Motorbiked there with a mate. First time here and I loved everything about this place and highly recommend. Vibe and decor was just right, inspirational and very clean. Food hot and fresh, tasty and well presented. Service very nice and overall experience was awesome. Definitely returning. ps there is plenty of seating inside and outside - I wasn't sure from the pics.

First time since new owners have taken on the business, the decor, seating areas and menu have had a complete update embracing the history of this iconic biker venue. I understand people don't like change but the food is a vast improvement on the old frozen burgers they used to serve... i would personally pay a little extra for 100% British steak burgers. will be returning soon

I have been going for years, and it has gone from a honest, cheap and cheerful biker location to trying to emulate places like The Bike Shed, or Torque Moto Cafe in Horsham. Now I'm all for pukka expensive coffee, but cold coffee out of a machine for £2.80 a cup is not on - The Bike Shed will serve you a Barista made proper coffee for the same money, and Torque Moto Cafe is even better! They either need to improve the quality for the price, or serve honest cheap tea and coffee like The Ace Cafe, who are not trying to be pretentious, it's just a cheap cuppa and somewhere to chat about bikes. The bacon roll at Rykas was average, and not hot. I definitely want this place to suceed, but the competition for posh food these days is big - good luck guys and I hope all this feedback gets you where you need to be.

We just missed the breakfast menu so had to go for a burger instead. It was delicious and not badly priced - though chips are separate and I heard someone complain about the price. (To be honest you’d pay the same in McDonalds for a dry burger so not sure what the issue is myself. ) Our only complaint would be with the miserable staff … Not a hello, goodbye, thank you. Nothing. And certainly no smile. Shame because the food was tasty.

The new owners have completely transformed Rykas for the better, new menu, new interior, new outdoor seating, new toilets, new live motorsport the list goes on. If you haven’t been GO! I have visited Rykers since the age of 10. I'm now 40 and have been taking my children here after so many years of great food and service. What the hell has happened! It used to serve decent food for decent prices but our recent visit since the new refit has left me so angry. Prices have gone up I understand that but don't take you customers for idiots. The old juicy burger has gone with a new new 'smashed' option (smaller basically) and no option of meals just the burger which is now £7 and I've had better in the weather spoons. Adding insult to injury they now charge £2.25 for a handful of chips (previously a big portion) and then a drink separately. What a joke £11 for a tiny burger, handful of chips and a can of drink😡 So, after 30 years I will never be returning and I really hope others do the same but I'm sure you don't care as you will still have trade, but repeat business? I'm not so sure. Hopefully management wake up and realize what a sham the whole place is.

My general overview recently - Coffee (latte) out of the machine is cold! After riding down there numerous times on a cold day I’m now getting fed up with a supposedly hot drink being cold! I ordered a burger on a recent visit, it turned up in the burger box looking like someone had run over it! (A complete mess actually!)… I used to manage a fast food company & I would be embarrassed to be serving food of this standard & customer service is not much better. (Lack of interest as far as I can see with certain staff members.) Not impressed at all & can’t recommend this cafe.

Been coming to Ryka’s for years. Was always a good spot and importantly good food. New owners have ruined the food. Quite expensive, not quite fair ground prices, but higher than it should be considering the burgers are damn awful!! Makes the Big Mac look like something Gordon Ramsey would make and charge £80 for!! Hot dog was hard and the bun didn’t even fit round it. Useless!! No fish on the menu. Previous management used to have scampi etc which was great. Only reason it’s not getting a 1 * is the new management / owners have put some money in and done up the building and grounds. So they seem keen, within reason. If you want food, as other reviews have said, go elsewhere. If you want a nice place to sit and socialise (maybe best to exclude weekends as it gets very busy), and go for walks locally it’s ideal. Toilets have always been naff and hopefully the new management will sort these with taps that work well and decent driers.

I have been coming to Rykas Cafe for the last 20 years and for the most part the food has been great and reasonably priced, but since the new owners have taken over its gone downhill fast!! No longer can you get a double bacon burger for say £4.80, now all you get is a "Steak Burger" for double that price!! It was about the same size as a Maccy D's cheeseburger, what a rip-off. It literally looked as if someone had sat on the burger before handing it to me! As others have suggested, you're better off going two miles down the road to Dorking and find a decent cafe or pub to have a meal. I really wish I'd taken a photo now just to prove how bad it was.

What happened to Rykas? Normally Cheeseburger, Fries & Coffee deal is £7 or 2 x £7 = £14 for two people. Never had a complaint since arriving in the area in 1982. Went today for a local treat, same meal was £23.40! That's £9.40 dearer for a soggy burger bun which we think was nuked in the wrapper before serving. So disappointing as this is a pleasant local, convenient stop off.

Been going to Ryka's for decades - the new owners (who run the Smith and Weston gaff up the hill I believe) have hiked prices, dropped food quality (emaciated, limp and visibly reduced in size, tasteless burgers) and even gone full throttle cheapskate on milk shakes, hand stirring flavourings into the generic mix and failing to mix properly, never mind standing around for ages waiting for the lunacy to end. Ryka's should be a licence to print money - knocking out quality burgers is very low challenge in the food industry but instead we see evidence of cost cutting that mean the new regime won't see a penny more from us. Twice we called by for milkshakes midday to be told 'the machine's being cleaned'! In the middle of the day! Poor organisation...

Visited for the first time with my brother after a ride up from the South coast and was left a little disappointed. The food was okay but more expensive than I'd have thought. I would say portions were small for the price and the quality of the food didn't make up the difference. You can get more for your money at High Street fast chains and better quality at a proper burger joint/pub for only a couple of quid more. We went on a week day and there was plenty of parking despite a few HGVs stopping off for lunch. Even with the renovations - don't understand why these happen during peak season - taking place service was still efficient and plenty of space outside.

Despite this the Cafe functioned by allowing one customer in to order and pay at a time. Once the food was prepared it was collected from the side window. We had sausage and egg baps. Plenty of bikes to look at on a Sunday morning, middle-aged crowd, good atmosphere. Banana/chocolate milkshakes very good and not too expensive.

Been here twice when passing but I will never go again. Food is poor and expensive. Ok for bikers that congregate here otherwise give it a miss.

During the day visit - I think it may have a different atmosphere in the evening. Popular with bikers and a nice place to stop whilst on a visit to Box Hill. Cafe serves good food at reasonable prices.

Located at the bottom of Box Hill with a decent car park. The food and drink are OK and typical of what you get on the high street, although a little more expensive. Think MuckDonalds with Starbuck prices. There are a couple of seats and tables inside and about 10 picnic tables outside set in a small field. Toilets are in a separate block. The only reason to go to this place is on Sunday, motorcyclists gather here. If you ride a motorbike, visit this place at least once.

Just stopped off for a cup of tea whilst out on the bike. Always busy with bikers when the weather is dry. Lovely polite service with a smile. Good burgers

I've been visiting Ryka's for over 40 years and it has progressed from a temporary building to a nice permanent brick built one. A Mecca for motorcyclists from all over the South East, it can attract a hundred or so bikes on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Not as popular as it was in the 1970's but still very busy with the car park full to bursting sometimes. There are a few tables inside, and a number of wooden ones outside, which can attract wasps in the summer, but that's not Ryka's fault. They don't have their own toilets, so you have to make use of the public ones a few metres away, but these can sometimes be a bit grotty. Again nothing that Ryka's can do about that as they are not their responsibility.Food is typical burgers, but much better than Burger King or McDonald's, and can be very filling. Staff are always very polite. My favourite is the CBT.Situated at the base of Box Hill and the famous zig-zag road, very popular with cyclists all year round. Denbies Vineyard is also just up the road and well worth a visit. You don't have to be a motorcyclist to visit, motorists and cyclists are also welcome, although the latter tend to opt for the National Trust cafe at the top of the hill.

When you first walk in it looks a bit basic and the queues look painful. Then you realise the place is spotless, the staff are ridiculously efficient and they burn through the queue in no time.Food and provisions are basic, bacon baps, jacket spuds etc but it is good basic. The shocker is 4 drinks and a muffin cost of £6!The bikers are nice people as well which gives the place a good feel.

Good little cafe with some indoor seating and plenty outside too. Reasonably priced food , tea coffee etc. Lots of bikes arrive on Sunday mornings and I think it can be tricky to get a car in
