommend 110%. Amazing

What a load of rubbish...being told they couldn't find us...we called 3 times this evening and notnonce were we told this. Also, they've been delivering to this address for years....a load of rubbish. Do not use.

would love to be enjoying my curry but despite being told it would be delivered by 8:25pm...it's 9:55 and still no curry. 3 phone calls later and nothing, wont refund us unless we go there tomorrow. hungry, tired and will never use again.

First time dining in (as we normally have takeaways) it was a Sunday evening & we had the buffet, it was a lovely, starters we're onion bhaji, veg samosas & chicken tikka, mains where chicken korma, lamb Madras & chicken bhuna with pilau rice, naan bread & a Bombay potato, plus popadums all for £13.95, excellent as always, many thanks.

Ordered onion bhaji did not arrive in the bag phoned no one answered! Parathas we’re chewy very thick and stodgy and totally inedible. Shall not be ordering from here again!

Great meal in a most unusual setting. Almost like a very clean transport cafe inside but the food was absolutely lovely and the service was good! Give it a try!

The food was very nicely cooked and full of flavour. The staff were also friendly and welcoming. The décor could do with just a bit of an update, and for more people to know the restaurant is here. We'd be back, for sure!

Considering this was recommended I found this to be the worst Indian food I've eaten since moving to Cornwall. Over cooked, dry meat and chicken. Tasteless naan bread and ridiculously sweet korma sauce and only 5 Prawns and 1 piece of potato in the prawn curry.. avoid ! Looked nice but ended up in the bin. HairyFoodyGuy on YouTube

Truly excellent curry , we are from Bradford and use to good curry's, it matched up to the best we get at home. Definitely worth a visit

We ordered a delivery online via their website at 6:10pm which said it would take over an hour to prepare and deliver. We were prepared to wait that long, given it was New Years Eve. The timer counted down, got to zero, told us our food was "prepared", "on route" and "delivered", still no food. Tried many messages on the chat group on their order page, no response. Tried phoning, and eventually got through to a nice lady. She took my details, asked how I had ordered and said the driver was on the delivery round and my food would be with us soon. No food arrived, and we had been charged for a meal we didn't receive. I sent an email to the company that evening and received no response. I telephoned 5pm (opening hours) the next day and spoke to the same lady. She said she was shocked we didn't receive our order and took a few details, saying she would look into it. By January 5th I had still not heard from the business, and had not had a refund, so I sent a further email, which was responded to immediately by "Ali" who said the accountant would refund my money. On the evening of the 6th, I still had no refund, so again sent a further email which said the accountant was dealing with it. At 530 on Friday 7th I finally got the refund. We don't mind waiting for good food, but the website is completely misleading, and I was lied to on the telephone. Disappointing as we had used this company in lockdown and the food was good, but this is an unacceptable way to treat a customer. We won't be using this business again.

Not fresh and unreliably slow. Ordered delivery online. Informed from their online system it would take an hour to prepare and deliver. Phoned after an hour to ask for an ETA. The nice lady explained it was waiting in a warmer for the last 30mins but it was going to take AT LEAST another 30mins for our takeaway to arrive as the driver was on a delivery round. We cancelled. Shame as I hear it isn’t bad food there from a local family member.

The food was nice but be aware there is NO ALCOHOL and it's in the middle of nowhere so if you turn up in a taxi expecting a beer, you're done for. Very large portions but a bit of a canteen hall feel rather than restaurant.

Friendly staff quick service for a sit down meal everyone enjoyed there meals very much the only down side is the restaurant is a bit cold at this time of year but wasn’t a major issue we will definitely return again .

Food was nice and good value but the venue feels very industrial and lacked any authentic atmosphere for an Indian restaurant. Overall nothing to get excited about.

I collected my order and the 10% discount wasn't applied,the garlic in tarka dal was burnt so impaired flavour and the yoghurt mint which was for my chicken tikka main was as runny as water this was my 1st visit,it could possibly be my last.the staff were polite.

We were 2 miles away from restaurant driving home when we ordered and happy to wait if could not deliver, but said can deliver where we were staying.. Parked the car, phone rings to tell me could not deliver as it was too far.. what a joke!

OK curry. I was just a bit disappointed with the level spice in my tikka massala. It was not near any level of hot, maybe I should have asked for it to be spicy.
